A TV Tropes visitor since 2009, Savlamar has been writing online for RPGs since 2008, and as a novelist for much longer than that. She has written nine novels, three novellas, and several short stories, and is in the process of writing many more of each.     Tropes That Appear In Savlamar's Works
The following tropes tend to show up in anything Savlamar writes, because that's how she rolls.
  • All Myths Are True: Savlamar's works run on this. The worlds are built on stories; all it takes is understanding, positioning, and strength of will.
Dr. Blair Winters: All anything needs is a believer.
  • Badass Longcoat: Her characters tend to wear these. They aren't the only ones.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: A few of her characters claim to be these. Some of them are.
  • Magick: She was taught the difference between "stage magic" and natural magic by two of her writing mentors. She uses the "k" to differentiate between the two, as both typically exist in her worlds.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Her favorite type of character. She writes a few of these (arguably).
  • New Orleans: Very frequently the setting of Sav's works. Furthermore:
    • The Big Easy: The works make use of all of New Orleans and even a bit of the surrounding areas. The one time anything like a "swamp" is mentioned, it's actually the barrier islands in the Mississippi Delta and is explicitly stated to be very far from the city itself. This appearance is in "Bloodlines."
    • It's Always Mardi Gras in New Orleans: Averted hard. Not one story she has written so far has involved Mardi Gras. Life Of a Raindrop does involve a jazz funeral and second line so far, and because it takes place over the span of a year or so, more if you count the flashbacks, it will most likely cover Mardi Gras a bit.
    • Southern Gothic: There are various creatures and an overall sense of Dark and Edgy, but the setting itself is not depicted as Gothic. At most times it's perfectly "normal," aside from all the non-human stuff living there.
  • Our Angels Are Different: And how. There's the Knight Templar, the unpredictable Magnificent Bastard, the nondiscerning Healing Hands, and the Pyromaniac. And those are just the archangels.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: Certainly not the Michael Bay of literature (or Dan Brown), but things do tend to explode every once in a while.
    • Sav's Law of Conserving Explosions: If something explodes in a story, and the explosion could be taken out of the story with zero change to the plot at all, the explosion is likely there to serve another purpose, most likely a fictional Take That! or Revenge. Examples appear in Sovereign and "Primetime"; an aversion appears in "Fiat Lux" (that explosion is vital to the plot).

Tropes That Appear In Savlamar's Life
If Sav's life were a book (and maybe it is...), these tropes would likely appear in it.
  • Asexual: Specifically, demisexual. They do exist!
  • Badass Longcoat: Has a thinner denim jacket for the fall and spring and a black longcoat for the winter. During the summer, alas, she goes without.
  • Embarrassing First Name / Do Not Call Me "Paul": She considers her birth name immature and embarrassing, and has repeatedly asked people not to call her it, to the point that she no longer tells people what it is. Serves as a minor Berserk Button.
  • I Have Many Names: Has a different username for most sites she's on. See above for part of why she doesn't just use her real name.
  • One-Steve Limit: Very literal aversion. There are four men named "Steve" in her life, to varying degrees.
  • Sanity Slippage: Self-admittedly shows signs of this, especially following the events of the disastrous year 2015. Possibly invoked, as it is partially voluntary.
  • Suffers Newbies Poorly: Made a name for herself in certain corners of the Internet for this. Discussed and then zigzagged after she was appointed admin of a large roleplay site.

    Pages Savlamar Has Edited
The following are pages Sav has edited or created.
  • The Band Minus the Face: added Evans Blue (and fixed the spelling of 10 Years' Jesse Hasek's last name).
  • Kubrick Stare: fleshed out the Peter Capaldi/Twelfth Doctor entry.
  • Witness Protection: Added the name of the relevant Mary-Kate and Ashley film (Our Lips Are Sealed).
