Trivia / The Little Prince (2015)

• All-Star Cast: Mackenzie Foy, Rachel McAdams, Jeff Bridges, Benicio del Toro, Ricky Gervais, Paul Giamatti, Albert Brooks, Paul Rudd, Marion Cotillard, James Franco, oh my!
• Channel Hop: The film was scheduled for release in the United States on March 18, 2016, but Paramount dropped the film just a week prior to release, allegedly out of fears it would bomb at the box office and that the film's producers did not make an agreed upon-payment for the film's prints and posters. The rights were picked up by Netflix the week of its scheduled release.
• Denial of Digital Distribution: Combined with Keep Circulating the Tapes. On May 2021 (and everywhere else in 2023), Netflix removed the movie from the streaming service. Unless you live in France (where the region free Blu-ray got released) or the United States and Canada, where Paramount released the film on DVD and as a digital purchase or rental, you have to import the French Blu-ray in order to legally watch the film.
• Role Reprise: In the French dub, Guillaume Gallienne voices the Snake once again after the 2010 series.
• Screwed by the Network: First, Paramount made little effort in promoting the film in the United States, despite having done very well in France, and placed it in a release schedule that sandwiched it with Zootopia, 10 Cloverfield Lane (which Paramount also released) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Then, Paramount decided to cancel the United States release a week in advance, one of the most abrupt release cancellations ever decided, as its producers did not make an agreed-upon payment covering the release's costs. They later dropped the film from their slate.
  • Network to the Rescue: Luckily, the movie was quickly picked up by Netflix. But sadly, even that didn’t last as the movie was pulled from the service in 2021 (Paramount then put it out on DVD and as a digital purchase and rental).
• Those Two Actors: James Franco and Paul Rudd were in this film and were the voices of the only prominent human characters in Sausage Party.
