Recap / The Real Ghostbusters S 2 E 10 Camping It Up

Go To

The Ghostbusters, Janine, and Slimer are planning to go on a camping trip, and they decide not to bring any tools with them. Slimer tries to bring junk food, but Ray tells him to leave it behind, then they set off, but get stuck in a large puddle and it rains.

Eventually, they make it to their campsite, and it's stopped raining, but a Bigfoot is there, unbeknown to everyone. They unpack their tents (Egon's is very high-tech) and then that night, they roast marshmallows. Slimer claims he needs to go to the bathroom (somehow) and Winston tells him to go on a tree. Slimer is scared of the woods, so he has Winston accompany him, and then the Bigfoot scares him away. However, when Slimer tells Winston there's a monster, Winston doesn't believe him, thinking that Slimer mistook the nearby owl for a monster.

Ray tells a story about a werewolf, scaring everybody else, including the Bigfoot, who the guys notice and run away into Egon's tent. He thinks that they were just imagining things due to fear from the story, but then the Bigfoot appears and they notice one of his footprints. Egon and Ray determine that there is indeed a Bigfoot nearby, and that they're getting PKE readings from him (which is odd, since sasquatches don't usually have a PKE signal).

Janine and Slimer befriend Bigfoot, who then falls asleep in Egon's tent. Later that night, a storm starts, which Egon reveals is due to damage in the space-time continuum. He determines that Bigfoot comes from another dimension, and Slimer reveals that he claims to come from a "hole in the noisy water".

They go down the river in a raft, and almost go over a waterfall, but Bigfoot holds onto a branch and the humans hold onto Bigfoot. He then leads them down a path that leads behind the waterfall and into a portal. The portal begins to close, so Bigfoot goes back to his dimension and the Ghostbusters, Janine, and Slimer go back to theirs. Then, they go to leave, but Peter makes a mess when he accidentally activates Egon's tent.

  • Naked People Are Funny: Despite the idea being not to bring any equipment, Egon brings one PKE meter, saying that without any of the tools, he feels naked. Ray says that it's a good thing he's not actually naked.
  • Nature Lover: Zigzagged. Egon claims all sasquatches love nature, but it's unknown if that's true, since he also claims they don't like technology, which is false since this Bigfoot sleeps in Egon's high-tech tent.

  • Toilet Humour: At one point, Slimer babbles to Peter, who says, "Didn't I tell you to go before we left?", implying that he (somehow) needs to use the bathroom.
  • Tongue-Out Insult: Slimer sticks out his tongue at Ray for making him leave his snacks behind.
  • Vacation Episode: The episode follows the Ghostbusters vacationing on a camping trip.
  • Weirdness Magnet: Lampshaded when Peter wonders if he and the others can go just one week without anything weird happening.
