The Lightscale Trident

With Zora's Domain finally safe from the threat of Ruta, Link takes some time to connect with his grandchildren and the Zora who were previously hostile towards him.

Tropes:

  • Breather Episode: Link takes the chance to cool down and recover after his fight with Waterblight Ganon.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Each of Lochlia's children are a different color.
    • Mipha is light blue.
    • Link is deep blue.
    • Leilani is pink.
    • Solarri is purple.
  • Doting Grandparent: The moment the royal Zora grandchildren learn that Link is their grandfather, they immediately jump on him, overwhelm him, and clearly want him to be this, and Link is more than willing to oblige.
  • Good Parents: Bazz and Lochlia seem to be very good parents to their four children.
  • Hope Spot: King Dorephan, after seeing Link is alive and hearing that Zelda is, began to hope that it wasn't too late to save Mipha. He's crushed to learn that they were.
  • Instant Expert: Link practices with Mipha's trident in the yard of his home and masters it quickly. He also quickly learns how to use Mipha's Grace.
  • The One Guy: Link is the only male of Lochlia's children.
  • Papa Wolf: Link abruptly warns Bazz not to break his daughter's heart. Bazz promises he won't.
  • Pass the Popcorn: Link training with the Lightscale Trident and its powers over water is enough to capture the attention the mini Guardians and some residents of Hateno Village itself.
  • Power Tattoo: Link has gained a new tattoo in the form of Divine Beast Vah Ruta that glows in bright blue whenever he uses it.
  • The Scapegoat: Kapson explains to Link that the real reason most people faulted him was because they didn't want to accept that Mipha would have been lost to them either way.
  • Superpowerful Genetics: Baby Mipha inherited Mipha's Grace from Lochlia, who inherited it from the original Mipha.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Most of the elderly Zora finally let go of their racism against Hylians and their Irrational Hatred for him personally. Muzu speaks for them all.
