Spring of Power & Sanidin Park Ruins
Link starts to have bizarre dreams as his memories of the past being to build up to the Great Calamity.
Tropes:
- Armored Villains, Unarmored Heroes: Link is almost naked while he's fighting a strange spectral armored Hero's Shade.
- Dream Walker: The Hero's Shade appears to Link through his dreams. Not just him, but other wolves that are spirits in their own right.
- I Never Told You My Name: During his dream, he encounters a strange skeletal entity transformed from a golden wolf. It knows his name, and conversely, Link knows its title as the Hero's Shade.
- Morphic Resonance: The Hero's Shade implies that the wolves behind him are all previous Links. By reading their detailed descriptions, you can tell which one is which.
- One is a grey wolf with a shackle on its foreleg and blue earrings.
- One has a white face with deep red body fur with a red feather necklace.
- One has a strange baton in its mouth.
- Mutual Kill: Subverted. Link and the Hero's Shade's duel ends with them mutually striking each other, but even so, there's not any damage dealt to either of them.
- Purple Is Powerful: Zelda's white stallion wears purple gear, unique as no other horse wears such gear. It befits their share royal status as purple was always historically a color of wealth and power.
- Precision F-Strike: Downplayed, as it's not a direct swear word, but nonetheless, Link is shocked when the eloquent and well-speaking Zelda suddenly says "Curse you." To Hylia.
- Super-Empowering: Upon visiting the Spring of Power for a memory, Hylia beckons Link to her. He gives her the nineteen Spirit Orbs he has, and receives a huge boost of power and strength, so intense that he's capable of crushing rock with his bare hands.
