Learning from the Rito

Link learns of the existence of an ally who will help him to fight Medoh, and remembers one of the last moments he spent alone with Revali.

Tropes:

  • Adaptation Expansion: The "Revali's Flap" memory doesn't end with Revali flying off to Medoh. There's an extra scene where Link speaks with Revali's sister Takki.
  • Agent Mulder: Children Are Innocent, so Kola believes Link right off the bat when he claims to be the Hylian Champion from 100 years ago.
  • …And That Little Girl Was Me: Link gives his backstory from the Calamity to Kola as a fairytale featuring Princess Zelda and "the knight" until he reveals to Kola that he is the knight in question.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Among the four Champions, Revali is confirmed as the youngest, as his voice is still cracking and he's shorter than many of the other Rito.
  • Boisterous Bruiser: Revali boasts all about his abilities as an archer and a master of the wind.
  • Cassandra Truth: Link really is the Champion from 100 years ago, but Kaneli understandably doesn't believe that, since Hylians rarely live to 100 years, and never to past 130 years.
  • Combat Aestheticist: Link and Takki in the past discuss how Revali sees combat as an art. They agree, and that's why Link is the better fighter, because he's mastered multiple art forms. In their words, the best painter in the world will never win a sculpting competition.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: Kaneli and most of the Rito assume Link descends from the Hylian Champion, instead of actually being the Champion, since it's been 100 years and all the Champions are said to be dead. They start to suspect otherwise when they notice Link's Master Sword.
  • Friend to All Children: Link immediately helps Kola feel less afraid of Medoh when she admits how scared she is of it.
  • Healing Hands: Link uses Mipha's Grace to heal Harth's injury.
  • Jerkass: Revali is extremely upfront and condescending to Link, and very openly expresses his displeasure that he is only assisting Link instead of fighting Ganon personally.
  • My Grandson, Myself: Link actively pretends to be his own descendant, and that he inherited the Sheikah Slate through his family, which Kaneli was already suspecting before Link actually said it.
  • No Hero to His Valet: Revali's sister Takki has none of her baby brother's antics, and is completely unimpressed with him.
  • Original Character: Revali was never stated to have any family in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Here, he has a sister in Takki.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Kola calls Kaneli her grandfather, which means that so are her siblings, and one of their parents is related to Kaneli as well.
  • Smug Snake: If Revali is one thing, it is extremely confident in his abilities.
