While the original game has its share of funny moments, HD takes it to another level, adding the Black Comedy and Vulgar Humor early Newgrounds was known for.

Week 1
- Daddy Dearest says Boyfriend will have to go through him if he wants to date his daughter. Boyfriend assumes he wants an actual fight, and reacts accordingly.
- Daddy Dearest claims he has met and killed both The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac.
- In the final cutscene, after a passionate declaration of love from Boyfriend, he tells Daddy Dearest to "attend to the tightness of them jeans".
Week 2
- Girlfriend does a Double Take after realizing Skid and Pump are alive, human and talk.
- Boyfriend does the Spooky Dance during "South", and it's both adorable and hilarious.
Week 3
- This little conversation.Pico: I bring my boys with me wherever I go, no matter the difficulty of the task!
Nene: Boy and girl!
Pico: (Annoyed) Fuck up.
Nene: Okay! ^_^ - Boyfriend assumes Pico and Girlfriend are related. And then assuming that by "take [him] out", Pico meant "take you out for dinner".
- Turns out Nene is literally homophobic (as in, has a literal phobia). When she learns Pico and Boyfriend used to date, she freaks out and jumps off the fucking rooftop.Darnell: ...Aaand that's 10.
- And if Pico is anything to go by, Boyfriend was perfectly aware of this.
- Once Pico runs out of bullets, he wants to throw hands with Boyfriend, only to be halted by Girlfriend before he gets the chance.
Week 4
- Boyfriend calling Girlfriend sus.
- When Boyfriend asks Girlfriend what happened to Pico, Girlfriend compares his current situation to The Shadow Realm.
- At one point, we see a news broadcast with the caption "STUPID FUCKING KID ON STUPID FUCKING CAR WITH STUPID FUCKING GIRLS". And Ethan, the news reporter, is a Sir Swears-a-Lot Deadpan Snarker. Even better it that it's fully voiced.Ethan: Good evening, beautiful people. This is KOL News Network, with an update on the high-speed chase unfolding along Route 76. Two of the persons atop the matte-black limos have been identified as ex-popstar Mommy Mearest... (Aside Glance) that's a fuckin' stupid name... ahem- and her daughter. With a number of other persons assumed to be affiliates and entourage. Whatever the case, the road there is known to be littered with low-hanging street lights, so caution is advised. Seriously, who the fuck put those there?! More on this high-speed action soon... was I supposed to say that? No? Well, I don't give a shit, dude. (Broadcast ends)
- Ethan returns for the next song.Ethan: Is it really that important? Nobody gives a shit about this kid! I'm eight days into a two-week notice, I'm tired of this shit.
Week 5
- The artwork at the menu screen itself has Boyfriend and a friendly, normal-looking Monster staring at eachother like it was the "Oh, you!" meme.
- Ethan returns, and he's as good as ever, despite the fact that he apparently lost his job as a news reporter.
- He'd probably be fired from this job as well, considering his attitude.Ethan: Yeah, yeah. Welcome to The Mall, thanks for bringin' your fuckin' kids. Can't wait to clean up after 'em. [...] Maaan, FUCK other people. I love being a hateful motherfucker!
- Ethan's reaction to seeing Girlfriend and Boyfriend deserves a seperate mention.Ethan: Only thing that could make today worse is that blue haired kid showing up- You have got to be shitting me. BRO.
- He'd probably be fired from this job as well, considering his attitude.
- Boyfriend wants to visit Santa and apparently still believes in him. Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest predicted this, and thus have been waiting for him.
- Pico, Darnell and Nene appear in the cutscene between "Cocoa" and "Eggnog", as the Dearests still let the former enjoy Christmas. Oh, and speaking of Nene, she quickly says "fuck an escalator" and decides that falling to her death is the faster way of transportation. Pico enters yet another breakdown while Darnell still doesn't care.
- Her corpse is still there during "Eggnog".
- During the otherwise horrifying "Winter Horrorland", Girlfriend's beheaded corpse falls over just as Monster says "turn your Girlfriend outside out and burn her fingernails". When this happens, Monster happily sings "La-la, la-la!". Given that this is a Battle in the Center of the Mind, this was probably done by Monster on purpose to fuck around with Boyfriend.
- One random person is still in the background, for whatever reason.note
- During the cutscene after "Winter Horrorland", Girlfriend is desperately trying to wake Boyfriend up. Daddy Dearest says he didn't want this to happen, but it makes his job a lot easier. And then Boyfriend wakes up. Note the simplistic way he reacts.Daddy Dearest: fuck
- The parents wishing that Boyfriend died during "Winter Horrorland". It's funnier than it sounds.Mommy Mearest: How boring! You should've died so I could've snatched you for myself.
Daddy Dearest: No, he should've died so that we don't have to worry about him tryna KILL us.
Mommy Mearest Last I checked, I was the one who wore the pants in this relationship, malewife!
Girlfriend: Can you believe that's gonna be us someday?
Boyfriend: Some day? That was us a few months ago! - Boyfriend tells Girlfriend to to get out of the Mall so he can give her "a white Christmas". Girlfriend agrees, and the week ends.
Other
- Kolsan has revealed lore for the mod's canon in several tweets, each one giving facts about the different characters. The only lore he gave for Pico, however, was that he hates Monster yellow.
