Hiiragi being an idiot

While Etra-chan saw it! has some serious moments, there are a bunch of really funny moments.

• Hiiragi kept sending messages to his ex-wife, Tsutsuji, to try to win her back after he cheated on her. They were very embarrassing and irritated his dad, Tokusa. First, it was a long email sent to his sister, Karin, to be forwarded to the ex-wife. Karin instead sent it to her family and Tsutsuji. After that, Hiiragi gave a paper letter to Karin to give to Tsutsuji. However, Karin instead took a picture of the letter's contents and sent it to her father. Finally, Hiiragi sent a telegram with balloons attached to his former in-laws. The telegram sent Tokusa into such a rage that he flew over to Hiiragi's elder brother's house, where Hiiragi was hiding, and punched him in the face. Afterwards, Tokusa banished him to an old man's farm in Hokkaido, telling him not to come back until he "grows some character."
  Tokusa: WHERE IS THAT IDIOT!?!? AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!
  • It should be noted that the mother's response is to start cooking in the kitchen, wondering where she went wrong raising Hiiragi.
• 17-year-old Yuri was proposed to by a 41-year-old Akamatsu. Yuri couldn't reject him outright because her family owes Akamatsu's family a favor. They didn't meet in person yet. So, Yuri ate a lot of food and got fat by the time she and Akamatsu could meet in person, causing him to reject her.
• Yuzuriha, Kuroki's ex-girlfriend and stalker, crashed into his wedding claiming she is pregnant with Kuroki's baby. Tokusa immediately noticed that she is not pregnant but instead put a watermelon on her belly under her clothing. A guest tried to restrain her, but the watermelon came down, making the audience burst into laughter causing her to run out. And then there's Tokusa's final line: "You have my gratitude, watermelon."
• Tsutsuji invited her friend Karin to a diner. Suddenly, a woman and her lawyer came at her stall and interrogated her thinking that she was the mistress having an affair with the woman's husband, but Tsutsuji does not understand the situation due to lack of sleep.
• This quote:
  Kuroki: My name is Kuroki. I love fried chicken and fried chicken loves me.
• Tsutsuji catches a cold and goes to a nearby clinic to see a doctor to get herself treated. While waiting for her turn, the person before her, Tokusa, goes to the doctor's room first, 5 minutes later, he returns with a shocked face, making Tsutsuji think if he was diagnosed with a serious illness. When it's finally her turn, she goes to see the doctor and the doctor is revealed to be an old woman who dresses up like a sexy doctor with her panties visible, causing her to have the same reaction as Tokusa had.
• Azami broke into a house by getting through a window, unfortunately, she got stuck because she was too fat needing the police and a locksmith to get her out.
• Karin and her husband were working on a plan to keep a hated woman from getting on her knees to get leniency from the court for stealing a tree that involved using gravel and dirt. All the neighbors showed up to help. For some reason, Tachibana showed up with a machete.
• A naked Akamatsu jumped off of a balcony and landed right on Yuri. During this scene, anytime where he isn't drawn in a Super-Deformed artstyle, Etra-chan is used to censor his dick.
• When Katsura tells Yuzuriha that her husband, Hiiragi has been cheating on her, she was furious and confronted him while wielding a knife.
• Tokusa and his father Hiiragi are trying to find out what's inside a tin box which was found by Kuroki, a worker from a construction site next to their house. However, the box is next to impossible to be opened, causing them to ask the construction workers at the construction site to open the box. Hilariously, all of the workers were not able to open the box, Kuroki then comes up with an idea to get Tachibana to open it. Tachibana arrives next week to help them, however, he also has a hard time opening the box, though eventually he was able to open it. The content inside the box turns out to be a porn stash, causing everyone to laugh.
  • After an attempt is made to open the box, at least one person winds up in the Yamcha Death pose.
  • Karin and Azami trying to open the box.
  • During Hiiragi and Tokusa's initial attempt at opening the box, Azami can be seen casually making dinner in the background, completely unaware of what's happening around her.
  • After many failed attempts to open the box, Kuroki of all people gets angry and attempts to smash it with various tools including a hammer and a wrench while Katsura tries to calm him down. This exchange is drawn in the style of Pop Team Epic. In the Japanese version of the episode, Katsura can be heard telling Kuroki to stay in a soothing tone as one would do trying to calm down an agitated pet.
  • Akamatsu tries to retrieve his box back and awkwardly asks Azami about it.
• Akamatsu's reputation gets saved by his wife who looked through his laptop and found his porn collections, making the rumor about him being in a gay relationship with Hiiragi go away.
• Kuroki gets a pet cat, while also wearing a mask and a pair of gloves, due to him being allergic to cats as well, he tells Tokusa that he only gets one because it is cute.
• Kuroki's accident caused an event which happened during his coma:
  • Yuzuriha "marries" him without him knowing in an attempt to get his family's fortune, thinking that he drives a Porsche and is going to be the "next company president". However, Hiiragi dismisses her claims as the Porsche turns out to be a tractor and the "next company president" turns out to be a nickname as a joke for Kuroki as he was sharing vegetables to many people.
  • The reason why Yuzuriha decided to "marry" Kuroki? She eavesdropped him having a phone conversation with Hiiragi, with the latter talking to the former about the Porsche tractor and his nickname.
  • And the reason Kuroki ended up in the accident in the first place? He saw Yuzuriha walking nearby and didn't pay any attention to the road, causing him to crash into a truck.
• Hiiragi ends up getting a Training from Hell from Tsutsuji's father Tachibana in the form of a baseball training lesson after he and his parents mistreated Tsutsuji by making her work like a housemaid for them. Even after Hiiragi and Tsutsuji break off their engagement, Tachibana stays behind to keep training him.
• Tachibana slept on the rooftop of his own house because he was extremely drunk.
• Yuri slapping her cheating husband Hiiragi when he ran home, abandoning her and Tsutsuji.
  • In the English dub, when the family encountered a shadowy figure looking ready to kill them, Hiiragi screamed at the top of his lungs.
• Akane abandons her own wedding with Kuroki to be together with her "true love", Hiiragi, despite only having met him a few days earlier. Their relationship didn't even last a year. She returns to her parents' house crying after she found out that her "true love" was cheating on her with another woman.
  • After Akane ran away with Hiiragi, Kuroki tries to pretend that the wedding was his birthday party.
  • Akamatsu mocks the letter Akane sent to Kuroki by saying that she was a 5 year old girl. This causes to Kuroki to cry and regret his decision to marry her.
• When Kuroki finds out that Hiiragi is breaking into his house and tries to wear his underwear, the former screams and then the police arrive at the same time, causing one of them to be confused to see who the intruder is, with Hiiragi still being naked.
  Police!Katsura: What's going on!? Which one is the intruder?
  Kuroki: (points at Hiiragi) He is! This freaking pervert!!
  Police!Yuri: Oh...
• Kuroki finds Tachibana sleeping inside a doghouse for the former's dog after the latter was kicked out by his wife.
  • When the police arrived to arrest Tachibana, officer Akamatsu comments on his actions.
    Akamatsu: You were sleeping in the doghouse? Seriously? Don't you have any shame...
• Akane holds up the line at a noodle court at the mall because she can't figure out how to order food for herself and her son, Akamatsu. Her behavior causes several people to get angry at her. She finally makes up her mind, she decides to get food at a donut court instead of the noodle court earlier, without even ordering anything for Akamatsu. When she's about to return the tray, she brings it to the waittress of the noodle court instead of the donut court, causing Karin and Yuzuriha to call her out and she eventually runs away in embarrassment, with Akamatsu chasing after her.
• Hiiragi gets hemorrhoids.
  Hiiragi: Owwww! M-My ass exploded!!
• Akane has been defaming Tsutsuji because she wants to get together with her boyfriend Tokusa, who she believes is wealthy. Tokusa is confused since he's not rich, but Akane claims she overheard Tsutsuji and her friend Karin saying he was an "ojinushi" (rich landowner) in the cafeteria the other day. Both Karin and Tsutsuji immediately start laughing, because they were actually talking about Tokusa's hemorrhoids (another meaning of jinushi).
  • Once that was settled, Akane runs off crying and never bothered the couple again. However, the incident has caused other people around campus to call Tokusa "rich landowner", much to his embarrassment.
• Tokusa and Akamatsu think they have destroyed a house after the former told the latter to cast a spell on it. In reality, it was a pure coincidence because the house was blown up by a gas leak.
• Tokusa and his friends head to the wedding of their boss's daughter, Akane, except her "groom" is a body pillow. Then later, Hiiragi asks Tokusa later if he could sleep with Akane so she could get pregnant... Tokusa promptly quits and runs out screaming.
  • Throughout the course of the episode, Akamatsu's faces gets weirder due to the sheer ridiculousness of the situations he and his co-workers face. By the end of Akane's wedding, he's devolved into a blob with his hair.
  • Needless to say, Hiiragi kept asking others to be a sperm donor, prompting them to quit as well. His whole company tanked in the aftermath of the ceremony.
  • It's later revealed Akane did manage to have a child, but given what had happened, Tokusa worries if the kid actually exists. Sure enough, her baby is actually a doll.
• Tired of her brother-in-law always eating in her fridge, Yuzuriha pranks him and makes him think he ate a cockroach. Needless to say, it kills Hiiragi's appetite, and he stops eating. Once everything settles down, she tells her husband she'll make something like woman's fingers in his curry if he ever cheats on her.
• Karin and her best friend Akane go to an amusement park. Akane goes on the roller coaster, but since she's overweight, the seat belt ends up getting stretched. When Akane convinces Karin to ride with her, they wind up in the same seat, with Karin smooshed in the seat, and realizes, all too late, that the seat belt was stretched out, from Akane earlier. Through the ride, Akane is having the time of her life, not realizing that Karin, right beside her, is absolutely terrified, screaming and holding on for dear life, still squished, afraid of falling out of the car! Suffice to say, Karin did not enjoy the ride quite as much as Akane did.
• Akane brags about her ring to Azami to make fun of her for being not married.
  Akane: Look at my nails! Not my ring. Look at my nails. My ring is sticking out too far. I can't see my nails because of the ring...
• Akamatsu being beaten up by the Yakuza after he accidentally hit one of them when he got frustrated with Yuri's lawyer after she sold their house to the Yakuza.
• When Akamatsu's Porn Stash is discovered in his sister Tsutsuji's closet, his grandmother Azami organizes them by category and lays them all on his bed.
  Azami: Let's see here. "Mature Woman", "Office Lady", "Lolita", "Someone's Wife", "Widower"... What's this one? Touch what?
  Yuzuriha: Hey now mother, no need to read it out loud!
• Yuzuriha is unable to maintain her "proper lady" façade while giving birth to her child, this causes her to yell a lot of profanities at her husband Kuroki and the nurses, which prompts him to leave the delivery room for a while.
  • When Kuroki returns to the delivery room to support Yuzuriha, he finds out that their child has already been born.
• Akamatsu embarrasses himself by asking for adult magazines at a public library because he thought Tsutsuji was encouraging him to find such books, in reality, she was actually talking about novels aimed at teenagers.
• When John asks Tachibana and his friends about their jobs, Tachibana answers that they make people "swim with the fishes", causing Katsura and Karin to freak out. However, John correctly guesses that they are diving instructors, making the couple feel relieved.
• Kuroki is hiding an adult magazine under his grandfather Katsura's shed. The next day, the construction workers find something under the shed, causing Kuroki to think that he's going to be caught and scolded by his grandparents. However, it turns out to be a dormant bomb which is buried under the shed.
  • It's later revealed that Katsura and Yuri knew about Kuroki's adult magazine after the construction workers found it in addition to the bomb, however, they are actually fine with the magazine and decide to keep it a secret until Kuroki asks about it.
• Hiiragi tries to spread bad rumors about Karin after he broke up with her because she didn't want to loan him $20,000. This causes Karin to reveal the actual reason behind their breakup and Hiiragi ends up getting hit by rumors and they eventually escalate into something really absurd when Tachibana tries to ask him regarding the rumors.
  Tachibana: Is it true that you were $50k in debt from gambling and you were planning a bank heist when Karin stopped you so you went to a loan shark and started helping out scammers with their plans while making Karin start her YouTube career so she could make you money and when she said no, you beat her up and then you were sentenced to 200 years in prison...
  • Rumors against Hiiragi keep evolving and Tachibana asks him again about the rumors.
    Tachibana: You asked Karin to get a fishing boat, to pay off your $20k in debt but when she turned you down, you were worried about going bankrupt so you asked a girl at a club that you frequented to partner up with you as a comedy group and you're striving to become a comedy sensation...tell me it ain't true bro!
• The shenanigans of the problem children consisting of Akamatsu, Akane, Hiiragi and Yuzuriha:
  • Akamatsu and Hiiragi attempt to pick a fight with a bunch of delinquents from another school, unsurprisingly, they lose and get beaten up.
  • Akamatsu takes control of the school's intercom and pranks everyone by "offering" his farts, causing them to Spit Take.
  • They attempt to prank the new transfer teacher, Tachibana. Unfortunately for them, Tachibana turns out to be a Stern Teacher who gives them a lot of hell.
  • They don't even change at all even after their graduation, Tachibana also turns out to be the new principal of their old middle school who scolds them for attempting to ruin the coming-of-age ceremony.
• Akane gets stuck in the fence of Tsutsuji and Tokusa's house when she tries to steal their vegetables. It took the firemen who responded to the call two hours to break Akane out of the fence.
• Akane almost getting kidnapped from watching too many TV dramas has a lot of great moments.
  • Karin has to take care of not only Akane acting like an immature child, but her husband Kuroki too.
  • Yuzuriha herself is surprised at how easily Akane buys into the idea of her being Akane's real mom.
  • Akane's extreme show of affection on her "last night" with her "fake" parents.
  • When Akane sees Yuzuriha trying the same "pretend to be their real mom" trick on Tsutsuji, she realizes what's really going on... Tsutsuji is obviously her sister, separated at birth! And again, Yuzuriha decides to just go along with everything Akane is saying.
  • Karin teasing Akane about the incident afterward.
• Yuzuriha imagines Tokusa stealing Karin away from her by seducing her with a lollipop, then she also imagines Karin begging her to take her back after marrying a man.
• A high Tachibana tries to kiss Tokusa because he thought he was a cute girl.
• A 4-year-old Yuri runs off into the woods and somehow mistakes a bear cub for a puppy.
  • Even 10 years after the incident, she still remembers it as a dog, much to Tokusa and Karin's horror.
• This episode which includes one of Akane's funniest antagonist roles to date. It starts out fairly normal with Tokusa and his friends going to an izakaya. However, things quickly go downhill.
  • After Tachibana accuses one of the guys of touching his girlfriend, everyone immediately suspects Akamatsu.
  • A drunk Akane flying sidekicks Hiiragi and starts beating the crap out of all the guys.
    • When Akamatsu gets scratched by her, his face resembles that of Kakyoin.
  • Tachibana apologizes for the trouble and calls everyone in the group good people. Cue Akane slamming the door open while babbling gibberish and everyone else freaking out and booking it for Kuroki's car.
  • Due to all of the chaos ensuing from trying to escape Akane, Tachibana (who wasn't even part of the group to begin with) also gets into the car.
  • After the incident, the group becomes afraid of the word "Akane", making them run away even if it is just Yuri telling them about her new "Akane-dye" scarf.
• After Tachibana beats up her men in a gang fight, Yuzuriha confronts him. Being blown away by her looks, Tachibana is in the middle of saying that he might make her his when she runs him over with her motorcycle. The episode then cuts to their wedding where Yuzuriha is making a peace sign and one of the wedding guests (presumably one of Yuzuriha's former gang members) can only ask why.
• The entire cast believing that Etra-chan is part of the Yakuza.
• In a collab video with Kisoanibit, it's revealed that Yuri of all people was a Former Teen Rebel who was known for taking down a whole group all by herself. She then gains the admiration of her students after they find out.
• Hiiragi, Azami and Yuzuriha get intimidated by buff grandpas.
• Hiiragi tries to rob a convenience store at knifepoint but due to how Tokusa and Tachibana look, alongside Tachibana's comment about getting rid of cockroaches and flushing them, he thinks that they're going to kill him and turn him into a meat bun.
• After Tachibana slaps Karin in the face, Akamatsu gets worried and tries to tell Tokusa to call the police only to see that he isn't there. He then overhears some noises back at the scene where he finds Tokusa wrestling Tachibana with a smile on his face all the while spouting generic customer service lines.
  • A few weeks later, Karin gives what seems to be a love letter to Tokusa and Akamatsu can be seen glaring at him with an absolutely hilarious angry face. Later on, the two guys go to the back of the store where Akamatsu begins moping about how come he didn't get anything while Tokusa rubs his good luck in his face. However, as Tokusa reads more of the letter, it's revealed that it isn't a love letter as Karin mentions that she now has a boyfriend who does pro wrestling and Akamatsu even finds two tickets to a match in the envelope. Following a brief pause, Tokusa is now sad that he didn't receive a love letter while Akamatsu is super excited to go to the wrestling match.
• A biker gang starts chasing after Tokusa so that they can give him a free drink. They also accidently leave Hiiragi behind at the convenience store.

  Hiiragi: Where the hell did you guys go?! Hurry up! I'm all lonely!

• Akamatsu's impression of Tachibana, which amounts to smacking a kendo stick against the ground repeatedly while making gorilla noises. Tachibana is not amused.
• In the first anniversary video, Azami thanks Akamatsu and Hiiragi for this episode as she now has a screenshot of the former kissing the latter. The other two actors then react in horror and beg her to delete it.
• This episode's spoof of Meet Cute with Akamatsu, complete with him having super bubbly shojo style eyes and him running late for class with a slice of toast in his mouth. Unfortunately for him, instead of bumping into a cute guy, he bumps into the school's gym teacher Tachibana, AKA the Gorilla and gets yelled at.
• Karin's family all recently got smartphones. A family-wide scuffle over a stack of envelopes reveals that the first thing they all did with them was buy porn. Cut to the present day, and Karin is living on her own when she gets a package in the mail... an ASMR CD.
• Hiiragi tries to impress Yuri by singing every night because he thought that she had a crush on him after overhearing her reacting to a text from Katsura. However, Hiiragi's singing is so awful, it makes Yuri to be unable to sleep.
  • One night, Yuri is happy to not hear any of Hiiragi's singing and attempts to sleep peacefully again. Unfortunately, Hiiragi ends up bringing Akamatsu and Akane to help him to impress Yuri with their music.
  • When someone rings Hiiragi's doorbell, he thinks Yuri is finally impressed by his singing, but he ends up meeting Officer Tokusa instead.
• Akane having to deal with her boss Hiiragi who let's just say, has a very high opinion of himself.
  • Near the beginning of the episode, it's shown that Hiiragi constantly stares at himself in a mirror at work and has even set his desktop background to a picture of himself. Understandably, Yuri and Azami are very weirded out.
  • Hiiragi goes to a matchmaking party to try to hook up with someone only to get rejected by both Tsutsuji and Yuzuriha.
  • After Hiiragi accidently drives off the road to avoid hitting a deer and his car ends up falling into a ravine, Akane is initially scared that she's going to die before she becomes more concerned that people will see them in the same car together and believe that they are a couple. She then has an Imagine Spot where Azami and Yuri are attending her funeral and crying because they think that she could have done much better than go out with him.
• Hiiragi attempts to kiss a photo with Yuzuriha in it, with her looking terrified and disgusted.
