An alliance of villains from across the multiverse, brought together by Maleficent in recognition of the fact that her attempts to conquer the universe in Kingdom Hearts were more successful when she collaborated with others than they ever were alone.

Due to the large number of villains who join the Overtakers over the course of the series, members of the group are listed in order of their first appearance.

     General
While the Overtakers are a varied group with a large roster, the following tropes apply to the group as a whole
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Just about every member of the Overtakers is someone who revel in being Evil.
  • Cast Full of Gay: A significant majority of the Overtakers' membership are not straight. This is discussed and lampshaded in Chapter 13 of the first story.
Russell: "So basically no one here is straight."
Fish: "Cheers to Maleficent for putting together the gayest team to ever try to rule the universe."
  • Criminal Found Family: Despite the bickering between different individuals and groups within the larger faction, the Overtakers as a whole all see each other as family.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones:
  • Evil Is One Big, Happy Family: Despite the bickering and power plays, most of the Overtakers genuinely care about each other as family.
  • Legion of Doom: Building upon the one Maleficent created in the first Kingdom Hearts game.
  • Nebulous Evil Organization: The group is dedicated to the conquest of the entire universe, with their actions ranging from full-scale invasions of worlds to assassination and organized crime.
  • The Power of Friendship: The group's existence and success runs on this, as each villain who joins recognizes that they can achieve more by working together than they ever could alone.

  • Interspecies Romance: With Mary Sanderson, as he's a talking anthropomorphic cat and she's a human witch.
  • Then Let Me Be Evil: When Goofy tries to remind him of the good old days before his turn to villainy during the final battle in Quite A Glittering Assemblage, Pete says that he tried to have a normal happy life and it didn't work out.
