Samantha "Sam" Greenfield
Voiced by: Eva Noblezada
- Big Sister Instinct: Sam has this for Hazel, even though they aren't sisters.
- Born Unlucky: Sam has grown up with the worst luck in the world, causing her to lose numerous items, face constant obstacles, and stay in the foster care system long enough to age out of it.
- Cool Big Sis: Despite her extreme misfortune, Hazel views Sam as this.
- Conveniently an Orphan: Sam is a child in foster care whose bad luck has extended to her finding a foster family. The film begins on the same day that she ages out of the system.
- Cute Clumsy Girl: Sam is a fairly attractive young woman with a set of Hartman Hips. She's also quite the klutz due to her bad luck.
- Determinator: Sam's motivated to help her friend Hazel get adopted. Even if it means going through a lot of obstacles (including her own bad luck) to do it.
- Didn't Think This Through: Sam's idea to turn off the bad luck pump and have Bob turn it on again after an hour or two. It seems to work at first, but Sam didn't consider that the bad luck dust would continue to enter the pump at a pretty quick rate. This causes the pump to clog, explode, and shut the Randomizer down.
- A Girl and Her X: Sam (a human) teams up with Bob (a cat), and both go on an adventure in the Land of Luck. Near the end the movie Bob decides to live with Sam in the human world, which Sam more than happily accepts.
- Hartman Hips: Sam has these.
- Hates Being Alone: Sam ages out of foster care, and is sad when she has to live in her new home by herself.
- Heroic BSoD: She goes through one when her efforts to help Hazel get adopted cause the Randomizer to shut down and take away Hazel's chance of adoption, cause her to find out that Bob's actually an unlucky English cat and accidentally reveal to Babe and the rest of the Good Luck creatures (except for Bob and Gerry) that she's actually a human. Bob manages to get her out of it.
- Nice Girl: Despite her bad luck, she's very caring, loving, compassionate, curious and brave.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: Her real name is Samantha, but she's always referred to as Sam.
- Statuesque Stunner: Downplayed in her world. In the Land of Luck, though, Sam is complimented for her height, as the only other humanoids are dimunitive leprechauns.

- Cats Are Snarkers: He has his moments. Particularly this line when he was talking to himself:Bob: How was my day? Oh, it was lovely! Thank you. Just brilliant. Lost my travel penny and was chased across the city by an unrelenting human zombie.
- Cats Have Nine Lives: When it's revealed he had a lucky penny taped under his collar to pose as a lucky cat, he says he lived eight lives in Bad Luck before he got that penny.
- Expressive Ears: His ears will either be pinned back or pointed straight up depending on what emotion he's feeling.
- Mr. Exposition: In the teaser trailer, he talks to the audience about luck. In the movie, he's this to Sam. He tells her about the Land of Luck, talks about how things work there, and answers her questions about it.
