Littlest Pet Shop: Friends

  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: The ladybug, dog, cat, orangutan, bunny, messy cat, and butterfly do not appear in Biggest Stars outside of the promotional video and cutscenes.
  • Civilized Animal: All the pets behave in a human-like manner.
  • Demoted to Extra: Several of the pets make appearances in the sequel Biggest Stars, but only as non-playable characters who are to be interacted with when about to play a mini-game or make something.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": Although they can be named by the player, the pets often refer to each other by their species.
  • Foil: Each best friend pair are often foils of each other, showing a contrast between the personalities of both of them.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: All of the blue-eyed pets.
  • Life of the Party: Every pet takes on this trope in their own unique ways.
  • Palette Swap: Some pets have a different color scheme depending on which version of the game is played. Returning characters in Biggest Stars also have palette swaps.

  • The Klutz: Obviously. It often gets into sticky situations by accidentally making a mess wherever it goes off to. Because of this, it makes it easier for the orangutan and flamingo to find it.

    Mystery Pet (Unmarked Spoilers

  • Flat Character: Because the character is only formally introduced at the end of the story, there isn't very much to its personality.
  • Palette Swap: Is pink in the Country and Wii versions, is yellow in the Beach version, and is blue in the City version.
  • Pink Means Feminine: Is pink in the Country version.
  • Secret Character: Is both revealed and unlocked at the end of the game.
  • Toyless Toyline Character: Did not get a physical figurine in any versions of the game.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's difficult to talk about this pet without revealing a lot about the story, as this pet was set up to be a surprise later on in the game.
