Yes, Jolyne just lit herself on fire to beat him.

Six Parts in, and one is already expecting Stone Ocean to be nothing short of incredible, with the Part going out of its way to live up to its reputation of being the old continuity's Grand Finale in spades.

  • Jolyne Cujoh. Daughter of Jotaro Kujo.
    • Her first major awesome moment, after one humiliation dealt by Gwess after another, namely shrinking her to a small enough size to fit into a rat's carcass, and being trapped in between corridors to potentially get shot dead by trigger happy guards, Jolyne unloads her anger and dishes out karma classic Joestar style, by beating the piss out of Gwess with her newly formed Stand, Stone Free.
    • After her first encounter with Emporio, a Jerkass guard breaks her fingers against some bars and hits her in the face with it. She lets it slide until she gets a visit... from Jotaro. Then she punches out the guard in a rage.
    • She forms a bridge out of herself that allows her to walk on water in her fight with Foo Fighters. This also saves her because she ended up using so much string that F.F. punches through her instead of into her.
    • VS Marilyn Manson/Miraschon. All hope seems lost once it's revealed that the guard was bribed by Miraschon from the start, Ermes is bleeding to death and Foo Fighters is separated from Jolyne, who is now defenseless against the enemy stand taking her organs. Except not, as it's revealed she actually used her string to take the ball from the guard's pocket, with her proceeding to pummel Miraschon with the baseball 1000 times, winning on a technicality that even Marilyn Manson agrees with, saving Ermes and earning 1100 bucks in the process.
    • During her fight against Donatello Versus' "Underworld", which can recreate events from memories, she and Ermes are trapped on a plane that will crash. Their only way of surviving is to take two seats whose occupants miraculously survived, so they shove the occupants aside... and Versus promptly drops three children from the hospital into the memory. He's convinced he's won; even if Jolyne would let them get killed to save herself and Ermes, the guilt would cripple her. The solution? She gives the seats to two of the children, has Ermes use Kiss to split one of the two surviving occupants (since they're destined to survive anyway), stick the third kid in between, and reseal the survivor, so the kid will live too. Finally, Ermes hides herself the same way in the second survivor, and Jolyne unwinds most of herself into string and shoves it down Ermes' throat. The lengths these people go to accomplish their goals is astounding.
    • The stand C-Moon demonstrates its power to turn things inside-out by punching Jolyne in the legs, crippling her... until she kicks C-Moon in the fists to reverse the process. When C-Moon starts aiming for her heart and chest, Jolyne weaves her body into a Mobius strip so that they can't be inverted.
    • Both those Jolyne moments pale in comparison to the time she set her whole body on fire to make her enemy's attack stop working!!
      • Though some credit should be given to her opponent, Rikiel. When Jolyne sets herself on fire, he actually expresses admiration for her determination... and then he sets himself on fire, to try and discover a flaw in her tactic. He does.
    • During her fight with Guard Westwood, a meteorite is pulled towards Planet Waves—with Jolyne directly in between—as Westwood kicks her. Just getting out of the way won't help, because Planet Waves will make the meteorite disintegrate by the time it gets anywhere near Westwood. Solution: Jolyne steals Westwood's boot, places a brick in it, and positions it so the meteorite will fly in. Planet Waves can make the meteorite disintegrate because that's what it's controlling. It can't stop the brick, though, even though it just gained the meteorite's own velocity. She ends it with a head butt.
    • Not long after that, her first fight with Father Pucci. Foo Fighters and Anasui have been taken out, leaving her alone, exhausted and injured as she is from a full day of back-to-back Stand fights (Survivor, Planet Waves, Yo-Yo Ma, and Green, Green Grass of Home). She herself has only barely survived Pucci's ambush. What does she do? Use Stone Free to chain the two of them together in a close ranged death match, preventing Pucci from getting the Green Baby and putting him right in Stone Free's optimal range. The following is an absolute slobberknocker of a fight as Jolyne and Pucci have to space their Stand's attacks by millimeters in order to stay on top, with Jolyne using all of her acquired fighting skills and determination to put her unharmed opponent through the wringer. If not for Pucci taking advantage of her love for Jotaro and discarding his Memory disc into Anasui, she very well could have ended the part right there and then.
    • When she came across Pucci at the end of Heavy Weather arc, Ermes correctly tells her, that he is too far and they won't be able to catch him in time. Jolyne proceeds to wrap lower half of her body (in string form) around the wheel of a car and push the gas pedal to propel herself forward. Too bad it was a decoy, created with the help of Versus' powers.
    • Jolyne's Heroic Sacrifice. Pucci successfully kills Jotaro, Ermes, and Anasui, leaving only Jolyne and Emporio. As Pucci moves into kill Emporio, the latter is suddenly dragged underwater. It's revealed that in Ermes' final attack and Anasui's own sacrifice, she was given enough time to unravel her arm into string, tying Emporio to a dolphin so he could escape. He begs her to come with, but Jolyne opts out, well-aware of the fact that Pucci can sense the Joestar bloodline. Jolyne stays behind and dies in a blaze of glory, charging the most terrifying Stand in the series. Jonathan would be proud. And like Jonathan, she does manage to do severe damage to the enemy, by cutting his right eye, helping Emporio beat Pucci later.
  • One for the animators. Marilyn Manson debuts with the last rays of sunset reflecting off it, and a sinister aura leading from Ermes to Manson.
  • Foo Fighter's respect for intellect and free will are such that she chooses to revive Anasui and heal his wounds instead of taking his (offered) body for herself, despite the man openly degrading her as a lower lifeform.
  • Her father, Jotaro, still has moments of competence. His time stop made him able to fight Pucci and he even had the chance to kill him, only blowing it to save Jolyne. Which also shows how much he wants to protect his daughter.
    • His first appearance after his coma is nothing short of impressive: Just when Jolyne's being cornered, and others are too far to save her from being shot by Pucci, a certain sound effect pops out, followed by a hand dragging Jolyne away, a Leitmotif plays... And Pucci stares at the empty wall where he missed his shots. Then Star Platinum throws a punch at him and sends him flying. It's quite satisfying to watch Pucci, a borderline Invincible Villain up to this point, to face someone who can certainly kill him when he has the chance.
    • Subsequent battles show why Jotaro, while way past his prime, is still one of the strongest stand user in the world: he can combine Star Platinum: The World's signature ability along with with different strategies, be it using gunfire as a diversion, or using Diver Down's ability to shield him for an opening to lay down a brutal beating. Any lesser antagonists won't even stand a chance.
  • And Pucci also does what his master failed to do: kill Jotaro. To ensure Jotaro can't catch him open with Star Platinum, he throws DIO's knife trick at Jolyne when he attacks the gang, creating a diversion long enough for Jotaro to miss his punches. With Anasui down for the count, he proceeds to swiftly kill almost everyone on the scene in a blink, including the invincible Jotaro.
  • Ermes killing Sports Maxx, the man responsible for her sister Gloria's death. Both times.
    • The first time she ambushed him and used her stickers to trap him in a sewage pipe, causing him to suffocate. If it was any other minion other than Sports, they'd be dead without a fight.
    • Then she faces an invisible undead alligator. Jolyne and Foo Fighters come in and F.F. gets her leg bitten off. She just gets pissed, lets her arm get bitten too and shoots it in the face.
    • The second time. Her killing him turned him into an invisible zombie and create an army of them from the cemetery. So Ermes pulls a Batman Gambit and leaves herself open to be attacked, counting on Sports Maxx wanting to eat her himself. The moment he chows on her skull, Ermes puts a sticker on her head to make a copy of it with her brains still intact. When he removes the sticker, the chunk of her head he swallowed comes flying out of his chest back to her head, creating a spurt of blood letting her know exactly where he is.
Ermes: Listen to me, Jolyne. There's tons of people who'll say, "Getting revenge won't bring your sister back." as if they understand what I'm trying to do. And others who would tell me, "Forgiveness is important." I don't care! There's no way I'd force myself to forget that my own blood relative was thrown into a sewer and just go on about my life. This is all I've been preparing for! Revenge is waiting, so I can decide my own destiny and finally satisfy it!
Ermes: What, are you going to try to run again? You can't do that anymore. Because I just put a sticker on your ugly head and spilt that thing in two! If I peel this, you'll merge back into one! This next one is for Gloria, too.
(Ermes peels her sticker off sending Sports Maxx to the direction of the other head leading to Kiss punching him back)
Ermes: Oh yeah, and the one after that as well!
(Sports Max travels back to the other head only for Kiss to punch him away again)
Ermes: Not to mention the next one after that! And so on; forever! They're all of my Gloria! (Kiss punches him) This one! (Kiss punches him) And this one! (Kiss uppercuts him) And this one! (Kiss punches him) And this one! (Kiss stand rushes him) And this one-and this one-and this one-and this one-and this one-and this one-and this one! All for Gloria!
(Kiss uppercuts Sports Maxx to the air and Ermes throws the other head at him, merging them both causing the finishing blow)
  • Jotaro gets his head about half chopped off, only to shrug it off and return to thinking of ways to beat his opponent. So what if Diver Down took the brunt of the attack?
  • Weather Report's Big Damn Heroes moment in the Torrential Downpour Warning arc. Both him and Jolyne are heavily wounded from their fight against Lang Rangler. Jolyne has gotten to the required location to meet up with the Speedwagon Foundation. Unfortunately, Pucci foresaw this and placed a guard just in case she made it and she is promptly shot. Faced with an unknown enemy, Weather Report does the only thing he can. He summons frogs. Specifically poison dart frogs start falling from the sky and manage to take out both nearby guards and nearly defeats Pucci then and there. Weather Report singlehandedly turned around a nigh-impossible to win scenario into the exact opposite!
  • Weather Report and Anasui vs. Pucci. To sum up, they almost defeated the Big Bad!
    • For a villainous example, Pucci ambushes them at the start, blowing off Weather's leg and leaving Anasui to transform into a snail. He also deduced that Heavy Weather sends subliminal messages that makes people think they're turning into snails. So he used his own stand to to take away his ability to see and negate the Weather's power.
    • They both make a comeback when Anasui used Diver Down to replace Weather's lost leg.
    • Later on, Weather uses his own blood to create a field of deadly spikes; Pucci, not wanting to restore his own sight and be vulnerable to Heavy Weather, decides to use Whitesnake to take control of Anasui and force him to reveal where the spikes are. Anasui is forced to obey Pucci's orders... but he can still decide how to obey them, which eventually results in this:
Anasui: This is something I just realized. But I sought, so I'll tell you. One more spear still remains. I was only looking at the ground, so I didn't notice before. There's some blood on your shoulder. And right about now, Weather's hardening it into another spear. (cue a shot of the spike threatening to pierce Pucci's throat) Oops, it's too late.
(The spike pierces Pucci's throat though)
Pucci: You planned these dirty tricks!
Anasui: Like hell any of this is dirty! Weather's just stronger than you!
  • Enrico Pucci after being cornered by the heroes including Jotaro after his C-Moon ability being thwarted, having no more allies, he manages to use his power to make the conditions for the new moon, managing to evolve his Stand into Made In Heaven, taking the advantage in his favor to the point, he effortlessly kills and outwits the heroes including Jotaro and Jolyne. He also manages to fulfill his plan of restarting the universe in his image- only being thwarted at the last second due to his own power being used against him by Emporio's trickery.
  • Ending of part 6: After Pucci's started over a new world, wimpy kid Emporio is his last threat. But since everything except Pucci's actions will be exactly as in the universe's previous cycle, he can't change his actions, and will hide in the ghost room. When Pucci tries to strike him, though, he holds up the disc with the Weather Report stand, and Pucci effectively pushes the disc into his head. Emporio promptly gets serious in the ways the likes of which only Joestars can dream of, and beats Pucci into a bloody pulp, before finally killing him off with an ability that Pucci didn't even know Weather Report possessed. And how does he die? He gets his head smashed into a piano and into the floor so hard, it forms a crater.
    • This is the kid whose Stand is ONLY rooms with things in it that cannot affect/be affected by anything else other than Stand Users. He also, while running from a sped-up Pucci, used a ghost gun from one of the rooms and fired the bullets, teaming with Ermes' Stand Kiss to merge the bullet with its copy, just barely outmaneuvering Pucci. Kid is basically a Badass Normal, with the least effective Stand for combat ever.
      • FYI, said ability that killed Pucci was Emporio using Weather Report to raise the level of oxygen in the atmosphere to 100%, as he coldly describes to Pucci exactly how nasty his death is going to be.
Emporio: If you breathe too much of it, your hands and feet will start to go numb and you won't be able to stand. Plus, the tiny [capillary] veins in your eyes will snap, and you'll go blind. You can go ahead and accelerate time all you want. Weather Report is a Stand that can control the weather. I already used it to accumulate a massive amount of pure oxygen into this room. And now, you'll slowly lose consciousness as 100% oxygen seeps deeper and deeper into your tissues.
      • Plus, Emporio himself wasn't immune to Weather Report's ability. He was DYING just to take Pucci down.
      • ALSO, added in the anime, Emporio of all people throwing putting Pucci's idea of fate back in his face. Pucci kept going on and on about how humanity would feel the most content and happy if they knew beforehand what was going to happen to them and what type of fate they would endure. Emporio, while Pucci is pinned to the floor, tells him that despite not knowing what the future held for him and his friends, they were all resolved and determined to face it anyway, and that the only one that couldn't accept their fate was Pucci.
      • Perhaps the manliest bit of it all: Watch how Emporio beats on Pucci- he holds the side of his head, forcing Pucci to feel the brunt of every single swing. Weather Report- still bearing the pure, unadulterated hatred towards his brother still lingered inside his stand- attempts to pop Pucci's head like a fucking water balloon. Emporio (or Weather Report) wanted Pucci to suffer, and by God does he.
      • As Emporio lands the killing blow in the anime version of the fight, Jotaro's Leitmotif starts playing, as if Jotaro and Jolyne are still by Emporio's side in spirit as Pucci is destroyed once and for all.
      • And just before the final beatdown begins, a sound like the Hamon being channeled can be heard, which serves as a wonderful way to bookend the series, at least for now; Dio was defeated, at least temporarily, by a fighting style that involved breathing, and now Pucci is brought to his knees by something as simple as breathing.
  • To truly emphasize how Stone Ocean is the End of an Era, the ending song for the final episode of the part is the grand return of Roundabout, with accompanying visuals referencing all six parts of the original universe to sweeten the deal. It truly has been a roundabout bizarre adventure.
