I'm looking for a new magical girl manga to read. My favorite is Sailor Moon, though CCS will always be a close second. Any ideas?
Nanoha. First and Second anime, not sure of the Strikers really... I did watch it, but for some reason it didn't feel as good as the first and second were.
Pretty Cure immediately comes to mind. Think of this as Sailor Moon meets Dragon Ball Z, or Toku for girls as well as guys.
Uta∽Kata is another interesting one, but do not trust that Ear Wormy opening. This show is more like a prototype for Puella Magi Madoka Magica during the second half.
Kamichama Karin is practically a parody of the genre in that it takes This Loser Is You to comically hopeless levels. You'll feel sorry for the protagonist at first, but then the nonsense begins soon afterwards.
Gakuen Alice. Okay, this technically isn't a Magical Girl show, but the feeling is definitely there. It's essentially Harry Potter meets X-Men with Pani Poni Dash!'s Surreal Humor.

These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.I'm mostly looking for manga, though. I have trouble focusing on tv shows, bc sitting still and adhd aren't always compatible.
Really, if anyone can rec any manga? I just finished Codename: Sailor V and I'm steadily working through Attack on Titan.
The Gamer is pretty entertaining. It's not gut bustingly hilarious, serious, nor has particularly great art, but it makes a great casual read.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I need something that'll have me hooked for a good duration of my 18 hour flight.
What's your preferred genre? What other anime and manga have you enjoyed? What do you look for in a series to be interested in it? I'd love to help you here, but we'll need more information. Either that or you honestly do want to watch whatever random show we recommend to you.
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.I'm good with mostly anything really. Just make it interesting. Perhaps a bit more on the light-hearted side. There's a pretty extensive list of what I watched on my page unless you want me to copy/paste it here.

Well... let me just tell you that you have opened Pandora's Box when it comes to asking me for free reign on what i recommend, several of which are obscure.
Do not hold your breath while reading this: Pretty Cure (all of the sub series), YuruYuri, Figure17, Gakuen Alice, Kotoura-sannote , Gingitsune, Hidamari Sketch, Kamichu! note , Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu note , Scrapped Princess note , Zettai Karen Children, Dog Days (War for Fun and Profit literally. Plus, Nobody Can Die ), Kobato. (very interesting premise here), Log Horizon (The MMO in Anime form that actually feels like an MMO.), Kamichama Karin note , Pani Poni Dash! note , Yuyushiki note , Manabi Straight!, Mahoraba, And the Rest here on My Anime List profile because I'm to lazy to list any more myself.
Ok seriously, you can breathe now.

These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.I could use a "feel good" anime. Something with a lot of energy, music, and action.
I'm already aware of Gurren Lagann, The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya, Kamichu, and Lucky Star. Preferably nothing with an open-ended ending like Samurai Champloo, nothing as absurd as Bobobo or Excel Saga, nothing long like Naruto or Bleach, and, though this might be reaching - nothing centered in high school. I've developed something of a distaste for those.
And yes, three of the ones I stated were in high school. It's because of those I want something not about high school, as I've had my fill.
To summarize: something hopeful and optimistic without being an absurd, 168-episode high school comedy that has something of a conclusive ending.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Dog Days, Log Horizon note , The Pretty Cure franchise note , Lyrical Nanoha, and Zettai Karen Children.
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.I want something with lots and lots of Manly Tears and over-the-top sentiment. Think One Piece, or Part 1 of Jojos Bizarre Adventure, or Gurren Lagann, or Great Teacher Onizuka.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. The best I can recommend is Scryed and Kekkaishi.
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.Soooo I need something to watch while i'm waiting for college to start in a week.
Iv'e recently finished Black Lagoon and Steins;Gate, is there anything like these shows that yall would recommend?

I'm currently in the mood for a high-HSQ, magical or sci-fi gunplay/fighting series, preferably with cyberpunk tendencies. Yes, I've seen Akira and Git S.
I like highly-competent protaganists, don't want too much humour/cringey stuff (problem I had with Kampfer, though the premise was initially promising) but not horribly depressing either (why I stopped watching Elfen Lied).
Something that feels epic would be nice - lots of mystery and/or mind-screw (my favourites include Rah Xephon and Lain), but is actually coherent with a big story and isn't just episodic (why I don't rate Cowboy Bebop as high as other people).
TL;DR - Shadowrun: the Anime / Noir meets X-Men
Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Kotoura-san, and From the New World immediately come to mind. For something Lighter and Softer than those, try REDLINE, Zettai Karen Children, and Lyrical Nanoha.
Addendum: How could I have forgotten Log Horizon? That should keep you on your toes for quite a while to say the least!

These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.I'm a sucker for anime with blatant fan service, like Heaven's Lost Property. Any recommendations for animes that don't even try to hide it?
Out of the loop, out of the way.Vividred Operation, Uta∽Kata, and Dog Days (give me a break with this one...)
Well, excuse me for trying. Fanservice is not what I primarily look for in an Anime, but it is something I come across fairly often anyway.

These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else....All of those are low-fanservice. I'd suggest something Highschool DXD, Seikon No Qwaser, or Dakara Boku Wa H Ga Dekinai, though I can't vouch for quality in any of those cases
To Love Ru?
Highschool of the Dead? Really, any titty-fighter/battle vixen anime.
Hey, does anyone know any series with a prominent Ethical Hedonist character? I know there's a page for it, but I was wondering if anyone knew anything that fit but wasn't on the list.
SHAMWOW IS NOT OXYCLEAN. A DOG IS NOT A BROTHERSmile Pretty Cure!. The title says it all right there! Also, HappinessCharge Pretty Cure! (it's currently airing btw.)
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.Whoever it was that wanted Fanservice should just watch Gurren Lagann or something.
If you want a deep philosophical Mind Screw animu then try FLCL and Madoka Magica.
I'm so sorry that my avatar doesn't appear fully in the shot, but the cat was threatening the photographer.
Ehh, Black Lagoon is apparently something he likes, if that helps
I AM THE PUN GOD ~Me , at some point in time
