- Alternatively: Super Paper Mario. Emphasis is put on the 2D/3D gameplay, there are plenty of mysteries throughout the game (Mr. L notwithstanding) and it's a departure from the other titles in the series, which makes a lot of Paper Mario fans avoid it.
- OP here. That was my thought too, but it's so obvious. Given Chugga likes to surprise us, maybe it's not?
- Emerald was a bit obvious too, with the "As green as our tunic" comment at the end of Majora's Mask. Who knows, though— it could be something completely out of left field.
- Super Paper Mario confirmed.
- It should be pointed out that only the third part was a hint, though.
- Honestly, I don't think he's ever going to LP a Kingdom Hearts game. And on the off chance that he does one, it's not going to be Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. In this live stream, he said that he was extremely disappointed all the Kingdom Hearts games except the first one and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. Chugga usually LP's games that he personally loves, and I don't think Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is one of them.
- OP here. That was my thought too, but it's so obvious. Given Chugga likes to surprise us, maybe it's not?
- Jossed. LP #19 is not a Wii game.
- LP #28 was, though.
- I'll see your Kirby and Okamiden, and I'll raise you to Kirby's Epic Yarn or a game that has cute graphics.
- Likely not a Kirby game; he stated in The Runaway Guys he doesn't really like Kirby games that much, and he said earlier on Twitter that he's been looking forward to doing LP #19 for a while. Also definitely not Okamiden, since that's for the DS and he hasn't shown any possibility of being able to record the DS.
- He has ruled out the possibility of it being on the Wii, GameCube, or Virtual Console. It's looking more and more like Ōkamiden now, if he somehow has a way to record DS games.
- Actually, despite what I said above, I think it's going to be Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. "Very cute" points to Kirby, he gave the hint "Mirror image", and stated that it's not a Wii, Gamecube, or Virtual Console game — Amazing Mirror is a Gameboy Advance game which he would play on the Gamecube. Only problem is that he's stated he's been looking forward to this one for a while and been working on it since October last year, and Amazing Mirror doesn't seem like the kind of game he'd spend months planning...
- You can try and confirm your guesses by searching it in the youtube search bar. Amazing Mirror is ruled out by the terms set in this tweet.
- "Okamiden c" has the first suggestion be "Okamiden chuggaaconroy".
- Apparently a third hint is coming that will make the next game more obvious
- Confirmed!
- Comically, LP 20 is a Kirby game.
- Another possible hint: Your mother sings very strange songs... Your Milage May Vary on that though...
- Plus he has a habit of doing underrated games.
- Chugga said that he would be doing a new series. Chibi-Robo is also a Nintendo Exclusive.
- Jossed. LP#19 is not a GameCube game.
- How is that cute?
- It would be cute to see him squirm from its awfulness. Alternatively, it would be done with commentary by The Runaway Guys.
- That wouldn't be cute. It would be funny.
- Jossed. LP #19 is a DS game.
- This is pretty much a given. He said that he would do more Pokemon games at the end of his Emerald LP.
- Yes, but by this we thought he meant Pokemon Colosseum and XD. Because he couldn't record DS Games at the time. Now that we know he can this LP is a lot more plausible.
- There's no way he'd do that, it'd be way too much work, raising two teams at once.
- But you must also realize that he spent over $140 on twenty minutes of game play. And considering how Black and White have to do with the whole Yin Yang concept. Besides... he could use version exclusives for each of his teams like Throh or white and Sawk for black.
- Yeah, money is one thing, he's a Youtube partner. But I don't need to be tech-savvy to know that there's no way he'd go through the effort of LPing two games at once. After all, he didn't do that for 1st gen, and he played the third version of 2nd and 3rd gen.
- Yes, but you forget that he has Played two games at once before.... twice! Super Luigi Galaxy and Pikmin. Then Luigi's mansion and Pikmin 2. And first Gen did not have the whole "Yin and Yang" concept, so he went with fire red. Then with the third versions of Gen 2 and 3(And as of now, let's just assume 4). Black and White has no third version. Not to mention that Pokemon is his favorite video game series. I think he'll go for this.
- Confirmed! LP#36 is Pokemon Black And White played simultaneously for reasons Chugga states in the first episode.
- There's no way he'd do that, it'd be way too much work, raising two teams at once.
- Jossed unless he goes back and plays them again which can take a while.
- He did eventually play it on The Runaway Guys.
- Confirmed, number 29. Side note: He's been planning it from day one.
- Mario Galaxy 2
- Confirmed at #42
- Phoenix Wright (any of the games)
- Phoenix Wright seems rather plausible right now.
- Now it doesn't, with the whole "received patches around the time of its release" thing...
- He mentioned it will have an unique visual style like Okami does.
- It does have its own unique style.
- More opportunities to make bad puns.
- There are PLENTY of yarn puns he can make, and Kirby-related puns in general.
- Narrowed down to games he has a physical copy of.
- Its entirely possible he has a physical copy of it.
- Not a Mario/Pokemon/Zelda game, something entirely new to HIS channel.
- Not counting The Runaway Guys, he never LP'd a Kirby game before.
- Received patches upon release, more came out later to fix the problems with the earlier version.
- HE'S ALREADY MAKING A PUN! HE COULD MEAN LITERAL PATCHES! Around the time of the games first release, a set of patches were released in stores to sell, there was a problem with the first batch so more were made later!
- The fact that its the 20th is special in some way
- This year marked the 20th anniversary of the Kirby series!
- CONFIRMED!
- I seriously think this one almost Josses itself, unless he actually wants to LP a game that he hates (which is extremely unlikely).
- It now qualifies for #29, though admittedly still a stretch. Since he previously played Sonic Colors, it fits the criteria for "familiar characters in a new location". Plus, he was heard referencing a relatively minor part of the game both in his Xenoblade LP and the Runaway Guys. The reference in question was to Alberto Robert and his special custom shoes. This may not mean much if it was said by anyone else, but Chuggaa has made a big deal out of minor Non-playable characters in the past, a significant example being Jim from Majora's Mask.
- My own personal guess is that its a pokemon game...Pokemon has a lot of spin-offs that differ a lot from the main series such as Pokemon Ranger, Pokepark or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I don't think those games are all that noticed or popular for that matter.
- It's Pokemon Conquest. The last clue was something about "world domination."
- It's Pokémon Colosseum.
- As a long-time fan of the series, I really hope he does.
- How about New Super Luigi U?
- Chugga's said on Twitter that he didn't care for Sticker Star, so that one's a bit unlikely.
- Well played. Well played indeed.
- He can make train jokes!
- Hear me out, my memory says the LP after Pokemon Colosseum would be a double feature. Although I doubt Pikmin 3 will be in it, I think Luigi might be in one of the LPs.
- Perhaps Luigi's Mansion 2? Brain Scratch Commentaries said that he planned to do Kid Icarus for his channel, therefore he could have a way to record 3DS games.
- Confirmed. He's doing Super Mario 64 DS, and we all know that Luigi is playable there.
- Take a look at the hints he posted on Twitter:Hint 1: I'm doing two Let's Plays. One is being recorded on a DS, one is being recorded on a 3DS.Hint 2: Both games have been remade and I'm playing the most-complete version of both.Hint 3: Both games are from series you've previously seen on my channel, but they will be the last sequel LPs on my channel for a long time.
- This would fit perfectly well to Pokémon Platinum and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DXnote . The 3DS-version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time could technically also fit in this, though he once mentioned that he has no intention to LP The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time since "everybody already knows it's story".
- Except that he's essentially all but denied that Pokémon Platinum is his next project. He doesn't like to do multiple games from the same series in a row, and he just finished Colosseum. I don't know exactly what he'll play for the DS LP, but the 3DS has to be either Link's Awakening DX or Ocarina of Time 3D. LA fits better with the "most complete version" qualifier, but he could have changed his mind about Ocarina. If so, he would probably do it as LP#23. Because twenty-three is number one.
- Platinum is Jossed, but Link's Awakening is Confirmed.
- Platinum was confirmed as of Dec 19, 2015. note
- The above guess includes the three hints that Chugga has given, including the facts that both projects are remakes from series he has played before. As Colosseum has finished, Chugga will probably not do another Pokemon game (a series full of remakes). Chugga's previous projects include Super Mario Sunshine, Super
MarioLuigi Galaxy, and Majora's Mask. To my knowledge, there are no Kirby remakes for the Nintendo DS or 3DS, nor are there Mother, Pikmin, Okami, or Paper Mario remakes. And while the 3DS has access to Zelda remakes on the Nintendo eShop, Chugga has not played a game of similar visual quality since Pokemon Crystal, which was project #10.- Kirby Super Star Ultra? It's a possibility, but I would definitely guess Super Mario 64 DS first. Although it'd be weird to see another Let's Player playing both Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time...
- Chuggaa just said on his twitter that most people have one game right and one game wrong. With that said, I think the Super Mario 64 DS is the correct one since he hasn't played a main series Mario game in a while. I don't know about the other game though, but remember...just because Chuggaa is recording on 3DS, doesn't mean that the game is a 3DS game.
- Jossed on Ocarina of Time. Chuggaa's next LP involving Zelda is Link's Awakening.
- Confirmed on Super Mario 64 DS though.
- Kirby Super Star Ultra? It's a possibility, but I would definitely guess Super Mario 64 DS first. Although it'd be weird to see another Let's Player playing both Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time...
- He says Link's Awakening and Mario 64 will be the last "sequel" LPs on his channel for a while. Metroid is one of Nintendo's flagship franchises, and one that Chuggaa's never done a game in.
- Dare I ask it: Other M, maybe?
- Probably not. He said no sequel games. Other M is a sequel to Super Metroid (which he played once at 17, got stuck early on, and waited until 26 and a TRG LP to finally finish), and doesn't work very well as a standalone story. It's also unlikely that he'll ever LP Metroid Fusion for the same reasons.
- Maybe. It'd be interesting to see him play the series.
- It's just kinda fitting seeing he did New Super Mario Bros U for TRG. Be aware this is at ANY POINT (up to January 1st, 2015. I started this on (May 5th, 2013.)
- Confirmed, The Runaway Guys are doing it.
- He did mention that he researched another country's culture and mythology for a future LP on one of his Facebook posts, and seeing as how Asura's Wrath is based off of Hindu and Buddhist mythology, it fits the criteria as well. And let's not forget that Chugga loves to LP games that are considered underrated, and many agree that Asura's Wrath is one of Capcom's most underrated titles. Plus, there is plenty of fantastic music for him to gush over.
- Jossed. It's either a platformer or a third-person shooter.
- So, the reasoning behind Sonic is pretty obvious. The Sonic series has a kind spot in Chugga's heart since day one, with Sonic 2 being his very first video game ever and so forth (quote needed, but I know he talked about it in one video). So it is not only a game series he loves with it's flaws (such as the glaring flaw of Sonic Next Gen as a whole, except possibly the music), it would be fitting that after five years of LPing, he picks up a game of this series - especially since it fits the hints so well (a platformer that's non-Nintendo and non-first party). My guess would be Sonic Adventure DX, because since it's on the GameCube, it's no longer first party, fitting the bill perfectly.
- It is possible, I think I have seen some Genesis Sonic Games on the Wii's VC.
- Confirmed for Sonic! It's both versions of Sonic Colors.
- Star Fox was more guesswork, but, it also occured to me - there is (as to my knowledge, and I could very well be wrong) yet to be a third-person shooter Metroid that's not a sequel like Other M, actually ruling Metroid out for now. However, the Star Fox series has consisted of third-person space shooters from the start, and I guess that's what is going to be the new LP. The only part that kinda bothers me is that up to this point, most of his LPs were of pretty story-driven games (with the exception of the Mario platformers), which is not what Star Fox is really known for - but it might be fun to see him try something new. If I had to guess, I'd go with Star Fox 64, since it actually is first party, and, with Starwing and the unreleased Star Fox 2 being declared non-canon, not a sequel to anything.
- Jossed for Star Fox.
- He never was specific on what he meant with "First Person Shooter", so it could be Starfox or at least a Starfox Game. If this doesn't make sense, I will explain. There are basically various ways you could say "FPS". The "FP" part is "First Person", which almost, if not ALL FPS games are 3D. Starfox is 3D like, using various things on the SNES to their ultimate advantage. Future games didn't really need that, but there were those games that used things that the SNES used to their, well, ultimate advantage. Shooter can also mean two things. We al know about Galaga, Space Invaders, Galaxian, Sinistar, and a ton of other back in the hayday of the Arcade, before Fighting Games and consoles lowered it's name, but traded it off with ports of lots of our favorite arcade games like Pac-Man, Bubble Bobble, and Donkey Kong. We know that all of the games back in the hayday had a great love for games in space where you destroy aliens or evil beings. Starfox is kind of like that, but it has different settings, and of course, on the SNES, with 3D-esqe graphics.
- Third Person Shooter not First Person Shooter.
- He said it was a platformer, for one, and a nintendo game he never played before. I know people will bring up the joke Mega Man 2, so that's why I mean "Legit", as a actual playthrough. It will kind of be updated at the rate of Luigi's Mansion with Pikmin 2, as the game is somewhat short. I think he might play 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 (with 3DS), 9, or 10, which are all on Wiiware OR VC.
- know it's going to not happen, I just wish he'd do it. It'd be even more fun to laugh at the useless but funny point-and-clicks. And of course, if it's Joins the Race, freak out about how Uncanny and Unintentionally creepy Smokey is, and ov course, the potential puns. "I guess you could say we're going golf, but to do that, we need a GOLF CAR!"
- For the obvious reason that he's done both Pikmin and Pikmin 2.
- Well, it does take place in "a land we've visited before."
- It's a Third Person Shooter from a Nintendo franchise Chugga hasn't done yet.
- Well played. But isn't Uprising technically a sequel to the original game?
- Yes, BUT! Emile is playing a game that hasn't been played on his channel yet. It also fits because he had to do major studying on a certain religion to prepare for one Let's Play.
- BrainScratch Commentaries confirmed that he would be doing that in the future at one point. Whether or not this game is that one, is the question.
- Well played. But isn't Uprising technically a sequel to the original game?
- Confirmed!
- I mean come on. He loves mocking Wario's "D'oh I missed!" line from Mario Party, and the games' puzzle-solving, exploration, and just plain goofiness suit him. The Let's Play could either be on Wario Land: Shake It! or one of the three Wario Land games rereleased for the 3DS Virtual Console.
- Or even the 4th one, if he's a 3DS Ambassador.
- He has the technology to do so, so I don't see why not.
- Chugga has stated that he dislikes Paper Mario: Sticker Star, so it's unlikely he'll decide to do an LP of it.
- He said the next LP would be from a series he'd already done, and it'd make perfect sense if he left Palette/Pallet Town to go on a Pokémon journey!
- Not to mention a lot of people who played New Leaf switched to playing Pokémon X and Y when those games came out. It'd make sense.
- He's actually playing them in generational/completion-ness order, which means XD: Gale of Darkness would be next. Though he's considered LPing XY(Z?) in four years or so.
- Not to mention a lot of people who played New Leaf switched to playing Pokémon X and Y when those games came out. It'd make sense.
- Confirmed, he said he's going to start Gale of Darkness soon.
- Look at his newest logo.
- It's not really a game, yes, but it'd be fun to see Chugga build a ranch of Pokemon and collect them. That, and I think he did have Pokemon Diamond, or maybe that was Super Skarmory... Either way, it's not a far strech.
- At this point (May 5th), we know only one thing - his next LP will come from series he hasn't done yet. Majority of people suggest either Xenoblade (unlikely, since his "big project" is barely past halfway point) or a Fire Emblem game - and this one sounds plausible to me. Deep, underrated, with amazing soundtrack - just like the games he likes to show.
- (OP) Chugga just admitted(on The Runaway Guys video) that he sucks at strategy RPGs, so it looks like Fire Emblem theory goes to hell.
- I am still holding out for Chibi-Robo. The series is very eclectic, to put it politely, and Chugga could definitely have fun with all the characters and such. The only drawback I could foresee is that the original Chibi-Robo takes a good while to complete 100%, as he likes to do.
- Aaaand it turns out it IS Xenoblade Chronicles 1 after all.
- Chugga seems to be trying to LP things other then just Nintendo Games or games on a Nintendo Console, and Bloons Monkey City fills in most of the things that are like that. Not only is it a new genre then what Chugga has ever done (Being a Tower Defense game), but it's not by Nintendo (BMC is made by Ninja Kiwi) and on something other then not just a Nintendo Console, but a console as a whole, as BMC is a flash game. The only issue would be setting an end goal due to the lack of such a goal, and if the Ninja Kiwi servers at all go down. It would, however, also allow for viewer interaction, as players could send the Supply Crates (perhaps 3 random people who followed chugga on NK would get followed back and could send him crates?) or, if he decides to allow it, send Monkey Vs. Monkey attacks. It's not that far off, too, as NintendoCapriSun actually made a video on the game with a strategy on the MOAB Graveyard special mission.
- The end goal has shown not to be a problem to him, in his Animal Crossing let's play. However, I don't think he will endorse a game on the PC. I think he will stick to consoles.
- Jossed. He did Pikmin 3... on its own.
Chuggaa loves to draw attention to underrated things. NieR is a cult classic with many of chuggaa's favorite things: good art direction (even though the visuals themselves aren't that good), fantastic plot, memorable characters, great dialogue with an awesome sense of humor, interesting design decisions, quirkiness abound, and an absolutely unforgettable soundtrack. It would come out of left field, as it'd be by far the darkest, most depressing game on his channel and unsuitable for the younger viewers who comprise a lot of his fanbase.
- Pokémon Platnium is also a likely contender, using "familiar characters" in a broader sense. It is the next chronological Pokémon game after XD, and features a new region, Sinnoh.
- But XD was his LP before Xenoblade? I doubt he would them so close together. I am more on the lines it would be a Zelda game. After all, he's never done one actually in Hyrule...
- Wind Waker is technically still in Hyrule. Though the follow up to Wind Waker is in a completely new land (sea?).
- It could be Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, because some of the event quests will give items for Palico costumes of Mario & Luigi, Isabelle & Resetti, and a player costume of Link.
- Now that he said it's a new series with characters he's played as, all of these guesses aside from Superstar Saga are off the list
- The original theory has been confirmed.
- The platform, not the setting. None of his LPs have been of a Wii U title, which makes it somewhere we've never been to (on his channel, at least). This assumption narrows it down to franchises that have a Wii U installment: Hyrule Warriors, Kirby Rainbow Curse, Pikmin 3, Sonic Boom or Lost World, and Wind Waker HD. My money would be Pikmin 3, since it features/"involves" familiar characters without actually starring them.
- It isn't Pikmin. He said on his Facebook page that he won't LP it unless he can record the gamepad.
- Can't be, he said it's a new series with characters he has played as
- The Pikmin themselves could count as characters.
- Jossed. It's Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga's Bean Bean Kingdom.
- There are levels in Sunshine where you use Yoshi so technically he has played as Yoshi. Yoshi's games is also it's own series. He also said the game was something that people have been asking for a long time.
- Not to mention he played as Yoshi directly in Super Mario 64 DS, though by that logic the new LP could potentially be a Wario game because Wario also fits the criteria.
- Jossed. It's Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
- It fits all of the criteria. It's a new series (well, spin-off series but still) featuring characters he played as. (If the Pokemon you send out to battle count as playing them.) Plus, I don't think he'd play a game any other major letsplayer was already going through themselves.
- It could still be other games in the Mario & Luigi series. It fits all the criteria, and he doesn't have to start at the first game.
- He does say in a tweet that he will have many stories to tell about it though, which fits PMD way more than Mario.
- Correction: He'll have stories to tell about "all the new series", not just the upcoming one.
- Jossed. It's Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
- It could still be other games in the Mario & Luigi series. It fits all the criteria, and he doesn't have to start at the first game.
- He made so many references to it during the later parts of Xenoblade, he's never LP'd a Fire Emblem game, and he links to all the Runaway Guys playlists on his own channel, including the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U invitational tournament. SSB Wii U features Robin and Lucina from Awakening.
- He's a huge story fan, as he gushed about Xenoblade's story. It's possible he also fell in love with the lore of this game. He also loves to draw attention to underrated games, so, why not?
- One could bypass the "characters from a previous series" thing by making Miis of them. Also, Tomodachi Life is pretty random-event based, so it's possible to get a wierd story of a Mii's day in-game.
- Why? Because she's a lot like Melia:
- Undergoes a lot of horrible suffering, but remains strong throughout.
- Has unrequited feelings for the main character, but can't be with him. Is on friendly terms with the main character's more "canon" pairing (Sumia) and doesn't bear any resentment towards them.
- Has very high expectations of herself.
- Also, Chugga has said in ealier LPs that he has a thing for redheads. Maybe that had something to do with all the Daisy stuff with TRG...
- Chugga stated it had motion controls, so it could be The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess or The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
- It's sort of leaning towards Twilight Princess. Chugga's latest hint states that it's a sequel to a game that has been on his channel. According to the Hyrule Historia timeline (if it was to be believed), Twilight Princess takes place sometime after Majora's Mask, which could technically mean that it's a sequel in a timeline sense.
- Jossed. It's Pikmin 3.
- At least this, or it's remaster, Unfolded. He's praised games like Okami and such for their artstyle. Granted, it's not a Nintendo game, but Okami was ported to the PlayStation 3. So it might be fair game to assume this.
- Chugga's latest hint is that his next LP is a sequel to something that has been on his channel. He also said that the game he originally planned to LP after Xenoblade had motion controls.
- Jossed. It's Pikmin 3.
- Galaxy 2 was later confirmed at #42.
- Jossed. It's Pikmin 3.
- Seeing the above WMG about it being Twilight Princess will not be true, same as with it being Skyward Sword.
- Confirmed; It's Pikmin 3.
- Chugga's latest hint says that his new audio setup has 14 cables. His 14th LP was Luigi's Mansion. It also fits the other hints: it's a sequel to something on his channel, and it has motion control in the form of gyro.
- Jossed. It's Pikmin 3.
- It's would later become LP #32
- Jossed. It's Pikmin 3.
- Well, he hasn't done a Pokemon game in awhile...
- At the end of Pikmin 3 he did say "See you guys next time, for a really long awaited continuation."
- His latest hint is based on the titles of one of his Pikmin 3 videos. One of them is titled "Oppressor Oak".
- Confirmed!
- Chugga has mentioned on Twitter that he really enjoyed the game and that it's unfortunate it hasn't done well outside of Japan. It's also quite similar to both Pokemon as a Mons franchise and Okami as a game heavily inspired by Japanese mythology.
- There's a lot of puns. He could have so many jokes to make! He has also mentioned on Twitter that he finds to be a good, but very flawed game.
- A fantastic yet underrated/underknown RPG that got screwed over due to lack of release in the west, with a deep, thoughtful story, great characters, and wonderful music..... I'm struggling to see any of Chugga's boxes this game doesn't check.
- He did once mention something about remaking an old LP, and this game is technically a series revisit he hasn't covered in a very long time. In the most extreme definition possible. Other realistic choices could be a Zelda game (Last one was #22, Link's Awakening) or a Kirby game (#20, Kirby's Epic Yarn).
- In regards to the Zelda idea, if he does a game from this series, it's either going to be the Oracle games, Phantom Hourglass, or Skyward Sword. All of these are often criticized games, and it'd fit for him to play a game that not a lot of people give a lot of love. Not to mention, the Oracle titles are similar in structure to Link's Awakening, and Phantom Hourglass makes the most sense as it's a direct sequel to Wind Waker. As for Kirby, if he were to do one of these games, he'd probably settle for either the remakes (Nightmare in Dreamland, Super Star Ultra), a unique addition to the standard formula (Amazing Mirror, Squeak Squad), or a new idea like Epic Yarn (Mass Attack, Canvas Curse, Rainbow Curse).
- Luigi's Mansion could be another choice, considering Dark Moon came out some years ago. Paper Mario is another, though unlikely, consideration. But then again, last time I checked his opinion of Sticker Star isn't great.
- Chugga stated on Twitter that LP #32 will not be an RPG, so a replay of EarthBound is jossed.
- The replay of EarthBound would be confirmed at a later number.
- It comes out this July, so it's a possibility.
- That's unlikely since Chugga once said that he doesn't like to do blind LPs because they don't fit his informative style, if I recall correctly.
- Jossed: Chuggaa said the new LP is "a revisit to something we haven't seen in a while." He's never played a Monster Hunter game before.
- The single player will be on Chugga's channel. So will the Amiibo missions.
- There will be a tournament for the 1-on-1 feature.
- Chuggaa will do the final splatfest as a bonus episode.
- Jossed: Chuggaa said the new LP is "a revisit to something we haven't seen in a while."
- However Splatoon is LP #33
- Jossed: Chuggaa said the new LP is "a revisit to something we haven't seen in a while."
- Chugga did an LP on Luigi's Mansion so it makes sense to LP it's sequel. Considering that the hints were "something we hadn't seen in a long time, It's not an RPG and it's playable on 3DS", the finger is pointing towards it. He LP Luigi's Mansion back in 2011, which is a long time considering to some, the game is an Action-Adventure, not an RPG, and it's on the 3DS.
- Confirmed!
- So far, Chuggaa stated that the LP will be a revisit of a series he hasn't done an LP of in a while, is not an RPG, and is playable on the Nintendo 3DS. These games fit all the criteria since the last time Chuggaa did an LP of a Zelda game was The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening in 2013, the Zelda games are action-adventure games, not RPGs, and Ocarina of Time was remade for the 3DS while the Oracle games are available on the system's virtual console.
- Jossed It's Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
- Potentially unlikely due to Chuggaa's phrasing "in at least some way playable on 3DS" versus outright saying it's a 3DS game.
- This one is confirmed, everything else is Jossed.
- Kirby Super Star Ultra
- Kirby Squeak Squad
- Kirby Mass Attack
- Kirby Triple Deluxe (See reasoning for Dark Moon)
- Kirby Planet Robobot (See reasoning for Dark Moon)
- 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure (Might be too simplistic for him. The only NES game he's played was an RPG.)
- Kirby's Dream Land 2 (Might be too simplistic)
- Kirby Canvas Curse (Might be too simplistic)
- Kirby & the Amazing Mirror (Only available as an ambassador title, which might discount it)
- Kirby's Dream Land (Highly unlikely - incredibly simplistic)
- Kirby's Pinball Land/Block Ball/Star Stacker (Highly unlikely - incredibly simplistic)
- A Link to the Past (Unlikely since last time I checked, Chuggaa does not have a very high opinion of this game and he only LPs games he personally enjoys.)
- Ocarina of Time 3D
- Phantom Hourglass
- Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages (I can't see him covering these separately. He'd probably want to cover all the linked game features.)
- Spirit Tracks (I figure he'll play Phantom Hourglass before this though)
- A Link Between Worlds (See reasoning for Dark Moon)
- The Legend of Zelda/The Adventure of Link (Might be too simplistic for him. The only NES game he's played was an RPG.)
- The Minish Cap (Only available as an ambassador title, which might discount it)
- Four Swords Anniversary Edition/Tri Force Heroes (Highly unlikely - multiplayer focused)
- Sonic Rush
- Sonic Rush Adventure
- Sonic Colors (He never got around to showing off the DS version as promised and he actually advertised the Pokémon FireRed post-game as a new LP with hints as well.)
- Sonic Generations
- Sonic Lost World
- Game Gear games (1/2/Triple Trouble/Blast/Labyrinth/Drift 2 - Combination of overly simplistic and not very notable before major entries in the franchise)
- It was confirmed that LP #32 is Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. So, the rest, besides Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon are Jossed.
- More info: In his Dark Moon LP, he gets attacked by an octopus taxidermy in the Treacherous Mansion. He says that he will be defeating its kind in the very near future, heavily implying that his next project includes cephalopod enemies of some kind...
- THE OCTARIANS ARE COMING!
- This is looking more likely since Chuggaa stated on Twitter that LP #33 will have a different structure than his other LPs, and Splatoon would be the first multiplayer focused game he covers. In addition Chuggaa also mentioned the next game he LPs will have a post-apocalyptic setting, which Splatoon haves. Plus Splatoon is not part of a series Chuggaa has covered before.
- Confirmed.
- Chuggaaconroy has mentioned on his Twitter in the past that he actually quite likes Yo-kai Watch, despite him considering it a flawed game. Not only that, but keep in mind the term "Something new". This obviously hints at a series that he hasn't done before, so Mario, Legend of Zelda and Pokemon are out of the picture. It's also worth mentioning that the game is filled to the brim with Japanese mythology references. So, if it's the "Wackiest idea for an LP he's ever done", Yo-kai Watch may be a good contender. And if we go off of the Quirky Work WMG, and the idea of the main enemy being a cephalopod, it's worth mentioning the final boss of Yo-kai Watch is also an octopus-inspired being.
- Sly Cooper is heavily underrated, not known by much people and was dwarfed by Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank during the PS2 timeline. He has gotten a cult following, but is still underrated. If Chugga LP's it, It might get more traction and help the Sly Cooper movie in the long run.
- He is a self-admitted Laytonholic, having imported a European 3DS just to play Azran Legacy early. On top of this, he's even toyed with the idea of doing a Professor Layton LP before- while he initially dismissed it due to not knowing how to make an LP of what is, basically, a visual novel entertaining, the rise of LPers (i.e., Lucahjin and NCS) making successful Ace Attorney LPs lends some precedent to the idea, and, let's face it, if anyone could make it entertaining, it's Chugga. What really clinches it, though, is the "wackiest idea for an LP yet" hint- not only is Professor Layton a Quirky Work as is, but, as aforementioned, he was tentative to play it due to concern over how well it would translate to an LP- making for one wacky let's play idea.
- He has stated he enjoys the game, even though initially disliking the game, is in a franchise and genre he has NEVER Lped, with the hint of the Lp having a different structure to any of his other LPs it could be this game, and if anyone could, and would Lp this in a new way, it's Emile.
- All of the above are Jossed, LP #33 is Splatoon.
- He has said the game is one he "Hopes to change some people's minds on". This suggests that it's a game with a decent amount of hate, dislike, and/or neglect surrounding it. So far, my guesses are...
- Additionally: He has stated that he was worried that it would be ported to the Nintendo Switch before he uploaded it. This makes it more likely that the LP will be a Wii U game.
- He also stated that the LP will be of a game that is playable on the Wii U, but is not a Wii U game. This means LP #34 is either a Wii game (backwards compatible with Wii U) or a game available on the Wii U's Virtual Console.
- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword: This game is one that gets a lot of flack, especially from certain members of the Zelda fanbase.
- Yo-kai Watch: Another game that gets quite a bit of flack on the internet, Chuggaa has stated he finds it to be a good, but flawed, game.
- Jossed. Not playable on the Wii U.
- Feel free to list your guesses below!
- The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass: He stated in previous videos he doesn't think this game is as bad as people make it out to be.
- Paper Mario: Color Splash: While he has stated that he dislikes Paper Mario: Sticker Star, he has stated on Twitter that he enjoys this game. Though, this is probably unlikely since the game has only been out for two months at the time of this writing, and Chuggaa sdoesn't like to LP games that haven't been out for long.
- Paper Mario: Sticker Star: There's always a tiny chance that Chugga has completely changed his opinion on the game. Plus, it is the next game in the Paper Mario series and Chugga has a tendency to play games in order. Unlikely, but still a possibility.
- Both are jossed. LP #34 is not a Wii U game and Sticker Star isn't playable on the Wii U.
- Sonic Heroes: This game is not liked by the majority of the Sonic fandom, but Chugga stated in one of MasaeAnela's livestreams that he does in fact like the game.
- Jossed. Not playable on the Wii U.
- Sonic Lost World: This game has received rather middling reception, while Chugga has mentioned in the past that the only major gripes he had with the game were problems that were patched out later.
- Jossed. LP #34 is not a Wii U game.
- Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time: Would be the next chronological Mario & Luigi game after Superstar Saga, and is generally considered the weakest in the series.
- Chibi-Robo!: A Quirky Work that seems to have all but been forgotten after weak reception from its 3DS spinoff.
- Jossed. Not playable on the Wii U.
- Xenoblade Chronicles X: We all know how he feels about Xenoblade on the Wii, and its sequel has received much worse reception than the original. It would make some sense.
- Issues with this are that it isn't majorly hated, it's even still considered a good game, just not as good as the original, and it's been too soon since its release. One would assume that Emile would want to do the same thing he did with the original, so he'd likely want to learn everything he possibly could about the game to do 100%
- Jossed. LP #34 isn't a Wii U game.
- Pokémon Black and White: It might be a bit too early for another Pokémon LP, but it fits the definition - Black and White are probably the most base-breaking entries in the series, and during Platinum, Chuggaa mentioned he likes the direction the series took.
- Jossed. Not playable on the Wii U.
- Skyward Sword confirmed. The rest are jossed.
- Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time: The direct sequel to Superstar Saga, which wasn't as well-received due to its gameplay changes.
- Partners in Time confirmed. Everything else below is jossed.
Feel free to list your guesses below!
- This troper may have to change his pants if it's the long overdue "Super Mario Galaxy 2".
- Don'tcha mean "Super Luigi Galaxy 2"?
- Luigi is unlocked after beating the main game. There is still over 100 stars to get afterwards, so it wouldn't workout this time. Unless he changes the name of the lp halfway through.
- It's either "Sonic Lost World" or "Paper Mario: Sticker Star", both being sequels to "Sonic Colors" and "Super Paper Mario" respectively. Both games are usually hated on.
- I don't know about Lost World, especially since it's not really a direct sequel to Colors. Sonic Generations pretty much is.
- It's unlikely to be Sticker Star, as Chugga has made it clear that he hates it as much as anyone else, especially in the Super Metroid LP on TRG.
- How about Phantom Hourglass?! THAT'S a Direct Sequel to Wind Waker, a Game he HAS played on his channel before!!
- He just did a Zelda game, so that's extremely unlikely
- Chuggaa will finally be able to Let's Play "Mega Man 3" on his never-ending quest for more subscribers. Because fuck doing stuff because it's fun, it's all about the subscribers.
- Paper Mario: Color Splash is a possibility, he may skip Sticker Star completely and argue it's not a "direct sequel" because it was exclusively a handheld spin-off, and go straight to the next console Paper Mario game. Plus Color Splash is also a quite divisive game as far as fans go.
- Chuggaaconroy did mention on Twitter a few months ago that he has a new appreciation for the Kirby series as a whole. He was mainly talking about the 3DS games in this context. If he plays another Kirby game for his next LP, I predict that it'll be Kirby Triple Deluxe, as that game is much older in comparison to Kirby Planet Robobot.
- If Chuggaa does play a Sonic game, it won't be Sonic Unleashed, as he stated that he doesn't like that game compared to other people. I think that on the (unlikely?) chance that he does play another Sonic game, it'll be Generations.
- Kirby: Triple Deluxe: The first mainline Kirby game that came out on the 3DS, often overshadowed by its younger brother.
- Unlikely. Emile said that every LP this year will be of games he finds to be overhated or underappreciated. Triple Deluxe was well received.
- Sonic Lost World: Chugga stated he enjoyed this game and that he planned on covering more games he wishes to change people's minds on, it's been a few years since he let's played Sonic Colors, and Lost World's reception is divisive.
- I was going to say Pokémon HeartGold since it shared its setting with Crystal, but the Crystal LP actually covered the remakes as well in some way. Maybe Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer?
- He did ask what people would think of temporary team members in a future Pokémon LP, and usually you could tell what future Let's Plays would be based on his Tweets (for instance, he asked about the Skyward Sword Update Channel long before his SS LP)
- The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. It's somewhat less praised then Wind Waker and Spirit Tracks, and the last time we'd seen the Great Sea was over six years ago.
- One problem with this guess is that Chugga likes to space out LPs of games in the same series so it may still be too soon after Skyward Sword.
- I'm thinking it might be Paper Mario: Color Splash. It's been over five years since his Super Paper Mario Let's Play. It's highly unlikely that he will do Sticker Star given his active dislike for it, and while it's gotten criticism for being more like Sticker Star rather than the first Paper Mario and Thousand Year Door, it has been better received than Sticker Star and can still be considered underappreciated.
- He just did a Mario game, though.
- It has been a long time since he has done an Animal Crossing game, and since he says he's "returning" to a place, I think he may plan on playing Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, which reuses assets from New Leaf, thus he is "returning" to the town of New Leaf in order to visit this Spin-Off game.
- He gave another hint that the project will be two games that work together, one of which has been seen on the channel before and one of which has not. That may mean the next project is both Happy Home Designer and the Welcome amiibo update to New Leaf (which includes an Old Save Bonus from Happy Home Designer).
- Confirmed.
Feel free to list your guesses below!
- He'll finally do the DS version of Sonic Colors. He said that he would while he was doing the Wii version, and if he is playing a Sonic game, it'd have to at least take place in Eggman's Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park, or at least take a level from Colors. He also said that every game he's playing this year is one that needs more love, and the DS version of Sonic Colors is seen as inferior to the Wii version.
- ProtonJon said that Sonic games were permanently banned from The Runaway Guys, but it could be possible that Emile might do Sonic Adventure 2 on his own channel because of this reason. Since Emile’s clue was that it was "a land he hasn’t gone to in a while", it’s not out of the realm of possibilities that it could be from a series from TRG. Kirby's Epic Yarn came from a cancelled TRG project, after all. Plus, Sonic Adventure 2 it is an over-hated game; not as much at the first Sonic Adventure game, but some of the hate is still there. Also, with Super Mario Odyssey coming out next month, it would be a good reverse role, since Mario and Sonic are often seen as rivals… And there’s the fact that everyone and their dog (or cat) will be Let’s Playing Odyssey when it comes out; it would add variety to everyone’s sub inboxes.
- Another good guess would be Super Mario Galaxy 2 (as Luigi?), since Emile questioned on Twitter why people in then recent years seem to dislike Galaxy 2. Plus it has been a very long time since he's Let's Played Super Mario Galaxy as Luigi.
- I very much doubt that he'll do two Mario games in a row. Colour Splash, another guess here, is even less likely, being another Mario RPG.
- Hey! Pikmin, is a possibility. It's been two years since Pikmin 3, so it certainly falls under the requirement of being a place we have not seen in awhile.
- However, Hey! Pikmin came out earlier this year, and Chugga usually doesn't play games in the first year after they come out.
- Pokémon Black and White seems possible. Granted Platinum was 3 LPs ago but Black and White seem very underappreciated and are definitely the least popular out of the mainline Pokemon games.
- Black and White are very popular and Chugga even pointed this out back when they were a common guess for an earlier LP.
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf Welcome Amiibo and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer confirmed, the rest are jossed.
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, probably one of the Rescue Team games but also possibly Explorers of Sky. I'm guessing these since they're not too well known compared to the main series, which fit into his underloved games theme. Rescue Team is the most likely as they're the first in the series, however most people would say Explorers of Sky is the best, and outside of the occasional reference to an older game the series isn't connected plot-wise.
- If he does any Mystery Dungeon game, it would probably be Gates to Infinity, as that one was less well received than the others. It certainly won't be any of the Explorers games, since those games are extremely well regarded.
- It's safe to say that Zelda is very unlikely due to how recent his LP The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was, Mario is super unlikely due to Partners in Time being LP #35, and no new Pikmin games release. So it's either a Pokemon Spin-off or something new. Splatoon did have a sequel released recently, but that's the problem, it was RECENT! So, narrowing the selection down to the following 6 choices he might make:
- A Pokemon Spinoff. Since he did Pokémon Platinum as LP #31, It's very unlikely that he would jump into Black or White without any spinoff. Two likely candidates are either the aforementioned Mystery Dungeon or Pokemon Battle Revolution. Then again, he could do any Pokemon Spinoff and it'll fit nicely.
- It's worth mentioning that that Chuggaa treated Colosseum and Gale of Darkness much like main series Pokéemon LPs, or at least fully considered them equivalent to main RPG games on console - This means that, between 2012 to the end of 2015, he actually began a main series Pokémon let's play every year. Not noting due to a pattern, since that'd obviously already be broken, but it does fly in the face of the idea that it's too soon after Platinum by the time of Welcome amiibo ending. (Or even the last series or two preceding it, for that matter.)
- A Sonic Game. Since ProtonJon banned Sonic from TRG, it would be a interesting sight to see Chugga return to Sonic.
- 'Sonic Heroes'? It does have levels with trains in them, and people tend to dislike it.
- Xenoblade Chronicles X.
- A Kirby Game. It's been nearly 15 LP's without Kirby. I think he would likely return to Dreamland. (Pun definitely intended)
- Unlikely. None of the Kirby games are really disliked by the general fanbase.
- Sly Cooper. Okay, here me out. Jak and Ratchet have the main spotlight as the PS2 mascots. Isn't Sly also a PS2 mascot? So, maybe he can shine some light to him?
- Unlikely. Emile has only played Nintendo games thus far
- Knack. Maybe he would try to defend Knack, but it's very unlikely he would play this.
- Unlikely. Emile has only played Nintendo games thus far.
- Chuggaa's newest hint says that we are going to a "land of trains." This suggests Pokemon Black and White or The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. But I think his useage of the word train may be metaphorical. I don't know how to say it, but maybe the next game has a lot of journeys, or something of the like. ...I have no clue what else it could be. So maybe Pokemon and Spirit Tracks are contenders and I'm overthinking this.
- Close, but no cigar - it is Black and White after all.
- Chugga gave us a hint that's not supposed to be a hint! What's a game that has a name likely to be misspelled?
- Though he just referred to said game as a "future project" so it may not necessarily be LP #38.
- Kirby's Return to Dream Land, a game he hasn't played before on the Chuggaaconroy channel but has on The Runaway Guys, where Dream Land was misspelled in the video titles as Dreamland.
- In Episode 79 of Pokémon Black and White Chugga referred to this LP as "Something he hasn't done before but has done before." Based on that hint it will be:
- A replay of EarthBound: Chugga has never redone a let's play, but he has let's played Earthbound as his first LP. He also stated he's interested in redoing it in the past, saying he can give EarthBound more justice. It would also tie-in well with his channel's tenth anniversary.
- A remake of a game he's done before but didn't include the remake- maybe Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga or The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D.
- A remastered remake of Ōkami now that the HD version has been released
- I wouldn't be surprised if it's White 2. He's never played a direct sequel right after a first game, but he has done consecutive games in the same series before. Plus, I imagine he'd want to LP White 2 while Black and White are still fresh in everyone's minds, since that way he only has to cover bios for Pokemon that weren't in Black and White's Unova Dex, thus cutting down on redundancy in bios when he inevitably does cover Black 2 and White 2.
- To add to this, the end card for the B/W finale says "Next Series" instead of "Next Video" like previous series finales, even as close as TRG's Dokapon Kingdom Let's Play which ended not even a month beforehand. Though, this could just be planning for the future in general if he doesn't do it right away.
- But that makes sense. "Next video" implies the series isn't over. "Next series" makes it clear that it's different content coming up.
- A Mega Man game of some kind. While he's never made a proper LP of a Mega Man game, he has played Mega Man as an April Fools joke before.
- A game that he played on the Runaway guys channel but hasn't played on his own channel like Super Metroid.
- Yoshi's Woolly World confirmed.
- Undertale is the first thing that springs to mind, but it's unlikely that he'll do two similar games in a row.
- Also, he said on Twitter it would be the first game with a bad soundtrack in his opinion, and Undertale certainly doesn't have a bad soundtrack.
- Yoshi's Woolly World is the first one that sprung into my head. It's a franchise that has never been done before and is a Spiritual Successor to Kirby's Epic Yarn (Let's Play #20). The only other that comes to mind is Yo-kai Watch, but I don't think Chugga would go back to a lengthy RPG so soon after Black and White.
- Woolly World is made more likely by the knowledge that the main character has appeared, but not starred, on the channel before, but that depends on if he counts Super Mario 64 DS as not starring Yoshi
- Wario Land? It technically is a spiritual successor to Mario Land...sort of?
- He hasn't played Mario Land.
- That doesn't entirely matter. Wario DOES fit into almost all the criteria given in hints on Twitter, as we HAVE seen Wario before in Super Mario 64 DS...
- He hasn't played Mario Land.
- Yoshi's Woolly World confirmed!
- This appears to be the game he was misspelling (it's not uncommon for "Woolly" to be spelled with one "l"). but according to his commentary in the first episode, it's not the game he said had a bad soundtrack; he likes Woolly World's music. So that hint is still valid for a future LP!
- Super Mario Bros. is definitely a game that kids in the 1980s would have thought as important since it introduced them to video games, and the Mario Franchise is still a beloved series to this day.
- Jossed. It's not a sequel to a game previously played.
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. Red/Blue Rescue Team, specifically. The series is easily beloved by fans it could be people's introduction to the Pokemon series as a whole, and with the last game's release being in 2015, discussion about the series would've certainly died down. If there is still discussion, it's more on either the Explorers Series, Gates to Infinity, or Super Mystery Dungeon. The first one isn't talked about often due to how obscure it is, and subjectively, less of a heavy story.
- Jossed. It's not a sequel to a game previously played.
- Pokémon Ranger: It's a game that is talked about fondly, a lot of people were introduced to Pokémon that way, it's been released on the Nintendo DS, and later on the Wii U, but it's not talked of often due to the fact that Nintendo hasn't touched the series since Guardian Signs.
- Jossed. It's not a sequel to a game previously played.
- Sonic Adventure 2: The game came out over 17 years ago, and was one of the first Sonic games released on a Nintendo platform. That makes it the first introduction to the Sonic franchise for many fans. And while it's still mostly well-received, it tends to be overlooked in favor of the Genesis games or the more disastrous latter-day entries in the franchise.
- A Sonic game that seems more likely to me is Sonic Advance given that it’s pretty darn overlooked and probably an introduction for many, since it was the first Sonic game to come out exclusively on a Nintendo console.
- Both Jossed. Neither Sonic game was released on the Wii U.
- Not a guess, but this upcoming LP game could be the one he mentioned having a bad soundtrack, since Woolly World was not that game. Maybe that might help.
- Confirmed to be the game Chugga believes to have a bad soundtrack, as he went on a rant in the LP on why he doesn't like the soundtrack.
- My first thought would be a Final Fantasy game. Possibly IV or VI since they skipped versions in North America.
- Jossed. He hasn't played a Final Fantasy game before.
- Maybe Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story? Hear me out on this:
- The game, while very-well received, was swept to the wayside for the most part and is even more neglected than it once was upon release. Plenty of people could have started playing RPGs due to the game, and just not really questioned it—hence, a game that could be important to people's formative years, yet isn't talked about.
- If we are to take the weird use of "draw these goodbyes out" in the bonus video of Yoshi's Woolly World, guess what the main antagonist is? Fawful—and Draw rhymes with "Faw"... Or perhaps "maw" given Bowser's whole eating thing in the game. This is admittedly, a stretch, however.
- It has been 2 years since Chugga last did not only a straight-up Mario series game, but also a Mario RPG. Going with the older theory that BiS is to be done in 2019, it's well due for Chugga to play it. Not to mention, Chugga does not count Woolly World as a direct Mario-series game, as his hint was explicitly "a game for a franchise we have never tackled"—still leaving the gate open for this game to come in.
- And, fitting with the meta Running Gag of Chugga's LPs either predicting or being predicted by recent Nintendo news, a remake of Bowser's Inside Story was just released for the 3DS!
- Jossed. Bowser’s Inside Story has not been released on the Wii U Virtual Console.
- Another guess is a handheld Zelda game, particularly The Legend of Zelda: Oracle Games, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, or The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (probably won't be The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks due to being a sequel to Phantom Hourglass). These games could have easily served as people's introduction to the Zelda series, and the handheld entries don't get talked about nearly as much as the console entries in that series.
- The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass confirmed!
- ‘’The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess’’ is a game that definitely has not been talked about in recent years thanks to all the hype with the newer Zelda games, and it has seen a release on the Wii U and another console (Gamecube/Wii). The only problem being that it is rated ESRB: T or PEGI 12+ meaning that it is unlikely that kids would play it.
- Made more likely by the fact that it's a sequel to a game previously played on his channel.
- Jossed. It’s Phantom Hourglass.
- Why? Because he started Pokémon Black and White on December 9th, 2017, and the two games take place two years apart!
- Jossed, it took him four years to do a LP of Black 2 & White 2.
- Professor Layton is a franchise Chugga has made no secret to being a fan of in the past, so the most likely guess here would be Professor Layton and the Curious Village.
- He's also discussed before (I want to say in either the TRG Pikmin playthrough, a TRG livestream, or maybe even just mentioned by Jon on an unrelated stream) that he thinks Layton could be an interesting series to play through depending on the format, such as showing the viewers the puzzle and letting them think about it over the course of the time between parts. It'd certainly be cool to see him do that, especially as it'd give new meaning to the Running Gag of Chugga's infamous habit of cliffhangers.
- Still possible, as Layton has seen a release on mobile phones, iOS, and Android.
- He is a fan of the Yo-kai Watch series, so maybe it'll be the first Yo-kai Watch game.
- Jossed. Yokai Watch is only on Nintendo platforms
- Fire Emblem: Awakening. The series has recently gotten a bit of a bad rap due to the amount of characters it’s getting in Smash without regard to the actual series itself. SRP Gs are also still a rather niche genre. Lastly, this game doesn’t really follow a “linear structure” so to speak because of all of the “Paralogue” and “Xenologue” chapters. He’ll probably allow us: the viewers, to follow the path we choose through providing links to different videos covering each chapter.
- Jossed. Awakening is not on any non-Nintendo platform.
- Sly Cooper, While yes, it's a Sony property, it's hadn't been touch upon, it would definitly shake up the foundation, and the first game, the Thievius Raccoonus, was the start of the series. Unlikely, yes, but with Sly being teased to get a TV show, why not get some poeple to try it out before it airs?
- Jossed. Sly Cooper has never seen a release on a Nintendo platform.
- Chrono Trigger, as he has been seemingly doing an ARG with the Phantom Hourglass maps that has resulted in the phrase "Chrono Trigger" being decoded.
- If it's the former, my guess is Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Going with the 2-year rule, the year's almost up, so it'd have to fit in here if nowhere else.
- Jossed on Twitter.
- If it's the latter... Ōkami bonus videos. Need I say more?
- Super Mario Galaxy 2.
- Paper Mario: Color Splash. It's been a long time since he let's played Super Paper Mario, he'll likely skip Sticker Star since he dislikes that game, and Chugga has stated that he feels Color Splash fixes Sticker Star's problems.
- Xenoblade Chronicles X. This would be long-awaited in multiple ways. In terms of his channel, it has been over 4 years since the last episode of Xenoblade Chronicles, and in terms of the games, it was five years between the release of Xenoblade Chronicles and the release of X.
- Unfortunately, jossed by Chugga on Facebook.
- Splatoon 2. It would make sense, since the last Splatfest happened, and, he probably would need to play Splatoon 2, before a potential future game causes it to become obsolete.
There is now a list of games that it won't be (as per Chugga on Facebook): Pokémon Black 2/Pokémon White 2, Hey! Pikmin, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, and as mentioned above Xenoblade Chronicles X. Everything else is still fair game as far as I know.
- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (or the HD port). While his last Zelda LP might be too recent to consider the series being used for #43, it's a main 3D title he hasn't played yet, and indeed, he's played the 3D games released before and after it (Wind Waker and Skyward Sword) without touching TP, which could make it feel "overdue".
- Splatoon 2: It's the direct sequel to a game he played a few years ago, and could feel "overdue" because it is no longer a new release.
- Pokémon X and Y: With the series now having two generations past X and Y, the games could feel "overdue", and it wouldn't be too soon in his franchise-spacing pattern to go back to the Pokémon series and continue from Black and White.
- The Ōkami bonus videos: His comment about it being overdue may not have referred to the next LP and these have been put off for almost as long as Galaxy 2.
- Confirmed, among others: it seems the hint referred to all the bonus videos he never got around to making, and not the next LP.
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon.
- While it ended up not being LP #43, this was correct in that it's what the hint was for - it just ended up delayed thanks to the (un?)timely announcement of Rescue Team DX.
- The let's play that this hint was for has been delayed. The new hint is that it "stars someone we've seen before, but not as they were".
- A second hint now is that the game/LP is going to be a shorter one.
- Hey! Pikmin: It stars Olimar in a 2d sidescroller Pikmin spinoff, and it's a shorter game.
- It's been confirmed that LP #43 will be Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
- A second hint now is that the game/LP is going to be a shorter one.
- If we're going for the first two, a Katamari game might be a good choice. Reroll was released on Switch, and not only is the game not too long (about as long as Triple Deluxe itself), the characters in it are tiny.
- Emile's second hint was that it would feature a character he's "closely associated" with. It's possible he might be talking about Super Mario Land (for having the first appearence of Daisy).
- Super Mario Land confirmed, with a length clocking in at just one episode and uploaded on April Fool's Day.
- Donkey Kong Country seems far more likely. Keep in mind that it has not been that long ago that he did Super Mario Galaxy 2.
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon.. It's been a long while since his last Pokemon LP, and it would fit the bill perfectly.
- Adding to this theory, he's said that Kirby Triple Deluxe was done much earlier than he originally intended, due to something getting in the way of the project he actually wanted to do next. He hasn't given out precise details, but... could it have been the January 2020 announcement of PMD's Switch remake that caused him to hesitate?
- I don't think it's Rescue Team due to playing both the Orre games before he went forward with Gen 4. I also remember that he said that he had to delay the LP before the game was even announced. Given the game pattern as well as his liking to play games that he considers underrated, I think if it is PMD, it'll be Gates To Infinity.
- Another hint given is that it has three versions. Red Rescue Team, Blue Rescue Team, and DX.
- This also opens up the possibility of Explorers (Time, Darkness, and Sky) and (*very* unrealistically) Adventure Squad. (Blazing, Stormy, Light)
- Confirmed.

- Hey! Pikmin.
- Jossed. The game has three versions.
- The wording of the hint says "the spinoff of something that has been on the channel once before" might mean it's a Sonic spinoff game, as he has only played one Sonic game on the channel before
- Jossed, it's Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
- Well, we can cross off animal crossing as he confirmed on twitter that it is not a animal crossing spinoff.
- He also didn't use the term "once before", so it looks like all of the franchises are officially open.
- The obvious answer is Xenoblade Chronicles X
- Jossed.
- He could be planing to make that Let's Play of Eternal Sonata that he wanted to do awhile back.
- ...streetpass?
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: A massive game, especially if he goes for all the shrines and Korok seeds.
- Jossed. He has played more than one Zelda game.
- Splatoon 2 is also an option. It has over 100 levels including the DLC, new weapons, subs and specials to cover, Salmon Run, and new ranked modes to name a few things. The second hint (this Let's Play tells 2 stories) would fit here too, with the main story and the DLC. It has also been played exactly once on the channel.
- Tales of Xillia is another possibility. In another tweet, he said the game would have two stories. Xillia has you choose a protagonist to follow at the beginning, and even though the overall story is the same, Jude and Milla have their own scenes and boss fights. Unlikely, I know, but I thought it was possible.
- Jossed. He has not played a Tales Of game before.
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It is a large game, theoretically enough to surpass the original especially if he does every Rare Blade sidequest, it is two stories in one with Torna, and he has played exactly one game in the series before.
- Jossed. It's not an RPG.
- This actually applies to most of the sequel LPs commonly suggested in some way, but my guess would be either Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 or Splatoon 2. Both of these games take place in a noticeably shared setting with a previous Let's Play, but both introduce that world in an all-new location not featured in the previous game (Aspertia City and southwest Unova in general, or Inkopolis Square respectively).
- In the case of Pokémon, it's also very nearly been two years since the planned beginning of the Rescue Team Let's Play, which (possibly not even intentionally) has been a pattern for the timing of Pokémon LPs, and Platinum and Black and White both began in winter towards the tail-end of a year (with the new LP presumably being announced around January or February, perhaps at the very earliest near the very end of the year, given the time Chugga will need to rest after the Gigalithic undertaking of Xenoblade 2.)
- Hint 2 Josses Black and White 2 - it's not an RPG

- As said, the hint does apply to most of the frequent sequel guesses in general, and this includes Bowser's Inside Story. In this case, it may not start in a specific new region of the Mushroom Kingdom, but it certainly features a lot of new places in that world... and there are many all-new places inside of Bowser's body.
- Though, it is worth mentioning we have been inside Bowser's body in a previous LP, for the final boss of Superstar Saga.
- Jossed - It's not an RPG.
- Though, it is worth mentioning we have been inside Bowser's body in a previous LP, for the final boss of Superstar Saga.
- Here's a wild guess - Mario Land 2. It's in the Mushroom Kingdom, or at least Mario's world, but none of the areas in it have appeared before, such as the somewhat famously odd focal point of Mario's Castle. Maybe he'll want to do a really small project to follow up his biggest one?
- Given the length of the videos he's stated on Twitter? This is unlikely.
- Here's a wild guess: Bug Fables as it would make the clue a double meaning. One because it's naturally a world we've never seen in Chugga's let's plays before, but it would also be the first indie game he's let's played. In addition, it has been confirmed on his twitter that he has enjoyed the game in the past.
- Jossed - it's not an RPG
- There's also the possibility of Luigi's Mansion 3, emphasizing how the game takes place in a very new place, as the hotel has just been constructed.
- Jossed. Hint 3 states that he's been working on the project for four years, so the game had to be released before then, and Luigi's Mansion 3 is younger than four years old.
- My guess is either Spirit Tracks or Twilight Princess. Both are in "a world we have been to before", while both are a "new" place - both are different Hyrules to the ones which Chuggs have played in before.
- Given the recent details, and the fact that four episodes are clocking in at at least 39 minutes each, I'm updating my guess to be... Breath of the Wild. There's a lot of stuff he can cover in each episode, and I can see him dedicating a lot longer per episode for Bot W than we do for other guesses like Splatoon 2. Plus, we have been to that Hyrule before, if only briefly, during Skyward Sword.
- Welp, I got proven wrong, because it's not Breath of the Wild, but... Well.

- My guess is that he sticks with the Xenoblade Chronicles universe and does the Future Connected epilogue of Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. It fits the one hint he has given so far, and in today’s post, he stated that "I definitively need this to get back into the swing of how I make videos." He said DEFINITIVELY when DEFINITELY would have made much more sense
- Jossed - It's not an RPG.
- Super Mario Odyssey. it doesn't just take place in a new place, but it's all about travelling to new places!
- Jossed by the reveal trailer for the new LP
- Splatoon 2. It satisfies the two hints that it's in a new place in a word we've been in before (that being Inkopolis Square) and it's not an RPG. Not only that, one of Chuggaa's recent tweets said that he edited four episodes of the series and the shortest is 39 minutes. Given how he structures each episode of his Splatoon 1 LP and the fact that weapon bios tend to be long in the early episodes of that LP, the shortest episode of first four episodes being 39 minutes makes sense.
- True, but those episodes were only about 30-odd minutes long, instead of the 39+ minutes he's mentioned. He'd either need to add in more Turf War battles or include the Octo Expansion as part of the main playthrough to make videos that long.
- ...Welp, I was proven wrong. It is, indeed, Splatoon 2.

- Judging by when Emile was born (1990), it seems like he'll be playing a game released in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Judging by what games from that era he already played (either on his channel or on The Runaway Guys), my guess is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
- Star Wars Episode I: Racer. The second video game that Emile ever played, according to the Banjo-Kazooie LP on The Runaway Guys.
- Given his love for the series (before Sticker Star came out), it's possible he might make another LP on Paper Mario 64 or Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, especially given they were some of the earliest games he ever LP'd.
- Confirmed: as the answer is a Let's (Re)Play of Paper Mario 64.
- Super Mario 64. He's played the DS version, but not the original, he discussed in said LP the significance of the game to his childhood, and The Stinger in the Splatoon 2 Bonus Video may reference all the playable Luigi conspiracy theories. And with his Galaxy 2 LP featuring more discussion about speedrunning tactics, he's got some close friends in the TRG family like MasaeAnela and FamilyJules who could guest & show those off.
- Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. We haven't seen a mainline Pokemon game since 2018, and any Pokemon since 2020 (and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon was meant to be even earlier).
- Confirmed.
- Xenoblade Chronicles 3. This may be an out-there guess considering that the DLC hasn't been fully released yet, and Emile has typically done games in their most complete state. But this game is definitely one fans of the channel and of the Xenoblade series want to see Emile's reactions to, and the DLC is confirmed to be releasing by the end of 2023. Given the next LP is probably going to be a few weeks after Colosseum, and the base game is as massive as any Xenoblade game, it could still be possible that it starts sooner.
- Alternatively, Xenoblade Chronicles X. Emile's hesitations about playing this was waiting for a Switch port, but considering that Monolith has been busy with Xenoblade 3 and Tears of the Kingdom, the likelihood of this is... unfortunately low. Considering the impending death of the WiiU Eshop, this may be the time to show it off.
- It's been a while since we've had a Zelda game...maybe it's time for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
- Or, alternatively, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Judging by how many people misremember him already having a playthrough of it, and the amount of time it's been guessed on this page, it's highly in demand.
- Adding more fuel to the Zelda fire, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is coming out soon, so people would be wanting some Zelda most right now
- A re-play of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. We are all still on a Paper Mario hype train and Chugga is clearly happy to be back into the series, and several commenters proposed the idea of seeing an updated Let's Play of Thousand Year Door, so it's clearly something a lot of people would want.
- Kirby: Planet Robobot: Considering how many comments were asking about it during the Triple Deluxe LP, it would certainly make plenty of people happy.
- Bug Fables is a possibility. He talked a few times about how bad the modern Paper Mario games are, so maybe he’ll be playing the good spiritual successor.
- Kirby: Planet Robobot: Hey, this one would be a lot shorter and the one for Triple Deluxe was pretty loved.
- A video game.
- A Let's Play that will become an Alternate Reality Game.
- My bet is Xenoblade, due to its sheer length and his love for it.
- My guess is that it may have something to do with Mother 4, seeing the website coming up soon and his love for the series.
- Confirmed for Xenoblade.
- Bug Fables: See above WMG for reasoning.
- A Hat in Time: In the Splatoon 2 Let's Play, you can see the game's icon when Chugga goes to the home screen. Besides, a quirky 3D platformer sounds right up Chugga's ally.
- Likely going to be confirmed, but we've only see him play games on Nintendo Systems or Games, and Nintendo Related Games. Minecraft is for PC, and we get closest via and Xbox 360... Not a Nintendo System, but instead Microsoft. Unless we have a port for a Nintendo Console we'd never get it. Probably won't happen, unless something suddenly happens and it gets ported, in a Non-Indie way.
- Uhhh, I'm pretty sure it's not because Minecraft isn't on a Nintendo system (he played Okami on the PS2), it's because Minecraft takes forever to beat.
- Chugga didn't play Okami on the PS2, he played the Wii port.
- Irrelevant now that Minecraft is on multiple Nintendo consoles.
- He's already jossed Sticker Star. No word on Color Splash.
- Since he is showing off the multiplayer, it seems like the perfect opportunity to show off a trade evolution.
- Confirmed - his final Pokémon is Dusclops, which was evolved into Dusknoir in the very next episode. However, he was evolved via trade with himself, not with a new guest.
- The Scare Chord at the end of Episode 14 has to mean more than foreshadowing the in-game event.
- Jossed.
- Clearly saving the best for last.
- CONFIRMED
- His opponents will have terrible weapons and his allies will have great ones. This will make it all the funnier when his team loses horribly.
- Jossed, Chugga not only didn't use the character's canon name, but he didn't even pick the boy. Instead of naming the girl character Rosa, he named her "Blaise".
- Confirmed.
- With the 5.0 update promising people to make custom splatfests, it seems like a ripe opportunity to at least TRY to host a custom splatfest to determine his next LP!
- Adding on to that, he'll have the two things be arbitarty things that in some way represent the games and won't say that's what the splatfest
- Chugga generally doesn't use the same Pokemon across playthroughs (I think the only times he did were Arcanine in Fire Red and Crystal and Espeon in Crystal and Colosseum, though that gets a pass because Colosseum starts you with Espeon regardless), and he likes to have a wide range of type coverage. He's already used Espeon and Umbreon in Colosseum, so they're out. He has his Elekid, so no Jolteon (and he also used it before). Glaceon and Leafeon are locked behind postgame and I don't think he's going to wait that long. Pignati is the starter and is a fire type, so I doubt he'd use Flareon, and Sylveon doesn't exist yet. That leaves us with Vaporeon.
- Confirmed.
- Chugga has always used a Poison type in every mainline Pokemon game (Venusaur in FireRed, Weezing in Crystal, Tentacruel in Emerald, Crobat in Platinum, Garbodor in White), since it's his favorite type. Unless he's doing what he did with Harmony again and saving the reveal for later after having already caught it, there are three options left before postgame: Amoonguss, Seviper, and Drapion. Since he just brought Harmony into the team after a discussion of how he prefers to space his teammates out, it's not likely he'll pick Amoonguss, since it's found on the very next route. Additionally, if he wanted it he could have already grinded for a Regenerator one in the Route 5 grotto. As for Seviper, he's historically been unkind to it in his bios, so it's doubtful that he'll give it a chance this time. That leaves Drapion as the only remaining option. Supporting this is the fact that he doesn't have a counter to Psychic types yet, only having Signal Beam on Aidan at the moment. Drapion would fill this niche perfectly, unlike the other two options. Finally, its only weakness is Ground, and it's only available after the game's Ground-type specialist has already been dealt with, so there's no issue of introducing it just before a battle it would do poorly in.
- Also supporting this hypothesis is the fact that Blaise's team currently lacks a solid physical Stone Wall (mostly sporting mons with general bulk but middling actual defenses, or Aidan), and physical defense is Drapion's best stat
- Jossed, Chugga mentions that he almost considered having Drapion on his team, but he decided to choose a different Pokemon for his sixth team member.
- First off, the team still needs a mon with high physical defense, as outlined above, which will especially be key for Drayden, whose dragons are all physical attackers (except for Flygon who has Earth Power). Tangrowth especially can bypass the party-shuffling effects of Dragon Tail by using Ingrain to stay in the field.
- Furthermore, the gym after that is Marlon, whose whole team is bulky Water types who could take a hit from McFly and easily KO him right back, which necessitates Chugga to have another mon super effective on Water as backup (and also rules out the other mon with high physical defense available in this part of the game, Gliscor)
- Offensively, Tangrowth is a pretty great mixed attacker, which gives it more versatility than the excellent Stone Wall Ferrothorn that Chugga already passed up.
- Finally, Chugga is well aware of the Breaking Old Trends nature of this playthrough, so his lack of a poison type is likely deliberate, meaning he probably won't bring in an Amoonguss as yet another Chekhov's Gunman.
- The longer he goes without revealing the final member, the more Jossed this feels, but Tangrowth was also very subtly foreshadowed in episode 47, when Chugga encountered a Foongus in the hidden grotto on route 13 and said that it wasn't the Pokemon he was hoping to encounter there (the other options being Tangela and the already-Jossed Skorupi). That episode was recorded before the Schedule Slip, so it's entirely possible that Chugga got his hidden ability Tangrowth in the intervening month.
- Officially Jossed, as Chugga's final team member is Crustle.
- Jossed. Not only does Chugga goes through the Elite Four rematch on the regular difficulty, but the Pokémon League rematch is not the finale to his LP.
- Good luck with that with Chugga being who he is.
- At some point, he and Tom may team up, and drive Helldragon crazy.
- The main villain team of Colosseum is named Cipher, and the region it takes place in is named Orre.
- A cipher is a method of encrypting data.
- A common form of encrypting data is shifting letters by a certain amount in the alphabet.
- The most common form of this is ROT13, where letters are shifted by 13 places.
- "Orre" in ROT13 is "beer".
- The legal drinking age in America, where Chugga lives, is 21.
- Therefore, Chugga chose Colosseum to be LP #21.
- This seems more on the level of Insane Troll Logic if you ask me.
- Yeah, you put WAY too much thought into it.
- Steve? Steve is a fricking TROPER!
- Given that Mercedes has a younger brother who shares the same first name as Chugga and is the identity of the Death Knight.
- It's also likely there'll be fanart between him and Alois given both of their fondness for making bad puns.
