It all started for me in 2018, when I visited this website for the first time...
How did that occur? Long story short, my older sister introduced me to Markiplier, who then introduced me to Don't Starve, the wiki for which, linked me to This Very Wiki’s page for Ambidextrous Sprite. Since then, I have been lurking here, in awe of how many things I know of are on the wiki, and how many have I not yet discovered. One could say it was my rite of passage as a Self-Proclaimed Connoisseur of Things That Used To Be Popular. As thanks, I am proud to admit that This Very Wiki thoroughly ruined my life by introducing me to things no normal person would know.
As of 2021, I am a registered troper, and my activity usually consists of removing messy elements and adding context (and being an Entry Pimp for some of the underrated goodies on this wiki) . Feel absolutely free to give me suggestions, and message me in regards to my editing. I greatly appreciate your help.
I also frequent the Wayback Machine, to see what the wiki was like back in the day, and to help me give abandoned entries a second chance.

- Beige Prose: My writing, when it isn't excessively verbose, tends to be highly concise, even if its clarity is still dubious. Whether I use either of them usually depends on Rule of Funny.
- Berserk Button:
- I'll admit, I'm quite a Grammar Nazi. Though I try not to point them out to people, there are many infuriatingly common language mistakes that I find really hard to bear. These include:
- Redundancy and tautologies of any kind, when they're not intentional or Played for Laughs. Though this is a much more common problem with Polish speakers, hearing phrases like "main protagonist" or "mass genocide" also makes me wince.
- Misuse of " 's", especially when it's used as a noun multiplier.
- Misuse/overuse of the word "literally"
- Misuse of the word "irony".
- Colloquial use of the word "theory" (unless justified by Rule of Funny).
- Misuse/overuse of just about any other word (unless justified by Rule of Funny).
- Slapping "POV" on posts without knowing what it means (NEVER justified by Rule of Funny)
- And, of course, using the word "autism" or "autistic" as an insult or hyperfixation label.
- Stating the obvious, especially as general responses to questions I pose. (unless justified by Rule of Funny).
- Baselessly invoking Godwin's Law (unless justified by Rule of Funny)
- Baselessly invoking Reverse Godwin's Law (unless justified by Rule of Funny)
- Anyone invoking the "Animated movies are for kids" argument.
- Misuse of this very trope.
- I'll admit, I'm quite a Grammar Nazi. Though I try not to point them out to people, there are many infuriatingly common language mistakes that I find really hard to bear. These include:
- Bile Fascination: Saying a movie is bland is a certain way to deter me from watching it. Saying a movie is awful will at the very least get my attention, interest, and, perhaps, a watch.
- Brilliant, but Lazy: I am by no means incompetent, but I am a chronic procrastinator, so that tends to balance out my productivity in whatever I happen to be good at.
- Brutal Honesty: Honesty is virtue, and I uphold it to a level of near-zealotry. That being said, it does result in such a frustrating side effect.
- Buffy Speak: Usually, I Invoke this for laughs, referring things I can't describe as adjectivial whatever-the-hell.
- Disco Dan: I'm a huge fan of pre-2015 internet, despite technically being supposed to be closer to 2016 in regards to what people usually consider "nostalgic" my age. Sometimes I still feel the need to reference some ancient trends, with the unfortunate result of nobody getting any of it.
- Dude, Not Funny!: I am known to have a particularly low tolerance for comedy reliant on human or animal suffering, and even the Asshole Victim excuse requires the target to be particularly heinous in order for me not to even feel somewhat bad for their misfortune.
- Nerd Glasses: Self-explanatory - I'm a nerd, with glasses. I've even been hypothesizing that there must be some sort of correlation between neurodivergence, geeky interests, and bad eyesight
- Perfectly Cromulent Word: Would you believe it if I said I genuinely considered using the word "britished" in a conversation?
- Nostalgia Filter: It depends. In regards to old internet, I am willing to admit that it was a truly vile place to be despite all the sentiment I have towards it. As for my own past, it is harder not to view it more positively than present.
- Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Whenever it is applicable, I vastly support the idea that phrases with an excessively verbose, elaborate, and sophisticated demeanor have a great deal of humorous qualities about themselves.
- Straw Nihilist: >Implying people can be a Straw Character in Real Life. In all seriousness, I have seen many label themselves as Anti-Nihilists on This Very Wiki, but despite my attempts at idealism, I still find the thought that nothing might matter more crippling than empowering. Despite this, I don't think this mindset justifies treating anyone badly.

Thoughts on Tropes (UNDER CONSTRUCTION)
Let's face it - Tropes Are Tools. But just because they aren't inherently good or bad doesn't mean I tend to like some better than others. Tropes I Tend to Like
- Affably Evil: What can I say, I'm a sucker for nice, charismatic villains.
- Faux Affably Evil: ...as I am a fan of the more deliciously-malicious types with upbeat personalities.
- Almost the entire index of Glasses Tropes: I'm a firm believer that glasses are very versatile. First, you can have glasses-wearing...
- Green Aesop: People dismiss it as a dropping ground for anvils, but I believe that this trope CAN be played effectively. In addition, we need it more than ever in the times when we can actually experience the negative effect of global warming around us.
- Once More, with Clarity: Might be one of the first tropes I've ever fallen in love in my life. For a good reason! Truth is incredibly satisfying, and truth being revealed through a cool montage is even more so!
- Villain Protagonist: These lads make some of the most interesting main characters in any media, ever. Love seeing them almost every time.
Tropes I Tend to Dislike
- Planet of Hats and many of its Sub-Tropes:
- Cassandra Truth:
- Even Nerds Have Standards: We're not living in the early 2000s anymore. Fandom Rivalry is a huge issue, and it has been Played for Laughs in web media for way too long. I'm genuinely surprised no one addressed that for years.
- Moody Trailer Cover Song: A breeding ground for Narm, and even then it's rarely the enjoyable kind of narm. Except the cover of "Everybody Knows" from Justice League. That shit slapped, regardless of the movie's actual quality.
- Subverted Kids' Show: Was never much of a fan to begin with, and though I never really minded it either, in the New Twenties, it's starting to get a bit overdone too.
- Villain Decay: Frustrating almost every single time, and can be prevented with just a single plot decision - just kill off/redeem that villain, and finish his arc!
Tropes I Have a Special relationship with.
- Standard Fantasy Setting: Sure. It may be lazy. It may be filled with tropes that were listed in the above folder. Though, I have nothing truly against typical fantasy settings per se. As long as one tries to tell an interesting story, it doesn't really matter, truly.
- Standard Fantasy Races: Same here. Of course, one does run into a risk of rampant unoriginality, or just making the whole setting a Planet of Hats, but I'd be lying if I said I don't enjoy these normie fantasy races a bit.
- What Measure Is a Non-Human?: I like when this trope is discussed In-Universe, and serves as a moral conflict within the story. I hate when it's used Out-Of-Universe as a justification for why some characters shouldn't be worried about as much as others.
- Yandere: Pretty neutral on this one nowadays - can be done amazingly or terribly. Though, I gotta admit, I kinda dug crazy chicks at some point in my life. Thank goodness that didn't stick!
- Yaoi Fangirl and Yuri Fan: People with obvious shipping preferences exist, and it can get quite funny when media show it. Of course, from my experience, the latter group tends to get portrayed more positively than the first one, which to me is a big no-no.
- White Man's Burden: I love when this trope is played as something negative, much like they did in Avatar: The Last Airbender, for it is a very believable, while also sufficiently morally questionable motivation for Evil Overlords, Evil Colonialists, and other such types. Of course, this trope being played completely straight is just breeding ground for racial/cultural insensitivity, intentional or otherwise.
