- Affectionate Nickname:
- Evan and Jason refer to each other as "Ev" and "Silly"note respectively, as do Fionn and Fianna. Jason likes to call Evan "Jellybean" as well, much to his own chagrin.
- Marionette calls Jason "Sil" and he calls her "Nette".
- Bash Brothers: Evan and Jason are more than willing to fight beside the other for a noble cause and rarely separate in situations unless absolutely necessary.
- Berserk Button:
- Freddy cannot stand physical contact and freak out if touched.
- Chica hates her name and mocking her with it will set her off. Intentionally ruining cast iron and food is also a good way to send her into a rage.
- Marionette will drop all pretenses and go full Mama Bear on anyone who dares harm children.
- Evan hates his full name "Evangélion" with a burning passion. Not helped if someone mispronounces it, and even worse if intentional. He also despises the insinuation or implication that he is cute.
- Jason will snap and start yelling or worse, get physical with those who hurt and attack his loved ones.
- The triplets will fly into a rage at any insinuation that they were responsible for killing their mother Delia due to the difficult birth.
- Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: In the core 4 kids, Freddy (brunette), Bonnie & Chica (blonde) and Fionn (redhead).
- Broken Bird:
- The constant Hell of an abusive mother, frequent bullying often resulting in serious injuries and schizophrenic episodes have driven Jason to be increasingly stoic, aloof and cold.
- After being mutilated by some schoolmates, Marionette has developed a serious self-esteem issue and is far shyer than she used to be.
- Brother–Sister Team: Fionn and Fianna and B.B. and J.J. Both groups will work together to achieve their goals and show substantial rates of success.
- Calling Parents by Their Name:
- The Fox kids refer to their mother as "Vivian" in attempt to distance themselves from her as she is an abusive wretch.
- Marionette refers to her stepfather as "Paul" due to unfamiliarity with him and discomfort with a new father figure in her life.
- Cool Big Sis: All of the younger kids see the older trio as this and love them to death, always happy to hang out and don't mind them tagging along to keep them safe. With how most of them have a negative relationship to their older siblings, the older trio end up being seen as a surrogate sibling of sorts.
- Coordinated Clothes: Played with regarding the twins. They used to do this due to limited clothing however by 12 years old, they've acquired a significant amount of hand-me-downs to avert this. However they do like to coordinate with each other and still do to a degree, often using contrast to do so.
- Cynic–Idealist Duo: Jason as the cynic and Marionette as the idealist/realist.
- Dark and Troubled Past: The Fox kids all suffer from an abusive mother, Evan had his vocal chords torn from his throat and Marionette was scarred by her old schoolmates a few years prior to the story.
- Emotions vs. Stoicism: Evan is more emotional and often uses his heart more than his head while Jason is quite stoic and prefers logic and reason. Evan is also far more outwardly emotional with his Mood-Swinger tendencies while Jason bottles up his feelings and refuses to express them more than a little at best.
- Finishing Each Other's Sentences: Voice or no voice, the twins can and still do finish each other's sentences from time to time, either by accident or intentional.
- Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Downplayed with Evan as the responsible one who usually has to keep Jason from doing something stupid and Jason as slightly foolish who usually enjoys trying the stupid option first.
- Freaky Is Cool: All of the kids are obsessed with the Fazbear Ent. franchise and the horror game series spawned from it. On an individual level, the elementary kids love childish-hororr such as Halloween, witches, ghosts and such while the jr. high kids are all into more mature horrors such as creepypasta, slasher films, monsters, myths and such.
- Identical Twin ID Tag: Jason's hair is to his knees while Evan's barely passes his shoulders. Both of their eyes are round, but Evan's wide-eyed expression highlights their shape to resemble tare eyes while Jason's narrowed expression makes them appear as tsuri eyes (and when drawn, their eyes are drawn in those shapes). Lastly, their sense of style and dress has differentiated for the most part with Evan wearing lighter colors with shorter clothes e.g. T-shirts and shorts while Jason wears darker shades and longer clothes e.g. pants below-the-knee.
- Identical Twin Mistake: On the occasion someone will confuse the twins for one another. Non-Animatronics tend to do this far more.2
- In-Series Nickname: All of them have one which acts as their faction names. Some have personal ones for everyday or online use.
- Evan = Ev, Jellybean, Jellytunes "Jelly"
- Teddy = Ted
- B.B. = B.B., Benji
- Marionette = Nette, Lyre
- Jason = Silly, Silly, Sil, Sylvania "Sylvi"
- Nobody Touches the Hair:
- Freddy includes hair in his "no physical contact" list and will screech if purposefully touched let alone grabbed.
- Jason hates his hair being grabbed as it's long and most do so to get his attention.
- Physical Scars, Psychological Scars: Jason's lower arms and wrists are littered in knife cuts from his serious cutting addiction. Marionette has two scars trailing down from the bottoms of her eyes to the bottom of her face from an attack years prior. Said incident tanked her self-esteem to painfully low levels and resulted in several years of bullying at the hands of her peers.
- Out of Focus: B.B., J.J., Gordon and Peter don't have a lot of spotlight in comparison to the rest, and outright disappear from the majority of the shorts. They have small roles in the main story but don't tend to pop up even then.
- Polar Opposite Twins: Though the twins can be act singled-minded (see below), they are very different personality-wise and with how they dress.
- Power Trio:
- Freddy, Bonnie and Chica make up the core three protagonists of the series, being best friends who work together and stick together in their adventures.
- Evan, Jason and Marionette form one and are dubbed "The Misfit Trio", acting as rivals to Sara and her posse and helping spice up 7th grade with the other Animatronics.
- Pronouncing My Name for You:
- Played straight with Jason regarding his middle name "Silva"note and Marionette with her full namenote .
- Slightly subverted since Evan cannot speak anymore but Ezekiel (his cousin) helpfully pronounces his name in correct Greek for others.
- Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: The spirits of the dead M.C.I. victims settle on a group of 2nd, 3rd and 7th-graders who love to play dress-up and roleplay as animatronic entertainers from the late 1900s to help them solve their case.
- Real Men Cook: The twins like to cook and often have to whenever their mother is content to let them starve.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni:
- Freddy & Bonnie though they play with it by embodying both Onis in a sense (they compare it to Wright and Edgeworth in-universe).
- Evan is the emotional red Oni and Jason as the stoic blue Oni.
- Marionette is the social and joyful red Oni while Jason is the loner and downcast blue Oni.
- Lolbit is the wacky and chaotic red Oni and Mena is the calm and quiet blue Oni. Bonus points with Lola being a ginger and Mena wearing blue.
- Scars Are Forever: Evan's throat scars have not gone away, nor Jason's self-harm scars or Mariontte's facial scars.
- School Forced Us Together: The main characters are a conglomeration of smaller friend groups that end up together due to friend overlap.note
- Shipper on Deck: All of the younger kids ship Jason and Marionette together, much to their own chagrin and frustration.
- Sibling Seniority Squabble: The twins will occasionally quarrel about this, with Jason being an hour older and Evan being an hour younger. Using seniority to prevent the other from doing something is the most common way of starting one of these fights.
- Sibling Team: Fionn and Fianna, Evan and Jason and B.B. and J.J. get along quite well (sibling squabbles notwithstanding) and are frequently seen working together to achieve some strange goal such as building a rocket to the moon, pranking someone or trying to score $5.
- Single-Minded Twins: Despite being polar opposites in many ways, they share a disturbing level of connection and synchronicity with one another, and are rarely seen apart, even if doing separate tasks. They also love to start, finish and speak/sign full sentences in perfect sync without fail.
- B.B., J.J. and D.D. give us a triplets example as all three of them wear similar style clothing and even speak one after the other (seen in Something of a Regular Day of School).
- Speak in Unison: Evan and Jason can and will speak/sign in perfect unison without fail if they want to.
- Spikes of Villainy: Inverted. The Misfit Trio all wear spiked necklaces (Jason's is on his ankle, Evan's is on his wrist, Marionette's is on her neck) and none are villainous in the slightest.
- Theme Twin Naming: Identical twins Evan and Jason have Greek names: Jason means "healer" and Evangélion translates to "gospel" and means "good news".
- Those Two Guys: Mena and Lola who hang out together and are good friends with the main cast though they have their on things going on sometimes.
- Token Trio:
- Freddy is South-African/Chinese, Bonnie is a 5th generation German and Chica is Spanish/Mexican.
- With the other three we have: Fionn (half-Native-American), Fianna (half-Irish female) and Seán (English/Austrian A.D.H.D.)
- The Misfit Trio are comprised of Marionette (Senegalese/Lousiana Creole female), Evan (half-Finnish Autistic) and Jason (half-Finnish Schizophrenic).
- Trickster Twins: They can be quite the pranksters and trolls to the general student body, even after their twin switch antics no longer work (Evan being mute and Jason having hair to his knees). Other student who are ignorant of their differences makes it all the easier to mess with them.
- Twin Banter: The twins banter and trade off with one another frequently...when not arguing that is.
- Twin Switch: Evan and Jason used to pull these off all the time, and in one instance, their antics resulted in them having names written on their forehead in Sharpie. Unfortunately, the names were switched, meaning everyone thought this was still in play until their differences became more noticeable.
- Twin Telepathy: The twins describe feeling eerily connected to one another and become agitated if they feel that their synchronization is off. They also mention feeling when the other is in trouble, knowing details that logically only the other would, even claim they can "feel" when the other is hurt and other things that bring to mind whether they're just very single-minded and familiar with the other or actually have some form of link.
- With a Friend and a Stranger: Evan and Jason (friends) meet, befriend and team up with Marionette (stranger) in the first two weeks of school and end up forming "The Misfit Trio".

Freddy is an excitable and eager lover of all things knowledgeable from science to engineering to gardening and more. He's a cheerful kid who can be somewhat naïve at times and does his best to take charge of a situation and get it taken care of. He's analytical and the smartest of the kids but can be ditzy and silly every so often.- Asian and Nerdy/Black and Nerdy: Freddy is half-Chinese, half-South-African and all nerd with his love of books, science and experimentation.
- Boys Like Creepy Critters: He loves to catch and study bugs.
- Brainy Brunette: Brown-haired and very brainy with good grades and an impressive reading list of fiction.
- Classical Music Is Cool: He loves his classical music, especially George Bizet.
- Cloudcuckoolander: He's very...out there...and incredibly spacey.
- Ditzy Genius: While he's amazing at numbers, music and educational subjects, that's just about all he excels in. For instance, he tried brushing his hair with a shoe in Something of a Regular Day of School.
- For Science!: Subverted. While he uses this as reasoning, he has no malicious intentions behind it.
- Hates Being Touched: For unknown reasons, Freddy has a deep hatred for physical contact and will get angry or panic if touched. It's so severe that his family wonders if he has a phobia of touch.
- Innocent Blue Eyes: He has bright blue eyes a very innocent mind.
- Innocent Means Naïve: Downplayed. His innocence doesn't necessarily make him totally naïve to the world, but he is much more idealistic because of it.
- Plucky Comic Relief: Plays this to Bonnie's Straight Man with his ditziness and strange behavior.
- Skilled, but Naive: He has great skills in music and science and regularly puts them to use but he often overlooks or forgets some details.
- The All-American Boy: Freddy is written as such and he acts accordingly, going about his day with joy and engaging in the activities associated with the trope such as cart-building, Cub Scouts and sports.
- The Idealist: Holds a very idealistic and hopeful outlook on the world.
- The Leader: The leader of the kids and takes charge often.
- The Smart Guy: Despite his ditzy nature, he is one of the smartest characters.
Bonnie Cottontail

Bonnie is the bouncing bunny of energy and reason, being the one to keep Freddy grounded. He’s passionate about carrots but otherwise is quite laidback and relaxed, content with his guitar and hanging out with his friends and family.- Dumb Blonde: Inverted. He's ash-blonde and possesses an extensive vocabulary and well-articulated sense of speech.
- Embarrassing First Name: Bonnie does not like being named "Bonnie" as it is a girls name and he expresses frustration over it in P.E. Problems.
- Embarrassing Last Name: He's not a fan that it was changed from Haisse to Cottontail.
- Genki Guy: He's a bit hyperactive and jumpy, though not as much as Chica or Fionn. His personality is just as bright and happy however.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Blonde with a gentle and understanding personality.
- Mellow Fellow: Bonnie is rather laidback compared to Freddy and much more relaxed, rarely getting angry or overly emotional though being 7-years-old, he can have his moments.
- Nobody Loves the Bassist: Inverted, hard. He plays guitar and bass and everybody loves his skill.
- Rascally Rabbit: Connected to rabbits and a bit of a rascal at times.
- Righteous Rabbit: He's a protagonist on the side of good.
- Sophisticated as Hell: Bonnie speaks with mild eloquence but likes to mix southern slang into his sentences every so often, usually to help get his point across or if he's sick and tired of something/someone.
- Straight Man: He plays this role to Freddy's Plucky Comic Relief.
- The Lancer: The lancer to Freddy's leader.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Carrots and vegetables in general.
Chica McEggson

Chica is an excitable and energetic girl, always hyper and pumped up for whatever the world throws at her. She’s somewhat hot-blooded and incredibly joyful, always being cheerful and determined in her goals with burning passion and heart for her interests.- Embarrassing Last Name: Chica can't stand her surname of McEggson and silently curses her mother for changing it from "Gallen y Pacheco".
- Genki Girl: Dear Scott is she. Chica is hyperactive and always excited and energetic about everything.
- Girlish Pigtails: Wears her hair in two low pigtails.
- Gratuitous Spanish: Speaks it fluently and will slip into it in anger or for fun.
- Hot-Blooded: Very passionate, proud and easily excited.
- One of the Boys: Has majority male friends and hangs out with them most.
- Supreme Chef: Well-known in her circle for her incredible baking.
- Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: Very girly with her love of baking, dolls and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic but also incredibly tomboyish and she has no fear in getting her hands dirty.
- Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: Her first name is the Spanish word for "girl" and earns her occasional flak for the perceived laziness of it as well as reactions of this trope.

Fionn is a brave and impassioned soul with determination to do anything and everything to fulfill his noble goals. He’s cunning and fiery with an intense love of the sea, mythology and pirates and on the surface, seems to enjoy his “weirdo” status, though under it all, it actually breaks him down and hurts under his blazing shell.- All of the Other Reindeer: Constantly finds himself excluded by non-Animatronics.
- Black Sheep: Fionn always stands out from every group he's involved in and often feels like he will never fit in anywhere.
- Braids, Beads and Buckskins: Heavily downplayed and done so realistically. Fionn wears his long hair in a very tight braid going down the back both in honor of his Native heritage and to keep it out of the way (why he doesn't tie up his fringe then is a complete mystery). He does own some traditional Native gear such as beaded jewelry gifted to him by members of different tribes, however, these are very rarely worn unless situationally-appropriate.
- Cunning Like a Fox: True to his name and favorite animal, he can be very crafty when needed.
- Eyepatch of Power: Wears one over his green eye to conceal his heterochromia and because he loves pirates.
- Fiery Redhead: Very passionate, energetic and emotional.
- Friendly Pirate: He calls himself a pirate captain but isn't the slight bit malicious.
- From the Mouths of Babes:
- Genki Guy: Very high-energy and very much on-the-go without stopping.
- Hates Being Alone: Fionn can't stand being alone due to severe neglect at home and his life as a social outcast.
- Hook Hand: Is missing his right hand and wears a hook for extra pirate points.
- Hot-Blooded:: He's very passionate about his interests and goes about life with burning passion.
- Large Ham: Fionn will gladly ham it up and chew the scenery with his pirate persona whenever possible.
- Lovable Jock: He's the friendliest guy out there and is a lover of all running sports.
- Real Men Cook: Cooks a lot of food and loves to create appetizers.
- Redheads Are Uncool: Gets this attitude from everyone he talks to sans Chica and the gang, both in part and contributing to his black sheep status.
- Talk Like a Pirate: Despite his thick southern accent, he insists on talking this way which earns him much humiliation.
- The Tell: Fionn drops his pirate speak if sad, serious or distressed.
Gordon Fazbear (Bearns)

Gordon is easily your average 6-year-old. Social, happy and always attempting to scare people, he fails to understand that he is far too cute to be creepy. Not that it stops him trying.- Cloudcuckoolander: Not as much as Freddy but he can certainly be a little bit strange.
- Consistent Clothing Style: He usually sticks to a T-shirt, shorts and a massive poncho.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He is a precious blond child who embodies childhood innocence and is very cute.
- Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Downplayed. He never tries to do anything malicious and is uninterested in temptations, solely finding interest in helping others and doing good deeds, but he's also 6-years-old and can easily be coerced by the right person and the right set of words because of his youth and naïveté.
- Innocent Means Naïve: He is both incredibly innocent and also quite naïve. Justified in his case as he's a 6-year-old child and lacks quite a lot of experience with such matters.
Evan Fox

Evan is a happy, friendly and extraverted music-lover though also a prolific mood swinger who often shifts from states of feeling at the drop of a hat. He’s got a fierce spice to his cheerful attitude and penchant for gossip.- Berserk Button: Evan can't stand his full first name and hates it when others use it. Many do so just to rile him up.
- Bully Magnet: Evan is often the target of Chad Millers who abuses the fact that he is mute and therefore cannot verbally tell him to back off or stop.
- Character Tics: He stims by playing with his hair or with someone else's hair (usually Jason's). When angry or stressed, he'll often tug at his hair as he plays with it.
- Cute Mute: Evan is permanently mute and some think he's quite cute because of his joyful demeanor and smiley face expression. He vehemently disagrees.
- Do Not Call Me "Paul": Don't call him "Evangélion" and if you do, dear Scott do not intentionally mispronounce it.
- Embarrassing First Name: Evangélion which means "good news". Not a horrible name, but it does cause Evan a fair bit of grief.
- Exhausted Eye Bags: Doesn't sleep much due to trauma nightmares and has these as a result.
- Forgets to Eat: Can be so busy or invested in something he forgets meals. Sometimes deliberately so.
- Goggles Do Nothing: He wears aviator goggles purely for the looks.
- Gossipy Hens: Gender-inverted. Evan likes to listen in and observe gossip and drama whenever possible and has many notebooks full of little things he's learned.
- Hates Being Called Cute: He absolutely detests being called cute or have it implied that he is cute.
- Hollywood Autism: Defied with vengeance. The author explicitly states in The Pre-Story Information Post that all of Evan's symptoms, behaviors etc. are hers her autistics friends even the "stereotypical" symptoms (lacking empathy (either cognitive or affective, special interests, need for order etc.) and that Evan's portrayal is not to be considered this trope as it comes directly from real people in real life, not stereotypes, poor research or falsehoods. Evan himself is white male and is completely capable of functioning on his own with no difficulties whatsoever or noticeable struggles with sensory input of any kind. He is completely fine both on his own and with others; he doesn't even "mask". At worst, he deeply dislikes silence (wearing headphones and listening to music nearly all the time as a result) and being unable to stim (having to be still for long periods of time will begin to agitate him), but even then he functions fine without issue.
- Lovable Nerd: He's a nerd and people loves him for it.
- Mood-Swinger: Evan's emotions can change the moment a button is pressed and often do.
- Nerds Love Tough Schoolwork: Evan likes difficult homework as he feels it keeps him busier for longer, meaning he has less chance of incurring his mother's wrath.
- Odd Name Out: In a house of Biblical and mythical given names, Evangélion stands out as being neither, instead it's the Greek word for "gospel".
- Only Known by Their Nickname: Only known as Evan by all in the story.
- Rugged Scar: Evan has garish slashing scars across his throat from the mutilation that rendered him mute.
- Sesquipedalian Smith: Evangélion Fox.
- Silent Snarker: Even before he lost his voice, he preferred to snark silently.
- Some Call Me "Tim": No one finds Evan's full first name to be easy or pronounceable so you're lucky to find someone who doesn't call him "Evan".
- Sweet Tooth: He loves sweet foods in contrast to his brother who dislikes overly sweet foods.
- The Pollyanna: Evan invokes and deconstructs it. He puts up a cheery, positive front to hide the trauma and prevent people from pitying him, but it takes a toll and the stress contributes to his Mood-Swinger tendencies.
- The Silent Bob: Evan invokes this trope. Since he cannot speak, he does what he can to compensate for the communication struggles with exaggerated body expressions, gestures and more.
- The Speechless: Evan cannot speak as of March 3rd, 2014 (the story takes place in late September) due to an incident involving severe mutilation with his vocal chords quite literally being torn from his throat. Fortunately (or unfortunately), he remembers none of it in the slightest.
- The Tell: Whenever Evan is severely stressed out, he often kicks or chafes at his ankles with his heel or pulls on his hair until he yanks a lock out. He's ended up drawing blood multiple times and often has to be stopped before he does it.
- The Unpronounceable: In-Universe, Evan's first name "Evangélion" is this for people. Only Ezekiel (his cousin) knows how to pronounce it in proper Greek.
- Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: Evangélion is not a name at all; it refers to the Gospel in Christianity and means "good news". Evan fails to see the appeal.

Uncaring and unempathetic, Teddy is much less inclined to humor his little brother and would rather lie on the floor and contemplate the meaning of life and the existentialism of the universe. He also likes space.- Beta Bitch: A subversion of sorts as while he is present and is the second member of T.C.'s group that likes to pick on others, he doesn't actually do any bullying with T.C. and Toby. He just exists there and lets them hurl insults.
- Big Brother Bully: That being said, he does insult his younger brother Freddy, both to and not to his face (but happily to the face of his friends). One such example is when Ted was invited to draw with chalk in Acceptance Meeting. He decried it as something only stupid people do, and then immediately called Freddy out to participate, insulting him without him knowing, and with his friends right there to hear it.Teddy: "No, that's dumb. Only stupid people draw with chalk. Hey Freddy!"
- Embarrassing Last Name: He hates the surname "Fazbear" and vastly prefers the old surname "Bearns".
- Godlike Gamer: Inverted completely. In Cooking Up Ideas, Chica states that he was losing yet again to Toby in Pokémon Black and White and that Ted "never wins".
- Lack of Empathy: He does not care about the feelings of his brother or his brother's friends.
- Mellow Fellow: He's not an emotional person and always seems to be bored or uninterested.

Deep down, she has some serious self-esteem issues regarding herself and though appears to enjoy being the crazy friend, it affects her more than she'd like.- Boyish Short Hair: Downplayed. Fianna wears her hair in a short bob and in the past has worn it even shorter.
- Beneath the Mask: Her deliberate Large Ham nature and proudness of her oddities are a mask to hide how painfully self-aware she is of how strange her personality is, as well as having self-esteem issues over her appearance.

- Fighting Irish: Is half-Irish and a bit too eager to get into battles or fight someone.

- The Gadfly: He likes to tease people and act mischievously with people, such as insinuating that Jason is Marionette's boyfriend.

As collected as she is, she harbors some damaging self-esteem issues, stemming due to bullying previously and an old incident, and because of this, is a bit shy and doesn't dwell on herself much.- All-Loving Hero: Marionette is beloved by all and she lives up to it with her kindness and protectiveness.
- Almighty Mom: She can and will put you in your place to protect and stand up for those she cares for.
- Authority Sounds Deep: Her voice is significantly deeper and more motherly, and she is not to be messed with.
- Badass Adorable: She is an absolute sweetheart who can and will defend those she loves by any means necessary.
- Beware the Nice Ones: All of the kids but Marionette qualifies especially as she can be sweet as sugar but you dare threaten her loved ones and you'll find yourself you down in a river .
- Brainy Brunette: Freddy has a large expanse of knowledge about science and other academic studies, far beyond his years.
- Broken Bird: Was attacked by three schoolmates and badly scarred across her face a few years ago, contributing to her shyness and crushingly low self-esteem.

- Disappeared Dad: Émile Emmings, who quite literally disappeared without a trace one day. He's been missing over a year now and the reason why Amelie Emmings and Paul Johnson married each other.
- Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: Very traditionally feminine but is more than willing to get her hands dirty and play rough.
- Long Hair Is Feminine: Is the most feminine of the main cast and has the longest hair (discounting Jason) of them all wit her locks reaching her lower thighs.
- Nightmare Fetishist: Marionette loves horror, the strange and eerily abstract.
- One of the Boys: Despite her feminine traits, she is firmly one of them and runs with them more than any girls.
- Overly Long Name: Marionette's name is longer than the others being 5 names in total. This is justified due to the naming conventions of France (though a long name with that many syllables is very uncommon), and is based on a real life friend of the author who had 5 names (though his syllable count is far shorter, in line with more common variants of 5-name names). She likes to poke fun at the length her name because of this.
- Perky Goth: Marionette, though she doesn't call herself a goth and feels that her status as being one would be shaky.
- Rugged Scar: Marionette has two scars at the center of her eyelids trailing down her cheeks to the bottom of her face.

Snarky, sassy with an unflappable nature, Jason is a stone wall in force and feel. Reserved and hard to shake, he's usually in charge of dealing with whatever insanity there is with a gentle but firm hand. His wit is as sharp as his tongue, never holding back but never being completely tactless. Though somewhat cold, formal and exceptionally blunt, he's capable of passive warmth and exudes an air of safety and reassurance. Let it be known however, Jason cares about his friends, family and loved ones, and he will go through Hell and back as many times over for them, no questions asked.- Aloof Big Brother: Defied by himself and he hates accusations of such. While he doesn't act overly warm and friendly such with them, he does not distance nor act coldly towards his many siblings.
- Beneath the Mask: Jason is nowhere near as stoic as he comes off as, nor is he as stable either.
- Butt-Monkey: He gets hurt a lot, starting the story with cracked ribs and then physically assaulted by the ghosts later on.
- Icy Blue Eyes: Well, only one of his eyes is actually blue, but they both count as they're considered piercing and his stoicism is one of his defining traits.
- Deadpan Snarker: His defining characteristic. 90% of anything he says will be snarky or sarcastic and he has no problem getting snarky with anyone and everyone.
- Defrosting Ice King: As Jason spends time with Marionette and the other kids, he begins to defrost and lets himself be more emotionally engaged and personal with them.
- Dreary Half-Lidded Eyes: Of the sarcastic and sleep-deprived kind.
- Earthy Barefoot Character: Jason prefers to go barefoot and likes to hang around nature, trees specifically.
- Eerie Pale Skinned Brunet. Subverted. He's an eerie, pale-skinned blond and if someone comments on his looks, it's usually this.
- Establishing Character Moment: Jason displays his trademark sarcasm in his very first appearance in The Abnormal Normal Bus Ride.
- Flat Joy: He's not very emotive or expressive and his tone is often flattened.
- Forgets to Eat: He is painfully guilty of this. Evan has to set reminders to ensure that Jason so much as eats an apple.
- Guyliner: Uses this to outline his eyes and eyelids to complete the punk/grunge look.
- Hallucinations: Suffers the auditory and visual types.
- Hearing Voices: Suffers this in episodes. It's nothing short of nightmare fuel.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Heavily downplayed for the "jerk" part; he's just closed off and stoic, but played straight with the heart of gold.
- Long-Haired Pretty Boy: His hair reaches his knees and Marionette has cursed his alleged "good looks".
- Meaningful Name: Silva means "forest" and Jason loves trees.
- Perpetual Frowner: He is not a smiler and has never done so before, always going about his day with a blank expression.
- Prefers Going Barefoot: He's not a fan of shoes and prefers to be barefoot whenever possible.
- Sir Swears-a-Lot: He doesn't mind swearing at all and so far, is the only character to actively do so in the entire fic.
- Snark-to-Snark Combat: Jason with everyone on a daily basis.
- Sour Outside, Sad Inside: Jason is icy and somewhat abrasive and sassy at first glance but underneath is suffering and in serious emotional distress and pain.
- Stepford Snarker: Snarks a lot to cope with his emotional pain and suicidal ideation as well as other issues.
- Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Jason is icy with most however he will be much warmer with his family and close friends. He's still sassy and snarky, though depending on who he's with, it has a different feel.

An eternal optimist, he looks forward to life and friendships.- Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Played realistically with anything unrealistic being defied. The author has Inattentive-A.D.H.D. and so does Seán; all of his symptoms are the author's and/or her friend who also has A.D.H.D. Because of this (and being 9-years-old), he is constantly distracted by anything and everything and often needs to be reeled in by his little brother Peter or his cousin Bonnie.
- Brits Love Tea: He really loves his tea (especially green tea) and always offers to brew some for friends, family and guests.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He's a sandy blonde and kind as ever.
- Mellow Fellow: He rarely if ever gets emotional and is quite calm and peaceful for the most part.
- New Transfer Student: He starts the story as a new student fresh in the U.S.A.

- The Leader: Types levelheaded and charismatic. He's the appointed leader of The Animatronics faction and is in charge of the club meetings and events. People like him and listen to him, and he manages the acceptance event with a cool head.

Granted, he is quite young, but even then, he's a little off the ball.
- Innocently Insensitive: He squished himself into a very sleep-deprived Jason's chest and ask if he died because he "[look]ed dead today".
- No Sense of Personal Space: He takes an invite to sit at the lunch table as an excuse to squish himself into Jason. It's implied he would've remained there had Fionn not "displaced" him.
- Sarcasm-Blind: Takes Jason's answer of having died over the weekend at face value. Justified as he's a 6-year-old child.
