Tropes that apply to all
  • Family Business: Both of them are the co-owners of ¡Comamos! Repostería, a [[repostería which sells all sorts of Spanish, Mexican and American treats.

Charles McEggsons (Gallen y Pacheco)

  • Beware the Nice Ones: He's nice as pie but if you push his buttons or disrespect his family, he is more than capable of shutting you down.
  • Family Man: He loves his wife and his family and would do anything for them.
  • Fatal Flaw: His niceness and calm demeanor has gotten him into trouble in the path with others taking advantage of him or girls making moves on him and Charles having trouble turning them down. He's overcome the worst of this by the time he's an adult however.
  • Mellow Fellow: In contrast to his Hot-Blooded wife, he's a very calm and collected man.
  • Nice Guy: There's not a mean bone in his body. Doubles as a Fatal Flaw however.
  • Only Sane Man: When his wife and sister-in-law are around, he becomes this as the rational, levelheaded one.
  • Spicy Latino: Subverted. While he is attractive and has a Northern Mexican accent, he's about as spicy as a sugary marshmallow.
  • Sweet Tooth: He loves to bake and cook different dishes both sweet and savory.

Samantha McEggsons (Gallen y Pacheco) née Iglesias

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/placeholder_0.png

  • Control Freak: Samantha needs to be in charge of projects she's created and hates it when people try to make her relax, take over any part of it or doesn't do as she asks them to. Her attitude is somewhat justified as it was born out of paranoia from her sister involving herself in a project and then steamrolling it in whatever direction she wanted without Samantha's input.
  • Determinator: She is nigh-unstoppable when she puts her mind to something and this attitude is the reason the repostería got off its feet.
  • Genki Girl: She's very excitable like her daughter.
  • Hot-Blooded: You can see where Chica got it from. Her blood is practically steaming on a daily basis whether from rage or excitement.
  • Housewife: Double subverted. She does stay home most of the time but is also a business owner, however said business is located beneath her house, meaning she doesn't often need to leave, and when someone does have to, it's usually Charles. Samantha is content to stay at home and work just beneath it, raise her kids, cook and clean with them and teach them the ins and outs of running the family business.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Averted, thankfully. While impulsive, she always looks before she leaps and is insistent on teaching that motto to her children.
  • Spicy Latina: A subversion as she's Hispanic, not Latina (and also lacks a Latin accent). She's still just as spicy minus the Tsundere aspect.
  • Sweet Tooth: Samantha loves her baked goods.
  • The Glorious War of Sisterly Rivalry: She and her sister Casey have been arguing their entire lives. Samantha clashes with Casey's business-oriented life and finds her to be an annoying busybody always sticking her nose where it doesn't belong and domineering ever aspect of life. Casey thinks Samantha's an emotional, neurotic mess who's wasting her life on domestic-oriented business and lifestyle.
  • Unstoppable Rage: She is prone to this and her fiery, highly emotion-driven temper is the number one reason no one likes getting her angry.
