U.A. High School

Class 1-A

    Izuku Midoriya - Deku

Izuku Midoriya / Deku

A young boy who aspires to be a hero like his idol, All Might. However, he is also the son of Heat Viper, one of the most infamous mass-murderers in the world. He originally intended to apply for the U.A. support course, but after he inspired All Might by rushing into the fray to save his friend, he was given the opportunity to become the hero he aspires to be. Before being given "One For All", he was born with an absurdly powerful and unnatural fire Quirk called "All Flare". This granted him the ability to emit extremely hot green flames that can transmute surrounding flames to empower his own, as well as draw other flames towards him.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Well, yes and no.
    • On one hand, Katsuki was never a bully toward him and they remain best friends throughout their childhood and teenage years. But...
    • On the other hand, his fear of being shunned by the world for his heritage has caused him no end of grief. This actually happens after the Sports festival, and what some people said and did to him is way worse than anything canon!Katsuki did.
  • Adaptational Badass: Besides One For All, he also possesses his own Quirk called All Flare, which is one of the strongest fire Quirks on the planet.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Eri and Himiko often refer to Izuku as "Izu".
  • Arch-Enemy: To Overhaul. Chapter 53 describe them as enemies who'll eternally hate each other with the title of the chapter being called: Eternal Enemies.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: He's extremely good at taking in his surroundings and formulating plans in very short periods of time. Katsuki tells his classmates that when it comes to fighting Izuku, you shouldn't worry about his Quirk, but rather his brain.
  • Awesome, but Impractical:
    • All Flare causes him more problems than it does benefits. It's largely at its best when he has other flames to work with and while he can push it further to become even more powerful, his body is unable to withstand the strain of using his Quirk at maximum power. This is because while he was born with All Flare, its origins are artificial, and there are so many Quirks at its core that his body was unable to keep up with them all as he grew up. As a result of this, his heat resistance is much lower than normal and makes it easy for Izuku to burn himself if he overdoes things. If he does go past his limits with All Flare, he loses the ability to produce natural body heat for several days and more often than not, causes himself severe harm.
    • As is the norm, One For All breaks his bones whenever he uses it at 100%. Though he does manage to get better control of it at 5%, so it's downplayed compared to canon. As time goes on, he's gradually able to manage more and more of its overall power, although at this time of writing he can only manage up to 20%.
    • All Flare-Overdrive - The fusion of One For All and All Flare - starts off as this. While it may give him a significant speed and power increase combined with emitting plasma instead of fire (due to the fusion of One for All's raw energy with All Flare's flames), he can't use it for long and doing so risks burning himself up. When he first used it against Stain, he could only manage 11 minutes max before becoming completely paralyzed. Through frequent use of Overdrive and training, Izuku is gradually able to extend the time limit.
  • Berserk Button: Do NOT harm or even threaten to harm anyone he cares about!
  • Blessed with Suck: All Flare is also his villainous father's Quirk, causing him to fear being ostracized by society.
  • Brains and Brawn: He's the brains to Katsuki's brawn. Though he's by no means weak nor is Katsuki dumb.
  • Childhood Friends: He and Katsuki have been best friends since they were kids.
  • Classical Anti-Hero: Despite being a noble and heroic individual, he's very insecure about his ability to be a hero because of his powers, and is frequently plagued by the infamous legacy his father left behind.
  • Class Representative: He's Class 1-A's president.
  • Convection, Schmonvection: Subverted. While he is resistant to the green flames he produces, he isn't immune to other flames unless he transmutes them. Even then, if he increases the heat of his own flames too much, then he runs the risk of burning himself.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: As revealed when Izuku was captured by the League of Villains, Hisashi is actually a "Chimera", a genetically engineered life-form. Still human, but far from natural.
  • Heroic Bastard: His father and mother never married, so he's this.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: While in the eyes of the world he's technically not a hero just yet, his relation to Heat Viper paints him in a negative light with the general public.
  • I Have No Son!: Inverted. He denounces Heat Viper as his father and wants absolutely nothing to do with him.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: He often wishes he was born a "Quirkless nobody" rather than "the son of Heat Viper".
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Heat Viper can be rather arrogant, while Izuku is a down-to-earth Nice Guy. All Might notes that while they have similar appearances, their personalities are so different that it would be hard to actually convince him that they're related at all.
  • Morality Pet: He's one of the few people who Katsuki's actually nice to, albeit in his own unique way.
  • Playing with Fire: He can emit green flames and transmute external fire sources to empower them. He later upgraded to playing with plasma after his training with Gran Torino.
  • Roaring Rampage of Rescue: After Eri is kidnapped during the Raid on the Eight Precepts, Izuku goes berserk fighting the Yakuza to get her back.
  • Shared Family Quirks: Pun aside, he's got quite a bit from both sides of his family, though he clearly favors his mother's.
    • From his mother, he inherited her kindness and warm-hearted nature. He also inherited her facial features.
    • From his father, he mainly just has his Quirk, but he's also noted to have a similar drive to improve himself that Hisashi always displayed, and is similar in physique. However, he's also got an aggressive side when dealing with people who threaten his family, which is another trait Hisashi possesses. He and Hisashi briefly teamed up when Kai Chisaki attempted to take Eri away, resulting in Mimic's capture and sending the rest of the Yakuza packing. The only positive ground they share at this time of writing is the love they have for Inko.
    • Much darker, but his intellect, planning abilities, and skill in manipulation were inherited from his grandfather, All For One. He can come up with impressive plans in short time-frames, as well as predict his opponent's moves and possible techniques. Not to mention he knows how to take advantage of personality traits.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: Constantly fears being the recipient of this. It comes to pass following the U.A. Sports Festival where he uses his Quirk at full power, showing to the world that he is the son of Heat Viper.
  • Superior Successor: Zig-zagged. He lacks the control over his Quirk that his father has and can't use it at full power for very long without damaging his body, nor can he create near-limitless supplies of fire. However, he did gain the ability to steal other fire Quirks (an ability Viper was supposed to have, but ultimately lacked) and he can draw other fire sources toward him (an ability attributed to his mother's Quirk mixing in with Viper's). In theory, he has greater finesse over his Quirk, but he can't manage it's higher power levels nearly as well as Hisashi.
  • Superpower Lottery: While his Quirks come with several drawbacks, they grant him a lot of power to use, and they make him one of the strongest upcoming heroes in his generation. Since All Flare has nine other fire-based Quirks that compose it, he could potentially be the strongest hero on the planet. And that's before getting into the multitude of other Quirks One For All has gathered over the years.
  • Surprise Pregnancy: Izuku calling himself a mistake prompts Hisashi to correct him. He was unexpected. But a mistake? Never.
  • Unexpected Successor: As Hisashi was believed sterile for being an Artificial Human, the League of Villains was quite surprised when Izuku made his debut in the Sports Festival.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Zig-Zagged. While he's very good at controlling the lower levels of his Quirks and applying them in creative ways, he has almost no control over their highest capabilities. With All Flare, he can't control the highest levels of power very well and he severely damages his body in doing so. It really doesn't help that he actively avoided using his Quirk for seven years, stunting his progress.
  • Villainous Lineage: He's generally a subversion of this given how he's a Nice Guy who wants nothing to do with his villainous father and desires to be a great hero who helps people. However, he does show some shades of this.
    • Gran Torino notes that he has the same drive to get stronger that Hisashi does, but this is really all he inherited from him, or so he says.
    • When he's captured, he identifies Himiko as his surest bet to escape and starts to play himself as a nice boy she would like to help. His grandfather, All For One, is extremely proud to see that the kid is a budding manipulator.

    Katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki Bakugo

Izuku Midoriya's childhood friend. A gifted young man who has a strong natural talent for combat and is remarkable in academics. Unfortunately for everyone else, he knows it, and is very egotistical in his abilities. He attends U.A. High in an effort to become the next No. 1 hero. His "Explosion" Quirk lets him sweat nitroglycerin and then ignite it, creating devastating explosions in the palms of his hands.
  • The Ace: He's damn near as smart as Izuku, has a very powerful combat oriented Quirk and is very skilled in using it. After the Sports Festival, he pretty much establishes himself as one of the strongest students in the U.A. student body, his only competition being Izuku and Shoto, and his only superiors being The Big Three. His mother points out that this is also a serious problem. His natural talent led to him gaining a massive ego that, when combined with his protectiveness of Izuku, made it impossible for him to make any friends prior to attending UA. If people can't keep up with him, he'll ditch them without a care in the world.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: He's still a self-centered ass, but he was never a bully to Izuku and he's somewhat nicer to the other Class 1-A students, if only barely.
  • Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: He's got a massive ego about his abilities, but it's not unfounded given that he's one of the strongest students in his class, if not the whole school.
  • Berserk Button: He's got a laundry list of them. It may as well be a berserk keyboard:
    • Don't belittle or insult him.
    • Don't even think about hurting or insulting Izuku when he's around.
    • P.A.L.s. You will die if you are one.
  • The Berserker: Kind of. While he is very aggressive and temperamental, he can perform some pretty insightful strategies on the fly in the heat of a fight.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Has this toward Izuku. Harm him at your peril.
  • Big Brother Mentor: He actually serves as a source of inspiration for Izuku in some situations. Izuku likens their relationship to being similar to a hero (Katsuki) and his sidekick (Izuku).
  • Born Winner: Being naturally talented and having a combat based Quirk in a society that heavily favors combat based Quirks means he was practically born at the top of the food chain.
  • Brains and Brawn: He's the brawn to Izuku's brains, but that's not to say he's dumb by any stretch of the margin, nor is it to say Izuku is weak.
  • The Bully: Averted. He wasn't a bully this time around, but his attitude sure gives off the impression of one.
  • Cool Uncle: Eri considers him to be one, and he wholeheartedly accepts.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: While his classmates respect his combative and academic abilities, not to mention his resolve, his extremely arrogant behavior makes it hard for anyone to be friends with him. The only people we can genuinely call his friends at this time of writing are Izuku, Momo, and Eijirou.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • When they were kids, he and Izuku bonded over video games, even entering and winning a video game competition with him at that age.
    • He holds a surprising amount of respect for heroes and those aspiring to become heroes who don't have combat ready Quirks and also acknowledges that the entrance exam is too biased against them.
  • Hypocritical Heartwarming: While he may mess around with Izuku from time to time, he will not tolerate anyone else doing so.
Katsuki (to Izuku): No one gets to mess with you but me.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: He finds Momo very attractive when she hits her Rage Breaking Point.
  • Pervert Revenge Mode: He thoroughly despises perverts. If you are one and you happen to be in his proximity, say goodbye to your nads.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Hits his when Hisashi impales Izuku on a steel pipe, nearly killing him. His answer is a point-blank explosion into Hisashi's gut strong enough to send him and the entire League of Villains flying, but at the cost of breaking his own arm.
  • Real Men Cook: He's very good with cooking, to the point where he and Izuku try to out-do each other in making curry. Pixie-Bob was ecstatic about this fact.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: Averted with prejudice since Izuku manifested "All Flare" at seven years old — Katsuki NEVER feared him, mocking those who did as cowards and idiots.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Good God, someone needs to take an entire gallon of soap and shove it down this kid's throat.
  • Smug Super: He has one of the most powerful Quirks imaginable, and he is not humble about it.
  • Strong and Skilled: As noted by several teachers, not only does he have an extremely powerful combat oriented Quirk, but he's also got a large amount of skill when it comes to applying it in various situations.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: What his Quirk allows him to do.

    Ochako Uraraka - Uravity

Ochako Uraraka / Uravity

A young aspiring heroine who wants to make money to support her family. She becomes close friends with Izuku after they first meet. Her Quirk, appropriately called "Zero Gravity", lets her remove the gravity of an object she touches with all five fingers. She has a bubbly personality and is quite friendly, but also has a serious competitive streak. After training with Gunhead, she's improved her close-combat abilities and is capable of dealing some heavy hits to any villain unfortunate enough to cross her path.
  • Crush Blush: Has these whenever she gets flustered around Izuku, although to be fair, he gets them around her as well.
  • Gravity Master: Her Quirk allows her to negate the gravity of anything she touches with all five fingers. This is due to the special pads she has on her fingertips.
  • Not Quite Flight: Although she can use her Quirk to fly, a more apt description is controlled floating. Even then, her mobility in the air is dependent on the direction she was going when she removed her gravity.
  • Ship Tease: With Izuku.

    Tenya Iida - Ingenium

Tenya Iida / Ingenium

A member of the prestigious Iida family and the younger brother of the current Ingenium. His family Quirk is "Engine". He has engine boosters in his legs that can amp up his speed or give his kicks a power boost.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Inverted. After what the Hero Killer did to his older brother, he took an internship in Hosu to avenge him.
  • Heroic Lineage: He's a member of the Ingenium line, with his brother being the current Ingenium.
  • Super-Speed: The engines in his legs give him superhuman speed.

    Shoto Todoroki

Shoto Todoroki

The youngest son of the No. 2 hero, Endeavor and one of the students admitted into U.A. based on recommendation. His Quirk is a special hybrid Quirk called "Half-hot, Half-cold". His left side can emit powerful barrages of fire while his right side generates enormous bursts of ice.
  • The Ace: He's one of the most intelligent and powerful students in UA... and he's got a laundry list of daddy issues.
  • Commonality Connection: Both he and Izuku have severe daddy issues and are sons of powerful fire wielders who are major scumbags. They end up forming a camaraderie over this, following the fight with Stain.
  • An Ice Person: His right half grants him these abilities.
  • Innocently Insensitive: When he compared Izuku's Quirk to Heat Viper's and stated that he planned to use him to spite his father, he didn't realize that he was causing Izuku to have breakdowns due to not knowing that he is Heat Viper's son. He realizes this after the Sports Festival and makes amends after the Hosu incident.
  • Jerkass Realization: He realizes how much his attitude toward Izuku was hurting him during the Sports Festival and sought to make up for it.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Has this reaction when he sees that Izuku's Quirk isn't just similar to Heat Viper's, it's the same. He puts two and two together instantly and this intensifies.
    • Has this reaction again in his fight with Izuku where he doesn't just steal the flames coming from his left side, he steals his fire Quirk altogether.
  • Playing with Fire: His left side gives him these abilities.
  • Required Secondary Powers: Both of his sides counteract the weaknesses of the other. His fire half keeps him from getting hypothermia and his ice half prevents him from overheating.

    Momo Yaoyorozu - Creati

Momo Yaoyorozu / Creati

An exceptionally talented student from a wealthy family. Like Shoto, she was admitted into U.A. based on recommendation. Momo is the Vice President of Class 1-A and acts as a leader figure and mediator to keep her classmates going strong. She's affectionately known as "Yaomomo" by some of her peers. Her Quirk, "Creation", allows her to convert lipids into new atoms and generate matter from her body provided that she understands the object's molecular structure.
  • The Ace: She's one of the most gifted students in her class, having immense talent with her Quirk and possessing the intellect to use it. Even Katsuki respects her.
  • Class Representative: She's the vice president of Class 1-A.
  • Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: She slaps Izuku across the face during the practical exam where he was going through a breakdown about accidentally hurting her.
  • Morality Pet: She becomes one of the few people Katsuki has respect for. He even opens up to her more about his problems, showing how much he trusts her.
  • The Power of Creation: Her Quirk lets her create any non-living object she wants using lipids from her body. She just needs to know the exact molecular structure of the object she wants to make.
  • Precision F-Strike: She never uses foul language. So the one time she does, everyone, herself included, was shocked.
  • Worthy Opponent: Part of Katsuki's respect for her comes from her natural talent and capabilities as a fighter; viewing her as one of the few students in his class that's actually worth his time. She's more than happy to prove him right, and trains with him frequently to improve her overall combat abilities.

    Eijirou Kirishima - Red Riot

Eijirou Kirishima / Red Riot

A kindhearted young man who is incredibly passionate about the concept of "manliness", having taken inspiration from the hero Crimson Riot. While more than capable of holding his own in a fight, he's not exactly the brightest student. His "Hardening" Quirk allows him to make his skin incredibly durable, almost rock-like, as well as give him a strength boost.
  • Nice Guy: He's one of the few people that can actually tolerate Katsuki's attitude and is kind to almost everyone he meets.
  • Super-Toughness: His Quirk makes his skin incredibly durable and hard to hurt.

    Mina Ashido - Pinky

Mina Ashido / Pinky

An energetic, almost alien looking girl. She's quite bouncy and a bit of a slacker when it comes to homework, but her personality makes it easy for her to make friends. "Acid" allows her skin to secrete an acidic substance that she can use in combat.
  • Bully Hunter: She detests bullies, which immediately puts her at odds with Katsuki, though he's not really a bully this time around.
  • Cooldown Hug: Mina is really good at helping her friends calm down when stressed, as noted by Eijirou. She demonstrates this best by helping Izuku through a panic attack, and Ochako when her friend is an emotional wreck following the Kamino Ward Incident.
  • Hollywood Acid: Her powers revolve around generating acid from her skin, and can control its corrosiveness and viscosity.

    Minoru Mineta - Grape Juice

Minoru Mineta / Grape Juice

An extremely perverted student who tends to get his comeuppance in brutally hilarious ways. His Quirk, called "Pop Off", lets him remove the sticky balls on his head and use them to subdue his opponents, though his scalp will bleed profusely if he pulls too many off at once.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: In regards to his perversion at least. He views his perverted tendencies as completely normal and thinks that the other guys in his class are the weird ones for how chaste they are.
  • Butt-Monkey: Unfortunately for him, Bakugo really hates perverts. Cue repeated beat-downs under the girls' cheering.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: His perversion makes him the least popular kid in class, if not the entire school.
  • Groin Attack: Gloriously subjected to this by Katsuki twice for his perverted antics. The first time, it was so powerful it broke the sound barrier, and the second time reduced him to A Twinkle in the Sky.
  • Iron Butt Monkey: Rule of Cool and Pervert Revenge Mode demands that he be kicked in the nads at the speed of sound. Rule of Funny demands that he survives this.

The Big Three

    Mirio Togata - Lemillion

Mirio Togata / Lemillion

The strongest student in U.A's Hero Course. Though he started from the very bottom, Nighteye's training helped him master his abilities and join Nejire and Tamaki amongst U.A's Big Three. His Quirk, Permeation, allows him to phase through anything-be it walls, people, or the earth. It's an incredibly complex ability that took years for him to master, but the payoff is that it has a high skill ceiling that has turned Mirio into an incredible powerhouse.
  • The Ace: Aside from being arguably the most powerful student in U.A's Hero Course, Mirio is regarded as a candidate for the #1 spot, even amongst the Pro Heroes.
  • Nice Guy: Mirio is almost always smiling, respectful, and kind. He's been a beacon of joy all his life, and helped the introverted and shy Tamaki slowly grow out of his shell. In addition, he's an excellent motivator and enjoys helping his underclassmen grow. After the world finds out Izuku is Heat Viper's son, he doesn't treat him any different.
  • Intangibility: Mirio's Quirk takes this to the extreme. He can phase through absolutely anything, but unlike most examples of this Trope, this can be dangerously literal. Air, light, and sound phase through him as well, leaving him unable to breathe and turning him deaf and blind.

    Nejire Hado - Nejire Chan

Nejire Hado / Nejire Chan

An energetic, optimistic member of the Big Three who holds an immense curious streak for pretty much anything. Her Quirk, Surge, allows her to turn her own stamina into plasma surges that she can fire from her hands. It gives her enhanced mobility, allowing her to fly, and serves well as a powerful weapon during combat.
  • Angry Cheek Puff: Nejire puffs her cheeks when she's unhappy as part of her Manchild characterization.
  • The Ditz: While she's definitely not stupid, her airheaded tendencies and kindergartener-like behavior make her qualify for this.
  • Ki Manipulation: Her Quirk is very similar to this. She turns her own stamina into energy that she can fire and/or use to fly. The downside to this is that, like ki, the more she uses, the more her stamina is drained.
  • Manchild: Although she is approximately 18 years old, she behaves as though she were a child, like butting into conversations, asking overly-curious questions, puffing her cheeks when she's unhappy, etc.

    Tamaki Amakiji - Suneater

Tamaki Amakiji / Suneater

A shy, introverted member of U.A's Big Three with arguably one of the most powerful and diverse abilities in the school. His Quirk, Manifest, gives Tamaki the ability to enhance his limbs with the properties of whatever he eats, such as tentacles by consuming calamari, hooves by eating beef, etc. Despite his introversion and general fear of interacting with people, it's beyond question that Tamaki is incredibly strong, and in combat he is capable of fighting multiple villains with contemptuous ease.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In Viridescent, he, as well as the other two members of the Big 3, appear as early as the USJ Arc.
  • Childhood Friends: He and Mirio have know each other since third grade.
  • Clothing Damage: If he generates large, inhuman body parts with his quirk during combat, his clothes can't always keep up with his changes in anatomy and can rip or get damaged.
  • Combo Platter Powers: Tamaki's quirk allows him to manifest weapons based on what he eats, so he consumes a large palate to give him a large variety of characteristics to weaponize.
    • This includes Combat Tentacles from eating calamari, shell shields from clams, talons from chicken, etc.
  • Corner of Woe: He has a habit of cowering against a wall in shame when he loses his confidence.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: He doesn't think himself highly when compared to Mirio, who he claims "shines like the sun."
  • Hidden Depths: Mirio claims that he believes that Tamaki, deep down, is a cheerful guy himself.
  • In the Hood: Tamaki's hero costume includes a hood that can cover some of his face.
  • Introvert: His biggest weakness. He has No Social Skills, lacks self-confidence, and he subconsciously shuts himself down if he gets too nervous or too afraid of messing up.
  • Meaningful Name: Tamaki's hero name, Suneater, was inspired by his best friend, Mirio, who claimed that his light could outshine even the light of people who Tamaki calls "suns".

Faculty and Staff

    Toshinori Yagi - All Might

Toshinori Yagi / All Might

The No. 1 hero and the strongest hero in the world. After Izuku inspired him by rushing in to save his friend, he confronted him about the Quirk he almost used. He comes to realize that Izuku is the son of Heat Viper, an old enemy of his. Understanding Izuku's desire to be a great hero, he takes him under his wing and gives him the power of "One For All", a Quirk passed down from generation to generation, getting stronger as it goes along. With "One For All", All Might is the strongest person in the world, bearing insurmountable strength, speed, and durability. However, his abilities have been hampered by his injuries in his last fight with All For One.
  • The Ace: He's the world's greatest hero, loved by good and feared by evil.
  • Blow You Away: His punches are so powerful they emit shockwaves that can straight-up alter the weather and obliterate a good chunk of a replicate city even at their weakest.
  • Broken Ace: The injuries that he received from All For One six years ago have taken their toll on him. Regardless, he persists and will continue to be the Symbol of Peace, training Izuku to become his successor to his last breath. As of his final duel with All for One at the Kamino Ward, his injuries are so severe that he cannot continue work as a Pro, and has dedicated his time to training Izuku and the rest of U.A.'s students.
  • Dogged Nice Guy: During his U.A. years, he was in a relationship with Inko, although they later broke up after his mentor, Nana, was killed. Toshinori feared All for One would come for Inko next, so he ended their relationship and moved to America after graduation to improve his skills as a hero before returning to Japan.
  • Like a Son to Me: Izuku is practically his son in all but name and blood. Inko often wishes that he actually was his son. The feeling is also mutual, as Izuku sees him as the father he never had.
  • Strong and Skilled: He's the most powerful hero on Earth and bears immense skill through years of training and experience.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Back in his U.A. years, he and Hisashi were friends and rivals. These days, they are as much of mortal enemies as he is with All For One.
  • World's Strongest Man: He's regarded as the most powerful human being on the planet, with the only two known individuals that can match him being All For One and Heat Viper.

    Shota Aizawa - Eraserhead

Shota Aizawa / Eraserhead

An underground hero and Class 1-A's homeroom teacher. His Quirk, "Erasure", lets him erase the Quirks of others so long as he stares at them, though the effect ends when he blinks.
  • Anger Born of Worry: He was furious at the students who left to rescue Izuku from the League of Villains because they put their lives in danger and had something gone wrong, they would have died.
  • Anti-Magic: His Quirk lets him shut down other Quirks by looking at people. However, this does not work on Mutation Quirks like Gang Orca's.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He's almost always got a deadpan expression and tone, as well as a lot of snarky attitude for almost everyone.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Gives a subtle one to both the League of Villains and the media for believing Izuku to be anything like his father:
Reporter: And his connection to Heat Viper? What are your thoughts on him following in his father's footsteps down the path of a villain?
Aizawa: Speaking frankly, those accusations are absurd. Izuku does not view his parentage to Viper as a good thing. When we were testing the Quirks of the students for the first time, he was reluctant and afraid to use it at all for fear of being ostracized. He was only able to use it fully during the Sports Festival. Evidently, his concerns were not unfounded as there appears to be a number of people who are incapable of seeing the difference between a child and a parent. If the villains assumed he would join them simply because of his parentage... then Heat Viper's involvement regardless, I would call them fools.

    Chiyo Shuuzenji - Recovery Girl

Chiyo Shuuzenji / Recovery Girl

The school nurse. Her Quirk, Recovery, lets her speed up a person's recovery time. However, it's not full-proof and more serious injuries require surgery before she applies her Quirk to heal the wound. In addition, Recovery only heals based on how much energy the patient has to spare at that time. An exhausted individual won't be able to heal completely and will have to rest before Recover can be utilized on them again.

    Principal Nezu

Principal Nezu

A strange animal with a Quirk called "High-specs", granting him incredible intelligence beyond even humans. He is the Principal of U.A. High School and a Pro Hero.
  • Super-Intelligence: His Quirk grants him an advanced intellect that lets him easily make highly precise calculations and predictions.

Pro Heroes

    Enji Todoroki - Endeavor

Enji Todoroki / Endeavor

The No. 2 Pro Hero and Shoto Todoroki's father. An ambitious man who seeks to become the No. 1 Hero and usurp All Might through his son. He also bears an immense hatred for Heat Viper due to having been bested by him years ago. His Quirk, "Hellflame", lets him emit enormous bursts of fire.
  • Abusive Parent: Big time. The entire reason he conceived Shoto was to surpass All Might, and he sees him as little more than a tool to his ambitions.
    • His own son believes Heat Viper is a better father than him, and that's after Hisashi almost accidentally killed Izuku by impaling him on a metal pipe.
  • Always Second Best: More like "Always Third Best". Besides All Might, he's also fairly behind Heat Viper on the totem pole as well.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He is just not suited for fighting Heat Viper. All Flare completely shuts down Endeavor's Hellflame Quirk, making it utterly useless when fighting Hisashi, and even Izuku in theory.
    • Was on the receiving end of one at Heat Viper's hands years ago and had to be saved by All Might.
    • Ends up happening again during the raid on the Noumu facility. Though he does last a bit longer this time.
  • Hypocrite: Chastises Katsuki for his jerkass behavior, saying that no Pro-Hero would want to mentor someone like him, yet Endeavor is so arrogant and outright dickish that he makes Katsuki seem like a bonafide Nice Guy by comparison.
  • It's All About Me: His hatred toward Heat Viper and Izuku have less to do with them being threats to society (well, Viper is a threat, at any rate), and more to do with him getting his ass handed to him fifteen years ago when he fought Viper.
  • "It" Is Dehumanizing: He refuses to acknowledge Heat Viper as a human being. Unfortunately, he also treats Izuku this way too.
  • Jerkass: He's an abrasive, ambitious, abusive, confrontational asshole.
  • Made of Iron: To give the man credit where it's due, he survived a full power Pyroclasm to the face, a Sun Forge attack, and another Pyroclasm, coupled with a major beatdown from Viper. Not only that, but he recovers in record time. The other Pro Heroes are stated to have survived Viper's first attack only because Endeavor got in the way to take most of the damage.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: It's implied that Endeavor attacked Hisashi when he went to speak to All Might, resulting in the former's rampage.
  • Playing with Fire: His Quirk, Hellflame, grants him these abilities.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: He wasn't wrong about Heat Viper not being human, his reasoning was just really petty.

    Mirai Sasaki - Sir Nighteye

Mirai Sasaki / Sir Nighteye

A Pro Hero who was formerly All Might's only sidekick ever, Sir Nighteye is an experienced, intelligent Pro Hero with his own office. His Quirk, Foresight, gives Nighteye the ability to see the future of a person he touches, but he only sees in the third person and cannot pick up sounds. In addition, he can only utilize this ability once a day, and the exact time of the events he witnesses can be difficult to measure depending on how far he's trying to look. He is strict and serious, even modeling his costume after common Japanese businessmen, but he also puts a high value on humor. If his sidekicks aren't humorous enough, he'll subject them to "tickle hell", a machine that leaves them in tickling fits such that they laugh until they cannot breathe. Nighteye's high standards mean that he has only a few sidekicks at any one time, and his current office comprises of only two Pros (Bubble Girl and Centipeder) as well as a pair of interns (Mirio and Izuku) to run things.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: In canon, Nighteye was contempt with Izuku, only accepting him as All Might's successor right before his tragic death. Here, he genuinly respects Izuku and is willing to truly train him.
  • Spared By Adaptation: Sir Nighteye is still alive...for now. According to Word of God, anyone in Viridescent can die.

    Kugo Sakamata - Gang Orca

Kugo Sakamata / Gang Orca

A Pro Hero with a Mutation Quirk called "Orcinus", Gang Orca is one of the top ten Pro Heroes in the nation and a powerful combatant. Due to the appearance of his Quirk, which gives him the characteristics and abilities of a Killer Whale, he's also one of the highest-ranked heroes that resemble villains. Orcinus grants him a large body in addition to immense strength and speed, the latter of which is enhanced when Gang Orca fights in the water. He is capable of unleashing blasts of sound that can paralyze those who are hit at a close enough range, although the effect is weaker the further away his target is. Although he is vulnerable to heat and dryness due to his marine-type body, (and likely electricity, although this has yet to be confirmed) Gang Orca can re-energize himself by rehydrating. Despite his appearance and villain-like persona at times, Gang Orca is gentle at heart and is an excellent teacher. He has amassed a large support base of sidekicks who all look up to him and is viewed by the public as an excellent Pro Hero.

Student Family Members

Izuku's Family

    Inko Midoriya

Inko Midoriya

Izuku Midoriya's mother. She tends to worry about her son and what the world may do to him because of his father's actions. Her Quirk is a minor form of telekinesis that lets her move small objects with her mind.
  • Adaptational Badass: Inko becomes this when, while Overhaul and the Eight Precepts try to kidnap Eri, she uses her quirk to try to RIP OUT OVERHAUL'S EYE!
    • Also worth noting that, after Heat Viper drives the Eight Precepts away, she straight-up tells him, one of the most dangerous villains in the world, that he is required to meet them at the house in 3 hours.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Shortly after their high-school graduation, she and Toshinori broke up due to the latter being afraid that All for One would try to kill her. A few years later, she met Hisashi again and they fell in love, although it ended badly just after she became pregnant with Izuku when Hisashi went on a rampage against All Might. This causes her to wonder at times what her son's life would have been like, had Toshinori been his father. Despite that, she still holds affection for Hisashi and wishes things could have been different.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She's a completely tenderhearted woman and loving mother, but she can be brutal when it push comes to shove. Using your Quirk to try and tear out Overhaul's eye would definitely put you in the "sweet but don't mess with" category.
  • Mama Bear: She may not be a powerhouse like her son or All Might, but the moment one of her children is in danger, she will do anything to protect them. Like trying to rip Overhaul's eye straight out of its socket with her power when he tries to take Eri. She's also fierce enough to keep Izuku, Toshinori, and Hisashi in line under the same roof, when they had dinner following a brief confrontation with the Eight Precepts. Despite having been involved with two of the most powerful men in the world, she clearly is the one in charge.
  • Morality Pet: Heat Viper noticeably softens when she's in proximity. Despite everything that's happened over the years, he still loves her, and she retains a sad affection for him, too.
  • Ocular Gushers: Seems hereditary, as Izuku has this as well.
  • Secret-Keeper: One of the few people who knows of All Might's secret identity.
  • Telekinesis: Her power allows her to pull small objects towards her. This may include eyeballs.

    Eri

Eri

A child that Izuku and Katsuki saved from a villain affiliated with the Eight Precepts of Death. She ends up living with the Midoriyas and becomes a member of the family, attending U.A a few times every week to learn how to control her Quirk. Said Quirk, dubbed Rewind, allows Eri to reverse a living thing's previous state of being; for example, she's capable of Rewinding a human being into the tiny cells they started as, essentially reversing them out of existence. She has very little control over this ability and since it tends to run riot in short bursts, U.A decided to teach her how to manage Rewind in order to avoid serious accidents with her Quirk.
  • Affectionate Nickname: As they become more tightly knit as a family, Izuku affectionately calls Eri "love bug".
  • Broken Bird: The Shi Hassaikai left her with many scars, both physical and mental, not the least of which is the belief that her Quirk is a curse.
  • Happily Adopted: She's Izuku's little sister at this point, although from Eri's point of view, Izuku is more like her father figure and Katsuki is an uncle of sorts to her.
  • Morality Pet: When you can get Katsuki to stop cursing almost entirely just by being in the same room as him, you definitely quality.

Katsuki's Family

    Masaru Bakugo

Masaru Bakugo

Katsuki's father. He is the quietest (and most negotiable) member of the Bakugo household and an Uncle to Izuku.
  • Henpecked Husband: Pretty clear that his wife is the real authority in the Bakugo household.
  • Only Sane Man: Comparing him to his wife and Inko, he's the most straight-laced of the three.

    Mitsuki Bakugo

Mitsuki Bakugo

Katsuki's mother. She's Inko's childhood friend and an Aunt to Izuku. As the matriarch of the Bakugo household, she generally calls the shots in the house and easily convinced Masaru to take her last name instead of the other way around when they got married.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Izuku calls her "Bakumom".
  • Almighty Mom: Katsuki may give her enough back sass to fill out an encyclopedia, but he really doesn't want to piss her off past the point of no return.
  • Cool Aunt: Not biologically, but she's like an aunt to Izuku.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: Hey, Katsuki had to get it from someone.
  • Shipper on Deck: One for Katsuki and Momo. Though granted, she does have quite the teasing streak, so it's also for her own personal entertainment.

Villains

League of Villains

    All For One

All For One

The mastermind of the League of Villains and Tomura's mentor. He seems to have some connection with Heat Viper, having had him as a "pet" according to Tomura. His Quirk that he shares his name with allows him to steal the Quirks of others, making him among the most powerful beings in the world.
  • Abusive Parent: It's Implied that he's this towards Hisashi. The fact that he didn't helped him get out of prison says something.
  • Didn't See That Coming: He fully believed Hisashi was unable to naturally produce offspring, so the revelation of Izuku's birth utterly floored him.
  • Gruesome Grandparent: He is proud of his grandson, but this is the kind of pride you feel for a prized show-dog. And he has no qualms about throwing the kid into life-or-death battles to force him to adapt.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Or rather, grandfather. Poor Izuku.
  • Not Me This Time: He claims he had no hand in Himiko's abduction and descent into madness. All Might advises Izuku to take this with a pinch of salt.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Since he gave his genetic material to create Hisashi and later adopted him, it means that he's Izuku's grandfather.
  • Superpower Lottery: He has the power to steal other's Quirks and use them for himself. This makes him one of the strongest beings in the world and proved instrumental in creating the Chimeras.
  • Villains Never Lie: Averted. All Might outright warns Izuku that All For One is such a Manipulative Bastard it's impossible to trust any word out of his mouth.

    Hisashi - Heat Viper

Hisashi / Heat Viper

Izuku Midoriya's father and one of the most infamous villains on the planet. He was originally a U.A. student and a rival of Toshinori, though he dropped out after a year. His Quirk, "All Flare" is different from his son's in some regards. He can emit a nigh-endless supply of green flames that burn hotter than any other flame-based Quirk alongside many other abilities it provides him.
  • Abusive Parent: He really doesn't have a clue on how to be a good father. When his son denounces him in favor of All Might, he brutally beats him down.
  • The Ace: During his one year at U.A., he was at the top of his class as well as Toshinori's only competitor. He's also one of the few people on the planet that can fight All Might on even footing. He's seen as this by the League of Villains, being their most powerful and respected member.
  • Adaptational Badass: Canon Hisashi? Overseas worker that barely mattered. Viridescent's Hisashi? One of the strongest villains in the world.
  • Ambiguously Human: The U.A. staff note that his Quirk is rather unnatural and that his physical ability to trade blows with All Might is completely disassociated with his Quirk. This leads them to believe that he was enhanced or artificially designed in some way. He's revealed to be an artificial life-form called a "Chimera".
  • Berserk Button: He really hates All Might.
    • When he realized that All Might passed "One For All" down to Izuku, cue Skyward Scream.
    • Izuku stated that All Might was like a father to him. Hisashi... didn't take it well. At all.
  • Big Brother Mentor: Serves this towards Tomura. Giving the younger man advices and help him on his way of becoming a villain. Makes sense since All For One had adopted them both as his sons.
  • Blood Knight: He really enjoys fighting. All For One notes that even after all these years, he still has a childish enthusiasm for combat.
  • Deliver Us from Evil: Actually attempted in his backstory. Right after learning of Inko's pregnancy, Hisashi decided to retire from the cape business to focus on his little family, but he still had one last meeting with All Might... which led him to spend sixteen years in prison.
  • The Dreaded: His escape puts the entire Hero community on edge. Anytime he appears, the Pro Heroes start freaking out and become desperate.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He still pines for Inko and does genuinely love their son, although he doesn't know how to show it. Even though he brutally attacked Izuku for claiming that All Might was like a father to him, he was horrified when he knocked his son into a loose piece of pipe, impaling him, so while he will certainly hurt his son, he won't kill him. After meeting Inko again for the first time in sixteen years, he promises her to never hurt their son again and to watch out for him, as Inko was worried Izuku would get carried away during the upcoming battle with Kai Chisaki.
  • Freudian Excuse: He's a monster, no ifs, ands, or buts about that. Kinda obligated when you have been genetically engineered as a Person of Mass Destruction and groomed by The Sociopath to be as destructive as possible.
  • Handicapped Badass: His sixteen years in prison have severely affected his physical state. However, with an enhancement drug, he becomes so powerful that he effortlessly defeats any Pro he faces with the exception of All Might.
  • Horned Humanoid: Using his powers causes green horns comprised of his fire to appear on his head. When combined with Black Eyes of Evil, he looks almost demonic.
  • I've Come Too Far: He's painfully aware of the fact Izuku outright loathes him for almost killing him and is resigned to it, bleakly accepting he deserves it.
  • Knight of Cerebus: There is zero comedy or lightheartedness whenever he shows up.
  • Living Weapon: It's revealed that he was created to be one.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Doesn't say it out loud but his horrified reaction after he blasts Izuku into a steel pipe is definitely telling.
  • Only One Name: He only has one name as far as we can tell. Still, All For One having adopted him means he probably has "Hisashi Shigaraki" for his legal name.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: His last fight with All Might 16 years ago resulted in the decimation of an entire city. Actually, expect whatever city he's fighting in to be destroyed by the time he's done.
  • Playing with Fire: Besides the obvious, he can transmute flames like his son and emit barrages of green flame without straining himself. Unlike his son, the amount of fire he can produce is nigh-limitless, though he can't draw other flames toward him and has to make contact. Since All Flare is an artificially created Quirk by merging several fire Quirks alongside All For One, it has many more abilities:
    • Immolate: He can ignite his entire body and alter his temperature.
    • Thermoshape: Allows him to shape-shift his own fire and the flames he transmutes into any form he wants.
    • Sun Forge: He can concentrate a sphere of pure heat that is similar to a star. It's one of All Flare's strongest abilities.
    • Hyperblaze: Further amplifies his already intense heat.
    • Heat Blade: Also self explanatory, as he can form a blade out of sheer heat and flames.
    • Hellbreath: Pretty self explanatory. He can breath extremely hot green fire.
    • Pyroclasm: The most destructive ability of All Flare. From his hands he can emit a shock-wave of pure heat that at its strongest unleashes the force of a volcanic eruption. Not only that, but it can destroy entire buildings from over a mile away. He used this ability during the raid on the Noumu factory to effortlessly knock out all the Pro heroes, kill their police assistance, and destroy a large section of the city in one blast.
  • So Proud of You: His reaction to Izuku whaling on him and managing some good hits is a grin and a heartfelt "not bad, son".
  • Superpower Lottery: All Flare and his natural abilities as a Chimera give him the winning ticket. His fire abilities in particular are incredibly diverse.
  • Super-Speed: Not capitalized on, but he has been shown moving so fast that Pros and the aces of Class-1A can barely react at all.
  • Super-Strength: His enhanced physical strength lets him trade blows with All Might, though he's still not physically as strong as him.
  • Super-Toughness: He can shrug off 100% smash attacks and keep going.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: While he's still a villain, him almost killing his son and his talk with Dabi seems to have given him some perspective on parenting, as he's now trying be something of a passable father to his son. A later meeting with Inko further cements this, when he promises to never raise a hand to their child ever again.
  • Villainous BSoD: He practically shut down in the middle of battle when he almost accidentally killed Izuku, which left him open for Katsuki to hit him pointblank with an explosion and end the fight. Afterwards, the other villains mentioned him being still in shock long after his fight with the Pro Heroes was over.
  • Worf Had the Flu: The only reason Izuku was able to put up a fight against him was because Viper was not in the right state of mind thanks to being denounced by his own son in favor of All Might. Izuku also lucks out in being immune to Viper's flames, but the same applies to Viper- he himself is unable to be hurt by his child's fire Quirk.

    Tomura Shigaraki

Tomura Shigaraki / Tenko Shimura

The leader of the League of Villains and the apprentice of All For One. He was originally the grandson of Nana Shimura, All Might's mentor, until he was taken in by All For One sometime after he accidentally killed his father with his Quirk. He's a mentally imbalanced killer who gets easily frustrated when things don't go his way. His Quirk, "Decay", lets him disintegrate anything his hands come into contact with so long as all five fingers ensnare the object in question.
  • Entitled to Have You: When he recognizes that Izuku is Heat Viper's son, he switches from wanting to kill him to wanting him as a "pet" since Heat Viper was his master's "pet".
  • Evil Uncle: Through adoption, he's this to Izuku. Not only he picked Villainy as his life career, he wants to use his own nephew as his attack dog.
  • Foil: To Izuku. Shigaraki can boast a Heroic Lineage yet is groomed to become the next evil mastermind after All For One, while Izuku fervently works to ascend as the next Symbol of Peace in spite of his villainous legacy.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Since All For One adopted Hisashi out of commodity, he's Heat Viper's brother and Izuku's uncle.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Almost as bad as Katsuki. Almost.

    Kurogiri

Kurogiri

The second-in-command of the League of Villains and their means of transportation. When he's not helping Tomura manage the League of Villains, he spends a great deal of time continuing missions given to him by All for One prior to his master's imprisonment. He uses his "Warp Gate" Quirk to transport things and people to various locations.
  • Battle Butler: When not on mission, he almost functions as the League's butler, though he's more of a bartender.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: He's more forward-thinking than Tomura. He's smart enough to monitor both the inside and outside of the USJ in the event a student punches a hole in the building to try and escape. He immediately brings Izuku to Tomura during the attack not just to prevent him from doing so again, but also because he's "special".

    Dabi

Dabi

A member of the League of Villains, Dabi joins Tomura's organization not just because of his supposed link to Stain, but also because he's interested in meeting Heat Viper. He possesses an immensely powerful fire Quirk, Cremation, that lets him unleash huge blasts of blue fire. Dabi is generally quite secretive about his past and has even refused to give the rest of the League his real name, instead going by an alias. Dabi bears horrific burn scars all over his body, and even his tear ducts have been so badly burnt that he can no longer cry.
  • Abusive Parents: How bad it was? Dabi would rather believe in Hisashi's redemption than his own father's. This is after Hisashi impaled his own kid on a metal pipe, mind you. Like in many other fandoms, his father is implied to be Endeavor, though far more subtly.
  • Berserk Button: Due to his own abusive father, he's very sensitive to child mistreatment.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: On the receiving end of one when he fought Izuku at the training camp. Granted, it was a clone of him created by Twice, but considering that his Quirk is fire based, it would have gone the same way had it been the real him fighting anyway.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: After learning what the Eight Precepts did to Eri, Dabi flat-out says he will dump Tomura if the guy even thinks about allying with them.
  • Foil: He's aware that Hisashi and Izuku closely mirrors his father and him, with the difference that Hisashi actually does love Izuku.
  • Playing with Fire: He emits powerful blasts of blue flames from his hands.
  • Warrior Therapist: An extremely powerful pyrokinetic who imparts genuinely good advice about parent-kid relationships to Heat Viper.

    Himiko Toga

Himiko Toga

A member of the League of Villains and a Second-Generation Chimera, just like Izuku. Introduced originally as a crazed killer, Izuku discovers that her violent streak is due to a horrifying psychological condition imparted on her after a kidnapping that resulted in her father's murder and her mother's disappearance, which causes Izuku to realize that she can be helped. Her Chimera-type Quirk gives her various abilities that are specialized for infiltration and assassination.
  • Affably Evil: When she's not cutting someone or suffering from blood deprivation, she's fairly pleasant to be around. As time goes on and she works with Izuku to heal her damaged psyche, she gradually becomes kinder and more sane.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Zigzagged. On one hand, her parents were a lot more accepting of her blood obsession and she had a perfectly happy family, but then something terrible happened and it has a more visible effect on her than in the anime and manga, where she was perfectly accepting of that because it was their "normal".
  • Adaptational Badass: She discovers her ability to copy the quirks of who she transforms into much earlier than canon, and can use the quirks without transforming fully. She uses this a lot during her and Izuku's final battle with Overhaul. Also, being a Chimera, she has few other quirks as well.
  • Adaptational Heroism: She shows a genuine interest in wanting to better herself, while her canon counterpart is thoroughly unrepentant in her crimes. She even helps save Eri from the Eight Precepts, and saves both Izuku and Ochako from certain death.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Being a Chimera, she has several quirks, hers in particular involving stealth and assassination. In addition to her canon shapeshifting powers, she can change her hair and eye color, teleport short distances, and possibly turn invisible. Similar to Izuku, she also experiences backlash. When she teleports too much, it gives her brain damage.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: She starts to nurse a bit of affection towards Izuku when he genuinely tries to help her with her mental issues. As time goes on and they continue to work on healing her fractured mind, she steadily grows more and more attracted to him. After Izuku comforts her over her murder of Chronostasis, she resolves to ask Izuku if they can be more than friends when things become less hectic.
  • Blood Lust: She has a tragic addiction to blood as a kind of coping mechanism after the damage her mind took following her kidnapping.
  • Daddy's Girl: Since Himiko's father's Quirk also needed blood for activation, he naturally took it upon himself to teach her control, and was very patient and kind with his daughter.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Her mother was a convict who married her parole officer. Under all accounts, they were a pretty normal, happy family... until Mr. Toga was violently murdered and his wife and daughter disappeared. All For One later implies he made Himiko the way she is now.
  • Foil: Both Izuku and Himiko are second-gen Chimeras linked to All For One and quite sweet when you can get past their facade of self-loathing or instability. However, Izuku got an overwhelmingly powerful Quirk for front-line combat and actively rejects his villainous legacy, while Himiko inherited more subtle abilities for infiltration and assassination, and was essentially conscripted to be a killer against her will.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Just like Izuku, she's a downplayed case as her mother was an Artificial Human.
  • Insane Equals Violent: When she's really stressed, she needs to have blood in order to not lose all grips on her mental state. This condition of hers has been described as similar to alcoholism or an addiction, as the lack of blood will eventually erode away at her mental state until she's unable to differentiate murderous tendencies from normal behaviors.
  • I've Come Too Far: She's fully aware she will be taken to the asylum if she's captured, but she and Izuku foster a little hope in the tiny chance that one day, she might be able to live freely. When she met Eri for the first time, she refrained from physical contact with her for too long because she felt like she was somehow tainting the child.
  • Kissing Cousins: Sort of, but not really. Since she's also a second-generation Chimera, she and Izuku are technically cousins, but only by a minor genetic relation due to how their respective parents were created. Ultimately averted, however, since All For One only ever adopted Hisashi and not any of the other Chimera, and the genetic relation is so minor that it's the equivalent of comparing the DNA of one random human to another random human.
  • Lima Syndrome: She meets Izuku when he's taken as a prisoner by the criminal organization she belongs to, and they slowly forge a close bond. This bond is only deepened when Izuku promises to save her, and protects Himiko from his father when Hisashi threatened to attack her.
  • Missing Mom: Mrs. Toga disappeared with her daughter the same day Mr. Toga was murdered. She was confirmed to be alive but her whereabouts are currently unknown.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Normally, she enjoys the sight of blood. So it's telling that the sight of Izuku bloody, beaten, and impaled on a metal pipe caused her to feel nothing but horror. She's also so disgusted by the sight and smell of Izuku's body after his clash with Overhaul that she throws up.
  • Stealth Expert: Tsukauchi hypothesizes she's intended to be this, since her Quirk is good for infiltration.
  • Tragic Villain: A traumatized, mentally-unstable teenage girl who really needs psychiatric help to stop killing people in messy and gory fashions.
  • Yandere: Downplayed. She shows signs of this for Izuku while in her more blood-hungry state, but has yet to show this while satiated. She even saves Ochako, who also has a crush on Izuku.

    Muscular

Muscular

A powerhouse of the League of Villains that joined the main strike squad with the rest of their major players. He is responsible for the death of Kouta's parents, the Water Hose Hero Duo. He was killed accidentally by Izuku Midoriya during the attack on the U.A. Training Camp.
  • Asshole Victim: An unrepentant mass-murderer that the world's better off without. None of the U.A. teachers blame Izuku for his death and say it was completely justified, especially given the circumstances.
  • Blood Knight: He only lives for bloodshed and fighting. His whole reason for joining the League was because it gave him excuses to kill whomever he wanted.
  • Death by Adaptation: His canon self is still alive, but imprisoned. In Viridescent, Izuku accidentally killed Muscular with a 100% Hulkbuster Smash whilst attempting to incapacitate him.
  • Super-Strength: His primary power. His Quirk, Muscle Augmentation, allows him to manipulate and amplify his muscles freely, giving him immense strength and speed. Muscle fibers can be enlarged to the point that they are no longer contained by the skin, which Muscular employs as a shield of sorts when necessary to improve his durability. By doing so, he is capable of increasing his natural strength many times over to the point that he can meet blows from One for All at 100%. That being said, his Quirk has a few weaknesses, primarily being that places on the body with few muscles are vulnerable to attack. Izuku exploited this weakness by attacking Muscular's head with One for All's full strength, a strategy that ultimately killed Muscular.

Eight Precepts of Death

    Kai Chisaki - Overhaul

Kai Chisaki / Overhaul

Kai Chisaki is the leader of a Yakuza group called the Shie Hassaikai (Eight Precepts of Death). He wants to restore the Yakuza to its former glory with Eri's Quirk, the source of his Quirk-destroying Bullets. His Quirk, Overhaul, allows him to destroy and restore anything, be it organic matter or not.

  • Adaptational Wimp: By no means is Kai weak, but in Viridescent, he has an awful hand dealt to him. He loses Eri for months before tracking her down, loses both of his lieutenants back to back, AND the League steals all of the Hassaikai's funds right out from under his nose.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Izuku. The narration in the title of Chapter 53 is called Eternal Enemies. In fact, everyone can agree that Izuku's hatred for his father paled in comparison to that of Kai.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He grew up on the streets until he was taken in by a Yakuza boss, who gave him a place to stay.
  • Death by Adaptation: During the raid on the Yakuza stronghold, Izuku and Himiko engaged Chisaki in a savage fight, which resulted in Izuku and Chisaki being injected by a highly-potent Trigger drug (the former by accident). Following this, the fight became even more brutal, finally ending when Izuku ripped Chisaki's left arm off and caved his steel plague mask into his face. This final blow killed Chisaki instantly.
  • Evil Overlord: Just like his canon counterpart, Overhaul is a sociopath who only cares about restoring the Yakuza to its former glory. Nothing else matters to him.
  • Fate Worse than Death: As if losing Eri for good wasn't bad enough, he wakes up in the League's clutches and is doomed to spend the rest of his days as a Nomu, and if you've read this story to this point and know him from canon, you know he doesn't get off easy.
  • Humiliation Conga: He loses Eri in the first week of UA's school year, loses Mimic during a kidnapping attempt before being driven away by Heat Viper, a Tomura clone explodes in his face right after the League steals all of the Shie Hassaikai's money, loses Chronostasis when Himiko infiltrated the Yakuza base and killed him, gets in debt to a Russian Crime Lord, and during the raid, Izuku blows half his face off with a Black Panther Smash.
  • Skyward Scream: Overhaul unleashes one after finding Chronostasis dead with no way to restore him.

    Hari Kurono - Chronostasis

Hari Kurono / Chronostasis

Chisaki's Lieutenant. Aside from Mimic, Chronostasis is the only person Overhaul legitimately trusts. His quirk, Chronostasis, gives him to use his hair to "freeze" anyone he cuts with it. The duration of his power varies on which "hand" he used.
  • Death by Adaptation: During the League and Wolfram's heist, Himiko shoots him through the head and uses Tomura's borrowed Quirk to disintegrate his corpse, making it impossible to Overhaul him.
  • Time Master: Sort of. His Quirk allows him to temporarily slow down someone's time. How long this effect lasts depends on which "hand" he cuts his opponent with.
