Class 1-A

    In General
  • Adaptational Badass: Thanks to their training with the Autobots, several members of Class 1-A get a better handle on their quirks before the Sports Festival arc. Like Izuku not breaking his bones when using One For All or Denki not short-circuiting his brain when he overuses his quirk. Momo also is a lot less hesitant when it comes to decision-making in battle due to this too.
  • Always in Class One: Aside from Mei, pretty much all the main characters are in Class 1-A.
  • Badass Adorable: They're all cute teenagers with quirks who can kick any villain or Decepticon's ass.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Yes, Class 1-A can be a bunch of goofballs, but put them in any sort of crisis situation and they'll prove that they're more than fit to become the next generation of pro heroes.
  • Calling Your Attacks: A lot of Class 1-A calls their attacks, including Midoriya's "Smash!", Uraraka's "Release!", Tokoyami's "Dark Shadow!", Bakugo's "DIE!", Kaida's dinosaur moves, and Kaminari's "Indiscriminate Shock! 1.3 Million Volts!".
  • Clark Kent Outfit: The U.A. uniform is somewhat baggy on most male characters, and doesn't show the fact that most characters are notably ripped for their age. This is particularly true with Ida and Midoriya. The former has the body of a bodybuilder, to the point of having an 8-pack, and Midoriya, whose silhouette changes immensely through the story. The track outfit is more generous with the fact they're buff.
  • Designated Parents: Iida and Yaoyorozu are the Team Dad and Team Mom of the group respectively.
  • Doom Magnet: Class 1-A sure does run into a lot of villains and Decepticons.
  • Fandom-Specific Plot: As par the course with many My Hero Academia fanfics, Mineta is written out of the story, with his spot in in-class taken by Kiryu.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: After facing many dangers together, Class 1-A has become incredibly tight-knit.
  • Fire, Ice, Lightning: The three most powerful students in Class 1-A form a trio of this type, with Bakugou's fiery explosions, Todoroki's ice, and the green lightning that surrounds Midoriya when he uses One For All.
  • Heroic Build: All the guys in Class 1-A are ripped for their age, as pro heroes have to be for their line of work.
  • Heroic RRoD: Many of them have a physical limit to how much of their power they can safely use at once. For example, using too much electricity will cause Kaminari's brain to short-circuit for an hour, while Ashido can't release too much acid without burning herself.
  • Kid Hero: For a looser definition of "kid", they're a bunch of teenagers attending a Superhero School. Despite training to become pro heroes, many of them still have the mentalities of children.
  • Nice Guy: All of them are relatively decent people.
  • Out of Focus: Aside from Izuku, Kyoka, Momo, Tenya, Ochaco, Mina, Ejiro, Denki, and later Shoto; the rest of the kids take a back seat for a good chunk of the story due to being Locked Out of the Loop regarding the Autobots and Decepticons.
  • True Companions: Because of everything they have faced together, Class 1-A and the Autobots have become a tightly-knit team of young heroes who always have each other's backs and are determined to defend each other no matter what.
  • Wacky Homeroom: They're certainly a colorful bunch. They've got the cocky delinquent, the goth, two straight-laced Class Representatives, the stereotypical boisterous Book Dumb students, etc. Not to mention some of them barely look human... and they've all got superpowers.

    Izuku Midoriya

Izuku Midoriya — Deku

Quirk: One For All, Quirkless (Formerly)

Click here to see him in uniform

Izuku Midoriya is a boy who dreams of one day becoming a hero just like his idol, the Number One Hero: All Might. But due to not possessing a Quirk, he was constantly looked down on, especially by his former best friend: Katsuki Bakugo. Fortunately, after performing an act of selflessness that caught the attention of All Might; the world's strongest hero gave Izuku a chance to achieve his dream while also becoming the ninth wielder of the quirk: One For All. He is the first to discover Bumblebee while cleaning up Dagobah Beach.

  • Adaptational Badass: Izuku learns Full Cowling much earlier than in canon, before the Sports Festival. By the time the Sports Festival begins, he's able to use about 10 percent of One For All. And during his internship with Gran Torino and Mirko, he begins developing Shoot Style a season earlier.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Izuku and Kyoka didn't have many interactions in canon, with the only scene of them together is when Izuku helps Kyoka arrange her notes for the Cultural Festival. Here, due to arriving for the U.A. Entrance Exam early, it was Kyoka who saved Izuku from tripping on the floor and as a result, became his first friend and later helped him in rebranding the name "Deku". She even became Izuku's love interest.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Aside from the name "Deku" being rebranded into something positive; Kyoka refers to Izuku as "Green Bean" and "Celery Stick".
  • All-Loving Hero: When Bakugo's bullying past comes to light after his match against Kaida in the Sports Festival, Izuku jumps to his defense insisting on giving him a chance to improve himself when Aizawa and Nezu plan on expelling him. This is despite the fact that Izuku was his main target for many years.
  • Ascended Fanboy: He's a huge fan of All Might and got the opportunity to become his successor.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Before receiving One For All, Izuku studied and analyzed various Quirks, Heroes, and their fighting styles for years. This has given him a keen eye for observation and has helped him during the Cavalry Battle of the Sports Festival; where he was able to use his, Kyoka, and Kaida's Quirks combined with Hatsume's gadgets to their fullest potential.
  • Badass Adorable: Despite being an awkward nerd who is constantly nervous and stutters around girls, especially his crush, Kyoka; Izuku is willing to put his life on the line to save his friends and the innocent, even if he has to break his own bones to do so.
  • Badass in Distress:
    • During the attack at the USJ, it was Izuku who gets held hostage by the electric villain instead of Kaminari and he can't use One For All to free himself without destroying his body. Thankfully, Windblade arrives just in time.
    • Happens again when Swindle captures him, Ochaco, and Itsuka to use them as leverage to make a deal with Arcee and Flare Up.
  • Bad Liar: Yeah, Izuku is not very good at lying, especially if he's taken by surprise. His attempt at pretending his Quirk is not connected to All Might's doesn't fool Optimus for a second. Even when he tried to smooth-talk Kyoka by telling her he's not in Hosu, the punk rocker saw right through it.
  • Battle Cry: SMAAAAASHHHHH!!!!!
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Izuku is a nice and polite boy, but he will kick your ass if you hurt the innocent or his friends. Dropkick and a Scraplet learned this the hard way.
  • Birds of a Feather: Both he and Kyoka are this as they are training to become heroes who bring hope and smiles to everyone.
  • Blow You Away: His smash attacks can unleash huge gusts of wind.
  • Broken Tears: Breaks down crying when he learns that Swindle and MECH kidnapped his mother.
  • Bully and Wimp Pairing: Had this dynamic with Bakugo who bullied him for years.
  • Cannot Talk to Women: Due to being bullied for most of his life, Izuku doesn't have a lot of experience socializing, especially when it comes to girls. Though it later gets subverted when Izuku meets Mei as well as with most of his first human friends being girls, he slowly gets better at talking to women; even with his crush, Kyoka.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: While training for the U.A. Entrance Exam, All Might puts Izuku on an extreme training regime that involves cleaning all the garbage on Dagobah Beach. This was done in order for his body to better sustain One For All. It doesn't completely work, but Izuku continues to train with Full Cowling to mitigate this issue.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Izuku possesses a strong drive to save anyone in danger no matter what; so strong that his body moves on its own to save the day. This was one of the main reasons why All Might chose him to be his successor. This was shown when he rushed in to save Bumblebee from Dropkick crushing him despite the severe backlash One For All has on his body.
  • Classical Anti-Hero: Izuku is shy, timid, clumsy, and prone to crying, but after some encouragement from All Might, Kyoka, and Bumblebee; he's slowly starting to overcome these habits to become a strong, brave, and confident hero who people can count on.
  • Cool Helmet: Mei replaced the hood of Izuku's costume with a helmet that resembles Kamen Rider.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Growing up Quirkless, Izuku had it rough. Not having a Quirk was a major handicap on his dream of becoming a hero. His childhood friend, Katsuki Bakugo, turned on him and became a sadistic and violent bully who made it his goal to ostracize Izuku and make his life as miserable as possible; not even his classmates and teachers at Aldera spared him from harassment. It was only when All Might offered Izuku the chance to become his successor and started gaining friends of his own that his life started to turn around for the better.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Izuku becomes this after hanging around Kyoka for a while.
  • The Determinator: If there is anyone in need of saving, Izuku won't lie down until he saves them, even if he has to break his own body to beat the bad guys and save the day.
  • Disappeared Dad: There is no mention of Izuku's father. When MECH was searching for information on the families of the U.A. students that Swindle came across, they couldn't find any mention of him aside from his name, Hisashi Midoriya. Although Silas admitted he did hear of someone named Hisashi when he used to work for the government but with a different surname.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Izuku finally lets out all his frustrations towards Katsuki in their battle during the Sports Festival Finals and finally defeats his bully in a fair fight.
  • Dork Knight: A heroic student at U.A. who is also a polite, cute, awkward, and nerdy guy; especially around his crush.
  • Endearingly Dorky: Izuku's admiration and dedication to becoming a hero as well as his social awkwardness make him this. His crush, Kyoka, finds this very cute and even calls him a cinnamon roll.
  • Expy: To Charlie from the Bumblebee movie. Both are teenagers who had a hard time fitting in among their peers before receiving some encouragement from Bumblebee, resulting in them making friends of their own.
  • First-Name Basis: Both Izuku and Kyoka started calling each other by their first names after Aizawa's Quirk Apprehension Test.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: Both him and Bumblebee are this.
  • Foil: To Bakugo. Both admire All Might and have wanted to become heroes since they were kids, albeit for different reasons. While Izuku is a Shrinking Violet Un-Sorcerer who believes a hero should save those in need, Bakugo is a Born Lucky Jerkass who believes a hero is someone who wins no matter what. The way they resolved their battles against their semi-final opponents at the Sports Festival differ as well. While Izuku was able to encourage Shoto to bring out his true power in a positive way, Bakugo brought out Kaida's true power in a negative manner.
  • Genius Bruiser: Izuku is one of the toppers in academics in his class just behind Tenya and Momo. He worked his ass off to inherit One For All and with his intellect and some help learned how to properly control the amount of power he can use through "Full Cowling". He constantly uses his strategic mind on the fly midbattle while also dishing out some powerful punches and kicks on his opponents.
  • Good Is Not Soft: He smashed a Scraplet to death with a crowbar as it attempted to eat Bumblebee and continued to smash it until Kyoka grabbed the crowbar from his hands and told him it was already dead.
  • Heroic RRoD: The power of One For All is indeed impressive, but using it comes at the cost of destroying Izuku's body. It was only after he developed "Full Cowling" that he was able to control the amount of power he could handle.
  • Hero-Worshipper: Izuku is an avid Otaku of all heroes, especially his idol, All Might.
  • Hidden Depths: Due to spending years taking notes on Quirks and Heroes in his notebook, Izuku also has a talent for drawing pictures of people. So good that his classmates wanted him to draw them.
  • Humble Hero: Izuku's main goal of becoming a hero is to save people with a smile on his face like his idol, All Might. Unlike most heroes, he doesn't care about fame or money.
  • In-Series Nickname: He has many, mostly from Kyoka and Mei: Deku, Celery Stick, Broccoli Hair, Green Bean, Muscles, and so on.
  • Legacy Hero: He's the Ninth wielder of the Quirk, One For All.
  • Megaton Punch: His Smash attacks are powerful enough to harm Decepticons and send them flying.
  • Messy Hair: His hair is curly and sticks out in every direction.
  • Nerd Action Hero: He's a nerd who fanboys about the various heroes he's heard of, especially All Might. After Izuku is chosen to wield One For All by All Might, he soon becomes one of 1A's strongest students once he develops "Full Cowling", and with his knowledge of various heroes, Quirks, and combat tactics; he quickly establishes himself as a strong hero in the making.
  • Nice Guy: Izuku is a very friendly, loyal, guy who is willing to help out anyone who is in danger and is one of the nicest people anyone can come across.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Izuku's one of the shortest students in his class and with the power of One For All, he's definitely one of 1-A's strongest fighters. He's so strong he can even hold his own against Decepticons who tower over him.
  • Precision F-Strike: Hanging around Kyoka has made Izuku slightly more bolder to swearing than he was in canon.
Izuku: (Thinking) Dammit, Kyoka, you are a bad influence on me!
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: He gives a major one to Bakugo during the finale of the Sports Festival.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red oni to Kyoka's blue. Despite Izuku's introverted nature, he's much more excitable compared to the laidback Kyoka. This leads to Kyoka reining him in whenever he goes off into his mumble storms.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: Upon Kyoka's request, Momo creates a red scarf to go with his new Cool Helmet. After hearing that his crush likes it, Izuku decided to keep the scarf on.
  • Secretly Selfish: Izuku begins to wonder if he is this after meeting and seeing other Quirkless people like Agent Fowler and Snake Eyes, who are capable of handling themselves in a fight despite possessing no power of their own, making Izuku wonder if him having One For All let him take the easy way out.
  • Ship Tease: With Kyoka.
  • Socially Awkward Hero: Izuku doesn't have a lot of social experience due to being constantly bullied for being Quirkless for most of his life. Mei, Bumblebee, and Kyoka are his first friends to help break him out of his awkward shell.
  • Thinking Out Loud: Izuku is prone to mumbling whenever he's focused on a certain topic (usually heroes), a habit that creeps people out. This prompts his best friend, Kyoka, to snap him out of it with her jacks.
  • Un-Sorcerer: Izuku was born as a part of the 20 percent of the human population who didn't have a Quirk as it result it made him the target of all kinds of bullying and racist remarks.

    Kyoka Jiro

Kyoka Jiro — Earphone Jack

Quirk: Earphone Jack

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kyoka_jiro_s4.png
Click here to see her in uniform

An aloof and sarcastic teenager who enrolls into U.A. High to become a hero. Kyoka's Quirk, Earphone Jack, takes the form of elongated earlobes ending in jack plugs, which she can extend and plug into objects to catch extremely faint sounds or channel the sound of her own heartbeat into them in the form of powerful vibrations. She becomes one of the first people to find out about Bumblebee and the Cybertronian war.

  • Action Girl: She is capable of unleashing powerful soundwaves that are capable of destroying a Cybertronian's audio receptors by inserting her earphone jacks into her amplifier jacks or stereo boots.
    • This is taken even further after she receives martial arts training from Snake Eyes during her internships.
  • A-Cup Angst: Due to her small bust size, Kyoka is self-conscious about her body as she felt insecure when she saw all the other girls in her class in their hero costumes which showed off their...assets.
  • Actually Pretty Funny: She tries her hardest not to laugh when Shoto asks if Izuku is All Might's secret love child.
  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Thanks to Izuku's help, Kyoka was able to make some upgrades to her hero costume and as a result, received her headphones and Amplifier Jacks early on.
    • Kyoka later trained under Snake Eyes during her internships to learn martial arts from the Joe, which she later uses in tandem with her Quirk.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: She appears a bit before the entrance exam when she saves Izuku from falling to the ground.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: In canon, Kyoka has minimal interactions with Bakugo but eventually develops a friendship with him by the time of the Cultural Festival and Joint Training Arc. Here, she outright despises him after learning how he barbarically bullied her best friend/crush; Izuku.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Kyo by Jazz, and Jackie by Mei.
  • Anger Born of Worry: She tends to be this to Izuku whenever the latter overexerts himself with his quirk or does something extremely reckless.
  • Ascended Extra: Unlike in canon, Kyoka becomes Izuku's first friend when he enrolls at U.A. High and plays a major role in the story.
  • Beautiful Singing Voice: Despite being somewhat insecure about her talent, she really does have a great singing voice.
  • Best Friend: She becomes this for Izuku after they meet again at the end of the U.A. Entrance Exam.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When Izuku, Ochaco, and Itsuka are kidnapped by Swindle, Kyoka and Momo sneak into the Decepticon's ship to save them.
  • Birds of a Feather: Both she and Izuku are this as they are training to become heroes who bring hope and smiles to everyone.
  • Boyish Short Hair: She's a tomboy musician with short purple hair down to her chin.
  • Broken Tears: Breaks down crying when she learns that Swindle and MECH kidnapped her parents.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Kyoka has a hard time expressing her feelings to Izuku. She is capable of expressing them privately in song though.
  • Character Tics: Kyoka subconsciously twirls her own jacks at times.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Kyoka got annoyed when Izuku kept getting slammed into by not only Mina but Mei as well.
  • Deadpan Snarker: The biggest one out of all the students in her class.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Played for Laughs. In a fit of frustration, Kyoka agreed to bring Izuku over for dinner with her parents after their hero internships were over when her dad continued to be overprotective and viewed Izuku in a negative light. Once they leave, Kyoka realizes that not only will her dad be overprotective, but there's a chance her mom will show off her baby pictures. Kyoka could only blush in embarrassment at the thought.
  • Dope Slap: A variation. She shocks people with her jacks whenever they do something stupid or piss her off. She also uses them to shock Izuku whenever he goes into his usual mumble storms.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: She noticed how jacked Izuku looked in his Beta hero costume before snapping back to her senses when she realized what she was doing.
  • Fan of the Past: Mostly music and movies from before Quirks, which she shares with Bumblebee and her teammates.
  • First-Name Basis: Both Kyoka and Izuku started calling each other by their first names after Aizawa's Quirk Apprehension Test.
  • The Gadfly: Like in canon, she jokingly calls Denki "Jamming Yay" due to the dumb state he enters into when short-circuits his brain with his Quirk.
  • Goth: Of the punk rock variety.
  • Hate at First Sight:
    • Kyoka's first introduction to Bakugo is this after she saw him pinning Izuku against the wall outside the school and angrily demanding to know if he cheated to get accepted into U.A. High. It's because of this she hates the blonde with a passion and only refrains from exposing his horrible actions out of respect for Izuku's wishes.
    • She also didn't like Endeavor, with the Flame Hero demanding that she and her friends should leave the Sector 7 facility very rudely. After hearing how he abused his own family, her hatred for him increased even further.
  • He Is Not My Boyfriend: Her default reaction whenever someone brings up her crush or relationship with Izuku.
  • Hero-Worshipper: She's a huge fan of the Dragon Hero: Ryukyu as she tried really hard to keep herself from shrieking like a Fangirl upon meeting her.
  • Hidden Depths: She's a talented musician and has in-depth knowledge of many songs.
  • Hypocritical Humour: She groans at Denki and Ibara's sweet moment calling it "too saccharine that it hurts" despite how she has plenty of moments with Izuku.
  • It's All My Fault: She blames herself for Agent Burns getting hurt.
  • Jerkass Realization: Kyoka realizes that she was being unfair to Agent Burns after he saved her and regrets the way she behaved towards him.
  • Logical Weakness: While her jacks give her enhanced hearing, it also means extremely loud noises can cause her discomfort and pain.
  • Make Some Noise: Kyoka can send vibrations of her heartbeat to objects she plugs her jacks into. By inserting her jacks into her Amplifier Jacks and Stereo Boots, she can unleash powerful sound waves that are deafening and devastating. According to some Vehicons, she's as loud as Soundwave.
  • The Nicknamer: Similarly to Mei, she tends to give nicknames to people she's close to.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite being more composed than Izuku, she was still fangirling just as much as he was when they met the Top 10 Pro Heroes at the Sector Seven meeting.
  • Promoted to Love Interest: She becomes Izuku's love interest.
  • Properly Paranoid: While her friends think she's overthinking her upcoming internship with Snake Eyes, she was right about suspecting ninjas were tailing her.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: She's the blue oni to Izuku's red. Despite being more outspoken than her best friend, Kyoka is more laid back than the energetic Izuku. This leads to Kyoka reining him in whenever the boy devolves into one of his mumble storms, especially if it involves heroes.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: When her cover at Snake Eyes' Hero Agency is blown, Kyoka makes a break for it. Thankfully, Agent Fowler shows up to clear the misunderstanding between her and the Joes.
  • Secret-Keeper: She's one of the first few people alongside Izuku who found out about the secret war between the Autobots and Decepticons.
  • Ship Tease: With Izuku.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: The reason Kyoka is attracted to Izuku is because she finds him awkward but cute, a really Nice Guy, and his drive to be a hero is something she admires.
  • Socially Awkward Hero:
    • Not to the same level as Izuku, but Kyoka can feel awkward and embarrassed when put into situations that make her the center of attention. When the whole class had their eyes on her and Izuku upon opening the classroom door, her response was to slowly back out and hope they didn't notice.
    • This occurs even when others point out her crush on Izuku or when someone mentions that both of them are getting a bit too close to each other. Something that embarrasses her to no end.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Kyoka may be cold, snarky, and indifferent to most people; but she has a soft side for her crush, Izuku, and her friends.
  • Super-Hearing: Her jacks enable her to hear the faintest of sounds and allow her to hear what's going on when plugged into a surface.
  • Tomboy: Unlike the girls in her class, Kyoka is more sarcastic and not afraid to speak her mind to the people she dislikes. She also dresses more like a punk instead of wearing girly clothes.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy to Momo's girly girl.

    Momo Yaoyorozu

Momo Yaoyorozu — Creati

Quirk: Creation

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/momo_yaoyorozu_s4.png
Click here to see her in uniform

Momo is a rich girl from a wealthy family who was able to enroll into U.A. on recommendations. Momo learned about the secret of the Cybertronian war after seeing Bumblebee at the USJ.

  • The Ace: Momo got accepted into U.A. on recommendations and is one of, if not, the most intelligent student of Class 1-A. Her intelligence combined with her Creation Quirk make her very versatile and resourceful.
  • Action Girl: She's skilled in using a bostaff in combat and has learned how to use her Quirk in many offensive waves. She also receives martial arts training from Edgeshot during her internships.
  • Adaptational Badass: In canon, Momo had the flaw of being unable to make spur-of-the-moment decisions which resulted in her loss at the Sports Festival. Here, after receiving training from Windblade, she was able to overcome her hesitation and can now properly plan in mid-battle which led to her winning the first round of the one-on-one matches.
  • Adaptational Modesty: Momo initially started off with her Stripperiffic Hero costume. However, prior to the rescue mission for Midnight and Bumblebee, Mei modified Momo's costume from a skimpy one-piece to a two-piece; with only her boots remaining the same. She now wears a pair of short shorts and a crimson top with a zipper; with the only thing revealing is her midriff, lower back, arms, and legs.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When Izuku, Ochaco, and Itsuka were kidnapped by Swindle, Kyoka and Momo sneaked into the Decepticon's ship to save them.
  • Character Tics: Momo tends to clap her hands together when she's excited about something.
  • Class Representative: Momo is the Vice President of Class 1-A.
  • Crazy-Prepared: She learned how to create any and everything that might come in handy in her job as a heroine. After some training with Windblade, Momo even learned how to create Cybertronian tech such as the tracer she planted on Shadow Striker when the Decepticon kidnapped Bumblebee and Midnight.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Not as much as Kyoka, but Momo has her moments.
  • The Gunslinger: During the raid on the Darksyde, Momo is shown to have great skills with a rifle she created. Apparently, her parents had her take sharpshooting lessons.
  • Hero-Worshipper: Like Kyoka, Momo is a huge fan of Ryukyu and shrieked like a Fangirl when the Dragon Hero praised them for how they handled the villain attack at the USJ.
  • Humble Hero: Despite her enormous wealth, Momo wishes to become a hero who helps those in need.
  • Innocently Insensitive: When Windblade reveals how Cybertron's lifestyle is through a caste system, she asks her friends if they can imagine the people of their world being treated like that due to their Quirks, not knowing that Izuku has faced discrimination for being Quirkless for many years. To her credit, she apologizes to Izuku for her comment.
    • Much like canon, she also boasts about her wealth, much to the shock of her classmates.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: When she, Kyoka, and Mei were being cuffed by Sector Seven, she was the only one to not resist as it was pointless.
  • Long Hair Is Feminine: She has long hair that she ties into a spiky ponytail.
  • Matter Replicator: Momo's quirk, Creation, allows her to create any inorganic material from the lipids in her body so long as she understands the atomic structure of said material.
  • Nice Girl: Momo's a nice and polite girl who is willing to help anyone in need. She even offered to help Kyoka get hooked up with Izuku.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite being one of the mature and levelheaded students in her class, she didn't hesitate to tease Kyoka about her crush on Izuku.
    • While composed most of the time, she was shrieking like a Fangirl when she met Ryukyu.
  • One-Way Visor: One of the upgrades Momo receives for her new costume is the Momo-Visor built by both Mei and Red Alert. The visor improves her vision while also displaying the components of the material she types through her wrist gauntlet.
  • Red Is Heroic: Her hero costume is red scarlet in color. And she is working hard like the rest of her classmates to be the best hero that she can be.
  • Required Secondary Powers: Momo's quirk is very powerful and versatile but she needs to know the entire structure of the object she wants to create down to the atomic level in order to create it properly.
  • Romantic Wingman: She wants to help Kyoka with her feelings regarding Izuku, which the punk rocker accepts, so long as Momo doesn't force her into anything she isn't comfortable with.
  • Secret-Keeper: She finds out about the secret war between the Autobots and Decepticons after seeing Bumblebee transform in front of her at the USJ.
  • Shipper on Deck: She really finds the Belligerent Sexual Tension between Izuku and Kyoka to be cute and supports the idea of them being a couple.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Momo is a polite and elegant girl...who is also a great strategist, skilled with many weapons, and is the smartest student in Class 1-A.
  • Spoiled Sweet: She's very much loaded but a very nice person. Momo even mentions she never wanted to be one of those spoiled brats.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: She can create any weapon she wants instantly provided she knows its molecular makeup.
  • The Strategist: Momo is well-known for her genius intellect which allows her to come up with various strategies in battle.
  • Stripperiffic: Momo's original costume was quite revealing as Kyoka mused that even Midnight wore more clothes than her. Justified in that she needed more skin exposed in order to create items.
  • Super Wrist-Gadget: Alongside the Momo-Visor, her new costume also comes with a wrist gauntlet called the Yaoyoro-Database; a portable database that sends the information of anything Momo wants into her visor.
  • Token Rich Student: Unlike her classmates, Momo comes from a rich and wealthy family. With her family's connections, she provided the warehouse that the Autobots use as their base.
  • Teen Genius: Justified, as Momo needs to know the exact atomic structure and shape her creations are going to be.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The girly girl to Kyoka's tomboy.
  • Younger Than They Look: Despite having a mature bust and being the tallest girl in the whole class, Momo is a fifteen-year-old teenager.

    Tenya Iida

Tenya Iida — N/A

Quirk: Engine

Class 1-A's president. He's an earnest, goal-oriented young man who enrolls into U.A. in hopes of becoming a splendid hero just like his older brother, the Pro Hero: Ingenium.

  • Big Brother Worship: Tenya idolizes and looks up to her older brother, Tensei. As a result, he was heartbroken when he got crippled by the Hero Killer: Stain.
  • Birds of a Feather: Both Tenya and Strongarm are sticklers for the rules who won't hesitate to dictate them when someone breaks them.
  • Bizarre Human Biology: His Quirk gives him legs with engines attached that allow him to run at Super-Speed.
  • Character Tics: Tenya's known for chopping the air with his hand whenever he tries to get a point across. Kyoka notes even Bumblebee moves less robotically than him.
  • Class Representative: Serves as Class Representative, when Izuku stepped down.
  • Heroic Lineage: He comes from a family of heroes.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Due to his engines being made out of metal, the Scraplets tried to eat them.
  • In-Series Nickname: Specs by Mei and Emergency Exit by Kyoka.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: He chooses to intern with the Normal Hero: Manual so that he can get his revenge on Stain for crippling his brother as the Hero Killer was last seen in Hosu City where Manual's Agency is located.
  • Secret-Keeper: He comes to learn of the secret Cybertronian war between the Autobots and the Decepticons.
  • Ship Tease: With Mei.
  • Stepford Smiler: Like in canon, he gives one to his friends before leaving for Hosu to find Stain.
  • Super-Speed: The engines in his legs allow him to move at really fast speeds.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: He's a small male human compared to Strongarm, who is a female Cybertronian that towers over him.

An outgoing young girl whose Quirk, Zero Gravity, allows her to turn anything she touches weightless. Her parents own a construction site that hasn't gotten any work in a while and so she enrolls into U.A. to become a hero so she can earn the money to give her parents a good life.

  • Action Girl: Slowly grows into this, especially after receiving martial arts training with the Battle Hero: Gunhead.
  • Adaptational Badass: Thanks to Arcee's training, Ochaco can now use her Quirk multiple times without feeling nauseous.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Chaco, usually by Kyoka.
  • Badass Adorable: A cute and friendly girl who is training to be a Pro Hero, a profession known for fighting villains. She chooses to intern with Gunhead's Hero agency to learn more about combat.
  • Claustrophobia: She doesn't like cramped places and tends to panic when she's in those types of situations.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: When Mei decided to call her "Rosy Cheeks" for her nickname; Ochaco wasn't exactly pleased and became rather self-conscious.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Completely failed to notice that Itsuka has been living in the same apartment complex as her for months.
  • Gravity Master: Her Quirk allows her to turn anything or anyone weightless with a touch at the cost of leaving her nauseous if she exceeds her weight limit.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • Despite not being the one who rebranded the name Deku here; Ochaco still calls Izuku "Deku" after asking if he's okay with it because she feels it rolls off the tongue better than "Midoriya".
    • She still loses to Bakugo at the Sports Festival despite her training with Arcee.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: She and her friends have this reaction when they realize the Vehicon they killed was a sapient being.
  • Pink Heroine: She has traces of pink throughout her costume, and her Quirk manifests as a pink colour.
  • Point of Divergence:
    • Due to Izuku arriving at the U.A. Entrance Exams early thanks to Bumblebee, Ochaco wasn't able to meet him until much later. While they do become friends, they don't share the same level of closeness they had in canon.
    • She falls victim to Shinso's Brainwashing Quirk during the cavalry battle. As a result, she didn't join Izuku's team.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • Like Momo, she finds Izuku and Kyoka's interactions to be cute.
Ochaco: (Raised brow) You're certain those two aren't a couple? Because they sure act like one and it's cute as heck.
Momo: (Smirks) Trust me, I'm working on it.
    • She's also one for Bumblebee and Arcee.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Due to not joining Izuku's team here, she falls victim to Shinso's Brainwashing Quirk.

An excitable and emotional girl with a cute alien appearance. Mina learns about the secret war between the Autobots and the Decepticons after getting attacked by a group of Vehicons.

  • Acid Attack: Her Quirk allows her to produce corrosive liquids from her body and she can even manipulate the pH and viscosity of her Acid. Her Acid is strong enough to melt boulders and even harm Vehicons.
  • Action Girl: She tends to get more up-close-and-personal than most of the 1-A girls, as she predominantly has been shown finishing her fights with punches after using her acid to close the distance. She also uses her great agility to jump around battlefields and generally has an energetic, highly mobile fighting style.
  • Adaptational Name Change: She gets to keep her initial hero name Alien Queen instead of Pinky.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Her skin is bright pink as a result of the acid in her body.
  • Because Destiny Says So: After Itsuka, Ibara, Tetsutetsu, and Setsuna find out about the Autobots and the latter three bond with a trio of Mini-Cons, Mina suggests that it was fate that they found out.
  • Book Dumb: Mina's not exactly the smartest student out there. Second to Kaminari, she is not very great at academics compared to her friends.
  • Cassandra Truth: After the events of the meteor shower and seeing how it unfolds, Mina correctly deduced that the meteors are in fact aliens that take the form of vehicles to mask their presence. She was right... but Ochaco and Tenya just laughed at her theory, saying it was something a crackpot would come up with.
  • Cheery Pink: Pink is her signature color and she's quite cheery.
  • Cute Monster Girl: An attractive, humanoid... something.
  • Decomposite Character: Takes over Miko's role as Bulkhead's partner.
  • Domino Mask: She wears a white one as part of her hero costume.
  • Genki Girl: Mina's always excited, friendly, and sociable around everyone and she's always excited about going on a new adventure with the Autobots.
  • Horned Humanoid: She has a pair of small flexible yellow horns.
  • Love Freak: Mina's very interested in the love lives of others as she immediately asks Momo for information on Izuku and Kyoka after noticing the romantic tension between them.
  • Messy Hair: Similar to Izuku, her hair sticks up in different directions.
  • My Suit Is Also Super: Mina's hero costume is acid-proof to avoid having it melted by the acid she fires.
  • Secret-Keeper: She finds out about the Cybertronian war after witnessing Bumblebee and Arcee transform to fight a group of Vehicons.
  • Ship Tease: With Eijiro.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Her eyes have black sclerae combined with yellow irises. Horikoshi notes that they give off a very different impression before they're inked in.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: When Mina, Momo, Bulkhead, Sideswipe, and Sunstreaker find out that their friends back at the base are under attack by Scraplets, she tore Sunstreaker a new one when the latter was more worried about getting his paint job messed up rather than the safety of their friends.

Eijiro Kirishima — Red Riot

Quirk: Hardening

Class 1-A's most friendly and "manly" member, Eijiro is always willing to help his friends and lend a hand. His Quirk, Hardening, allows him to harden his whole body, making it very hard and razor sharp.

  • Boring, but Practical: His Quirk may only harden his body, but given that most Hero fights start up close and personal; it's pretty useful.
  • Broken Pedestal: After finding out how much of a bully Bakugo was to Izuku, Eijiro can only punch the wall in rage for unknowingly supporting a bully. It's only due to Izuku's insistence that Eijiro still hangs around the explosive blonde as he's pretty much the only positive influence Bakugo has right now.
  • Fiery Redhead: The most excitable redhead of his class.
  • Friendly Rivalry: With Tetsutetsu.
  • Hero-Worshipper: He named his Hero name after the Chivalrous Hero: Crimson Riot.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite his training with the Autobots, he still loses to Bakugo at the Sports Festival.
  • Nice Guy: He is a pretty friendly guy and is even willing to befriend Bakugo.
  • Secret-Keeper: Finds out about the Cybertronian war after being attacked by a group of Vehicons.
  • Ship Tease: With Mina.
  • Super-Toughness: His Quirk, Hardening, allows him to harden his body for an increase in offense and defense, enough for him to tear open and knock out Vehicons.

    Denki Kaminari

Dimwitted, not so bright, but energetic; Denki is a goofy but friendly guy who enrolled into U.A. to become a hero. His Quirk, Electrification, allows him to emit a large amount of electricity from his body.

  • Adaptational Badass: Training with his Autobot partner, Sunstreaker, helped him use more of his electricity without short-circuiting his brain. He can now use his Super Move, 2 Million Volts, without frying his brain and reverting to his dumb state.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Denki is a pretty friendly and goofy guy, but if you hurt his friends he will make you regret it. Blastwave found that out the hard way.
  • Book Dumb: Out of all his classmates, Denki is not the smartest student out there and his grades are a lot to be desired.
  • Elemental Hair Colors: He's a blonde dude with an electrifying Quirk.
  • Forgot About His Powers: When Kurogiri teleported him to the shipwreck zone, Denki began to panic as the boat they were on was surrounded by villains. It took Tsuyu and Kaida to remind him that he could just zap them with his Quirk that he calms down.
  • Heroic RRoD: If Denki overuses his Quirk, he runs the risk of short-circuiting his own brain.
  • Innocently Insensitive: While discussing how their actions in the Sports Festival gained them a lot of attention. Denki mentioned how Kaida would be remembered for the Triceratops debacle. He instantly regretted it, especially after receiving a piercing glare from her.
  • In-Series Nickname: Sparky by Mei and Jamming Jay by Kyoka.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Still loses to Ibara at the Sports Festival despite his training with Sunstreaker.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: He notes how Setsuna is Class 1-B's version of Mina.
  • Secret-Keeper: He knows about the secret Cybertronian war after being attacked by a group of Vehicons.
  • Ship Tease: With Ibara Shiozaki.
  • Shock and Awe: Denki's Quirk, Electrification, allows him to generate a lot of electricity from his body, allowing him to shock any nearby targets at a large distance.

    Kaida Kiryu

Kaida Kiryu — Kaidasaurus

Quirk: Sauro-Parts

Kaida Rikyu is a friendly, upbeat girl who wishes to stand for what's right; she enrolls into U.A. High in hopes of becoming a hero. Her Quirk, Sauro-Parts, allows her to take the form of various dinosaurs to fight in battle. She's also Shoto's best friend.

  • All the Other Reindeer: Growing up, Kaida was subjected to Fantastic Racism due to how her Quirk made her look.
  • Animorphism: Her Quirk, Sauro-Parts, allows her to morph her body into various parts of dinosaurs based on the fossils she consumes.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Kaida cannot stand bullies at all, so unsurprisingly, she does not get along with Bakugo from the start. She also hates Abusive Parents, finding them even worse than bullies.
    • Kaida also doesn't like to be called a "freak" due to the harsh bullying she received from kids growing up. Bakugo, unfortunately, pressed this during their semi-final match at the Sports Festival.
  • Bully Hunter: Became this in middle school, scaring away those who picked on other students.
  • Canon Foreigner: She's an original character created by the author to replace Mineta.
  • Childhood Friends: During the Sports Festival it's revealed that she attended the same middle school as Shoto. The two grew close enough that they refer to each other by their first names, and Shoto actually told Kaida about his abusive childhood.
  • Hero-Worshipper: Ryukyu is the hero she idolizes the most, and she has high hopes that she'll be able to do an internship at her agency.
  • Huge Schoolgirl: She’s a UA student and the tallest girl in Class 1-A, towering over even the boys. The only student possibly matching her in height is Shoji, whose height is 187 cm (6’2”).
  • Ironic Name: The name, Kaida, means "Little Dragon" and Kiryu means "misty dragon"; which is odd considering that Kaida's Quirk is based on dinosaurs.
  • Malicious Misnaming: She refers to Bakugo as "Baku-Breath" due to his rude and bullying behavior. Through, considering how much of a massive jerk Bakugo is, it's justified.
  • Nice Girl: She's a nice and friendly girl who is willing to help her friends out. During the Sports Festival, while everyone stayed away from Izuku and Kyoka due to their ten million points, Kaida didn't hesitate to join their team.
  • The Nicknamer: Kaida is fond of giving various nicknames to her friends (Kyo for Kyoka, Yaomomo for Momo, and Chaco for Ochaco). She even started calling Bakugo, "Baku-Breath", though this was out of spite due to him being a bully.
  • Scary Teeth: She has sharp teeth but is a good person at heart.
  • Secret-Keeper: She's one of the few people who know about Shoto's personal life.
  • Shipper on Deck: She's the first to notice that Izuku and Kyoka have romantic feelings for one another and believes they can be a cute couple.
  • Ship Tease: With Shoto.
  • Temper-Ceratops: During her match with Bakugo during the Sports Festival, he ends up pushing her buttons so much that when she fully snaps, she transforms into a Triceratops and chases after Bakugo, and even Midnight and Cementoss.
  • Unstoppable Rage: After Bakugo seriously pushes her buttons, she manages to fully transform for the first time, but goes into a rage and chases after Bakugo despite the fight being over. She ends up even chasing after Midnight and Cementoss when they try to stop her.

    Katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki Bakugo — N/A

Quirk: Explosion

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/katsuki_bakugo_action_3.png
Click here to see him in uniform

A rude, unfriendly, foul-mouthed boy whose prodigious skills are only matched by his enormous ego. He is Izuku's former childhood friend who began bullying him after he received his Quirk while Izuku turned out to be Quirkless. His Quirk, Explosion, allows him to secrete nitroglycerin sweat from his palms to create powerful explosions. He enrolls into U.A. so he can become a hero who surpasses the No.1 Hero, All Might.

  • The Ace: Deconstructed. While Katsuki may be good at studies and sports, and his skill with his Quirk is nothing to scoff at; being praised his whole life has left him with a massive superiority complex and a fragile ego. When he starts attending U.A. and sees he's no longer the strongest student in his class anymore, it was a tough pill to swallow for him. The reality of other people being stronger than him hits Katsuki when Izuku, his former victim, defeats him at the Sports Festival Finals.
  • Actually Pretty Funny: He tries his hardest not to laugh when he hears Shoto ask Izuku if he was All Might's secret love child.
  • Adaptational Karma: Katsuki's bullying past comes to light after his match against Kaida, where Izuku reveals it to the teachers and his friends. After some discussion and upon Izuku's insistence, Nezu and Aizawa decided not to expel Bakugo, but will send him to Hound Dog for therapeutic lessons as well as some lessons from Best Jeanist and Gang Orca.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Izuku calls him "Kacchan" ever since they were kids.
  • Anti-Hero: Bakugo may want to be a hero but his reasons are so that he can become the "very best" and surpass All Might; not to mention his angry personality makes him hardly approachable.
  • Break the Haughty: Katuski's ego takes a major blow after his defeat by his former victim, Izuku, at the Sports Festival Finals.
  • The Bully: Bakugo was this constantly to Izuku once he received his Quirk and Izuku turned out Quirkless. His bullying varies from blowing the shit out of him, and verbally abusing him, to all of the above.
  • The Determinator: For better or worse, Bakugo's determination and drive to become the best is one of his few admirable qualities, which is something Izuku admires about him a lot. He rather fight to the bitter end than ever give up.
  • Face of a Thug: Skywarp notes while he is learning to become a Hero, he has the face and demeanor of a Decepticon.
  • Fatal Flaw:
    • Wrath. Bakugo aspires to be the best hero and surpass All Might. While he does have the skills and a powerful Quirk to back it up his bragging, his Hair-Trigger Temper tendencies and bad attitude make him extremely insufferable to those around him.
    • Pride. To say Bakugo is overconfident to a fault would be an understatement. Being showered with praise and never called out by his teachers, gave him a huge ego that caused Bakugo to see himself as the best and that everyone around him are nothing but extras and stepping stones for him to walk on. It was only after Izuku beat at the Sports Festival that he began to re-evaluate himself.
  • Foil:
    • To Izuku. Both admired All Might and wanted to be heroes since they were kids. However, Bakugo believes that a hero is someone who wins no matter what while Izuku believes a hero is someone who saves those in need. While Bakugo is a Jerkass who won the Super Power Lottery with a powerful Quirk, Izuku is a Nice Guy who was born as an Un-Sorcerer.
    • To Kaida. Both heroes-in-training with powerful Quirks. While Bakugo is a Jerkass, Kaida is a Nice Girl. Both also share a connection with an individual who has a Dark and Troubled Past (Izuku and Shoto, respectively). While Bakugo bullied Izuku since they were kids, Kaida stood by Shoto's side as his best friend and stayed as one of the few positive influences in his life.
  • Genius Bruiser: Katsuki is well aware of how to use the vast applications of his Quirk and is able to gauge the abilities of his opponents. It's only because he keeps letting himself be Blinded by Rage that he constantly lets himself be caught off guard.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Bakugo has a short fuse and it doesn't take much for him to lose his temper.
  • Having a Blast: His Quirk, Explosion, allows him to create explosions from the nitroglycerin-like sweat secreted from the palms of his hands.
  • Hypocrite: He calls out to Izuku to control Brain (Bumblebee's holoform), saying that he was behaving like a wild animal, this coming from a guy who acts out in rage and blows things up in anger multiple things.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Megatron notes upon inspecting Bakugo that the boy reminds him a lot of himself. For his eyes contain anger, arrogance, irritation as well as determination.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: He overhears Shoto revealing his tragic past to Izuku but doesn't tell anyone about it... mostly because he doesn't care about it.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: He's constantly heard swearing at a ton of people, especially Izuku.
  • Smarter Than You Look: Despite his Hair-Trigger Temper tendencies, Bakugo is actually a lot smarter than he lets on. He was able to figure out a way to break Ochaco's strategy and during his fight against Izuku at the Finals he attempted to not give his rival time to strategize.
  • Smug Super: Bakugo developed an enormous ego due to all the praise from his teachers and classmates in his Junior High years to the point where he'll boast about how he's destined to be the next Number One Hero much to everyone's ire. Deconstructed later as nobody showered him with praise at U.A. due to how horrible his personality is.
  • Wild Card: Starscream notes that while Bakugo's skills with his Quirk are impressive, his anger and attitude are bound to make him a loose cannon, and decides it's best to stay clear from him.

    Shoto Todoroki

Shoto Todoroki — Shoto

An aloof, stoic, individual who rarely emotes who got enrolled into U.A. on recommendations and is the son of the No.2 Hero, Endeavor. Shoto's Quirk, Half-Cold Half-Hot, allows him to unleash ice from his right side and fire from his left side.

  • Broken Ace: He's a talented student who got into U.A. on recommendations and has a good handle on his Quirk. However, he's a scarred boy with a tragic upbringing.
  • Commonality Connection: He gets along well with Optimus not only due to how kind the Autobot is, but due to the fact that they both can't stand Endeavor.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: Not only does he suspect that Izuku is All Might's secret love child, but he also starts thinking that Orion Pax (Optimus Prime's human holo form) is his dad. He then begins to think he has two dads.
  • An Ice Person: With his right side, he can generate ice powerful enough to freeze many thugs, stop a Zero-Pointer robot in its tracks, and even create a giant glacier that can engulf half a stadium.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Shoto's so powerful that just with his ice alone he was already considered one of the strongest students among U.A. Hero's course. Even Megatron was left in awe of his power and warned his troops to make sure the boy doesn't meet and ally with the Autobots.
  • Playing with Fire: From his left side, he can unleash fire but refuses to use it due to all the trauma his father put him through. So he purposefully limits himself to using only his right side as a way to spite him. He starts using it after Izuku snaps him out of that mindset during their match.
  • Secret-Keeper: By Chapter 54, he finds out about the Cybertronian war.
  • Ship Tease: With Kaida.
  • The Stoic: He's not really known for showing his feelings very well and has a bit of a cold disposition.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: During their match, after Izuku reminds him that the fire half of his Quirk is not Endeavor's but his own, Shoto eventually starts to open up more to his classmates.
  • Training from Hell: He was groomed by Endeavor since he was five years old to surpass All Might, the training and experience have traumatized and hardened him so much that he refused to use his left side due to his mother calling it unbearable.

  • Character Tics: She tends to put the tip of her index finger on her chin when thinking.
  • Nice Girl: Her tendency to be blunt aside, Tsu is a nice girl who wishes to be on a first-name basis with her friends. She even preferred to congratulate her friends who made it into the Sports Festival finals rather than sulk over her loss.
