Free Agents

    Bianchi

Bianchi

Voiced by: Rie Tanaka (Japanese), Chae-Eon Han (Korean) Michelle Rojas (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bianchi.jpg
Gokudera's older half-sister. She uses "poison cooking" as her main weapon. Also in love with Reborn. Subsequently also a complete badass.
  • Action Girl: If she wanted to, Bianchi could kill pretty much everyone.
  • Amusingly Awful Aim: Bianchi is an accomplished hitman whose poisoning skills earned her the title of "The Poisonous Scorpion". On the other hand, her aim with any kind of firearm is horrendous, to the point it's almost a Running Gag. In chapter 13 Bianchi is trying to gun down Adult Lambo and Reborn remarks that the bullets could end up flying anywhere. This is in sharp contrast to her brother, who fights by throwing explosives at people with a surprising level of skill, accuracy and strategy.
  • Animal Motifs: Associated with scorpions, with her Red Baron and Box Weapons.
  • Berserk Button: Poor TYL!Lambo. Every time she sees his face, she goes on a berserk rage and tries to kill him for looking like her ex-boyfriend Romeo.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: She's quite out there and is usually making trouble for Tsuna and friends thanks to her poison cooking. But there is a reason why she is still feared in the mafia world as she is capable of poisoning almost anyone without them ever knowing about it.
  • Big Brother Mentor: To Gokudera in the Future Arc, combined with Big Sister Bully. Reborn even remarks that they don't really get along while training him, but Bianchi insists on seeing his training through to the end.
  • Demoted to Satellite Love Interest: She started off as a pretty capable hitman who could turn everything into poison. But she was also the titular Hitman Tutor's lover, and by the Future Arc she is reduced to an older sister figure for the girls.
  • Designated Girl Fight: With M.M. during the Kokuyo Arc. Somewhat justified considering that Bianchi’s poison cooking was the only thing that could go up against M.M. at the time.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: She is certainly both to her brother, depending on the situation. More noticeable in the Future Arc, where she is the responsible one to Gokudera's foolish and ditzy antics.
  • Goggles Do Nothing: Subverted. She wears them to prevent Gokudera fainting in her presence.
  • Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy: In chapter 13 Bianchi is trying to gun down Adult Lambo and Reborn remarks that the bullets could end up flying anywhere.
  • Lethal Chef: Every food that she makes automatically turns into poison cooking. Tsuna has to find ways to remove her from the kitchen all the time.
  • Love Freak: She spouts off about love all time and always gives unnecessary love advice to Tsuna regarding Kyoko. And almost all her actions at the start of the story are for the sake of Reborn.
  • Mad Love: Accent on 'mad' from Reborn. Amusingly enough, this is a trait that she shares with her brother, who is certainly and extremely devoted to his boss.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: With Reborn, who is an infant, while she is probably in her mid 20s. It works both ways as it's revealed that Reborn is an adult trapped in an infant body for many years
  • Only One Name: Her last name is never revealed. This is weird since she and Hayato are siblings through her father's side, which means that they should have the same last name. It's unknown if she shares the same last name or if Hayato changed his.
  • Poisonous Person: To the point where anything she touches can turn into poison cooking, just ask M.M.
  • Put on a Bus: Completely disappears after the future arc, and returns with a few cameos in the Arcobaleno Arc.
  • Red Baron: "Poison Scorpion" Bianchi.
  • Rejection Affection: Reborn certainly doesn't return her feelings, yet she never notices it and fawns over him all the time.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • To both Tsuna and Kyoko. She sets the two up from time to time for her own amusement and to help Tsuna try to get closer to her. Especially in the Future arc, where she lied that Kyoko ran away again in order to make Tsuna chase her and tell her the truth himself.
    • To Haru/Tsuna as well, in the last chapter we have her trying to get Tsuna to acknowledge Haru’s feelings for him and start taking her more seriously. Or, considering Bianchi’s nature she could just be pairing anyone for the sake of romance...
  • Sink or Swim Mentor: To her brother in the Future Arc. Justified since he is going to be participating in a mission that has a 99% chance of failing.
  • Unknown Rival: Regards Yamamoto as her rival in cooking, but he doesn't really know how to cook save for sushi.
  • Yandere: She's willing to eliminate every person who has a 'bad influence' on Reborn. Not to mention how her ex-boyfriend apparently died of food poisoning after a bitter fall out between them.

     I-Pin

I-Pin

Voiced by: Li Mei Chan (Japanese), Hyun-Ji Kim (Korean) Julia Gu (english)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anime_i_pin.jpg
She is an assassin from Hong Kong, and speaks in nothing but Chinese. Even though this 5-year-old little girl can't speak Japanese, the 15-year-old "Adult I-Pin" eventually enters a Japanese college, and despite the fact that she is one of the most promising young assassins, she works part-time at a Chinese restaurant ten years later. She has a crush on Kyoya Hibari, who looks like her teacher. During times of extreme stress, she will latch onto the nearest person, and a clock will appear on her head, when it reaches zero, there is an explosion like a bomb.
  • Action Girl: She can kick ass as her five-year-old self, and her future self is no slouch even if she did give up her fighting ways.
  • Anime Chinese Girl: She's a caricature of a young Chinese girl, complete with a foreign accent. Her future self looks normal, and she loses her Eyes Always Shut features.
  • Badass Adorable: A given since she is a child assassin and her future self is petite but can kick asses all the way to Sunday.
  • Big Brother Worship: To Tsuna, where she certainly thinks of him as her older brother even in the future.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Has such horrible vision that she mistakes a dojo sign for a chopping board and mistakes Lambo early on as a broccoli monster. Unfortunately, she can't wear glasses because she doesn't have ears to put them on.
  • Blush Sticker: She has this in her child form.
  • Braids of Action: She sports a braid on top of her head while the rest of her head is bald, which makes the braid more noticeable.
  • Courier: Her future self is usually seen delivering ramen to Uncle Kawahira under any circumstance.
  • Curtains Match the Window: In her adult form, she has dark-colored eyes to match with her dark hair.
  • Cute Bruiser: She's cute and can effortlessly lift up adults thrice her size with her Gyoza Kenpo techniques.
  • Demoted to Extra: She is said to be the third most promising young assassin, yet her abilities are often downplayed and rarely effective in serious situations. Her future self even gave up on being an assassin in exchange for a normal livelihood.
  • Dude Magnet: Her future self. To the point that in the manga, Ryohei was smitten with her though this is mostly a case of being an Amazon Chaser.
  • Enfante Terrible: In her first appearance, where she is trying to kill Tsuna due to a misunderstanding.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Her Present self has this to point out her Chinese ethnicity. She has wider eyes when She's All Grown Up.
  • Improbable Age: Like Lambo, she's a five-year-old hitman who's trained by one of the best martial artists.
  • Little Miss Badass: In her TYL form, where she can even kick ass while studying algebra.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name is the Japanese term for the 1-Coins mahjong tile ("I" being mahjong parlance for 1 and "pin" being short for pinzu, mahjong parlance for the Coins suit). This ties into her "Pinzu-Timed Super Explosion" ability — the countdown on her forehead goes through all nine of the pinzu tiles.
  • Nice Girl: She’s extremely polite to her elders and is often rebuking Lambo for his lack of manners.
  • Nonstandard Character Design: Her present self. Lampshaded in the manga: When asked why she doesn't wear glasses, she notes it's because she lacks ears.
  • Precocious Crush: Has a huge crush on Hibari, where she gets embarrassed enough to activate her Pinzu bomb. Although it's explained that she likes him due to looking like her master Fon.
  • Samus Is a Girl: In her first appearance when she was hit by the ten-year-bazooka and was revealed as a cute Chinese girl.
  • Shrinking Violet: The reason why she's a literal Tyke Bomb. She grows out of it though, thanks to her joining the Family.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Her gyoza-dumplings, which also double as a weapon of sorts.
  • Tyke Bomb: Literally, thanks to her ability to turn into a bomb when embarrassed. She is called the human bomb for a reason.
  • You No Take Candle: In the anime, she speaks broken Japanese, but still understandable unlike in the manga where her words are actually written as scribbles.

    Dr. Shamal

Dr. Shamal

Voiced by: Toshinobu Katsuya (Japanese), Sang-Beom Lee (Korean)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shamal_reborn.jpg
A womanizer who hits on every beautiful woman he sees. Though he is often unsuccessful, he is always seen hitting on one woman and then instantly moves on to hit on the next woman that passes by him. Surprisingly, putting aside his normal lecherous attitude, Shamal happens to be a notorious assassin called "Trident Shamal", and is also a renowned doctor, but he refuses to treat men. He uses trident mosquitoes to infect his targets with deadly illnesses. Since he contracts viruses and diseases easily, he carries 666 pills that contain mosquitoes infected with deadly diseases. He claims to be infected with all 666 diseases but is not dead because all of the diseases negate each other. He was also once asked to join the Varia but refused.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Bianchi and most women that he hits on certainly think so. It's not that his looks are abhorrent, but it's his personality that turns them off. Turned around when he saw Longchamp's girlfriends in the bowling chapter, where he thinks of them as monsters instead.
  • Accidental Kiss: He shares a kiss with Tsuna, much to his dismay as he's a real jerk to all men.
  • Artistic License – Biology: The logical basis for his treatment of illnesses is, to say the least, illogical. Not only do polar opposite illnesses not exist (especially considering secondary symptoms), but suffering from two or more conditions only complicates the job of natural defenses and ultimately allows for either pathogen to succeed in affecting the patient.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Guess what? He's a top-ranked assassin that even the Varia scouted to join their rank, but he declined.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: He may be a perverted doctor, but he is skilled enough that he was invited to be part of the Varia before the story.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Saves Haru from Birds' twins after they are taken hostage by the latter in the Kokuyo Arc.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Sure, he looks like a perverted womanizing doctor that only treats women. However, once he gets serious, he can inflict diseases without his enemies noticing.
  • The Casanova: Certainly acts like one, unfortunately for him, no woman is ever interested in him.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Quite the pervert, but has saved the girls in secret many times without any thanks given to him. He even teaches Gokudera using really perverted terms to get his point across.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Trying to hurt girls while he's around is a bad idea. Birds' henchman found this out the hard way.
  • Cynical Mentor: To Gokudera, ever since he abandoned him after his student became careless with bombs.
  • Deadly Doctor: He kills people by infecting them with terminal illnesses from his special mosquitoes.
  • Dr. Jerk: To men, who are unfortunately the majority of his patients in the story. But he will treat them if the situation is serious or if he pities them enough to make him heal them.
  • Handsome Lech: Handsome and lecherous to every single woman in the story, even ones half his age.
  • Have I Mentioned That I Am Heterosexual Today: He only cures women. He thinks that with men, spitting in their faces and leaving them alone is enough.
  • I Need to Go Iron My Dog: In the Bowling Chapter.
Shamal: Sorry, my ESP just told me that I have an emergency patient coming in.
    Tsuna: Stop Lying!"
  • Made of Iron: Can take hits to the face from Hibari with no ill effects, and shrug off Bianchi's Poison Cooking.
  • Morally Ambiguous Doctorate: He uses terminal diseases to kill his targets without them knowing about it.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Also known as "Trident" Shamal, the genius hitman and super first class dark doctor.
  • Number of the Beast: His 666 Trident Mosquitoes.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Always maintains his lecherous personality, but he has been shown to be observant, as he was able to see through Belphegor and Mammon's disguises in a filler arc.
  • Perma-Stubble: Sports a five-o-clock shadow along with his unkempt appearance.
  • Put on a Bus: He was a fairly consistent character, especially in the Ring Battles. However, he hasn't been heard from since.
  • Red Baron: "Trident" Shamal.

    Fuuta

Fuuta de la Stella

Voiced by: Yuko Sanpei (Japanese), Hyun-Seo Ahn (Korean, Present), Ho-Cheol Kang (Korean, Future) Ciarán Strange (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fuuta_reborn.jpg
A young boy who ranks people by their abilities in a book half his own height. He has an extremely wide range of knowledge on thousands of people and is considered to be a valuable informant for the Mafia, sometimes being paid insane amounts of money for a copy of certain rankings, but due to this, he is often chased by the Mafia. When he ranks people, gravity around him becomes distorted, making objects around him float, and images of stars and galaxies appear in his eyes. It is unknown how he actually gathers his information, but his rankings do become skewed when it rains. He also has to be looking at the person to determine their rankings. He calls Tsuna his big brother and starts living in his house. In the future, after gathering information with Bianchi, Fuuta, who now carries a suitcase rather than a book, returns to Japan with crucial information about the Millefiore Family. Fuuta also reveals that he was Lambo's guardian until three years before Tsuna's arrival in the future, and prefers that Lambo not be endangered.
  • Adorably Precocious Child: Quite mature for his age, which makes sense since he is usually on the run prior to meeting Tsuna.
  • Distressed Dude: He gets kidnapped quite frequently thanks to his prediction abilities, causing him to seek out Tsuna for protection. He ranks Tsuna as one of the highest people who will take care of him.
  • Knowledge Broker: Becomes one for the Vongola family in the Future Arc to help scout for their enemies.
  • Nice Guy: His future self is just as polite and considerate as his current self.
  • Parental Abandonment: His parents are never seen or mentioned, which is why he's always on the run from other mafia families.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: Uses them against Tsuna when he asks the latter to let him stay in his house.
  • The Quiet One: He is this in the earlier chapters, but was able to become more social thanks to his interactions with Tsuna and company.
  • Token Mini-Moe: He's the youngest recurring character after Lambo and I-Pin.

    Kawahira

Kawahira

Voiced by: Masaya Matsukaze (Japanese), Jeong-Hwan So (Korean)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/KHR_Uncle_5017.jpg
Kawahira is a character who is mentioned to be a frequent customer of the ramen shop where Future I-Pin works. Due to the Ten-Year Bazooka, Kawahira always gets his ramen with soggy noodles. An ally during the Future arc, but also an antagonist during the Curse of the Rainbow arc as Checker Face.
  • Anti-Villain: Is quite affable with the main cast, and he is quite a good guy as well. The only thing that makes him a villain is his willingness to do everything in order to maintain the Trinisette.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: That unassuming boyramen lover over there? He's not the strongest individual walking the world.
  • The Chessmaster: Has manipulated many people to bear the curse of the Arcobaleno in order to maintain the Trinisette. He even sets up a tournament promising the winner to be freed of the curse in order to find the new holders, and is not fazed when the Vindice joined the battle halfway.
  • The Dog Was the Mastermind: Prior to appearing as Checkerface, he was in two or three chapters, all of which took place in the future.
  • Half-Truth: He assured that the Arcobaleno who won the tournament would have their curse removed, but having the curse removed will kill them instead.
  • Older Than He Looks: Has been married thrice and has a daughter around Adult I-Pin's age (since I-Pin borrowed a yukata from her). This means he should be over 30 years old. Since if he has a 15-year-old daughter at age 30, he would have been 15 when she was born. This... doesn't seem very plausible.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Which explains his implausibly youthful appearance.
  • The Reveal: He is Checker Face, and that he's one of the first aliens to inhabit the earth.
  • Red Baron: The Man with the Iron Hat
  • Running Gag: His ramen addiction and I-pin always running late to deliver his noodles thanks to time travel shenanigans.
  • Scary Shiny Glasses: When he is confronting Zakuro, his glasses turn into this.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Ramen and he's always ordering it as Future I-pin has to deliver the ramen for him every time she appears.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Has to be this in order to keep the world safe, even though he hates it so much.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: Subverted, as he is a genuinely good guy forced to take really heartless actions in order to maintain the world's balance.

Namimori Residents

    Nana Sawada

Nana Sawada

Voiced by: Rica Fukami (Japanese), Yeong-Ae Shin (Korean)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ae2d149c_3e74_41b4_9bca_a4899edc2398.jpeg
She is Tsuna's mother, who, despite caring deeply for him, has little belief in her son succeeding in life: She does not expect him to get into a good college, tends to have outbursts claiming that her son is a loser, is eternally grateful for Haru wanting to be his girlfriend despite how pathetic he is in her eyes, etc. She helps feed all of the people that are presently living in her house and does not see anything strange with any of them. In the future, she was revealed to be on vacation with her husband in Italy when the Millefiore Family attacked the Vongola Headquarters; her current condition is unknown.
  • Absurdly Youthful Mother: Although her exact age has never been classified, she has plenty of energy for a mother with a teenage son and she doesn’t look a day over twenty.
  • Abusive Parents: Although she does love Tsuna, she definitely doesn't really care enough about his future or his self-esteem to count as a good parent (including not doing anything about his truancy or poor grades, and constantly belittling him in front of his friends and the girl he likes as "No Good Tsuna"). She gets better though.
  • Adults Are Useless: Somewhat justified since she’s only a civilian but it’s shown that even before the mafia came into the picture she lacked a lot of common sense.
  • Brainless Beauty: She doesn’t question the baby hitman, her husband’s absence in the household, or all of the obvious signs that resulted after Reborn’s sudden appearance.
  • Characterization Marches On: In the Daily Life Arc in the manga, she was shown to be on bad terms with her son at times; she was shown scolding him for not caring about his future and openly calling him a loser in front of his friends. In the later parts of the series, this part is completely gone and Nana is shown to be a very generous and compassionate woman that hardly lashes out at anyone.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Has brown hair and eyes, which Tsuna inherited.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl:: Tiny girl to Iemitsu. She's 155 cm (5'1') tall, while he is 189 cm (6'2').
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Enforced by her husband, where he says that he works for an oil company to keep her and Tsuna safe.
  • Long Hair Is Feminine: She used to have long hair that reached up to her waist, though her short hair doesn’t make her any less feminine.
  • Manchild: In the manga, she acts very hyper and childish and looks more like Tsuna's sister. However, in the anime she is more clueless rather than childish.
  • Older Than She Looks: It’s been pointed out by several characters that by looks alone, she can pass as Tsuna’s older sister rather than a parent.
  • Parental Obliviousness: She seems to be unaware of the fact that both her husband and her son are part of the Mafia.
  • Parenting the Husband: She smothers and spoils Iemitsu quite a bit. She still does all of the housework whenever he’s home and allows him to lie around all day with little complaint. She even chastises Tsuna whenever he acts cold to his father.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: Fuuta ranks them as the sweetest couple out of thousands on his list.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Tsuna takes after her a lot more in appearance than his father.
  • Supreme Chef: Many characters remark that her cooking is some of the best in the world, with others even inviting themselves in order to taste her cooking.
  • Trauma-Induced Amnesia: She doesn’t recall being attacked in the Representative Arc, and when she was discharged from the hospital she believed that she passed out from something falling on her head.
  • Useless Bystander Parent: Downplayed, as she is completely unaware about the mafia and everything her son has been put through. However, she’s completely aware of how useless and unpopular her son is, which she acknowledges with a straight face and rarely does she see a problem in how often Reborn disrespects and beats him.

    Kyoko

Kyoko Sasagawa

Voiced by: Yuna Inamura (Japanese), Ji-Yeong Lee (Korean) Dani Chambers (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kyoko.jpg
A nice girl who likes cooking and knitting. Her brother Ryohei is the complete opposite of her quiet demeanor, but they still get along (not that you see them together often or anything). Tsuna's crush on her stemmed from the fact that she was the only girl to talk to him in over a year, but now she's caught up in all this mess along with Haru.
  • Dude Magnet: Many of her male peers find her attractive, with Tsuna and Mochida adding on to that list.
  • Fan of Underdog: She looks up to Tsuna really highly, and is often cheering for him in school-related activities.
  • Feminine Women Can Cook: She’s the girliest female character in the cast and Reborn praises that her skill is on par with Nana’s.
  • Flanderization: In the manga, she was willing to physically fight Mochida for calling her a prize and had more of a personality in the beginning as well. Not soon after she is reduced to being a plot device who can’t think past eating sweets and worrying about her brother.
  • Informed Attractiveness: She doesn’t stand out from the other female characters at all appearance-wise.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Has no idea of Tsuna and co.’s involvement with the mafia. She does end up knowing about it but she is still kept in the dark about everything mafia-related.
  • Master of the Mixed Message: Sometimes she can be quite shy around Tsuna, most of the time she just treats him like a friend.
  • Nice Girl: She’s polite to an almost impossible degree.
  • No Romantic Resolution: Her feelings on Tsuna are still unknown.
  • Oblivious to Love: Is completely unaware of Tsuna’s crush on her. Doubles as a Running Gag.
  • Satellite Love Interest: To Tsuna.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: With Ryohei. Kyoko's your typical Nice Girl while Ryohei is loud and Hot-Blooded.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: Happens to Haru and Kyoko during the Future Arc. All they do is cook, clean and take care of the younger ones. Granted they have no actual fighting ability anyway, and someone has to look after the boys while they're training.
  • Sweet Tooth: She and Haru bond over their shared love for cake.
  • Those Two Girls: She is usually seen with Haru.
  • Trauma-Induced Amnesia: She can't recall the time when Tsuna saved her from Tazaru, and tries to hide it so no one will be worried. Only Bianchi and Haru know this, with the former counseling her.

    Haru

Haru Miura

Voiced by: Hitomi Yoshida (Japanese), Yong-Shin Lee (Korean) Madeleine Morris (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/harumiura.jpg
She is the one girl who actually likes Tsuna in a romantic sense and attends Midori Middle School, one of the toughest elite schools to get into in the area. She initially adored Reborn, but after she was saved by Tsuna, she diverted her adoration towards him instead. She loves children and is usually the one to babysit Lambo and I-Pin.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Tsuna at least seems to view her this way, with how often she proclaims herself to be his future wife, and gets into his personal space on more than one occasion.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: She has black hair in the manga that was changed to dark brown in the anime.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: Has a crush on Tsuna, who has his eyes on Kyoko.
  • Brainy Brunette: Heavily downplayed, but it’s worth mentioning that she goes to an elite all girls school that is hard to get in.
  • Characterization Marches On: In the beginning she was a more assertive character who had dreams and morals of her own, but as soon as the Genre Shift occurred she became almost unidentifiable from Kyoko’s character.
  • Cosplay Otaku Girl: She loves cosplaying weird things like the Namahage, famous landmarks like Tokyo Tower, an old lady, boat, and veggies costumes in the manga. Even Mukuro is creeped out by her hobby on his interview with her.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Which is why she tries to take the langelic Reborn from Tsuna's hands.
  • Damsel in Distress: Mostly played for laughs in her case. Though she does end up needing to be saved by Tsuna quite a bit.
  • Demoted to Extra: She played a more prominent role in the Daily Life arc and often partook in most of the shenanigans as well, but as the genre shifted to become more serious, she began to play a more supporting role for the main characters alongside Kyoko.
  • Dude Magnet: A mild case, but a lot of guys do find her attractive to the point it’s distracting.
  • Fan of Underdog: Or rather kept failing to realize that Tsuna's not a badass.
  • Friend to All Children: She absolutely adores kids and was disappointed with Tsuna when he thought that he was abusing Lambo.
  • Genius Ditz: Implied to be this. She goes to a private school that's supposedly difficult to get into.
  • Gratuitous English: Usually mixes English words into her vocabulary. "Dangerous desu."
  • Harmless Villain: When she found out about Tsuna’s position as the heir to the mafia through Reborn, who claims to be a child assassin, she felt the need to protect Reborn’s “innocence” by having a showdown with Tsuna.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Unlike Kyoko, Haru is aware that Tsuna is an heir to the mafia since the beginning of her acquaintance with him, though she never truly understood the full implications of it, and is pretty much still kept in the dark when it comes to a lot of mafia-related matters.
  • Loving a Shadow: She has a very rose-colored view on Tsuna as a partner, but this is subverted as she genuinely likes him for his kind personality.
  • Nice Girl: Despite all of her faults and general clingy personality to Tsuna, her heart is in the right place and she tries her best to look after I-pin and Lambo.
  • No Listening Skills: Whenever she thinks the worst of Tsuna, she refuses to listen to his explanations.
  • No Romantic Resolution: Her crush on Tsuna is still unrequited as of the last chapter.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: She tries to glomp and hold Tsuna all the time and is very clingy to him, much to his and Gokudera's irritation.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: The main reason why she likes Tsuna so much is because of his kind personality.
  • Stalker with a Crush: First stalks Reborn for his cuteness, then it transferred to Tsuna after he saved her life.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: Happens to Haru and Kyoko during the Future Arc. All they do is cook, clean and take care of the younger ones. Granted they have no actual fighting ability anyway, and someone has to look after the boys while they're training.

    Hana Kurokawa

Hana Kurokawa

Kyoko's best friend who hates children to the point she gets hives when she gets near them. Ironically enough, she gets married to Ryohei later.
  • Beta Couple: With Ryohei. We don’t know much about how they came to be a couple, or even what kind of dynamic they share given they don’t interact at all, yet they’re somehow engaged.
  • Child Hater: She states many times she hates kids. particularly Lambo. She mostly gets over it in the future.
  • Does Not Like Men: To an extent. She often voices out loud how unappealing she finds most guys to be (to be specific, guys near her age), however there seems to be an exception for mature cool guys in general. She likes adult Lambo, but she only likes her false perception of him.
  • Likes Older Men: She says that she prefers mature men rather than her classmates as she refers to Gokudera and Yamamoto as monkeys. Ironically enough, she gets married to Ryohei in the future.
  • Loving a Shadow: She is in love with future Lambo, but is actually more in love with her mature idealization of him.
  • Muggle Best Friend: She is oblivious to Kyoko's apparent involvement with the Mafia and her trips to the future.
  • Official Couple: Her future self apparently got together with Ryohei.
  • Satellite Character: She only appears when there's a matter involving Kyoko.
  • Shipper on Deck: A subverted example. She notices the "chemistry" between Tsuna and Kyoko and fails to understand what Kyoko sees in him, she also doesn’t actively support or meddle with them otherwise.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Her only role disappears completely in favor for Haru and Chrome being Kyoko’s female companions instead, though she does share a meaningful moment with Kyoko in the future arc once, she doesn’t make another appearance again.

    Mochida

Kensuke Mochida

Voiced by: Toshinobu Iida (Japanese), Myeong-Jun Jeong (Korean)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/KHR_Mochida_6410.jpg
Kyoko's "ex" love interest and the very first antagonist, if you can call him that.
  • Cool and Unusual Punishment: Tsuna pulling out most of his hair certainly counts as one.
  • Delinquent: A classic example, whereas the other delinquents are part of the Absurdly Powerful Student Council.
  • Harmless Villain: In comparison to all the other villains in this series he acts rather petty and cowardly.
  • Informed Attractiveness: Is supposedly considered to be the “good-looking” kendo captain of Namimori Middle, but his personality is so bad that no one out-of-universe really sees it.
  • Jerkass: Quite so, as he tries to bully Tsuna for trying to confess to Kyoko, and challenges him to a Kendo fight that he knows Tsuna can't win.
  • Smug Snake: Is confident that he can beat Tsuna and take Kyoko as his girlfriend, which is true but unfortunately for him, Tsuna has Reborn on his side.
  • Put on a Bus: He's never shown again after the Daily Life arc, and was only mentioned twice.

Yamamoto Takeshi's father and a practitioner of Shigure Soen Ryu. He owns a sushi shop called "Takesushi" and is quite a skillful sushi chef.
  • Cool Teacher: To his son Yamamoto, when he decided to teach him Shigure Soen Ryu once.
  • Good Parents: Is pretty much a nice dad to Takeshi and supports him in all his decisions no matter what they are, which is a reason why his death hit his son hard in the future.
  • Killed Offscreen: In the future, he's killed by the Millefiore. This causes some anguish for Yamamoto, and Tsuna can't help but worry about his friend.
  • Like Father, Like Son: Takeshi certainly took a lot of his looks and personality from him.
  • Master Swordsman: Implied to be one in his youth as a practitioner to Shigure Soen Ryu, and still keeps his skills as shown when training Takeshi.
  • Parental Obliviousness: Downplayed but he does know that Takeshi is up to something, he just doesn't ask for his reasons for taking up the sword.
  • Supreme Chef: He can make really delicious sushi that even Belphegor and Mammon praise.

Hibari's enforcer and part of the Namimori Disciplinary Committee. He is shown to be Hibari's number two in the future arc and is the liaison whenever someone wants to talk to Hibari in meetings.
  • Ascended Extra: In the Daily Life Arc, he is only shown following Hibari and guarding the school. In the Future Arc, he serves as Hibari's Number Two and is his representative in meetings.
  • Badass Normal: Doesn't use flames in order to fight, but still holds himself in a decent fight with the Mooks even while carrying injured people.
  • Delinquent: He looks like one, but acts more like a security guard than a delinquent.
  • Dressing as the Enemy: He and Chrome disguise themselves as White Spell soldiers to infiltrate the Melone Base.
  • Friend to All Children: In the Future Arc, at least, where he offers to play with Lambo and I-pin in order not to disturb Hibari.
  • Knowledge Broker: For the Vongola Family in the future. He is the one who told everyone about Hibari's discoveries with the box weapons.
  • Mr. Exposition: In the future arc, acting as a mouthpiece for Hibari and the other time travelers.
  • Nice Guy: Despite being a delinquent and an avid subordinate of Hibari’s, he is surprisingly a decent guy, in this series’ standards at least.
  • Non-Action Guy: For someone his size, he doesn't participate in fights, and even in the past he keeps getting his ass kicked by minor villains.
  • Number Two: To Hibari, where he is the only person that Hibari is willing to be with all the time. Both are shown to be close together in the future as well.
  • Older Than They Look: He looks like an adult while still in middle school.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Hibari, who he followed even ten years in the future and became his right-hand man of some sort.
