The main members of the Simon Family from left to right, Kouyou, Rauji, Enma, Shitt. P (top), Julie (bottom), Kaoru (top), and Adelheid (bottom).

A considerably smaller and weaker mafia family that has been affiliated with the Vongola Family for many years, like the Vongola, this group is lead by a reluctant teenager that wants absolutely nothing to do with the mafia and forced into the role. The lead boss, Enma Kozato, and his family become new students as Namimori Junior High after an earthquake.

The leader of the Simon Family.
The Simon counterpart to Tsuna. Like Tsuna, he considers himself a reluctant, "no-good" boss who does not want to be involved in the Mafia. However, they both are inevitably involved because they want to protect their Family. He has very poor social skills, is weak minded, and even reminds Tsuna of who he used to be (and in many aspects, still is). It is shown later that that he holds a grudge against Tsuna for the apparent betrayal of Simon Cozarto by Vongola Primo and the death of his sister and parents by Sawada Iemitsu. It was really Daemon Spade who caused this though.
  • Birds of a Feather: After their conflict is resolved, Tsuna and Enma are on very good terms and become friends with each other. Likewise, he found a fellow kinship with Skull while teaming up on the representative battle.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The battle that occurred at the Vongola Inheritance Ceremony between him and the Vongola Guardians.
  • Extreme Doormat: Even more so than Tsuna. Tsuna is even reminded of his old self when he first saw Enma.
  • Gravity Master: As he has Earth Flames, he has the power to manipulate gravity. After his awakening, his powers now includes the ability to make Miniature Stars and subsequently Black Holes with an admittedly limited range of influence.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Shown when he goes to feed a couple of stray cats.
  • Marshmallow Hell: On the receiving end of this when Adelheid hugged him after the first day of the representative war. Skull is certainly jealous of him.
  • One-Winged Angel: And it sure as hell ain't pretty. Think of two massive exoskeletal lungs extending like grotesque wings out from the back of a severely stressed body with its extremities—the most notable of which are gnarly clawed hands—covered in reptile-like armor. Oh, and Enma's Simon Ring now has a mass of tendrils/wires protruding from it and sticking into parts of his body, pumping god-knows-what into his system. And you thought Byakuran's "Blood-Winged Angel" form was squicky.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: Full activation of the Earth Simon Ring results in Enma's hair going white. This coupled with his already red eyes, he looks sort of like a zombie version of an albino.
  • Revenge by Proxy: Enma only wants to kill Tsuna because he is the descendant of Vongola Primo (who supposedly betrayed Simon) and Sawada Iemetsu (who supposedly ordered the death of Enma's parents and sister.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Against Tsuna when he was brainwashed to think the Vongola were the reason his family was massacred.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: Tsuna's father (supposedly) ordered the deaths of Enma's parents and sister.

Guardians

    Adelheid Suzuki

Adelheid Suzuki

The Simon counterpart to Hibari Kyoya. Like Hibari, Adelheid is the most powerful guardian. She is also similar in that they are both serious, strict with committee rules, always willing to use force in order to get what they want, very intimidating, and extremely proud of their abilities. However, that's as far as the similarities go. Unlike Hibari, Adelheid is very loyal, compassionate, and supportive of those in the Simon Family and even serves as more of a leader than Enma.
  • Action Girl: The best one in the series, as she was able to go toe-to-toe with Hibari
  • Ice Queen: Literally and Figuratively. She's a cold woman except to her family and has ice-based powers. It's even her nickname among the Simon.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Sometimes she has her shirt unzipped to her navel.
  • Number Two: Second in command after Enma, and it shows as everyone else will listen to her orders, even Enma himself.
  • Marshmallow Hell: Certainly gives a lot of this to her comrades, which she doesn't always notice. Enma is always getting this from her.
  • Me's a Crowd: Her ice powers include making copies of herself to fight for her.
  • Minion Shipping: In later chapters, it's revealed she and Julie had a thing for each other as hinted in several previous chapters.
  • Ms. Fanservice: The best example in the series! while Chrome is the cute female action girl, Adelheid is tall, dark, and sexy with lots of panty shots, which usually never happen in the story, whenever she appears.
  • Smug Super: Before dueling Hibari, she insists that she doesn't even need to "cross weapons" with him in order to beat him and then flat out declares herself already victorious. Then, after revealing her "Ice Castle" defense ability and ice clones, she asserts that Hibari never had a chance to begin with.
  • Team Mom: Shown in a flashback in Chapter 321 to hang out with Shitt P., practice baseball with Kaoru, spar with Koyo, buy food for Rauji, help Enma with his clothes/injuries, and punish Julie when he acts up.
  • Unknown Rival: Adelheid acknowledges Hibari's strength, but on the other hand, he had never actually acknowledged hers. He said that he "had seen the size of the fang of her beast and she could never bite him to death."

    Shitt P.

Shitt P.

The Simon counterpart to Hayato Gokudera. She's considered one of the weirdest characters in a story where it's normal for someone to run around his boxers. Gokudera certainly thinks that she's an alien and make numerous attempts to "communicate" with her. Like Gokudera, she's a believer of UMAs and both have a lot in common. Unlike Gokudera, she admits that she loves herself the most and only fights for her reason, whereas Gokudera will do anything for Tsuna, even putting his life above his.
  • Affectionate Nickname: The other Shimon members call her "Shittopi-chan" and she will ignore anyone unless they call her this, even ignoring Reborn's attempts to make her move.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: In her fight against Gokudera, she mentions that she was picked on by others for eccentricities, which made her cold towards insults and very proud of herself, claiming that she loved herself first. This entire conversation can be seen as Motive Rant.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Her swamp powers can ferment anything inorganic, thankfully. But after their Heel–Face Turn, she can be considered as this.
  • Birds of a Feather: With Gokudera, as they think of each other as an alien creature, with Gokudera stalking her to see if he can communicate with her. Turned on its head after their fight, as he is the one running away from her while she chases him down.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: The weirdest character encountered so far. Gokudera even thinks she's an alien underground creature.
  • Expy: One look at her and you will think that she's the younger sibling of Lady Gaga.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: She considers Gokudera a Warm UMA after he defeats her, and she certainly took a lot of interest in him after that. certainly doesn't appreciate it
  • Freaky Is Cool: Like Gokudera, she's a big fan of UMAs and her choice of clothing is certainly something...
  • Irony: She begins to think of Gokudera as a "Warm U.M.A".
  • Insistent Terminology: She insists on being called "Shitopi-chan" and will flat out ignore you unless you call her that.
  • It's All About Me: Sort of. While she says she has a lot of people that she loves, she says she loves herself the most and only fights for herself.
  • Spider Limbs: Her Ring Weapon, which shoots her Swamp Flame, which can "ferment" things.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Tries to give one about Tsuna and how much he sucks as a person to Gokudera as a way to shatter his hero-worship for him. It doesn't really work on him as Gokudera reveals that he knows about Tsuna's low points himself, much to Tsuna's shock.
  • Villainous Crush: During their fight, Shitt P. invades Gokudera's personal space, wraps her arms and legs around him and calls him cute, and says that she loves him.

    Kaoru Mizuno

Kaoru Mizuno

The Simon counterpart to Takeshi Yamamoto. Morose and an Extreme Doormat, you wouldn't think that he's a middle schooler until you see him hanging out with kids. He certainly has a good rapport with Takeshi, the latter even helping him overcome his fear of crowds. But underneath it all, he's actually quite a good fighter as he was able to take down Takeshi in an instant.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Pulls one in Chapter 325 by showing up and stabbing Daemon Spade in the back.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Looks like your average thug, he's actually quite a friendly person. And underneath that softness is someone that can instantly incapacitate you in flash.
  • Easily Forgiven: Kaoru openly points out how he nearly killed Yamamoto after the latter saves him from Daemon Spade's attack. Yamamoto being Yamamoto, he just laughs it off saying they're friends, so of course he'd come help him.
  • Face of a Thug: Looks like an adult so much that Yamamoto's teammates are surprised that he is still in middle school.
  • False Friend: Kaoru's the main reason Yamamoto is still in the operation room at the hospital. Though it's made clear that he feels pretty bad about it, to the point where he forfeits when his fight comes up.
  • In the Back: How he was able to take out Yamamoto. He gave him a Gut Punch while the latter was examining a piece of paper that fell from his pocket.
  • Senseless Sacrifice: Lampshaded by himself when he takes a stab for Yamamoto from Daemon, knowing full well that Yamamoto could have dodged it. He just wanted to repay him.
  • Younger Than He Looks: Lampshaded constantly with people mistaking him for a parent, even though he is still in middle school.

    Koyo Aoba

Koyo Aoba

The Simon counterpart to Ryohei Sasagawa. Looks like your average nerd, but don't judge the book by its cover. He's very similar to Ryohei in terms of intelligence and personality, which is a shock to everyone who expects him to be the calm and collect nerd archetype.
  • Combat Pragmatist: The difference between Ryohei and Koyo is that Koyo boxes to survive, so he's not above using tricks such as his Forest Flames to attack Ryohei from a distance

    Rauji Ooyama

Rauji Ooyama

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/286315.jpg
The Simon counterpart to Lambo. Unlike Lambo, he's quite friendly and shy, to the point that you want to give the poor guy a hug. And he's quite a softie too, and a Friend to All Children as he is able to get along with Lambo really well.
  • Friend to All Children: Gets along amazingly with Lambo outside their designated battle, and is one of only four characters who Lambo doesn't annoy in the slightest (apart from Kyoko, Haru, and Nana).
  • Intergenerational Friendship: With Lambo. It's even implied Rauji wanted to fight Lambo for this very reason.
  • Magma Man: His Mountain Flames allows him to control magma and sand/soil in the earth.
  • Meaningful Name: His surname means "big mountain". He is by far the "largest" of the new transfer students.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Again, sends Lambo flying in battle he initiated. Though, he doesn't really seem to like having to do it.

    Julie Katou

The Simon counterpart to Mukuro Rokudo/Chrome Dokuro. A complete pervert up to Shamal's level, he's quite a sleazy guy, and he thinks of himself as a charming person that tries to court Chrome many times. Too bad the Julie that we know is actually Daemon Spade and has been possessing Julie for an unknown time.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: He's a complete flirt around cute girls, but rarely means any harm. The one time he did, it was actually Daemon Spade parading around as him.
  • Expy: For someone in Middle School, he certainly looks a lot like Johnny Depp.
  • Grand Theft Me: Julie has, for almost the entire time the readers have known him, actually spent it playing vessel for Daemon Spade. Sucks to be him.
  • Master of Illusion: The Desert Flame seems to hold similar qualities to a Mist Flame. Also one by proxy of being one of Daemon Spade's vessels.
  • Minion Shipping: It's revealed through flashback that Julie and Adelheid had a thing for each other.
  • The Slacker: He even lampshades it in one of Adelheid's flashbacks when he admits that while he acts foolish most of the time, although he immediately subverts it when he says he would gladly give his life away to protect the Shimon family.
  • Split-Personality Takeover: What Daemon's response to Adelheid's questioning about what happened to Julie essentially amounted to.
