Humans

    Naoe Tomoatsu

Voiced by: Takahide Ishii

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_004013.jpg
An employee of the Smiley Boar massage parlor, and the main character.
  • Accidental Pervert: Because Naoe loves big fluffy dogs he accidentally groped Raika in her dog form when they first met. Even in other chapters he ends up so excited to play with or give bath to a dog he has to be reined in by Raika or Elfuda.
  • Berserk Button: The only thing that angers him is when the girls don't take their diet seriously (which of course, with Elfuda, is practically Once per Episode).
  • Characterization Marches On: The reason Naoe prevents himself from being attracted to any of main female characters is due his professional commitment to never see the girls as anything but clients in need of nutritional guidance, however, he did show a mild attraction to his boss Ino early in the series, albeit Naoe was also worried about thinking of such things in the work place, about his own boss. As the series progresses, however, Naoe turns borderline celibate, he doesn't even start to have lecherous thoughts to stop himself from having them anymore, and new girls who are completely outside his program can't faze him.
  • Chubby Chaser: Admits that he is one and had a daydream about Ino's body in the first chapter and if she got plumper. But he's really too coy to act on it and takes his job of slimming down the girls seriously.
  • Consummate Professional: The reason he has so many clients. He's a great teacher and a kind soul to his clients. He can be freaked out or flustered by the antics of the girls off the clock but while he is giving them massages he shows no hesitation and has no problem doing it while they are naked since it's in a work context.
  • Covert Pervert: While he dedicates himself to helping the girls get fit and avoids getting close to them since he's their trainer, he actually is rather appreciative of their bodies, particularly finding their chub appealing. Chapter 40 reveals that a decent part of why it stays "covert" is because, unbeknownst to him, a tapir girl and her companion have been constantly draining away his sense of desire by eating his dreams.
  • Heroes Love Dogs: He likes dogs and always wanted one when he was young, which causes him to pet Raika in her dog form whenever he gets the chance.
  • Hired for Their Looks: Part of the reason he works for Ino is because she finds him really attractive. This is a bonus, since she runs a business that deals with health and fitness, so him being attractive and fit is a selling point.
  • Ignored Expert: The otherworldly women Naoe helps tend to relapse on their weight woes despite his best efforts because of their collective tendency to easily fall back on their basic impulses and desires. However, they are more than aware that his teachings are true and productive, so they always seek his advice.
  • Mr. Fanservice: He is in really good shape, which is shown off whenever Ino convinces him to wear revealing clothing. Additionally, whenever he ends up gaining tons of weight due to the girls' shenanigans, he's never drawn as a Gonk, instead becoming something of a Big Beautiful Man.
  • Must Have Caffeine: He loves coffee and carries around a whole set up on him.
  • Nice Guy: One of his main traits, as he's very forgiving and always offers his help to the girls whenever they need it (which is constantly necessary).
  • Only Sane Man: Everyone else is a fair bit quirkier than him (even his boss has a bit of a problem with drinking too much on a night out and practically sexually harassing him), and he is of course the most disciplined of the recurring cast regarding one's own weight and diet. Only Kusahanada comes close in not having significant personality flaws.
  • Please Put Some Clothes On: Given the nature of the manga, he's the voice of reason that tells his otherworldly clients to cover themselves.
  • Team Dad: More prevalent when he has to teach the girls self-control over their cravings. Elfuda even lampshades that he sounds like her mom, to which he replies it's because she acts like a spoiled kid.
  • Trauma Button: Following his encounter with a man-eating gyaru Kusahanada, any mention of the idea to give Kusahanada anything but water makes him tense up and defy the attempt.
  • Wall of Blather: Gets this explaining the importance of a balanced diet as Elfuda and Medesa eat ramen.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: The worst thing about this Nice Guy is that he's terrified of reptiles, which causes him to go catatonic after he discovers Gonda is a dragon. Medesa's hair turning to snakes causes the same reaction.

    Ino Akiho
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003915.jpg
Naoe's boss, who seeks male affection. She often flirts with Naoe, much to his discomfort.
  • All Women Are Lustful: Curiously, she's the only character who shows any sexual interests, all while being the only human female in the story. She's not exactly subtle about her less-than-professional interest in Naoe's body, and during the first Beach Episode she goes as far as to state her intentions of creating a male harem.
Naoe: The chief is generous, but... If I sued her for sexual harassment, I'd win for sure. (while wearing a swimsuit she gave him...a skimpy speedo with "big" written on the crotch)
  • Aren't You Going to Ravish Me?: She is really attracted to Naoe, so most of her advances are in the interest of him proceeding on his basest instincts. However, she's so forward that she ends up being unsuccessful.
  • Barely-There Swimwear: She's partial towards these, particularly for herself and Naoe.
  • Benevolent Boss:
    • She's really nice towards Naoe, letting him use various locales and even her private island for a beach trip. Granted, she has her own reasons for doing this anyway.
    • She's made sure to tell Naoe that he'll always have a place in her business, and that she'll not part from him under any circumstances.
  • Blind Without Them: When she takes off her glasses to go to a sauna and bath, her "eyes" are drawn like puckered lips instead note  and she fails to look at her conversation topics, though she manages to find her way around still.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: She's always down for a drink and Naoe does his best to avoid drinking with her after seeing how long it takes and how cuddly she gets.
  • Identical Grandson: Aside a mole at the corner of her mouth she has the same face as her grandmother, great-grandmother and so forth. Mero teases she might be from their world.
  • Identical Stranger: Oku is identical to her, only that Ino wears glasses, doesn't have pig ears (of course), and is regularly more fit than Oku.
  • Sexy Mentor: Naoe often comes to her for counsel and support, and in between her flirting and teasing, she gives him sage advise. On top of that, she's a bombshell beauty.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: On both of the beach chapters, her own swimsuits go from skimpy to extremely skimpy. In terms of allure and body shape, she's certainly not behind the otherworldly women in the story; and is the only woman in the story to not have any waistline issues. As more than once Ino isn’t at all bothered showing off her voluptuous body to Naoe.
  • The Tease: She likes to mess with Naoe and makes several sexual/flirty jokes at his expense. Naoe opts to ignore her, though she's always quick to tell him that she's just joking.
  • Uncle Pennybags: She is both wealthy and well connected, having a private island, buying the girls and Naoe's new swimsuit and own a private boxing gym on top of the clinic.

Mythical Females

    Elfuda

Voiced by: Ayasa Itō

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_004338.jpg
Usually seen with fries
The titular elf archer that can't stick to a diet from her favorite fast food snack.
  • Acrofatic: Discussed by Medesa when she mentions that Elfuda is still as agile as a normal elf can be despite her overweight body. But considering all she has is a potbelly and somewhat plumper thighs, it makes sense she’d still be somewhat swift even though she’s out of shape. But that make’s one wonder what she could be capable of, if she were more fit.
  • Berserk Button: Mocking her belly or calling fries junk food.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: Elfuda genuinely becomes this in chapter 13 when she’s tricked by Satyr into eating fries for weeks and becomes fat. But despite all the weight she gained, Elfuda still looked pretty attractive with a portly figure. Later on due to the author’s art style improving and evolving, Elfuda is drawn more thickly and genuinely plus sized in later chapters, particularly in Shin.
  • Butt-Monkey: If something humiliating happens to someone in the cast, it's usually her.
  • Fantastic Racism: Pretty much immediately calls Kuroeda evil because she's a dark elf. That being said, she didn't think of calling "dark elves" one of her dislikes after Naoe was putting together reports on his patients until her attempt to order fries from her was met with a reply that the fryer was being cleaned.
    • Yet both she and Kuroeda are both this as they consider Orcs to be “pig elves" much to Oku’s exasperation and flustered reactions.
  • Formerly Fit: Thanks to her consumption of fattening fries and lack of exercise, she had lost her slim physique and became overweight. And in chapter 13, she is tricked by the series' main "villain" into eating more fries and winds up becoming straight-up fat.
  • Fun T-Shirt: Usually wearing a t-shirt with words on that in some way exalt potatoes or fries.
  • Guilty Pleasure: French fries, due to a highly addictive combination of salt and fat; she ends up snacking on them whenever she can, despite knowing that she should cut down on them to get back in shape again.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Is quick to insult and belittle Medesa about her quasi-addiction to ramen noodles, completely ignoring her own love of french fries.
  • Nature Lover: She has a connection with nature as an elf and is vegetarian... though considering a "scary" story she once told, she may have eaten a lot of fries cooked in beef tallow while deluding herself that something as magnificent as french fries couldn't possibly be made in such a thing.
  • Retired Badass: She decided to spend time in our world after fighting a war, though her once athletic body had overtime become out of shape due to her sedentary lifestyle with high-calorie french fries. But despite being overweight, she has proven to still be a pretty decent archer when the need arises.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: She doesn't care about showing skin or being naked in front of people, much to Naoe's annoyance. And whenever Elfuda gains a lot of weight than usual on the rare occasion from her misadventures, she like Naoe, actually wears it well enough to become more of a Big Beautiful Woman.
  • Temporary Bulk Change: In chapter 13 Elfuda nearly loses her potbelly and almost regained her slim physique. But after she "miraculously" wins a year’s worth of french fries she is quick to forgo her diet. After weeks of stuffing herself with fries with an equally-addicted Naoe, she winds up not only undoing her progress but gains even more weight and becomes fat. Thankfully afterwards she is able to lose most of the weight but is once again stuck with her infamous potbelly.
  • Punny Name: Her name, as read in Japanese kana (Erufuda), simply is the describing phrase: "Erufu Da / It's an Elf".
  • Trademark Favorite Food:
    • French fries, which are pretty much the sole reason Elfuda can't control her weight. It's not a chapter of Plus-Sized Elf if Elfuda doesn't mention or eat french fries. An omake chapter and other statements clearly show her love of french fries is not complacent and she also delights in trying out different kinds.
    • Shin Chapter 2 shows her love of potato-based products extends to jumping at the chance to try a potato-based alcoholic drink.

    Kuroeda

Voiced by: Rena Hasegawa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003955.jpg
A dark elf with both a big temper and a big butt. Often butts heads with Elfuda.
  • Berserk Button: Mocking the size of her butt. Elfuda, of course, mocks it frequently.
  • Big Eater: A notable Aversion. Kuroeda's problems are not that she is addicted to human food like the others, but that her sedentary job results in poor circulation and lack of exercise. Combined with the lack of a nutritional diet this caused her to gain a lot of weight in her lower body, most notably her buttocks, thighs and calves becoming quite plump. Otherwise she is the only girl to not have a noticeable gut or potbelly. This is lampshaded in chapter 31, where Naoe brings her along to keep her away from her job, while he brought Elfuda, Oeda, and Medesa on the trip to keep them from junk food.
  • Brown Bag Mask: Her golems seem to all be a variant of this trope, appearing to wear plastic bags over their heads with two holes for where a head's eyes would be.
  • Clothing Damage: She works with Naoe to keep her weight down because her (skimpy) magical clothing was being strained by her heftier lower body and risking this scenario.
  • Fantastic Racism: Kuroeda bites back to Elfuda's assertions that she's evil because she's a dark elf by calling her a typical prideful forest Hikikomori.
  • Hartman Hips: Her area of focus and the source of her grief is her butt, which is massive and often shreds her pants when she moves around too much.
  • Hidden Depths: It's shown that she'd much rather get along with Elfuda, but their mutual racial prejudices against each other end up getting the better of them.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She can be pretty rude and manipulative but does appreciate Naoe's help, one time trying to repay his kindness by making a weight loss potion to make his job easier.
  • Punny Name: Just like Elfuda, her name as read in Japanese kana: Kuroe[rufu]da, simply is the describing phrase: "Kuro Erufu Da / It's a Black Elf". Alternatively Kuroe can also be transliterated as Chloe, pointing towards "Kuroe Da / It's Chloe".
  • The Rival: Elfuda and Kuroeda rarely fail to insult and attack each other whenever they're around each other, and are occasionally competitive. Both are elves that have trouble losing weight.
  • Squishy Wizard: She can do really strong magic but is really out of shape due to standing behind a counter all day. Because of that her lower body is bloated and she has less endurance than Elfuda.
  • Summon Magic: She can summon golems to assist her at work. Thanks to Naoe's training regimen she can control six of them.
  • Troll: Mostly toward Elfuda where she screws her fries order on purpose.
  • Workaholic: She won't work past her shifts but she is so diligent she takes as much shifts as possible and the owner knows she will do over tiem or fill in if asked to the point Naoe has to drag her to a private beach to make sure she doesn't get called on a day off. And it's not exactly her being forced as when she tries to get her hands on Gonda's treasure it's so she can work less shifts instead of just retiring.

    Mero
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003941.jpg
In her human form
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003928.jpg
In her fishy form
An energetic mermaid that loves singing and eating fish. She can't swim in her human form for some reason.

    Kusahanada
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003903_6.jpg
An alraune, a mythical plant with humanoid traits. Very passive and submissive unless she drinks coffee.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Debatable. She's an alraune in the original Japanese, but is called a mandragora in the English version. Popular culture often portrays these as two different types of plant creatures, though they're sometimes considered the same thing due to alraune being German for "mandrake".
  • Curtains Match the Window: Green hair and eyes.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Naoe reasons out that she's got improper posture in her first appearance that is causing her shoulder pain and could further cause her trouble with her lower back and neck. This's due to the flower on her head growing too much from sunlight and weighing her down... though for anyone else, one would suspect such problems would be caused by having breasts as large as hers.
  • Flowers of Nature: As an alraune/mandragora, she has an actual flower growing out of her head. It becomes larger the more sunlight it soaks up, which in her first appearance leads to it severely weighing her down.
  • Gender Bender: Chapter 41 reveals that drinking the mermaid transformation supplement swaps her sex.
  • Gyaru Girl: Transforms into one if she drinks coffee.
  • Man-Eating Plant: Alongside becoming a gyaru, she changes into one of these after drinking coffee, specifically a Venus fly trap-like plant. She tries, and is implied to succeed at, swallowing Naoe alive, but the caffeine apparently left her system and she spit him back out before anything bad could happen to him. Alcohol, meanwhile, turns her into a pitcher plant, in which form she manages to swallow Naoe, Elfuda and Oga alive.
  • Plant Person: As an alraune, she only has a flower on her head to show it and can control vines.
  • Ship Tease: She flirts a bit with Naoe and one time even said she wanted a turn sleeping on his crotch.
  • Team Mom: Like Naoe, she does her best to stop any arguments between the other girls, though she does it in a more motherly way.

    Oga

Voiced by: Ayaka Fukuhara

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003748.jpg
A powerful ogre who's also a serious alcoholic. Loves children and fighting.
  • Amazonian Beauty: She may have a bit of a beer gut, but despite that she is both very ripped and quite attractive. Chapter 17 even displays her as having lost enough weight that some of her abs are visible under her clothes sporadically throughout it. However several chapters later she seems to have undone her progress as her abs melted back into a two pack further in the series. Nonetheless Oga is still quite a beefy beauty.
  • Functional Addict: Pretty much a downplayed example of this trope - compared to most other fictional alcoholics, the vast majority of the usual drawbacks of alcoholism don't really apply with Oga, she just drinks too much to the point that it's causing her to put on extra weight. Any real indications that she's an alcoholic are pretty uncommon aside from brightening up at the mention of liquor (which really isn't all that different from just someone with a Trademark Favorite Food), one instance of hangover and the fact she's doing a weight loss regimen with Naoe which is because of weight gain caused by her alcoholism, and none of the characters seem to have a problem with her alcoholism otherwise.
  • Gentle Giant: She's quite tall and muscular, but she's also really friendly, especially when it comes to kids.
  • My Beloved Smother: To an unhealthy degree to any kid-looking character she meets, with her lowest point being managing to delude herself that an age-regressed Naoe is her son she gave birth to... using the logic they both have black hair. And whenever her mama fantasies are shattered, nearly falls into a near catonic state from the comical heartbreak.
  • Phrase Catcher: Whenever she behave like a drunk or has mommy delusions someone will ask her to go home.
  • Sizeshifter: As a titan, Hitome mentions that Oga too can shift between human size and giant size, spending most of her time at human size.
  • Stout Strength: She has a beer gut but is still built like an ogre and is extremely muscular.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Yellow eyes with slit pupils.

    Raika
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003816.jpg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003804.jpg
A lycanthrope who speaks in the third person. She engages in stereotypical dog behavior.
  • Aggressive Submissive: She's a proud werewolf but by accidentally making Naoe her pack leader she obeys him like a dog.
  • Insistent Terminology: She's not a dog but a wolf... according to her, anyway.
  • My Instincts Are Showing: She acts like a dog most of the time and can't go against her pack mentality.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: When she's in her dog form, she likes resting on Naoe's crotch among other things.
  • Precious Puppy: Her weight problem stems from people liking to feed a cute dog after they see it. Of course, she could technically not eat the food given to her, but that's why it's a weight problem.
    • She later finds a young orphan dog that she was struggling to provide for. The paired sight of the adorable little whimpering pup and Raika having been rendered skinny from putting off eating to feed it instead actually manages to get Elfuda to give up her french fries to them (and then they were both chewed out by Naoe for feeding a dog salty food).

    Oku
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003733.jpg
An orc striving to slim down, due to being bullied for being chubby, but she is still one of the kindest characters out of the cast. She loves swimming and is quite friendly, though tends to be quite gullible.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: Even though all the monster girls fall under the same category, Oku fits the most. While the others are simply overweight in some shape and form, Oku is outright chubby. But despite how she desires to be slimmer, some could argue her plump figure is what makes her quite attractive. Especially since several times in the story and some official art show off Oku’s rubenesque body.
  • Fantastic Racism: Downplayed Trope, but the elves seem to like to insult her frequently despite her being entirely kind and never failing to brush the insults off anyway.
  • Formerly Fat: Averted. After uncovering the secrets her tribe had passed down, known to us as "dieting", Oku diligently started to swimming laps in a public swimming pool on a daily basis. As a result, she managed to lose a considerable amount of weight and gained a slender yet voluptuous body. Unfortunately when the pool closed down for the winter, Oku had no other methods for maintaining her diet regimen, and due to her large appetite, quickly regained all the weight she lost and became stout again.
  • Identical Stranger: Oku initially looks almost exactly like Ino when her ears are covered up and doesn’t wear glasses. But after gaining weight and becoming chubby, the resemblance becomes more vague.
  • Little Bit Beastly: She has the ears and the tail of a pig, she's a great swimmer (as pigs can be), and all orcs apparently tend to eat a lot (or, you know...pig out?). She also understandably freaks out when Naoe talks about pork, clearly feeling sympathy with pigs.
  • The Pollyanna: Unlike the other girls she lets all the insults about her weight slide and is quite happy-go-lucky.
  • Stout Strength: Even though she’s considered the "chubbiest" of the monster girls, as an orc she has strength above any non-titan characters, to Naoe's surprise. But it’s revealed that Orcs like Oku aren’t actually fat; they’re simply plump from functional muscle mass that gives them a stout appearance.
  • Super Gullible: Her great interest in weight-loss is such that she bothered to buy every weight loss item on the market. Even if a frustrated Naoe tells her time and time again that they’re just scams and she’s wasting money.

    Kobo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003721.jpg
A bratty kobold masquerading as a normal bratty kid. She forces other kids to give her sweets at a playground.
  • Everyone Has Standards: She will steal, extort and exploit for profit but she'd feel indebted if someone straight up offer her something. When Naoe let her and Gonda use his bathroom while he clean their dirty clothes she refuses until he accepts her payment for service rendered.
  • Greed: Her obsession is with money and valuables. Since she has the mentality of a precocious brat her idea of valuable include sweets and snacks that causes her to put on weight.
  • Heel–Face Turn: She keeps her promise to no longer do bad things, because she found being a popular beauty way better and would need Naoe's help when the pampering makes her fat again.
  • Odd Friendship: Has one with Gonda, as the two share a mutual love of shiny things. It is common to see the two paired together.
  • Older Than They Look: She looks like a little kid, but she's actually around the same age as the rest of the cast.
  • Retcon: Originally identified as a hobbit (including being named Hobi) in the first chapter she appears in note , later chapters have described her as being a kobold instead, with Chapter 37 outright confirming it.

    Satero
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003704.jpg
The closest thing to a Big Bad this manga can have, Satero is a Jerkass Satyr with a score to settle. Fortunately, her plots are not seriously dangerous, and they always fail. Like just about everyone else, she's put on some weight from all of the modern world's indulging in desires for her to drain, though she is outside of Naoe's circle and doesn't go to him for a weight loss regimen.
  • Animal Eyes: Yellow goat eyes with dark sclera.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Not really a threat to anyone, but still an antagonist.
  • Butt-Monkey: She is sure to be undermined, if she was causing any "threat" in the first place, by nudity occurring. This causes her to further nurse a desire for revenge over her embarrassment, so she can later end up embarrassed again later.
  • Defeat by Modesty: Her first appearance ends this way, with Elfuda shooting her with an arrow that ends up causing her flimsy choice of dress to get off of her, leading her to flee in embarrassment.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: She doesn't want to hurt the elves and Naoe, just humiliate them or pull pranks, which puts her at odds with the gorgon sisters.
  • Evil Is Petty: Her schemes are based more on humiliation than harm. At worst all she’s done is fatten up Naoe and Elfuda to humiliate them as they grew too big to wear anything. Which blew up in her face spectacularly, since Elfuda wasn’t bothered at all by others seeing her plump body.
    • later she sicced the Gorgon sisters on Elfuda and her friends so they’d humiliate her by being brutally beaten at a game of volleyball. But like her previous scheme that doesn’t work out as well as intended.
  • Fattening the Victim: Satero is known for this, as she’s a trickster who gets a kick out of tempting humans with their desires through her gluttonous enchantments and fattening them up. She did this to Naoe originally in chapter ten by hypnotizing him to overeat as he slept and making him overweight until she was driven off when she got "humiliated" by him and Elfuda. This leads her to later on get revenge by getting the duo hooked on french fries and successfully fattening them up so they’d be humiliated by how big she’s tricked them to get. But Elfuda didn’t mind others seeing her plumper body and left Satero running away in embarrassment.
  • Horned Humanoid: Two goat-like horns which extend horizontally from her head.
  • Irony: While in-story she's a satyr, she's pretty much a succubus, a being of lust and eroticism. However, every time she sees Naoe naked, she either runs away in embarrassment or is knocked out from shock, and clearly seems to detest being a target of sexual attraction despite wearing a Naked Apron and such a thing causing desire, which she can take and consume. Oeda even weaponized this by way of applying Medesa's petrification powers to Naoe's clothes when she didn't want to deal with her.
  • Naked Apron: Wears nothing other than an apron and stockings.
  • Naked People Are Funny: Nudity's not an uncommon thing within the manga, but when Satero's around, you can guarantee nudity's going to be used as a more outright humorous element.
  • Palette Swap: Takes a human form in a Beach Episode, which exchanges her dark skin and light hair for pale skin and dark hair.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: She doesn't take clothing malfunctions well. One would figure she'd try something less daring than an apron and stockings then, but she doesn't aside from specifically disguising herself.
  • Unknown Rival: Elfuda remembers her but doesn't seem to know that she holds a grudge on her specifically, thinking Satero wants to target the human again.
  • Unreliable Narrator: Every time she brings up her humiliation she makes it look like Naoe ogled on her with a mention affirming that such a thing didn't actually happen.

    Honeda
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003649.jpg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003628.jpg
An undead spirit that still has dietary problems (despite being both dead and skeletal).
  • Court Mage: Her job before she was accused of treason and hanged.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She was wrongfully accused of treason and like the elves she has been involved in the war.
  • King of Games: She effortlessly demolishes everybody at every single board game Naoe owns.
  • Our Fairies Are Different: Before dying, she was a fairy, being close to elves and able to do magic when she was alive.
  • Pungeon Master: Makes a lot of them about bones.
  • Vengeful Ghost: Completely and utterly averted - despite how she tells everyone she was wrongly accused of and executed for treason, she never once even mentions seeking revenge or setting her name right even in death. The most is when she mentions having thought about her pain, terror, sadness, anger and hatred on the verge of death.

    Gonda
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003613.jpg
An intimidating, unemotional dragon with a love of shiny things.
  • Breath Weapon: She has a dragon flame attack.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Her hair's pink, with her eyes a deeper shade of this color.
  • Dragon Hoard: Kuroeda thinks she has one and tries to slim her down for a share of it. Gonda however hoards anything shiny no matter the value so she gives her marbles she found in a bathroom.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While she is selfish and loves shiny things she deems stealing Kobo's loot beneath her.
  • It's All About Me: As a dragon she sees herself as an apex predator with everyone around to serve her whims.
  • Lazy Dragon: She's a dragon girl that greatly prefers laying about and sleeping, while keeping watch of her personal "hoard".
  • Odd Friendship: Has one with Kobo, as the two share a mutual love of shiny things. The two work together to split whatever shiny things they see.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: She has absolutely no concern about being seen in a state of undress, with most of her outfits barely covering anything, and her outright sunbathing in the nude when the cast visited the beach again.
  • Smarter Than You Look: She looks and acts like a lazy and greedy dragon, but she's actually quite intelligent, such as when she beat the Sea Emperor kraken girl through a combination of quick analysis towards her surroundings and a bit of guile.
  • Terse Talker: She talks telepathically in short sentences.

    Hitome
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003558.jpg
A cyclops whose bulk and size is matched by her friendliness. Like Oga, she loves fighting.
  • Amazonian Beauty: While not really having any legitimate muscle definition like Oga or Oeda, it’s clear she still has quite a beefy and brawny physique..
  • Big Beautiful Woman: Aversion. She is considered one of the bigger characters but it’s less that she’s chubby like Oku and just has a plain out stocky build, yet like her rival Oga, she is quite attractive.
  • Fear of Thunder: Chapter 38 reveals she's absolutely terrified of thunder.
  • Ironic Fear: In Greek mythology, thunder and lightning were created by the original cyclopes, while Hitome is utterly frightened by them.
  • Power Incontinence: When she's scared enough, such as through her fear of thunder, she loses control of her Sizeshifting and reverts to her regular giant size, causing Clothing Damage as well.
  • The Rival: To Oga, as titans are very competitive against each other by nature.
    • Friendly Rivalry: Over time their relationship shifts to this, as they can be seen hanging out on a more friendly basis.
  • Sizeshifter: As a titan, she has the ability to shift between her natural "giant" size and a smaller human-like size, spending most of her time as the latter.
  • Stout Strength: She may appear almost stout like Oku, but not only is she even taller than Oga, but carries several pounds of bulky muscle mass that meshes with a couple layers of firm fat. Very similar to the kind of physique powerlifters develop to possess peak level strength. Though she still seeks to lose some of the weight she gained on earth so it doesn’t mess with her boxing skills.
  • Ultimate Blacksmith: It's mentioned that she is one, appropriately for a cyclops (various Greek myths have them as master smiths). Such as when she made an incredibly detailed sword sculpture out of sand during the cast’s beach day.

    Oeda
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003538.jpg
Elfuda's aunt, a powerful and experienced warrior with a more strict approach to life.
  • Amazonian Beauty: Not quite as brawny as Oga or Hitome, but she's got a lot more lean muscle definition than her niece while otherwise looking pretty similar to her facially. Can't forget about all those scars too...
  • Animal Lover: Oeda likes soft serve, pre-firearm military equipments and cute animals. She volounteered to retrieve the manticore that got stranded in the portal so she could bring it back alive instead of harming it.
  • Character Development: At first she saw Naoe as a bad influence on Elfuda as he is too kind on her which leads to her staying overweight since no one disciplines her properly. After seeing Oeda's Training from Hell Naoe puts his foot down and say that she is the one in the wrong and her barbaric methods are wrong too, impressing Oeda. In the next chapters, she always follows Naoe's instructions and punishes the girls that don't.
  • Collector of the Strange:
    • Chapter 37 outright states that she likes collecting helmets.
    • Chapter 15 of Shin so that she hoards the cups of the soft serve she's eaten.
  • The Comically Serious: She rarely changes facial expressions and is really serious but has soft-serve cravings and acts as clueless as her niece sometimes.
  • Covered in Scars: Look, just see her picture for yourself.
  • The Dreaded: Played for Laughs; she scares her niece and Kuroeda into behaving or in the latter case just to socialize.
Oeda: Even if I only invite you in for tea, you better drink it.
  • Epic Fail:
    • She is sent to get Elfuda back home, but ends up becoming overweight and thus gets stuck on earth herself.
    • After being sent to earth to find a manticore, she failed to find it for a week. By the time she found them, they both became overweight and thus left unable to return home.
  • Hypocrite: She constantly berates Elfuda for overdoing it with the potatoes, but is just as bad as her when it comes to soft serve.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Puts her niece through some Training from Hell to slim her down and thinks it's completely necessary, but acquiesces to Naoe asserting that she's using an unhealthy methodology to deal with Elfuda being overweight. She also clearly has fond memories of her niece as a child and shares a heartfelt goodbye with her (until it turns out she can't actually leave either).
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Oeda constantly scolded and berated Elfuda for gaining weight and puts her through a harsh training regimen that does more harm than good. But despite learning the error of her ways, fell into the same position as her niece, and ended up growing a potbelly from eating all those soft-serves.
  • Not So Above It All: She doesn't hesitate to discipline the others if they get rowdy or don't follow the rules but is just as obsessed with soft-serve as her niece is with fries and similarly ends up being unable to return home.
  • Old Soldier: She's centuries older than Elfuda. Also, the scars all over her body reflect her time in battles.
  • Running Gag: For some reason, Oeda just seems to like wearing pre-industrial combat helmets.
  • Stout Strength: Just like Oga, she lost some of her abs and grew a small gut from her negative dietary changes, but nonetheless she is still portrayed as being pretty muscular and athletic compared to the other monster girls despite her potbelly.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: She looks pretty much like an older, heavily-scarred and muscular version of Elfuda.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Hers is soft-serve icecream, and just like her niece, it is the main reason why she becomes overweight.

    Medesa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003505.jpg
A goofy gorgon with a love of ramen. In fact it's all she eats.
  • Animal Eyes: Snake eyes.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Her petrifying eye powers act up when she gets mad.
  • Formerly Fit: She used to be the thin one of her sister-trio - until she discovered ramen in our world, that is. Thus leading her to unfortunately gaining weight and being unable to return home.
  • Glamour Failure: Her hair transforms back into two large snakes if she becomes upset or angry (or her sisters do nearby).
  • Guilty Pleasure: Ramen, to the point she makes it every meal of the day that she eats, breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper.
  • Medusa: She fires petrification beams from her eyes, which she can reverse with her tears, and her hair becomes two large snakes when she loses control of her emotions (or her sisters lose control nearby).
  • Opaque Nerd Glasses: She wears a pair to help control her powers.
  • Serious Business: Ramen. She almost petrifies Naoe and Elfuda because of how enraged she feels after Elfuda dumps fries into her ramen - her glasses fly straight off because of it.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Literally eats nothing but ramen, because of how much she loves it.

    Oneiros
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oneiros.PNG
An oneiros, a dream-eater, that sustains herself upon the dreams and nightmares of sleeping people, namely Naoe. She carries with her a strange creature named Pobe, a small horned elephant that likes to eat bad dreams.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": In the most literal sense, she is an Oneiros, and her given name is Oneiros
  • Animal Companion: Pobe, a small horned pachyderm.
  • Dream Stealer: Her modus operandi. She waits for humans to have enjoyable dreams to feed on.
  • Evil Versus Evil: Heavily downplayed. Neither her nor Satero can really be considered evil, but they are the closest thing this manga has to villains. Both of them feed off of the desire of Naoe and other humans, and Satero does not want Oneiros to meddle with the human that she seeks revenge on.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Both her and Pobe share this.
  • Harmless Villain: Like Satero, she's not much of a villain. At worse she’s a nuisance to Naoe. But in Shin she works with Sutero to make Naoe have a series of jarring dreams and feed off of them to gain enough magical energy to contort and transfer its energies into Sutero’s body so she can gain weight more easily. But this doesn’t go as planned, and leaves poor Naoe utterly exhausted by the end of the restless fiasco.
  • Mythical Motifs: She is named after the Greek personification of dreams, and her little animal friend bears resemblance to a baku, a creature of Japanese folklore that eats nightmares.

Introduced in Shin

    Nekono

Before food
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/firefox_byjssb3puw_6.png
After food
A manticore that escaped into the human world after attacking a wagon in the other world. She now resides in Naoe's home after being trained by Elfuda.
  • Achievement In Ignorance: According to Elfuda Manticores aren't smart enough to use the gate by themselves and she is also surprised that Nekono can turn humanoid of into a small cat.
  • Baby Of The Bunch: While not physically the smallest, she has the mind of a child who can't really speak much and goes on instinct. Justified by Elfuda stating that adult manticores are usually much larger than humans, and Nekono's about the size of an average lion, making her a child in this case.
  • Big Eater: She looks at almost anything with the mindset that it can be eaten.
  • Cats Are Lazy: She does nothing but laze around unless food is involved.
  • Fun Size: Her enegy-saving mode makes her the size of a regular house cat.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: While she seems to be omnivorous, manticores are predators and she has a vested interest in eating Naoe even after being trained. Thankfully, she can be distracted with other food.
  • The Stoic: Not only does she never emote, but she never speaks either.

Other Characters

    The Emperor of the Sea
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20191023_003525.jpg
A kraken who watches the cast as they go to the beach of an island. Her bark is worse than her bite.
  • Bishōnen Line: Her training herself to become stronger resulted in her evolving, and apparently the only way she could get even stronger was by becoming human-like. This being in the form of a curvaceous young woman.
  • Combat Tentacles: As to be expected from a kraken, she is capable of using her tentacles for combat, such as restraining people with them. After evolving, she gains the "Unlimited Tentacle Works" ability, which allows her create water portals to summon numerous tentacles for this purpose.
  • Harmless Villain: Even after training herself to the point of evolving, granting her the ability to be a legitimate potential threat to the cast, she's still quite hopeless, as her attempt to restrain and kill them is stopped by her tentacles being burned away due to sunlight diffused through Honeda's magical body reflecting off Gonda's shiny pebble collection, before being launched back into the sea when Oeda mistook her for a watermelon to smash.
  • Made of Iron: Despite the fact Kuroeda accidentally skewers her in a way that would normally kill any squid, she somehow manages to survive this and come back in an effort to take revenge on the beachgoing cast for nearly killing her.
  • Morphic Resonance: After taking on a human form, her hair has two large strands hanging off the side of her head that are shaped like her old tentacles.
  • Not Quite Dead: Despite appearing to have been killed when specific points were pierced, she actually survived it.
  • Poke the Poodle: None of her attempts to prank the others ever get noticed due to how harmless they are.
  • Pungeon Master: Her narration frequently includes squid-based puns, some easily translatable and others borderline impossible without sounding awkward. It really comes to the forefront when she starts actually speaking to other characters.
  • Scars Are Forever: After barely surviving being impaled through the brain, she ended up gaining a permanent scar on her forehead. It still remains even after evolving into her human form, though she does admit it looks pretty cool.
  • She Is the King: Despite calling herself "Emperor" of the Sea, she's actually a female kraken, as shown when she took on a human-like form
  • Took a Level in Badass: She was originally such a weakling that she was nearly killed by being skewered. After barely surviving and losing her title, she trained both her body and mind in order to reclaim her "throne". It paid off, as she not only became immensely strong, gaining major muscle-mass in her body, she went so far as to evolve her body into a human-like form so that she could go on land.
  • Unknown Rival: No one even notices her pranks and just think it's one of the girls messing around. When she finally interacts with the cast, they don't even know who she is, much less remember almost accidentally killing her.
  • Weakened by the Light: Her second defeat is due in part to the sun burning her tentacles.

    Medesa's sisters
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2_52.jpg
Eure on the left, Suteno on the right
Suteno and Eure are the two older sisters of Medesa. Gorgons like her, they are very much protective of their younger sibling and will seek revenge on anyone that mistreats or insults her, like Elfuda.
  • Big Sister Instinct: They saw Elfuda messing with Medesa and go on the warpath against her.
  • Formerly Fat: When they entered our world, they were both very obese. They lost a lot of weight searching for their sister without much rest or food. Leading them to unintentionally become fit and curvy bombshells. But unlike the other main characters, they have to do the opposite and fatten themselves up to return home. But for now seem they seem to be enjoying their slenderness until they have to become butterballs again.
    • However later in Shin it’s revealed they are actually having trouble gaining weight due to their strong metabolisms. Leading to Eure going to Oku for advice to solve this issue given her race’s stout nature from their big appetites. But Oku remarks that perhaps she should’ve gone to Elfuda instead given how easy it is for the wood elf to gain weight from her lack of self control.
    • Later on Suteno calls the aid of Oneiros and they come up with a plan for the dream eater to feed off Naoe’s dreams so she can gain enough magical power to make him have a dream where he needs to "accumulate mass” and transfer its energies into Suteno; and alter her body to make it easier for her to gain weight. However, due to Naoe having a particular nightmare about wanting to be "bigger", it inadvertently causes Suteno becoming much more taller and shapely instead of gaining any weight like she had planned.
