openAuthors Saving Throw misuse?
I've seen many examples of Author's Saving Throw like these:
- Many fans objected to the ending of "A Friend In Deed", which destroyed its intended message that some people just won't respond to your pushing friendship on them by vindicating Pinkie for eventually winning him over through her unyielding determination. This episode makes the same message much clearer as Pinkie unwittingly threatens Maud and Starlight's budding friendship with her constant interference, the difference being that Pinkie takes it to heart once called out on her behavior. This is also a throw towards the very divisive "No Second Prances" by showing that Pinkie is 100% in the wrong for her actions breaking up the friendship with Starlight and Maud, unlike that episode where Trixie was in the wrong, but only because Twilight's paranoia and distrust got the better of her.
- It seems that the writers apparently agreed that there were too many redemptions. After Lampshade Hanging how many villains had been Easily Forgiven in the Season 7 finale, the final two seasons dialed the redemptions back. The only antagonists who were redeemed were Chancellor Neighsay, Ahuizotl, and Dr. Caballeron, who were Good All Along and/or Well Intentioned Extremists rather than outright villains. Outright villains instead now got actual punishments, such as turning Chrysalis, Cozy Glow, and Tirek into stone in the Grand Finale.
My impression is AST is retcons or additions to the contentious story things to fix them. So what's described here, a similar story with a more desirable handling/outcome, seems a misuse as it's not directly connected to and thus directly fixing the original contentious story.
The second part is controversial as several find it unfair they were punished after all the prior redemptions. I believe since YMMV can't be played with AST has to be widely viewed as successful, which given the drama surrounding that I don't think is the case. This likely wouldn't have been so controversial if they went back and did something to fix the criticized redemption (it worked great for Discord in season 4 and Sunset Shimmer in Rainbow Rocks) highlighting how their lack of redemption was deservingly punished, arguing ATS should only apply to direct fixes to the original contentious story.
Thoughts?

I found this on Funny.Death Battle Season Seven, which I doubt belongs there.
- Shortly after the YouTube release, we learn that not even the editors for the Death Battle Wiki aren't above adding comedy to the plot of the battle proper with one example being:
- Esdeath also retreats with her prosthetic hand and shield, and estimates at what secret "trump card" Gray has to pull up his pants.Note seriously, this is whats on the Wiki.
openGame of Thrones Live Action TV
Is there any way that I can read the Game of Thrones pages before Season 8? Like all the content from Seasons 1-7 with absolutely no mention of Bran the Broken, or Mad Queen Daenerys because it’s all bullshit. I enjoyed reading the pages before but I can’t anymore because of all the horrible things from Season 8 like Daenerys being a villain and Sansa becomes a wise just Queen. Is there any possible way to get all the Game of Thrones pages with the content being pre season 8? I want to put it in my notes or files so I can continue reading the GOT tv tropes without reading things I consider non-canon shit.
openProper use of DeadpanSnarker trope Film
It seems that if a character delivers some snarky lines in a film, they tend to get the Deadpan Snarker character trope listed in their section on the character page.
I had always thought that Deadpan Snarker was character who's communication contains a lot of snark and not just a handful of good snarky lines over the course of the entire movie because is seems that snarky dialog is the norm in movies currently.
However, re-reading the definition of the Deadpan Snarker says "A character prone to gnomic, sarcastic, sometimes bitter, occasionally whimsical asides. They can vary wildly from rare, funny one-liners to complete obnoxiousness."
That last part "from rare, funny one-liners" sort implies it can be just a few snarks where "complete obnoxiousness" implies they snark all the time.
But given such a broad range of expression, it seems that if a character delivers even a single snarky line, they qualify for Deadpan Snarker. Which kinda makes it a non-helpful character trope.
Am I interpreting the definition incorrectly?

Characters.Archie Comics Sonic The Hedgehog Freedom Fighters has been receiving a lot of pro-Sonic/Sally shipping moments lately, which are from before the comic was rebooted. In the post-reboot comic, Sally was instead extremely close with Nicole, and according to Ian Flynn, the Homoerotic Subtext between Sally and Nicole was entirely intentional on the writers' part, with a Bumblekast interview clarifying that post-reboot Sally was bi, had dated Sonic in the past but it didn't work out, and would eventually enter a committed relationship with Nicole.
I thought that was evidence enough to put Sally/Nicole as an official couple post-reboot with Sonic/Sally being pre-reboot specifically (especially since Ian had gotten sick of the shipping wars and made them just friends post-reboot), but Eagle70 deleted it and kept Sonic/Sally as the only official couple, citing a link to someone bashing Ian's podcast as evidence. Any advince for what to do? I think at the very least Sonic/Sally should be clarified as pre-reboot.

I've been going through Trope Epitaph and adding informational notes where they're missing. Does anyone remember why Im Not Angry got cut? All the cut reason says is "TRS consensus" and I can't find a thread.

openThis work page needs help
I just found TabletopGame.Duncans Campaign. It has a lot of problems, including trope misuse, botched formatting, zero-context examples, and poor spelling, but the most notable problem is that it's being troped as a publicly accessible roleplay even though, to quote the description, it's "a Dungeons and Dragons campaign between 5-8 friends and none of the cast posting any content or art from it online". So at the very least, it should go to DarthWiki.Unpublished Works, right?

Edited by fraggleloveropenFriends Headscrachers Live Action TV
First of all I'm sorry I don't know to link the page other than to do this: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Headscratchers/Friends Secondly, this might be a stupid question but can anyone tell me if this page warrants a clean up? I know conversations are not allowed but it's a bit of a grey area when it comes to Headscratchers, however I do think it could at very least do with a trimming as there is bashing, off topic comments and people saying the same thing but differently. Any thoughts?

resolved Starting a Page for a Certain Fanfic Work
Hello. I've been on here a while, and I've recently decided that I'd like to try to create a tropes page for the Naruto fanfic, The Element Of Time by Rasenshur1ken. It has already been included amongst the Peggy Sue section of the Naruto Fanfic Recs page, and I feel that it is perhaps worthy of its own trope page. However, I am not entirely certain of exactly what I'm supposed to do in order to successfully create one. If at all possible, could I receive some pointers on how to create such a page? I'd greatly appreciate any and all possible assistance in this matter. Thanks.
openAnd That's Terrible or Designated Villain?
In Go Animate, there exist videos of Warren Cook making fake VHS openings, and getting in trouble for it, even though most people consider there being nothing wrong with that. Would that be And That's Terrible or Designated Villain?
openHateDumb description of PC and Un-PC Crusaders overly verbose?
Looking at the Hate Dumb description of the two groups, while the entries themselves are certainly accurate (I've had personally experience with pretty much all of those specific kinds of bullshit to a tee), and both entries are equally long and the analyses even-handed enough that it avoids coming off as lopsided in favor of one group or the other, they certainly need their share of condensing. Especially considering they're much longer than most other examples on that page.
openHow to pothole\put redirects
I’m REALLY new to the website, how do you add redirects or make a sentence blue?
Is it a bad practice to use creator links even when they don't have a page, thus making a red link? I have a habit of doing it, especially on character and trivia pages but I often see people undo it without commenting.
I thought these kinds of red links were encouraged since in theory it would encourage people to make the page and it would make it easier with crosswicking if the page is eventually made, but it's happening so often I'm wondering if it's a bad practice and if I should stop doing it?
