[up]I'm against that. Due to politics' inherent nature, what's hilarious to one person might be harsher to another (which is why political examples aren't allowed on the hindsight tropes.)

So, I Knew It! is trivia, but I saw a YMMV page someone had put it, which made me think, doesn't it make more sense for that to be YMMV?

I also saw I Knew It! on a YMMV page, and it's about something the fans predicted was going to happen, and God confirmed that the twist was intended. Ascended Fanon is when a fan theory is just thrown in by God. So maybe I Knew It! is trivia.

Also I've seen Spiritual Successor on YMMV because a work is compared to another work.

Should Dolled-Up Installment be trivia? It's when an originally unrelated work is retooled with a franchise's name. This is something that happens during the "making" portion and can only be confirmed by creators. The opposite, Divorced Installment, is trivia.

Role-Ending Misdemeanor, like every other trivia entry, has a banner that says it's a trivia entry and not a trope. But this page in particular also says "This is a trope, as the events and narrative affect each other." at the end of the description. So is it a trope or not?

~ANT Muddle added that line in 2019 on the grounds that... it hadn't been flagged as trivia on A Face in the Crowd. Which is an in-universe example.

I'd bet several dollars that it's safe to revert that particular edit.

As in, "why are we only bringing this up now, a year after it was added to the page"? I only just saw it today.

One of the eternal truths you will learn about this wiki is that, even when people do habitually read the entire description of an article, they don't frequently re-read it.

I only do it when I'm unsure of an example I'm about to add, which, for Role-Ending Misdemeanor, is not a thing that has ever happened. Mostly because I'm not super interested in that particular bit of trivia anyway, but never mind...

Video Inside, Film Outside: This is currently classified as a trope and even has a Playing With subpage, but it seems clear to me that it's a trivia? It's a fact about the production. (One that is clearly visible to the audience, admittedly, but still.)

Is it me or does it seem like Auteur License should be trivia.

Protection from Editors is clearly Trivia mislabeled as YMMV. It's about the author giving a relief from Executive Meddling. And is anyone using the crowner anymore?

Should Bowdlerise be considered Trivia? Most examples focus on meta changes to the work, and it's usually a form of Executive Meddling.

[up]I think so.

I've just added the Bowdlerize and Protection from Editors tropes to the crowner and, unless someone objects, I'm planning to move the Character Outlives Actor trope to the trivia page.

Should Ascended Meme become trivia? It refers to a creator incorporating meta Memetic Mutation from their work back into their work, much like Ascended Fanon.

Should One-Book Author be trivia? Because I just found this, which seems to be troping the actor...

Film.Aliens:

  • One-Book Author: Carrie Henn, who played Newt, never made another movie. Her parents very wisely invested the money she made from Aliens, and she decided that she didn't want to be an actor and became a teacher. Carrie does make the occasional appearance at conventions though, and she and Sigourney Weaver still keep in contact.

There's this for Trivia.Descendants:

  • Portmanteau Couple Name:
    • The two main are Bal (Ben/Mal) and Devie (Doug/Evie). Others include Jaudrey (Jay/Audrey), Jarlos or Jaylos (Jay/Carlos; the latter is the most commonly used due to Jarlos being taken by the James/Carlos ship from Big Time Rush), and Darlos (Dude/Carlos).
    • Another one that's gaining traction is Choug (Chad/Doug), partially due to their actors (Jedidiah Goodacre and Zachary Gibson) being best friends in real life and partially due to a couple of scenes where Doug ends up holding Chad and vice versa. For that matter, Jackary (Jedidiah/Zachary) has somewhat of a fanbase as well.
    • Huma is used for Harry Hook/Uma from the sequel.
I need to point out that the layout of the Trivia page is pretty terrible in general. It's not alphabetic, it clearly had "spur-of-the-moment" additions that nobody bothered to fix.

Now let's get to the entry itself, which is a YMMV entry that was placed in the Trivia tab for whatever reason. Nevermind that the entry is also rather poorly indented, character pairings just get piled on top of each other in confusing ways.

It doesn't even mention some of the more popular pairings, like Mal/Evie.

[up]That's not really what this thread is for. This thread is where people bring tropes that have not been deemed trivia to discuss having them become identified as trivia, or vice versa.

Should Genre Relaunch be trivia, considering it's pretty much the opposite of Genre-Killer - which is considered trivia.
