[up] They do tend to do that and there have been fanfictions where Lincoln himself accuses it of being the case, such as in What is a Person Worth?.

I noticed the Trivia page has a lengthy Recycled Script entry. The issue is that the trope page refers to when two or more shows share the same pool of writers and tight deadlines cause them to translate scripts from one show to another as a cost cutting measure. The examples listed include ones from shows made years earlier and by completely different writing teams:

  • Recycled Script:
    • The plot of "The Sweet Spot" is similar to the Stuck in the Middle episode "Stuck in the Sweet Seat".
    • The plot of "Undie Pressure" is similar to the Ed, Edd n Eddy episode "All Eds are Off".
    • The plot of "Ties That Bind" is similar to the Muppet Babies episode "Eight Take-Away One Equals Panic" and/or the Powerpuff Girls episode "Little Miss Interprets".
    • The plot for "Changing the Baby" is similar to the Family Guy episode "Peter, Chris, and Brian".
    • The plot for "Making the Case" is similar to the Futurama episode "Attack of the Killer App."
    • The plot for "The Price of Admission" is similar to the Buzz on Maggie episode "The Flyinator".
    • The plot for "One of the Boys" is similar to the Dexter's Laboratory episode "Oh, Brother" and/or the Malcolm in the Middle episode "If Boys Were Girls".
    • The plot for "Party Down" is similar to the SpongeBob episode "Party Pooper Pants".
    • The plot for "Room With a Feud" is similar to the We Bare Bears episode "Rooms" and the Sofia the First episode "Clover Time".
    • The plot for "ARGGH! You For Real?" is similar to the Arthur episode "Buster Isn't Buying It" and/or the Hey Arnold! episode "Eugene Goes Bad".
    • "Potty Mouth" is similar to "Sailor Mouth" from SpongeBob and "Bleep" from Arthur.
    • "The Waiting Game" has a similar plot to "Royal Retreat" from Elena of Avalor .
    • "The Crying Dame" is similar to "I Dream of Jesus" from Family Guy .
    • "Pipe Dreams" is similar to "Serious Business" from Teen Titans Go!.
    • "Shop Girl" is similar to "Walking Small" from SpongeBob and "Putting Your Hoof Down" from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
    • "Game Boys" is similar to "Shell Shock" where someone has to protect something before anything bad happens.
    • "Predict Ability" is highly similar to The Amazing World of Gumball episode "The Hug", as both episodes involve the main characters trying to prove that they aren't predictable.
    • "Power Play" is similar to "The Green House", as both episodes are both trying to conserve energy.
    • "The Boss Maybe" is similar to another Stuck in the Middle episode, "Stuck with a Diaz Down".
    • The Loud House & Casagrandes Hangin' at Home Special is similar to Sesame Street: Elmo's Playdate in that they're both half hour specials meant to help kids and their families cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, without mentioning it in either, and were put together in a pretty short time frame.note

[up] I notice that a lot with Recycled Script. People seem to shoehorn in any works with similar plots as "recycled," even though similar plots showing up in works is, you know, the entire point of this website.

I say nuke anything that clearly isn't from the same writing team.

[down]Well yes, look who added it. tongue

This is on YMMV.The Loud House S 2 E 8 No Such Luck Frog Wild:

  • What An Idiot: When Lincoln refused to go to Lynn’s game she threatened to hit him with her bat.
    • You’d Expect: He’d tell someone immediately like his parents or older sisters.
    • Instead: He doesn’t! And basically the events of this episode happened because Lincoln is such a Extreme Doormat!

At the very least, the latter comment seems like unnecessary complaining.

I agree that's a stretch. If he thought Lynn really was going to hit him, he'd dob her in, but I interpreted as an empty threat and Lincoln knew it was, but he's like, "OK, I'll go, just stop bugging me!".

And does Lincoln usually tattle on his sisters? If not, this is in character for him.

I previously removed a Hate Sink entry on Recap. The Loud House S 1 E 10 Hand Me Downer Sleuth Or Consequences for failing Examples Are Not Arguable, but a different entry for it was added again, worded differently, but using "It’s not impossible to view", which seems like saying it's arguable.

[up]Lincoln's sisters are not consistently meant to be hated. I agree it should be removed.

On a side note, the Reality Ensues entry on the page seems to be misuse so I'll at least cut that.

[down] You wouldn't be breaking the rules if there's consensus to remove it as misuse, but maybe post it in the discussion pages just to be safe.

I was the one who removed the original entry and the other troper was the same one who added the new one. Would it be an edit war on my part if I removed it again? I'm not sure if it already constitutes an edit war since the entry is different.

Edit: Removed it citing this thread.

There are some questionable (and possibly complainy) bits on What An Idiot in YMMV.The Loud House S 2 E 8 No Such Luck Frog Wild:

  • Instead: They just blindly go with Lynn’s lame excuse that she won two further games that Lincoln wasn’t at and thus don’t listen to Lincoln’s explanation. Not only would this easily cost them Lincoln’s love and affection but this would put them in trouble with the law because they are committing the crimes of child neglect and refusing to house one of their own. It’s a wonder neither of these things happen.
  • Instead: They assume the mascot suit is good luck and make Lincoln wear it seemingly everywhere so nothing bad will happen. It never dawns on them whether Lincoln would like this or if he’ll even be safe wearing it. They don’t even seem to realize Lincoln would be at very high risk of getting sick from overheating. At this point, they have such an obsession with superstitions over the well-being of one of their own that Lincoln might as well just leave them for good and find a new family.

[up] I don't even think anything significantly bad happens as a result of Lincoln wearing the mascot suit besides him getting kind of hot, so that can probably be cut.

There's also this on that same YMMV page:

  • Angst? What Angst?: Lincoln being treated like an outcast by his own family, to the point of having to eat and sleep outside, would be incredibly traumatic to any person his age, yet he barely shows indignation or resentment towards this situation, acting with the same amount of outrage you would expect from a kid that was just grounded with no dessert or video games, maybe even less. By the end however, when he’s forced to keep the squirrel suit on for good luck, his exasperated but overall tranquil tone and face make it clear how fed up he is.

[up] I think that might be fair. It's not super complainy IMO, and Lincoln's treatment would be distressing but the show doesn't go into the implications much, which is what Angst? What Angst? is often about.

[up] As for the What An Idiot examples, the Fridge Horror could be deleted, but maybe Rita and Lynn Sr. falling for the excuse could count. Although, Lincoln didn't look or sound that "fed up" at the end of the episode, just resigned.

I found questionable content in YMMV.The Loud House S 2 E 3 Baby Steps Brawl In The Family, specifically in the What An Idiot section:

  • Really Lincoln? You just had to blatantly mention the insults your sisters hide from one another behind their backs?
  • Actually pretty much the entire Loud Family, and Bobby, could qualify. The sisters, for example, do not inform their own brother of the system, thinking it would be of no concern to him, although it is clearly interfering with everyday life and continue to use his possessions as part of the procedure, even though they could easily use anyone’s room and bedsheets. Luna and Luan in particular, despite the rules of butting out, get involved in the conflict after Lincoln has them switch rooms with Lori and Leni. Lola and Lana do not think about the different zones properly, causing a collision and the rest of the girls in general do not work as a team and bother to think anything through. And to top it off, the solution they come up with only works because of Leni’s ditziness. Lori would wear the dress on all days of the week ending in Y. In the end, the whole mess happens due to terrible communication and Insane Troll Logic. And in the end, when all has settled down, they don’t even apologise or feel bad for any of the unnecessary craziness they caused all day, which could very easily cost them Lincoln’s trust and love. It’s a wonder Lincoln’s feelings (apparently) aren’t hurt after all this.
  • Above all, the episode itself could be considered “What an Idiot: The Loud House Edition.”

On the subject of "Brawl in the Family" and What An Idiot, there's this zero-context example for the aforementioned trope in the show's YMMV page:

  • Everyone in “Brawl in the Family” (except maybe Clyde). To make a long story short, see the recap page for said episode.
