Character pages are a large chunk of the wiki, but they're often filled with problems that don't get resolved. These problems include:
- Zero Context Examples
- Indentation problems, including bulleting tropes under supertropes or tropeslashing
- Spoiler tag misuse
- A lack of alphabetization
- Empty character folders
- Plagiarized character descriptions
- Misused tropes, or tropes that don't belong on character pages
- Broken or incorrect formatting
- Subjective / Trivia trope mentions
Per How to Create a Character Page, character pages should only include tropes that describe the characters. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, Unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask about that at Are These Character Tropes.
All characters must have at least one contextualized trope for their section or folder to be visible. If you find a character that has no contextualized tropes present, comment out the entire section and add this tag:

- Inanimate objects and locations on character pages have their own cleanup thread
- Character pages for Reality Show contestants are on-topic here, but there's also a dedicated Reality Show cleanup thread which deals with the No Real Life Examples, Please! grey areas these shows create, and may sometimes be a better place to discuss them.

Okay we need to talk about Avengers Arena and Avengers Undercover as they have a lot of folders for characters that are on other pages. I honestly think we should move all of them and cut the pages. We can put Braddock Academy in Captain Britain’s page and discuss others
Oh and Prodigy has a two folders as well, one in Young Avengers and one in New X-Men: Academy X
Okay, update on the character sheet for The Messenger two posts ago: one of the two ZCE's is now only a partial context example, and the only thing else added is a spoilered-out example.
Thoughts?
Edit: On second read, that PCE might be passible? Unfortunately, I had a I Read That As moment and read "dense" as "this". 🙃

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportCharacters.Contra only has subpages that are too short and have poor examples.
- Characters.Contra The Team: The characters under "Contra Force" is mostly good, but the characters thereafter only have 1~2 examples, zero context examples, or none. 20,262 bytes.
- Characters.Contra Hard Corps: "Contra: Legacy of War/C: The Contra Adventure" has no examples at all and the others aren't that long. 9,476 bytes.
- Characters.Contra Antagonists: Lots of zero context examples and also isn't that long. 14,097 bytes.
With a basic cleanup the whole subpages wouldn't be longer than an average single work character page, so I suggest merging the pages into Characters.Contra. Thoughts?
Back in late August, I proposed a potential page restructuring of the Characters.Gundam page's character sheets (which are currently split into works aside from Char Aznable) akin to other franchise character sheets (i.e. Characters.Marvel Cinematic Universe, Characters.Star Trek and Characters.Star Wars) due to some of them overlapping with each other in multiple series (i.e. Amuro Ray and Bright Noa for the UC works like Gundam and Zeta Gundam, Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne for the CE works like SEED and SEED Destiny, and so on) on the discussion thread.
However, since there's no response at the moment, I'm bringing it up here. Thoughts?
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.I would say yes, go for it. I’ve been thinking of doing something similar regarding Star Trek character page.

I don't know where to post this, but I've decided to take back my initial response on wanting to create a standalone character page for huke's Original Characters.
The Black Rock Shooter franchise as a whole has a lot of Alternate Continuities that clearly distinct from one another in terms of characters, settings, and even medium, with the title character herself having widely different appearances and personalities in each continuity, making it difficult to create a standalone page covering every incarnation of BRS compared to, say, Bdoly from Dragon Ball. That, and the fact that all of my posts about the subject - both on this thread and on ATT - have gotten virtually zero replies.
So instead, I've decided to expand on the pre-existing Character Pages that have been riddled with Zero or Partial-Context Examples, empty folders, and in the case of Dawn Fall, misuse of spoiler tags (considering that the franchise's Character Index Page explicitly said that every spoiler would be unmarked). I might also redirect my own sandbox for the huke Characters to another sandbox.
"The name's Uzume Tennouboshi! Yeah, it's pretty badass, I know." - Uzume, Megadimension Neptunia VIIFollowing up on previous conversations about what does and doesn't warrant a character sheet (e.g. sentient weapons):
MCU: James Rhodes has a separate character sheet and image for each version of the War Machine armor. Is that in line with the guidelines?
Based on a quick skim, I'm not seeing any examples about AI and personality.
Iron Man and Spider-Man’s pages do the same thing. I know there was discussion on whether or not that was allowed but I don’t know if it went anywhere, but it’s at least worth throwing them in here if we’re gonna discuss Rhodey’s page
Characters.Land Of Stars only has two tropes listed, which makes it a stub. I already sent a notifier to the troper who created it about a week ago (quite late considering the page was created in January this year), but I still haven't heard back and the page hasn't changed.
Can I delete the page?
ValdoSo with Fall Of X Kitty Pryde stated everyone is an X-man coupled with that , Madelyne Pryor has started her own X-men and I was wondering if I could count those members as part of X Men2020smembers. We’ve had multiple teams before and we’ve counted characters like Gazing Nightshade who join ed the time displaced team and also members of Scott’s school during the Bendis era as 2010s members. I’d add folders with links for most
I don't know about the Dark X-Men, but as for the "every mutant is an X-Man" and all, I'd say nope, unless it's like Woofer who was said that on-screen. It'd be just be overkill, and we didn't include that when they did that before in say, Utopia.
I’m fine with disregarding Kate’s saying that I’m just saying the X-men team in the title book is not the only X-men team right now. So I was thinking maybe Maddy’s team counts
Characters.Gumby has some ZCEs.
The Character Pages for Mugen Souls and Trillion: God of Destruction are suffering from a similar problem Neptunia used to have, what with the characters being grouped into a single folder instead of creating individual folders for them, examples being misused and/or having little-to-no context (such as Syrma, Alys and Reu being expies of Plutia, Noire and Peashy without any elaboration other than the former two being voiced by Plutia and Noire's VAs), and having descriptions plagiarized from the official website (or no description at all), which is strictly prohibited on this wiki. Should I suggest cleaning up the clatter on these pages?
Also, the character page for the Sega Hard Girls has been cut and the front page for Characters. His Coool Se Ha Girls... is just a piece of text saying "[[redirect:Sega Hard Girls]]", assuming the person who deleted that page forgot to move all of the examples back into the former character page.
"The name's Uzume Tennouboshi! Yeah, it's pretty badass, I know." - Uzume, Megadimension Neptunia VIICrossposting this to the Character-Specific Page page cleanup thread as well:
All of the following pages were locked at the request of the CSP thread, to assist cleanup shortly after the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, as several character-specific pages had been created without going through the usual process.
- Spider-Man: Spider-Verse – The Spider-Gang
- Spider Man Spider Verse Miles Morales
- Spider-Man: Spider-Verse – Gwen Stacy
- Spider-Man: Spider-Verse – Spider-Society
- Spider-Man: Spider-Verse – Miguel O'Hara
- Spider-Man: Spider-Verse – Supporting Characters
- Spider-Man: Spider-Verse – Antagonists
- Spider-Man: Spider-Verse – The Spot
I understand that the sandbox cleanup's stalled a bit, and the edits on the other Spider-Verse pages have also slowed down. We've had queries about whether the pages can now be safely unlocked again.
Any concerns if we do unlock them?
Cross posting:
I still plan to go through the Miles sandbox because I know that one has a lot of non character page tropes. Otherwise I can go either way.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadRe: Sex Education
I think we should consider rearranging the characters into more accurate pages. The current lineup is running on dated information with supplementary info, which doesn't accurately represent Series 4 in my opinion.
As a suggestion, the new arrangement should look like this:
- Main Characters Click to Expand
- Mooredale Click to Expand
- CavendishClick to Expand
- Other Characters
The Codename: Kids Next Door character subpages abbreviate the series name, despite none of the page names running up against the 64-character limit. Should the names be expanded to use the full title?
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I just added a folder to Tacoma FD and it came out all wrong. I need help to fix it because I’m not sure what happened to make it look like that
Never mind I was able to fix it
Any way to salvage this?
Also, the fact that the work page lumps both movies (2011, 2016) together but neglects to mention Michelle Yeoh's character from the sequel in its Character page is a Cardinal Sin
I'm currently making a character page for Jack Jeanne but I encountered a problem in regards to images. I wanted to use the images on the official Jack Jeanne japanese website but I realized that I can't since it's strictly prohibited to copy them. I tried finding images online but no luck finding decent quality, transparent ones.
Edit: Might use the ones on Aksys’s website, if thats fine here.

She/Her | Currently cleaning N/ATaking the discussion about what to do about Characters.Mortal Kombat and Characters.Mortal Kombat 1 here. ATT inquiry
Looks like we're heading towards taking all the tropes from Characters.Mortal Kombat 1 and re-adding them back to each character's respective Video Game page/Character page and separating timelines/eras by folder.
I agree with putting MK 1 tropes in the character specific pages.
The Messenger (2018) was recently created...with one character folder containing two ZCE's. Notifier sent. We'll see if it's fleshed out more in the next few days; I'll send it to the cutlist this weekend if no improvements are made.
