The (admittedly small) character description doesn't say anything about it.
If we wanted to still go with Paper Mario, there's a part in the first game where if Spike is the active partner when you encounter Huff N. Puff, he'll have a specific comment about Spike's betraying him.
Lil Formers could use an upgrade.

Shoot 'Em Up looks a bit blurry, which I believe could be solved by making it the native resolution. Maicchingu Machiko-sensei is also really blurry.
