So, will this trope eventually be removed from Tropes Of Legend, possibly replaced with Parental Bonus or something?

There are plenty of legit Radar examples, but the vast majority of the examples are Parental Bonus, Accidental Innuendo, another similar trope, in adult-oriented works in the first place, or just people seeing stuff that isn't there (like a tree that looks a tiny, tiny bit like a penis if you squint).

Do the video examples or image count as GCPtR? I don't see a radar in any of them, to be honest...

Actually it might be values dissonance but in most non American countries, if someone uses a religious curse that's common in G rated flicks. Hell, Disney thrives on religious symbolism. And a random woman with an exposed nipple in Fantasia. Would that be GCPtR or Parental Bonus?

I only suggested Word of God being mandatory because I feel some things are meant to be sneaky parental bonuses. Plus this is not a YMMV trope.

I think the exposed nipple in Fantasia could count as GCPtR.

Any of these in Radar.Sanjay And Craig count? Only the bathtub example and the last looks like it, but there's no evidence the latter was intentional.

  • The Patel's Ambiguously Gay next-door neighbor is named Leslie Noodman. Just say his last name a few times and let that sink in...
  • Special mention goes to the episode "Partybot" which has at least two robots that dispense things in ways that look like they're pooping.note
  • Also, part of the Remington Tufflips costume is a jock strap from "Going Commando 2".
  • The infamous blink-and-you-miss-it from "Susan Loogie" had the titular characters twerking in a rather bizarre way.
  • Craig can get dark and graphic at times, such as eating animals alive and his made-up description of his experience on Puke's Peak.
  • Pretty much the entire bathtub scene in "Wolfie", where Sanjay and Craig unexpectedly find Hector sharing the tub with the former. Hecter then jumps out of the tub and tells Sanjay to "groom him".
    • Jim Dirschberger once mentioned on his Tumblr that he was surprised that Nickelodeon barley gave any notes on the scene and actually aired it since the episode's original broadcast and subsequent reruns.
  • The episode Brett Venom M.D. has Noodman getting a butt transplant at the end showing off a very risqué scene were the camera focuses on Noodman's butt as he shakes it suggestively while taking Lady Butterscotch out for a walk.
Mr. Noodman: Lookin' good, Noodman! Lookin' good...
  • There are a few instances of Something Else Also Rises when Sanjay interacts with Belle, though sometimes all you hear is a boing sound effect. In the episode "Glad to Be Sad", when he and Craig go to the Frycade and he asks Belle out on a date to the carnival, he doesn't realize initially that she happily accepts, so he plops his face flat onto the table. Craig snaps him out of it and tells him that she said yes; he promptly lifts his head up, and his flattened nose sticks back up accompanied with a boing sound. Later in the episode, while he and Belle are at the carnival, their fingers touch when they both reach for the cotton candy that Belle got for them, accompanied with another boing effect. The same thing happens in "Dangerous Debbie" when Belle sits next to him and mentions that "love happens unexpectedly", to which he replies in agreement, nuzzles up to her hair, and the same sound effect is heard.

Most of them sound like Accidental Innuendo. I don't see how robots pooping or twerking in particular violates their standards.

I think we might have the examples from WesternAnimation.Rock A Doodle looked at:

  • When Hunch breaks into Pinky's aircraft while the good guys are trying to escape, he jumps down from the aircraft's entrance, hangs from a rope and, for a brief second, stares at Goldie's breasts before she slaps him away. Made funnier with Charles Nelson Reilly's signature "Hur hrrrmmm" laugh (and even funnier when one realizes that Reilly was gay).
  • When Goldie sullenly complains that she's too good to be just a chorus girl, Pinky snidely suggests that she could "give up show biz." Whether she's appalled at the general idea or at the, ah, other implications of that suggestion, well...
    • In fact, after Pinky makes that suggestion, Goldie falls to her knees and covers her chest, gasping "Pinky!" with a scandalized expression.
  • "Aah, this is flipping garbage!" Snipes says.
  • Some of the lyrics to the song Rock-a-Doodle, such as "Well, it ain't right to rock alone. It takes two, I do believe. I wanna rock-a-doodle doodle to you (To you). Like you rock-a-doodle doodle to me." Is Chanticleer singing about dancing or...?
  • While The Grand Duke was a tornado, a book flies around and on one of the pages, there is a message that says “Chapter 17, Chocolate Bunnies from He**.
  • The second time the Duke morphs Hunch with his evil breath, after having accidentally sent the heroes down an aqueduct pipe, the shape of his oblong-shaped head has a...... rather unfortunate design. Especially if you view it from the back.

Do these count?

Those all sound like Accidental Innuendo and flipping is a G rated version of fuck but it is in no way meant to be this trope. If anything it sounds like a Parental Bonus.

In an episode of the children's show Little Bear, Father Bear is taking a bath and Little Bear climbs in the bath, then Mother Bear climbs into the bath with her clothes on. This is stated as Radar, but they're related and it wasn't sexual. Is it?

Removing this example on Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair as misuse; the game is already rated M, and saying "cunt" wouldn't make it AO (the Brute Splicer in BioShock 2 said it).

  • In the official English translation, Ibuki says "Girl C? Then I'll 'C' you next Tuesday!" during the trial for the Twilight Syndrome case.

Radar.Inside Out:

Pixar film:

  • A conversation between the emotions has Disgust assuring Fear that "There are no bears in San Francisco", prompting Anger to reply that "I saw a really hairy guy, he looked like a bear."
  • Watch how Riley's dad picks up her mom while they are goofing around after learning about the moving truck delay. He's grabbing her ass.
  • In a deleted scene, Joy and Disgust get in a heated argument over whether Riley should eat a grape that touched the ground. Anger tells the others not to interfere, with a devious look on his face, as he apparently waits for a Cat Fight to erupt.
  • In Riley's mom's flashback, the Brazilian pilot calls her "gatinha". A direct translation isn't vulgar in and of itself (Portuguese slang for "sexy lady", the equivalent of "pussycat" in English) but it's not exactly something you would use casually in an innocent context like a Disney movie.
  • In the German version, they managed to sneak in a curse. At one point in the movie, Anger calls the town San Franschissko instead. That would be the German equivalent of calling the town San Franshitsko.
  • Anger is also very desperate to say some… interesting words at several points in the film.
(When suggesting to skip school) "We should lock the door and scream that curse word we know. It’s a good one!"
(After Joy and Sadness get sucked into Long-Term Memory) "…can I say that curse word, now?"
(At the end of the movie when the emotions' console gets upgraded) "I have access to the entire Curse Word Library! This new console is the—" *Fear presses a button that bleeps him out*
(When Joy looks over the new buttons installed in Riley's mind) "Oh! What's pu-ber-ty?
(At the end of the movie when Joy asks a question regarding their journey with Riley) "After all, Riley's only 12....what could happen?

I don't think any of these fit, except maybe the one about the German dub. I would think saying a hairy person looks like a bear would be kid-appropriate, the second example is probably people seeing stuff that isn't there (and even if that's not the case, true GCTPR is explicit not hidden, so it'd be a Parental Bonus instead), and I have no idea what the third entry is about. Some of the other entries might be Parental Bonus. References to swear words =/= using swear words, and swearing in a foreign language is borderline.

And Radar.Cars:

  • Lightning McQueen gets towed several times by Mater. Each time the tow hook is swung under his bumper, he gets a comical expression of surprise and a squeak of pain.
  • Lizzy has a habit of slapping "Nice Butte" bumper stickers on unsuspecting male...er, bumpers. Each time she does this, it is accompanied by the same surprised squeak.
    • Lizzy also has a line where she tells one of the other cars to move over so that she can "get a look at that sexy hotrod" (referring to Lighting).
  • There was also a scene where a couple of giggling teen girl cars flash their headlights at Lightning (and are immediately accosted by security). Especially notable when you remember what part of a woman's anatomy "headlights" is a euphemism for.
    • The reactions of the press reporters hammer this point home, especially as the male reporters move their cameras from McQueen to the girls.
    • A deleted scene has these two as waitresses at a seedy truck stop Mack stops at on the drive to California. It was marked as a "top-down" truck-stop, with all-convertible waitresses.
  • The ending with the two minivans: "Oh for the love of Chrysler, can we please ask someone for directions?!"
  • After Lightning announces that Doc Hudson won the Piston Cup, Mater exclaims, "He did what in his cup?!" And that was in the trailer.
  • There are several moments near the beginning of the movie, when Lightning makes the appearance for his sponsors. When we first see inside the Rust-eze tent, a pair of Click and Clack-esque spokescarsnote  are performing a comedy set; their routine contains, among other things, a rather obvious Double Entendre:
Dusty: Winter is a grand old time!
Rusty: Of this, there are no ifs or buts!
Dusty: But remember, all that salt and grime...
Rusty: Can rust your bolts and freeze your—
    (Lightning appears)
Dusty: Hey, look! There he is!
    • After Lightning is introduced by the Rust-eze guys, one of the fans in the crowd exclaims, "That race was a pisser!" (No kidding — it's in the actual script.)
  • Shortly after this, Lightning explains that he doesn't need working headlights, because racetracks are always lit; one of the comedians replies, "Yeah, well, so's my brother, but he still needs headlights!"
  • The fact that Rust-eze is a bumper ointment. Considering a Cars anatomy, that's basically anal bleach (or perhaps something like Preparation H). During the commercial, it also says at the bottom of the screen "Results may take up to 36 weeks".
  • There's a scene where Lightning steals a glance at Sally's rear and notices a pinstripe tattoo. She becomes embarrassed and immediately tries to hide it from him (making it clear that it's the car equivalent of a "tramp stamp").
  • In another scene, Lightning bursts into Doc Hudson's office and interrupts a physical exam — getting a view of the Sheriff's exposed undercarriage in the process. The Sheriff angrily barks, "Get a good peek, city boy?" (And later, as Lightning leaves the office, calls out, "Hope you enjoyed the show!")
    • For an added bonus, take note of the position of Doc's examination tools on the Sheriff's undercarriage; evidently Lightning drove in on that universe's equivalent of a rectal exam.
  • "The sixties weren't good for you, were they?"
  • There is a sponsor called "Tow Cap: Hitch Protection". The logo has to be seen to be believed.
  • This gem:
Lightning: I'm a precision instrument of speed and aerodynamics.
    Mater: You hurt your what?
Lightning: I'm a very famous race car!!
  • When Lightning enters the Radiator Springs courtroom, the residents yell various jeers at him. In contrast to some of the other remarks that are louder on the audio track so the audience can hear them, these two seem to fade into the audio's background a bit:
    Fillmore: Fascist!
    Sarge: Commie!

I won't go through all of these, but I don't think any of them are explicit enough to be Radar. A lot of them might be Parental Bonus, others look like Accidental Innuendo or nothing at all. Like the logo one is probably just people thinking everything is a penis.

Exactly. This stuff all passed the ratings board, so it's not GCPTR by definition, unless you are suggesting that Cars was somehow given a pass.

I remember the scene in question quite vividly because the Sheriff had an examination pipe right up his exhaust pipe when McQueen walked in. That's gone past innuendo and firmly into Anal Probing territory.

Most of the Radar.Cars stuff is Parental Bonus, but that one's way past that, imho. I kept wondering how they managed to get it aired.

Edit: The entry as is fails to mention the pipe; it needs to be reworded. Here's the scene in question.

I don't know. To me, it doesn't look like anything that should have been censored, with implications and the on-screen content in mind. Thankfully, I do have the movie on DVD, so maybe I'll load it up and see what the director's commentary has to say.

Found this example here: Radar.Sponge Bob Square Pants

Because of an animation error in "Tea at the Treedome", SpongeBob is seen holding up his middle finger instead of his pinky as Patrick is giving him a lesson on how to be fancy.

I think it doesn't apply because there's no purposeful effort to get the crap past the radar.
