This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

agreed on the jeff abbott quote
someone mentioned on another thread that the quote for Omnipresent Tropes is way too long. could it be trimmed down to just this?
Trim it down.
A Magic Contract Comes with a Kiss doesn't sufficiently demonstrate that the kiss comes with a magical contract.
Hi, I noticed Distinguishing Mark and Birthmark of Destiny miss a quote, may I add these (if you think they're good)?
this one above for Distinguishing Mark and the one below for Birthmark of Destiny
Add them.
I think Long-Runners has way too long of a quote, and it's from an obscure no-name online Caustic Critic to boot.
Looking through the page history, it seems the original quote was this before it was unilaterally changed:
709 episodes ago:
I think that's a better option out of the two. Looking through the quotes page, I also like this quote from The Simpsons:
The length of the current quote kinda seems to be the point of it, since it's meant to parallel the length of the Long-Runners. Changing without discussion is a don't, but we do like it over the old one.
wouldn't exactly call Austin McConnell a Caustic Critic either but that's beside the point
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Still, I'd rather go with the Simpsons quote, to be honest.
I actually like the Doctor Who quote best. As someone who's fallen behind on the series, that actually made me laugh.
Count me as someone who also prefers the Doctor Who quote.
I like the Doctor Who quote as well.
Suggestion for Brutish Bulls:

Sorry, I shouldn't have changed it without discussion. I chose it because Officer Barbrady was patronizing Cartman, which shows how oblivious Cartman is.
Check out my forum game: Rate the above YMMV.Band Wagon Technique has two quotes.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢The newer "proverb" feels like it was put there because someone wanted to be crude for the sake of being crude. I'd remove that one.
SoundCloudYeah, cut the second one.
back lolThe quotes for Slipped the Ropes and Escape Artist are identical.
And if you're feeling déjà vu about that, you are right: we already discussed this, and changed the quote on Slipped the Ropes by one from Roger Rabbit. Problem, this same quote was also on Rule of Funny already, and thus a troper changed it back on Slipped the Ropes. So we're back to square one.
Any suggestion?
Maybe use the one from the Quotes subpage?
The quote on Gayborhood only alludes to the trope, and I use the term "alludes" very loosely.
SoundCloudThe quote for Straight Gay was changed from this:
Glenn: But you're so... blah.
to this:
It took me a bit to wrap my head around exactly how this quote was supposed to exhibit the trope but then I realized this is a better example of The Beard (pretends to have girlfriend to stay in the closet) or Transparent Closet.
The trope doesn’t require anyone to be closeted, but rather exhibit stereotypical “straight behavior”. I think using this as the page quote would be nonindicative of the trope’s actual meaning.
That said, I thought the previous Superstore quote was only just ok. Still, I couldn’t find any effective quotes on the quotes page that weren’t too long or described sexual acts (which I’m personally fine with, but I’m guessing wouldn’t be appropriate for a page quote). So, I vote for reverting to the old one unless anyone else has a better idea.
EDIT: I actually have a suggestion; a trimmed down version of a quote from the quotes page.
Steve: But how? You're the biggest fratboy dudebro I've ever met. You say things like "broseph" and "chillax", you're crude, you're FAT! How can you be gay?
I think it’s funny he thinks being fat is a straight thing but that part might distract from the trope idk, I guess there’s still Superstore

The suggestion or the Superstore one would be fine with me. Current is really unclear.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. It's not even an example; the joke is that Zarbon is Camp Straight iirc. I think your suggestion is good. The Superstore one is funny, but I don't think it gets the trope across as well.

Fangs of the relentless thousandI second that. The first example is meaningless to me because I don't know the work — it therefore almost comes across as an insult, which may not be the case in context, but there's no context here to help.
The new suggestion (Cheer Up Emo Kid) is a good one. I also don't know this work, but the quote is extremely clear that the one character can't wrap his head around the idea that gay people don't have to conform to stereotypes. I don't think the fat reference is a problem because it's clearly a reference to the stereotype that gay men spend all their time in gyms.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
Looks good to me.
I like the Jeff Abbott quote for Obliviously Evil.
