Fixing zero context examples

I think it's fine with this ATT. Also I've forgot to bring attention to it but their Serial Killer example is full word cruft so this context need to be removed as well.

Just stumbled across Funny.Chicken Pika. It looks like nearly the entire page is just...random quotes? That doesn't count as context, correct?

It looks like some of the people who added quotes recently might still be active, so I'll probably send notifiers before doing anything else. Still just wanted to confirm, considering how large the page is.

Ok, though what about the Supporting Protagonist entry? I'm asking because that post was closer to being about the Only Sane Man one instead of both entries.

You are correct. Quotes alone are not sufficient context.

I was referring to all ZCE on page, they need to be commented out out of principle.

Here's an edit I made on Dhar Mann:

• Butt-Monkey : Mikey suffered various punishments and consequences due to his scheming. His parents seem to favor his brother Jayden over him, his teachers force him to do more work than needed when he's in trouble, and even his friends and classmates seem to dislike him. It even reaches the point where the entire world appears to hate him after he cheated in Gamer Caught CHEATING.

Is this a good example? ^note Also let me know if I wrote this before.

Enchanted looks real easy to get to 3 tropes. Days Of The Week Theme Naming, whatever that's called, and Family Theme Naming, and Massive Numbered Siblings just from the description, so don't cut without storing it in a Sandbox, please?

Bigger issue is that it needs disambig renaming due to clash with the movie.

Do you mean to post in this thread. This is a cleanup thread, it's not for checking the validity of the examples you've written.

That said, your example has context, but... I'd question the concept of Dhar Mann having any continuity between the stories rather than just using the same actors and characters occasionally, and since I know that Mikey is also always the "one doing wrong" isn't more like Karmic Butt-Monkey?

Seconded. While I think that person was just trying to see if that entry had enough context, I feel the "Is this an example?" thread is more fitting. I also agree that Karmic Butt-Monkey appears to be a better fit.

i commented out all the ZCEs on Literature.Enchanted, leaving "Day of the Week" Name, Fairy Tale Free-for-All, and The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything, as all seem to have enough context. so the page seems safe for now, ~Tropers/Malady.

e: goddamn punctuation bug. oh well, they'll probably see this.

Film.Eating Out: Only two visible tropes, every-trope else is commented out, so it's a cut candidate. Anyone got a reason to not put it on the List?

Even those two are marginal, at best.

Was able to crosswick context for No Bisexuals. Looks like some tropes should be addable from the description, too. I'll see about getting to that later.

...well, the pages are made by relative newcomer called Mercat6, so no surprise about the quality. Still, are the pages in "decent" enough condition to keep?

I think The Mantis In The Mix has three... The others, not so much.

Literature.The Beasts Of Clawstone Castle is a bit of a mess. I've found proper context for 3, with a fourth perhaps marginal. Added to Pages Needing Example Context and commented out the ZCE...

Is Dubloon salvageable?

So I found Terrible Writing Advice, where pretty much every tropes listed is ZCE. It's formatted as Episode Title: *list of tropes that is featured in the particular episode*, and none of the items mentioned have any context whatsoever.

I wouldn't even call that a real attempt at a trope list, just really bad episode summary style?

Plenty of recap pages don't have trope lists anyway.

Encountered Literature.Magic Time. The sheer amount of ZCE's is concerning.

Does this example from The Hexer have sufficent context? If not, I'll comment it out once I finish crosswicking the work.

- I'd comment them out so people know the source so it's easier to confirm or deny existence.

At least there's a few that are accidentally better, like The Perfectionist.

The Characters page, I just realized it exists, might also provide good context for work page tropes.
