Do you own any pets?
Attack of the Clones is not a good movie at all, sure, but even the bad Star Wars movies still have that excellent score that keeps you from being bored.
What was a good thing that happened to you last year?
It's been 3000 years…I completed my online course in web dev and got my certificate just before the year ended! Was worth hiding from the rest of TVT for two months!
On that topic, you have hopes for this year?
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"Yes: a general strike and a second American Revolution (hopefully one that's not as violent as the first), but I'm not holding my breath for either of these things.
On a pettier note, I hope that Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure ends up being a great sub-series; so this is something I always know to look forward to at the end of every terrible week.
What's a work you know with an uninteresting premise that ended up absolutely amazing in almost every other regard?
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.Ace Attorney. It took me years after I first heard of the games to actually try them out because I thought a game about lawyers sounded boring. But when I first watched my brother play part of the second game, and then later when I played them myself, I immediately fell in love with it. Every character is awesome, the games are fun to play, each episode has twists that will keep surprising you until the end, and the soundtracks are some of the best I've ever heard.
What's the worst character design you've ever seen?
A great Mascot Mook.Y'all remember Problem Solverz? Bet you don't. It was... awful. Any of those characters qualifies. I considered some of [AS]'s work from the "Specifically Shitty" era but I don't even think most of that counts because like even 8 Oz Mouse and King Star King had an aesthetic that didn't hurt to look at neutrally. May well have been offputting, but the Problem Solverz had weird textures and high high high saturation and just general ick.
What's the passion of yours that you never want to turn into a career for fear of burnout? Like you love it so much that you don't want to endanger that love by forcibly tying it to your 24/7 survival
Don't think I have any passions like that. I have hobbies yes but most are just small-time hobbies and as such never even crossed my mind to make a career of them. The one that I'm most passionate about (video games) is the one that I seek to have as a job one day, so there's that. It helps that I don't wish to go by deadlines as I'm aware that meeting deadlines isn't always a good thing, as if you rush a product it'll show in the final product. What it says for the entry for Christmas Rushed pretty much sums it up.
As someone who's just returned to TV Tropes after a hiatus, what's the Murdergames? Been meaning to ask that as they weren't around when I went on my hiatus.

The League of HeroesI only got into them recently, and by that I mean only, like, two of them. Murdergames tend to share the idea of being play-by-post social deduction games, where each player is given roles. The good and evil roles are most crucial to the games, and some neutral roles may be thrown in too. It is in the evil guys' objective to take out all the good guys or basically everyone other than themselves, they're usually given the chance to strike at "night" by sending a PM to the game host. Others who have roles that have night actions also send in their actions during the "night". In the day time there may be a trial session when someone dies. It is up to those still alive to piece whatever evidence there is together and vote who they think did the crime. Should all the bad guys get voted out, the good guys win.
Oftentimes I may peek at other murdergames I'm not part of so that I have an idea of what to do
What work coming out in 2021 are you most looking forward to?
My answer's a bit obvious in my avatar, it's Mechamato.

and i guess uhhh the new chapter of Ciconia: When They Cry should probably come out this year
What was your favorite work from last year?
I waited for Soul because it kept getting delayed due to the pandemic, and when it finally came out, it was worth it! Great characters, an ethereal score by Nine Inch Nails along with the jazz music by Jon Batiste, and wonderful message about living life to the fullest!
As a counterpoint to what GC said a few posts up, do you think that not setting deadlines has its downsides? For me, it depends on the project, but it's ultimately your responsibility to finish it, with or without deadlines.
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"It may make you less motivated to finish, yes, but it lets you work at your own pace and fine-tune what you want to.
If you could have any person narrate your life, who would it be?
For me? Michael Angelis.

I do — I listen to a lot of pop, so I regularly go on stuff like BBC Live Lounge for fresh interpretations. I also listen to instrumental covers of pop songs as work BGM.

If you have any interest in superhero comics, Kingdom Come is a good deconstruction of the '90s Anti-Hero trend that was inadvertently started by Watchmen and other books. It also simultaneously reconstructs the more idealistic Golden and Silver Ages of comics.
