Hey, it wouldn't be Terraria without 'em.

  • There are so many references to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance that the mod is outright infamous for them.
    • The first new difficulty introduced by the mod is outright called Revengeance Mode, with the Rage and Adrenaline mechanics taking inspiration from the Zandatsu/Ripper Mode systems from the game in question.
    • You can find Sam's HF Murasama (deliberate mispelling retained) in an Underworld Chest (although it's sheathed until you beat Yharon unless you trigger an Easter Egg). The tooltip is taken directly from the lyrics of Sam's theme song.
    • One of the developer swords is called the Red Sun with the tooltip, "Over paradise", the name and one lyric respectively from Sundowner's theme song.
    • A broadsword that can be dropped by the Devourer of Gods is called Excelsus, named after the Metal Gear model that is the penultimate boss. Two of them are also required to make the Flamsteed Ring (which summons a Humongous Mecha), referencing MG Excelsus' signature twin raptorial blades.
    • The Exo Mechs drop an accessory called Draedon's Heart, with the tooltip "Nanomachines, son", an allusion to both Senator Armstrong's memetic quote and his nanomachine-laced heart. The Heart even allows you to charge up nanomachines of your own to heal yourself, similar to how Armstrong does in his battle.
    • Demonshade Armor's enrage mechanic is similar to the one used by Jetstream Sam in his DLC, where he can taunt enemies to make them take bonus damage at the cost of increasing their aggression.
    • The custom boss health bar is even stylized like Revengeance's.
  • Several to Dark Souls:
    • The Storm Ruler, a sword that can be made just before the fight against the Moon Lord, is a nod to a sword of the same name from Demon's Souls and Dark Souls III.
    • Gael's Greatsword, in name, tooltip ("Hand it over, that thing. Your dark soul."), and function (the sword shoots bloody skulls like the ones Gael shoots in his boss fight), is a reference to the eponymous Slave Knight Gael from Dark Souls III.
    • The Lifehunt Scythe and Essence of Eleum are both named after a weapon and location from the series respectively.
    • The Nadir fires projectiles modeled after the Humanity Phantoms from the first game.
  • One of the mod's developer weapons is simply Soma Prime from Warframe, complete with special rounds that cause severe bleeding, true to the stats of the original weapon. A later update also added the Rubico Prime.
  • A developer weapon upgrade to the Terragrim is called the Devil's Sunrise, a reference to the weapon of the same name from the Epic Battle Fantasy series, which in turn, is a reference to the weapon of the same name from MapleStory.
  • The "Ice Barrage", a post-Moon Lord developer weapon, is named after and functions like the spell of the same name from RuneScape, complete with the original sound effect, and the tooltip comes with the message for dying in RuneScape ("Oh dear, you are dead!"). The weapon also uses Blood Runes as ammunition, much like casting the spell in RuneScape.
  • The Karasawa laser rifle post-Moon Lord developer weapon is named after the same weapon from the Armored Core series, complete with insane firepower and heavy weight (as stated in the tooltip).
  • The "Halibut Cannon" developer weapon is dedicated to the late TotalBiscuit, formerly known as TotalHalibut, hence the appearance of a monocle and top hat on the weapon.
  • Several to the Touhou Project games:
    • Several obtainable weapons include the dev-tier "Scarlet Devil", a dead ringer for Remilia's "Spear The Gungnir", which the tooltip even namedrops, the "Dark Spark", an upgrade to the Last Prism that is a reference to Marisa's signature Master Spark (specifically its corrupted variation seen in Touhou Kishinjou ~ Double Dealing Character), and the Pristine Fury, a Providence drop that references Junko and her similar motif of purifying flames.
    • The Fantasy Talismans are throwing weapons that resemble those used by Reimu, lack of absurd homing abilities nonwithstanding.
    • Two obtainable spell tomes are the Event Horizon, which attacks in a similar manner to Marisa's spell card of the same name, and the Recitation of the Beast, a dead ringer for the Devil's Recitation used by Byakuren and Shinki.
    • A later version also added the Resurrection Butterfly, a summon weapon based on Yuyuko's spell card of the same name.
    • An even later version added a Bandit NPC who sometimes uses the quote "It's not stealing! I'm just borrowing it until I die!". For bonus points, one of her possible names is Marisa. Two other possible names for the bandit are Maribel and Hearn, likely a reference to Maribel Hearn.
    • The Hermit's Box of One Hundred Medicines, a Hardmode pet accessory dropped by the Wall of Flesh which summons a snake, is a reference to Kasen Ibaraki, who is also seen with a snake as one of her pets. The tooltip ("Eh? No way it's an oni.") references Kasen's constant attempts to deny her identity as an oni.
    • There's also a post-Moon Lord spiky ball called Hell's Sun, referencing Utsuho- the tooltip even name drops one of Utsuho's spell cards, Subterranean Sun.
  • Several to Bloons Tower Defense:
    • The MOAB accessory, which gives you a smaller version of the series' namesake to jump around with.
    • The Monkey Darts that the Bandit sells are a reference to the Dart Monkeys, with the Stealth Strike throwing 3 darts like a Dart Monkey with the Triple Darts upgrade.
    • Additionally, the Glaive and Kylie are two weapons sold by the Bandit that resembles the likes of the those used by the Boomerang Monkey's upgrades.
  • The Utensil Poker, an added drop from the Moon Lord, references the weapon of the same name from Chicken Invaders.
    • A later update added a craftable upgrade to the Utensil Poker called the Seared Pan, a reference to Undertale's Burnt Pan, complete with similar sound effects and animations, as well as replicating the Burnt Pan's 4-hit combo by throwing a stronger golden pan after landing three consecutive hits.
  • One of the Ravager's drops, the Spikecrag Staff, summons Spikecrags that are a reference to the Spikerocks in Plants vs. Zombies, with them looking like Ravager-themed counterparts of the original plant.
  • The Omega Blue armor, in name, appearance, and function, is a clever allusion to the X-Men villain Omega Red, with Combat Tentacles for a set bonus, which can drain HP from nearby enemies, although the armor also removes your regen stat entirely, a nod to Omega Red's Power Incontinence.
  • The Lion Heart broadsword sold by the Cyborg after the defeat of Polterghast is a reference to the gunblade of the same name from Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy XIV, complete with its sprite resembling the former game's incarnation, and its right click replicating the latter game's Superbolide skill by halving all damage taken.
  • The Temporal Umbrella summons a magic hat that "carries your soul, bounded by a contract", according to the buff text, and mentions in the tooltip that "this could defeat the Mafia in a single blow", all references to A Hat in Time.
  • The Triboluminescent Etomer summons a Rotom, which even changes form based on the biome the player is currently in.
  • The Glorious End is for all intents and purposes a Warp Star (with the item resembling the Star Rod) that the player can ride and crash into enemies with. As an added bonus, it drops from an enemy in the Astral Infection named the Nova.
  • The Cinders of Lament summon hostile husks of Calamitas' brothers who will charge at you but also deal colossal damage to all foes in their path, resembling the playstyle of Tainted Jacob in The Binding of Isaac.
  • The Cosmic Viper Engine summons a cosmic gunship that shoots multiple varieties of missiles, a reference to the Vic Viper from Gradius.
  • The Flamsteed Ring, in addition to its aformentioned reference to Revengeance, also contains several references to Homestuck:
    • The ring itself is designed after a ring owned by Jack Noir, and Andromeda can also use a sword similarly named to and designed like the Regisword also owned by Noir.
    • At the end of the Jet transformation, Andromeda emits a spirograph-shaped firework, referencing Homestuck's repeated motif of spirographs, as seen in the Gates and The Reckoning.
    • The tooltip states: "Now, make them pay."
  • Midas Prime, a Hardmode drop from Pirate Deadeyes, allows you to toss up to four coins with its alt-fire to ricochet your next shot off of and significantly boost damage in a similar fashion to ULTRAKILL's Marksman Revolver. Naming your character "Mirage", "V1", or "V2" will also briefly play Minos Prime's theme upon hitting a coin, and continuously hitting coins allows you to keep the theme going uninterrupted.
  • One of the Shadowspec-tier developer weapons is essentially Pinkie Pie's Rainbow Party Cannon, complete with firing fireworks that explode into patterns resembling the Mane 6's (and Starlight Glimmer's) Cutie Marks. The tooltip is also a direct excerpt from "Let The Rainbow Remind You".
  • One of the final Encrypted Schematic items is a ranged weapon called the Anomaly's Nanogun, lifted directly from Iji. Its primary fire is a direct copy of Iji's Plasma Cannon weapon, and its secondary fire is a direct copy of the MPFB Devastator.
