Bond's Strategy to Stay Alive
Bond has a premotion of his death believing that the researchers that experimented on him have found him and want to kill him for running away, meanwhile, Yor tells Anya to go study. However, as he wants to say his farewell to Anya she tells him she needs to study and can't play with him. Since Loid is working, late, Yor says she'll follow his recipe and make dinner, and Bond has another premonition that he'll die from Yor's awful cooking. When he plans to simply not eat her cooking, he visualizes Yor killing him for being a disobedient dog, he runs out of the house to bring Loid back as soon as possible. When Bond tracks down Loid, Loid tells Bond to go home, but Bond instead opts to help Loid accomplish his mission to steal a secret formula, and get him home to make dinner.

Damian's Field Research Trip
Damian has been losing sleep due to staying up late studying so that he'll become an Imperial Scholar, and make his father proud. While the other students who live in the dorm are taken out by a chaperone, Damian opts to stay behind and do chores so that he'll earn a stella for his hard work. Emile and Ewen stay behind, but after they get in trouble for playing, Mr. Henderson punishes the boys by being taken to a research trip led by Mr. Green, Eden College's custos. Mr. Green takes them to the forest, where they go camping, and while Damian is at first reluctant because he can't waste time not studying, he comes to enjoy himself, and even writes Mr. Green a thank you note.

"Bond's Strategy to Stay Alive"

  • Black Comedy Pet Death: Bond doesn't die, but his premonitions of his death are humorous, particularly when he visualizes Yor killing him either from her cooking, or for being a disobedient dog.
  • Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick: When he notices that his has a vision in black, Bond tries to speculate what it can mean. First he thinks it's him playing hide-and-seek, the second is because the power will go out, the third is Yor putting a blindfold on him for a surprise, and the fourth is the return of the heartless scientist who wants to kill him.
  • Call-Back: Bond's first premonition of his death featured the scientists that experimented on him tracking him down and killing him.
  • Cutting the Knot: As Loid infiltrates the lab where the secret formula he's been tasked to steal is, he tapes a note on the safe where the vials are store, saying the formula's been taken. As the researchers open the safe and see the contents in place, Loid, who didn't have to crack said safe, rushes them from behind and with the help of Bond, takes down the researchers and security, take the formula, and go home for dinner
  • Day in the Limelight: Although all the Forgers are featured, the main focus is Bond helping Loid on his mission so that the latter will get home on time and make dinner so that the former won't die from Yor's awful cooking.
  • The Determinator: Bond makes it his mission to find Loid and bring him home so that he'll make dinner instead of Yor.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Bond genuinely believes that Yor will kill him for not eating her food or for eating outside food.
  • Drama-Preserving Handicap: Because Sylvia didn't give him time to do sufficient research on the medical facility, Loid will have to break in using the old-fashioned way instead of using a potential disguise.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Bond succeeds in finding Loid and helping him complete his mission of stealing the truth serum. As a reward for his service, Loid promises to make him a delicious meal which is what the dog was after all along.
  • Imagine Spot: Bond's premonition of his death, and Loid going to work he visualizes him hunting animals with a spear.
  • It's Personal: Loid speculates that Bond found the research facility because he wants to avenge the other dogs who were experimented on and lost their lives. However, he really just fears having to eat Yor's cooking.
  • Lethal Chef: Bond visualizes himself dying from eating Yor's cooking.
  • Shout-Out: Bond briefly dances like Snoopy when trying to get Yor's attention.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: Loid assumes that Bond was able to track him because he knew the location of the research facility where he was experimented on and wants revenge. Bond rolls with it just so Loid can let him stay and so he can help finish his mission.
  • Time-Passes Montage: A montage is shown of Bond navigating the city in an attempt to find Loid and possible food.
  • Winged Soul Flies Off at Death: In Bondman's Imagine Spot early on he sees himself being killed by the scientist who raised him in the lab. His soul lifts from his body and is dragged to the heavens by three angels.

"Damian's Field Research Trip"

  • An Aesop: Hard work and dedication are important, but so is learning to relax and enjoy the world around you.
  • Big Eater: The episode constantly reminds you that Emilie, the fattest of Damian's friends, loves food and eating.
  • Book Ends: The story starts and ends with Damian lying in bed.
  • Boarding School: The first half of this skit shows the three boys' day off in Eden's dormitories.
  • Call-Back: Damian justifies his lack of rest and studying late into the night, by remembering Donovan saying: "well done, keep going and make the family name proud."
  • Day in the Limelight: The Forgers are completely absent, with the segment focusing on Damian being on the brink of physical and psychological collapse from studying late into the night to earn more Stella to impress his father, and Mr. Henderson "punishing" the boys by making them go on a camping trip with Mr. Green.
  • Exhausted Eye Bags: Damian sports these in this episode, due to him sleeping very little to study.
  • Good-Times Montage: The field trip in the forest is captured in a couple of key shots of the boys doing various boyscout tasks.
  • Inevitable Waterfall: When the boys go canoe, they eventually face a waterfall that leads to Damian going overboard.
  • Iris Out: The last scene of Damian falling asleep in his bed ends with an Iris Out effect.
  • Powerful and Helpless: The three clowns openly shout their fancy titles and prestigious family backgrounds when they believe that they're drowning in the river.
  • Retired Badass: Mr. Green mentions that he used to serve in the navy before finding employment at Eden's Garden.
  • Scenery Porn: When Mr. Green takes the boys on a nighttime hike to "Stella Lake," since they are far from the bright lights of the city, they all stare in awe at the sight sky filled with stars, which culminates with the Milky Way being reflected on the lake's surface.
  • Self-Care Epiphany: As night approaches, Damian, Emile, Ewen, and Mr. Green sit around a fire cooking the fish they caught, Damian laments that he's wasting time in the woods instead of being back at the dorm studying. He eventually changes his mind when Mr. Green tells him that relaxing and having fun is just as important as hard work, and finally lets himself rest when seeing "Stella Lake".
  • Shout-Out: A couple of schoolboys are interested in a movie called Twenty Thousand ''Steps'' Under the Sea.
  • Sneeze Cut: The skit ends with this: after reviewing the boys' report with Mr. Green, Mr. Henderson suggested that Damian's spelling needs work. Damian, who's sleeping, sneezes.
  • Stop Drowning and Stand Up: After Damian falls into the water, his coat-riding stooges follow suit and believe that they're drowning. Mr. Green assures them that the river they're on is shallow enough for them to stand.
  • True Companions: As a chaperone takes a group of boys that live in the dormitory to a movie, Damian stays behind and does laundry because he was punished by Henderson for waking up late, and, mentally, chastises the group for having fun, instead of doing their chores and studying. Since Damian stays behind to catch up on his laundry, Ewen and Emile decide to stay and keep him company, and all three boys go on the trip into the woods with Mr. Green.
  • Unishment: Henderson punishes the boys for messing around during laundry by making them accompany Mr. Green on a research trip into the woods, which is actually a camping trip meant to help Damian take a break from studying.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Damian's motivation for studying until late at night is to earn more Stella, so that his father will praise him again.
  • The Workaholic: The downside of wanting to be praised by his grim father is that Damian has begun to neglect his sleep so he can study for long hours into the night. And even as he's punished with chores, he treats it as a good thing instead of "wasting his time" doing fun stuff like other boys do.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Damian is terrified of worms and his coat-riding compatriots chase him around using worms.
