Years after the end of the world, two girls tour the ruins of Japan.

World's End Touring (Shuumatsu Touring) is a post apocalyptic manga by Sakai Saitou. It focuses on sightseeing of dilapidated ruins of Japan after unspecified natural disaster. The manga is runing from September 2020 and still ongoing.

World's End Touring contains examples of:

  • Action Girl: When push comes to shove, the heroines can look after themselves in many harrowing situations. Justified as there's noone else to look after them.
  • After the End: The basic premise of this manga is traveling the Earth after it suffered some undetermined natural disaster.
  • Always a Bigger Fish: Yohko's fishing in 2nd chapter is rendered moot by a shark chomping her catch. Later the shark is killed by a massive orca (though orca is not a fish).
  • All Is Well That Ends Well: After a harrowing escape from a thunderstorm Youko is completely unbothered by the experience and even remarks it was fun.
  • Arm Cannon: Being a cyborg Airi can reassemble her right arm into a Plasma Cannon.
  • Banister Slide: A variation is used in the escape from a Swarm of Rats in Umihotaru shopping arcade. Airi slides backwards down astride escalator handrail while Yohko uses a torn metallic plate as a makeshift skateboard.
  • Beach Episode: Chapter 5 is closest to what would you call one, where the girls decide to take a dip at the flooded Tokyo Big Sight.
  • Bland-Name Product: On her phone Yohko views photos hosted on Touringram.
  • Boyish Short Hair: Yohko has short hair to emphasize her outgoing carefree nature.
  • Brats with Slingshots: Airi uses a slingshot in combat with a swarm of rats in Umihotaru. While it makes sense, since using her overkill Plasma Cannon in close quarters would be too dangerous.
  • Cheeky Mouth: Whenever viewed from profile, the girls' mouths are drawn on the side of their faces.
  • Cyborg:
    • Airi doesn't seem to be quite human as in the first chapter she briefly reassembles her arm into a plasma cannon.
    • In the very next chapter she stumbles upon a seemingly robot without its lower half. It soon turns out to be a person transferred into a cybernetic via Brain Uploading.
  • Darkest Hour: Umihotaru arc. After narrowly escaping a thunderstorm the girls find themseves pursued by an immense swarm of starved rats. In their attempt of getting away they start an underground fire from a spilled fuel in a parking lot. This only briefly scares the rats away before they return to their pursuit. Just before they almost get the girls, the gas tank in the parking lot blows up ejecting everyone outside and nearly killing the heroines. And when Youko begins to muse on how they got away safely, Airi suddenly stops responding.
  • Eating Machine: Airi may be a Cyborg but that doesn't deter her from enjoying any meals the girls get their hands on.
  • Exposition: Chapter 9 provides short guide on how to properly replace a punctured tire on a motorbike.
  • Faceplant: To prevent Yohko from wading into potentially dangerous waters Airi, grabs her by her ankle resulting in Yohko plummeting face-first on the ground.
  • Finger-Suck Healing: In 9th Chapter Yohko does this to herself when she injures her index finger while changing a punctured tire.
  • Foreshadowing: Towards the end of Chapter 8, the Nagareyama area goes quiet and shortly after, the fish in nearby river start panicking. Yohko mentions, she has a really bad feeling. Cue a massive storm hiting the area in the following chapter.
  • It's Quiet… Too Quiet: At the end of 8th Chapter the environment suddenly goes silent. Then the fish in the nearest river go completely crazy jumping out of water. In the next chapter a massive storm hits the area.
  • Monstrous Cannibalism: The Swarm of Rats in Umihotaru is so starved, that when the heroines kill one of them, the rest of the rodents vigorously jump at the corpse and gob it up.
  • Mood Whiplash: The first chapters are lighthearted focused on just having fun. Then a series of disasters in Umihotaru nearly gets the heroines killed.
  • No Last Name Given: The heroines' family names aren't mentioned anywhere in the story.
  • Scenery Porn: The manga often reveres in detailed diplays of the environment gone asunder.
  • School Swimsuit: Airi is a young child and thus wears such swimsuit since there's nothing else availiable for her.
  • Shout-Out: In 10th Chapter Airi shoots a rat using a slingshot. The ammo? A Y1000 coin.
  • Skewed Priorities:
    • Even during torrential downpours Yohko hates wearing raincoats. The most prominent reason? They're not cute.
    • Even after a spilled gasoline catches fire in the Umihotaru parking lot, the Swarm of Rats is only briefly scared away before returning to relentless pursuit of the heroines.
  • Slice of Life: Despite taking place in a dilapidated post-apocalyptic world, the manga mostly focuses on the girls exploring various places and having mindless fun. Then comes the Umihotaru arc.
  • Squee: As a Genki Girl, Yohko is prone to squeeing in joy quite often. One of the notable examples is her encountering a flock of penguins.
  • The Stoic: Airi can face anything without breaking her pokerface.
  • Super-Persistent Predator: Not even a massive fire from a spilled gasoline discourages the rats from chasing after Yohko and Airi.
  • Swarm of Rats: While exploring the shopping arcade in Umihotaru, the heroines are suddenly ambushed by a massive swarm of very hungry rodents.
  • Wasn't That Fun?: After struugling their way through a disastrous thunderstorm Yohko remarks it was a fun experience.
