    Season 1

  • In Season 1, Episode 10:
    • Rikka, working out her feelings for Yuuta, silently hugs Dekomori, causing her brain to wildly speculate if Rikka loves her or not. She then says "Master, You musn't" and rambles on about forbidden relationships and how they're so stimulating. (It's quite obvious Dekomori in some way desires Rikka).
      • To her credit, Dekomori snaps out of it when Rikka tells her how she loves Yuuta and helps prepare her with a "magic" stone.
    • While both Yuuta and Rikka inform their friends, Isshiki and Dekomori respectively, about their feelings for each other, each friend tries to end the scene by laying on their shoulder. Rikka accepts Dekomori's lean, while Yuuta quickly shoves Isshiki off and gives a very "no homo"-type reaction.
  • In Season 1, Episode 13 (OVA)
    • A minute in, Dekomori, while napping under a kotasu, squirms and says "Master... You musn't..." with a goofy grin, obviously having an erotic dream. (Echoing Episode 10).
    • Following the end of the Christmas Party, Yuuta carries a tired, mildly drunk Rikka home. This prompts Dekomori to breakdown and cry to Shinka about how she's losing her Master to Yuuta and Shinka herself to lack of caring. Shinka kneels down and wipes the tears from Dekomori's eyes, reassuring her.
    • Shinka and Dekomori share an Accidental Kiss at the end. Apparently the Unresolved Sexual Tension is so strong between the two it's lampshaded hard by Yuuta and Isshiki.

    Season 2

  • In Season 2, Episode 4: Shinka is running for Student Council President, being antagonized by Dekomori, until Shichimiya reveals Shinka is the true Morisummer. Fangirl ensues.
    • The normally aggressive, hostile, and dismissive Dekomori becomes submissive, sweet, and helpful toward Shinka, massively boosting her campaign and polling numbers.
    • Dekomori's allegiance to Rikka as her "Master" begins to waver and she refuses her order to help Shinka with a campaign meeting.
    • Shinka even invites Dekomori over to her house. After seeing Sanae baked her intricately-decorated cookies (in her likeness as Morisummer), Nibutani expresses gratitude for everything by donning her Morisummer outfit for her. The result is crying Tears of Joy. Shinka even allows her to take a picture of her, which comes back to bite her.
  • In Season 2, Episode 5: Rikka is jealous when Shichimiya once again playfully presses her nose against Yuuta's. Then Shichimiya does the same thing to Rikka, which seems to fluster her even more than when she did it to Yuuta.
  • In Season 2, Episode 8: Another girl masquerades as Morisummer and convinces Dekomori of her validity. Meanwhile, Shinka (the real Morisummer) tries to figure out what to do.
    • At first, Yuuta, Rikka, Shinka, and Kumin spy on Sanae, who is waiting for the imposter to arrive. When she finally arrives, Shinka becomes pissed with the imposters holier-than-thou attitude and confronts her. When the imposter challenges her to prove herself, she accepts, but, unable to find anything, comes back the next day. Without any proof of her past (as she thoroughly destroyed it), the originally-argumentative Shinka becomes complacent and accepting. She states she's tried to get rid of "Morisummer" and her connection with the character for a while, and now she's happy to be done with it. (This shocks Dekomori considerably.)
    • The next day in class, Dekomori struggles with the words she heard Shinka hear regarding her Morisummer character. She tries to convince herself that Shinka's lying, but it's obvious she can't. During the next break, Dekomori races to confront Shinka outside class 2-4's room. When Shinka dismisses her insults, questions, and feelings, Dekomori becomes disillusioned. Following school, Rikka talks about having to find a temporary replacement for Dekomori. Kumin then shares her feelings about the way the impostor looked and acted around Sanae. After thinking it over and refreshing this perspective, Yuuta and Kumin decide to tell this to Shinka. She's dismissive, even if the impostor loves Dekomori, but Kumin reveals Sanae likely wants to believe Shinka is the true Morisummer (and someone who will fight for her name). The three of them then witness the impostor rubbing a picture of Dekomori against her face, verifying Kumin's intuition.
    • Though she won't admit it, in order to protect Dekomori and stop the impostor for using her character for evil, she endures Shichimiya giving her chuunibyou training (to great internal shame) which unlocks part of her old self. Luckily she did too, as the next day's afternoon comes, a conflicted Dekomori meets up with the impostor who doesn't like her hanging onto pictures or things of her friends (especially Shinka). Declaring Dekomori still corrupted in her heart, she tries to force herself upon Sanae, only to be interrupted by Shinka (in full Morisummer attire). She promptly challenges the impostor to a battle, which commences. Initially the power of Shinka's feelings and experience win out, but the impostor turns the tide and beats her down. Laying nearly beaten, she laughs at the impostor's obsession with Dekomori, giving Reasons You Suck speech which becomes a "Reasons I Love You" speech about Dekomori. Emboldened by Shinka's feelings and the impostor's heartlessness, Dekomori steps in and saves Shinka, gives her own Reasons You Suck speech to the impostor, and ends the battle with a single attack.
    • Following the end of the battle, the impostor can't do anything but declare her love for Dekomori, declaring her a perfect, pure virgin who's never been kissed. Yuuta chimes in, revealing Dekomori has already had her First Kiss, with Shinka after the Christmas Party. Shocked and delusions shattered, the impostor cries and runs away. As Rikka declares victory, Dekomori and Shinka stand back-to-back, arms-folded, and blushing about the kiss. Shinka reiterates the kiss wasn't intentional. (It's not very convincing.)
  • In Season 2, Episode 11: To help console a hopeless Shichimiya, Shinka dons her Morisummer outfit and persona (partially), and tries to give her advice. After it's well-received, Shichimiya tightly hugs Shinka and won't let go. As Shinka tries to get her to let go, Dekomori and Kuzuha appear. Sanae becomes very protective of Nibutani, spouting accusations that Shichimiya is after both Yuuta and Shinka, and twirls her weighted pigtails while running toward her.
  • In Season 2, Episode 12 (Season Finale)
    • At the beginning of class, Kannagi (the class "Love Master"), starts interrogating Yuuta regarding any developments with Rikka over the summer. (She also appears to be desiring their breakup. If true, she didn't lie to Yuuta in Season 2, Episode 2 when she said she's a lesbian and has a crush on Rikka.) Regardless, she takes Yuuta's statement that their relationship strengthened to be sexual, prompting Dekomori and Shinka to appear together on either side of Kannagi.
    • In the early afternoon, Dekomori and Shinka, supposedly fighting over who gets to talk to Shichimiya about Rikka, are wrapped tightly together in Sanae's long hair. After Shichimiya notes Rikka wants to form a "higher contract" with Yuuta, both Dekomori and Shinka think the same thing, at the same time, and even complete their thought together. Following their brief fantasy visualization of Rikka and Yuuta they both blush and accuse the other of being pervy. That is before Shichimiya shuts them down and they both stand together, faces red, and embarrassed.
    • Yuuta and Isshiki use the bathhouse together on the men's side while Rikka, Shinka, Dekomori, Shichimiya, and Kumin use the women's side. Surprisingly, Skinship Grope is averted, and the most adult thing is comparing Rikka and Sanae's breast sizes. The main form of Ho Yay is in the first and last Yaoi-type interaction of the series. After the bath, Isshiki informs Yuuta he was confessed to while working as a lifeguard, by someone named Chihiro. Yuuta congratulates him but Isshiki laments because he still loves Kumin and only worked to buy her a present. Chihiro appears and it's revealed that Chihiro is a guy. Yuuta goes through shock, Isshiki is shocked and frightened, while the former leaves, and the latter is quickly acosted by Chihiro saying him and Isshiki must be destined to be together. The taller, seme Chihiro feels him up while the shorter, undesiring uke Isshiki tries to resist his advances. Yuuta quickly leaves, internally wishing Isshiki luck with Chihiro, a hanging bunch of flowers falls off the wall to the ground and Isshiki can be heard screaming.
  • In Season 2, Episode 13 (OVA): directly discussed by Dekomori in the context of Yuuta and Rikka's makeup fight. As soon as the words leave her lips, both Dekomori and Nibutani realize the implication for them, become flustered, and start denying it. Kumin then lampshades both of them with it.

Notes

  • With the increasing interaction of this nature between Nibutani and Dekomori, it's currently anyone's guess whether their relationship is Les Yay/Homoerotic Subtext or an actual budding lesbian relationship filled with Belligerent Sexual Tension. What is clear is that they are a Fan-Preferred Couple.
  • Nibutani's chuni name, Morisummer, translates as "Forest Summer". "Dekomori" means "Forest Decoration". Whether this has any meaning or not would be WMG.
