What do you get when you combine the already brilliant amounts of subversive snark fostered by the holostars with the bizarre writing and animation of holo no graffiti? Why, you get stars*collection.

  • While holo no graffiti has the hololive girls hanging out in a spacious office building, the holostars guys here are hanging out in what appears to be a makeshift living space/bar, complete with warehouse racks, chipped walls, and a dirty fridge. It's as if they're living in a university dorm. It is confirmed to be a garage converted into a secret hideout according to the sign at the hololive SUPER EXPO.
  • Episode 1: Popularity For Dummies
    • Oga demonstrating his “in-demand” voice by mimicking a typical Wall Pin of Love otome scene...only for the cut to reveal that he was doing it by leaning against a wall, with the camera nestled on his arm.
    • Roberu tries doing a sexy, deep voice. Aruran and Oga keep getting him to go lower and lower on pitch until he practically sounds like an old man, unrecognisable by Aruran’s phone.
    • Oga and Aruran’s “Lessons in Popularity” includes getting a towel sommelier certification, smashing up some air conditioners and...getting them some bread, much to Roberu's chagrin
Roberu: What am I, your errand boy?!
      • The next scene after that remark, however, shows that he indeed went to buy them bread.
    • The end of the episode shows Roberu trying to use all he's learned on a stream titled 'A Look at the New Me'. Shortly after the premiere, Roberu basically made the stream real by dropping a guerilla stream with the exact same title.
  • Episode 2: Cooking for Dummies has Shien and Izuru hosting a cooking stream in one minute.
    • As part of the opening, Izuru attempts to drip some water on Shien's facenote . He misses, gives up and dumps an entire bucket of water on Shien.
      • Of course, Shien takes it in stride.
Shien: *brushes his hair aside and winks to the camera* One minute cooking, si'l vous plait~
    • The entire progression of the cooking segment, with Izuru slowly getting annoyed at everything being pre-prepared...except for the final dish. So much for that classy acqua pazza...
    • When Shien realizes he doesn’t have the final dish prepared, he panics and starts sobbing into his hands, but when asked by Izuru, he blames it on the onion-cutting ninjas.
    • Shien then sadly takes out a box of cold mozukunote  from their very worn-out fridge and calls it the finished product, visibly giving up on his fancy initial meal plan.
Izuru: What happened to your acqua pazza?!
Shien: Pa-what?! I don’t even know what that is!
    • Izuru finds a solution to their missing acqua pazza problem:
Izuru: [shows Shien an empty plate] This is the acqua pazza after you've eaten it!
    • Aruran, who was recording the whole thing, has this to say at the end:
      Aruran: That's going on LivestreamFail.
  • Episode 3: Bullying For Dummies
    • This episode puts the spotlight on a fan-favourite Running Gag: Aruran being bullied. First Astel accidentally starts smothering him (he was trying to cover his eyes), then tricks him into eating a very spicy pizza. Izuru tries to do the same...except instead of covering Aruran’s eyes, he puts his fingers in them.
    • Astel and Izuru respond to Aruran being upset at them for pranking him by calling him a male Karen (or a “whiny grandpa” in the original Japanese).
    • Rikka makes a surprise cameo for three seconds. No one comments on it and he doesn't appear for the rest of the episode.
    • This Incredibly Lame Pun takes the spotlight at the end:
      Aruran: It’s aruright with me.
  • Episode 4: Courage For Dummies
    • Temma runs into the room after playing a scary game, only to find the office dark and empty. Cue the Paranoia Fuel, leading him to be freaked out by the simplest of things. When noticing that the fridge is slightly ajar, he finally musters the courage to open it...only to find, for some reason, Astel sitting in it. Temma's relieved to finally found a friend, to put it mildly.
  • Episode 5: Selfies for Dummies
    • Astel challenges Rikka, Aruran and Izuru to a selfie contest, since as idols they should be photogenic.
Izuru: You'll be heard next time...
    • Astel berates Aruran and Rikka for both getting the assignment wrong, all while Izuru agonizes over a sale at the grocery store.
      • Astel privately notes that ironically, despite Izuru's casualness, he's really good at taking selfies. Aruran agrees, saying that it was like he was born to do it. For the crime of butting into his monologue, he gets jumped on.
    • Sure enough, Izuru wows everyone with his quick selfie. Even Astel, who not only ends up brushing off the contest, (to Aruran and Rikka's annoyance), but the episode ends without the audience even getting to see what Astel's submission was!
  • Episode 6: Dental Health for Dummies
    • This episode quickly goes off the rails compared to the more grounded previous episodes, starting with Shien and Oga making some...questionable conversation, before Temma and Miyabi barges in to check in on the two. It turns out Shien was trying to coach Oga on how to brush his teeth properly.
    • Oga decides the better alternative is to utilize his size-changing ability to grow huge and let the proportionally tinier others brush them from inside his mouth. Of course, it isn't all that simple, since there's a Cavity-gami Oga there to undo their hard work.
    • Temma draws his sword to do combat, but in doing so, he accidentally stabs Oga's gums, giving him a mouth sore.
  • Episode 7: Guitar Lessons for Dummies
    • Rikka decides to give guitar lessons, but Aruran and Temma misinterpret "come to love the guitar"; the former trying to feed his guitar to deepen his bond with it, while Temma thought he had to become the guitar, wearing a guitar-shaped hood.
    • Astel, meanwhile, does the impossible feat of playing the guitar with an ocarina and a vuvuzela, which aren't string instruments.
    • Apparently Rikka is a Transforming Mecha, and can take on the form of a motorcycle. He then zooms off to pick up a rental copy of a movie, somehow, due to lacking limbs to hold things. All while making vroom vroom sounds.
  • Episode 8: Punchlines for Dummies
    • Unlike the previous episodes, this one is rapid-fire antics involving Oga, Roberu, and Miyabi. The episode starts with Roberu suggesting putting another eyepatch on Oga when Miyabi comments on how cool they are.
    • Miyabi is apparently a heavy sleeper. A tug on the cheek doesn't work, Neither does shoving a burger in his mouth. Nor is being used like a broom, or having a massive gong banged next to his ear.
    • Miyabi wonders what it would be like having Oga's size-changing powers... Scenarios include accidentally breaking a bar stool, eating a whole fridge for lunch, and trying to kneel to even get his face in view during a stream.
    • After all is said and done, the ending scene reveals it's all framed by trying to figure out which scene would be the best comedy routine.
  • Episode 9: Wholesomeness for Dummies
    • Miyabi and Shien are idly rolling on the ground...on a hillside. It doesn't take long for them to roll down the hill, and the subtitles perfectly encapsulate their panicked gibberish.
      Shien: ◎△$♪✖¥●&%#?!
      Miyabi: ASJKKDJFGHGL;!!!!
    • Their roll down the hill suddenly becomes a roll off a ramp from who knows where, straight into the lounge and onto Tenma and Oga, all while “Just Follow Stars” plays.
    • The second skit has Shien, Oga and Miyabi on a roller skating rink trying to keep their balance, only for Astel to blitz through and knock them into an incredibly fast spin, all while they’re screaming for help.
    • The final skit has Aruran test what seems to be an anti-balding serum on Izuru and Rikka...which turns out to actually be an airborne pathogen that causes its victims to sprout instant afros.
  • Episode 10: Refrigerators for Dummies puts the spotlight on their fridge, whose worn-out appearance has been attracting fans’ attention since Episode 1.
    • It starts with Roberu looking inside the fridge for food, only to find a pizza and sandwich with multiple mushrooms growing on them. He complains that the fridge doesn't work anymore.
    • Oga and Izuru appear, stating that the fridge still works since there are a few foods (fermented/rotten foods like cheese and natto) that haven't gone bad yet. The two then check the fridge's temperature which is "lukecold", Roberu snaps and tells them to get a new fridge.
    • The old-and-broken fridge (affectionately dubbed Fridge-kun by fans) is shown crying about its fate. Roberu gets angry at Oga for "adding weird features" to it, revealing Oga tampered with the fridge to make it shed fake tears. Izuru and Oga sadly hug the fridge and bid it goodbye. The camera then switches to both of them marching happily outside to buy a new fridge.
    • Roberu, Izuru and Oga gather to see what kind of fridge they bought
      • Oga brings back a plank which came with a hobby magazine. note
      • Izuru brings back a seemingly normal fridge, only for Roberu to find out that it is several metres long. Izuru explains apart from the large capacity, there is also a frozen goblin living inside as an additional feature.
      • Roberu bought a fridge online and got scammed into buying a palm-sized fridge, causing the other two to mercilessly laugh at him.
    • They find out that the plank Oga bought earlier is the fridge wall. The episode ends with Roberu accepting whatever fridge they have now and Izuru commenting on the sheer coincidence.
  • Episode 11: Budgeting for Rookies
    • It starts with a game of Othello, with Aruran having a commanding lead against Roberu. Since it's a rainy day, the storm causes the lights to go out periodically, leading to all sorts of shenanigans in the blackouts.
    • Izuru and Astel take advantage of the first blackout to steal Oga's horn while he can't see them, for some reason. After Rikka provides some illumination (implied by the shadow to have turned into Motorcycle Rikka), Shien is crumpled under the table after getting emotional damage from the kusogaki duo (when he tried to keep everyone quiet, Astel called him a "wannabe mafia" and Izuru told him to go eat mozuku), Aruran is lounging on the table, and the Reversi board was tampered with.
    • When Rikka's lights go out, Aruran blames Roberu for cheating. Though with Astel impersonating him, it could have been him that did it.
    • Temma manages to find a flashlight, but once the room is lit again, the white pieces have been replaced with Mentos—sorry, Nentos.
    • Once the lights are finally back on, Roberu is piggybacking Rikka, Miyabi perched on Temma and Shien, Aruran is still on the table, Oga is wrestling with Astel, and Izuru has his head stuck in one of the lights. And all the Nentos are mysteriously gone. Turns out each member except Miyabi has taken two pieces and they pose together with Nentos as eyes.
    • ...so is the "budgeting" part about saving lights, or is it about the animators using as few animated parts as possible?
  • Episode 12: Neckgear for Rookies
    • Rikka lost his body, with no trace of where it went other than his pendant. His talking pendant. That can also shoot lasers.
    • Miyabi unleashes the pendant's power on Shien...which enhances his vision to spot Rikka's runaway body, with the side effect of turning his head into that of a horse note
    • Rikka's body is just dancing about in the middle of a crossing, which is easily retrieved. Except when Rikka is put back together, his head is comically tiny in proportion.
    • The end sequence is just an endless loop of Rikka's dancing body on a green screen. It's just asking to be used as a meme. Keep in mind that this episode aired on Rikka's birthday...
  • Episode 13: Hay Fever for Rookies
    • Shien constantly churns out Blatant Lies to deny the fact that he’s having hay fever. Being the Large Ham that he is, he even concocts a mini drama (completed with spotlight) about how if he doesn’t go to doctor, he’s not sick at all.
  • Episode 16: Guitar Battles for Rookies
    • With a title like that, you'd think it'd break into a battle of music between Rikka and Izuru, right? Nope! It's going to be a physical battle with guitars, and Aruran is participating in it whether he likes to or not. As the striking dummy.
    • Temma comes to Aruran's aid for bullying, but it segues into a health insurance ad by Miyabi before Temma cuts Izuru in half.
    • Izuru manages to escape getting cut in half, knocking Temma out and passing the guitar over to Aruran, declaring him the winner. What follows is a string of wordplay that ends with manzai (stand-up comedy routine).
    • Oh, the QR code in the insurance ad? It's functional. It leads to this video.
  • Episode 17: Excalibur for Rookies
    • Temma got his sword stuck in the inexplicably gigantic boulder that ended up in the holostar's room. With the help of Roberu, the two try to pry it out like Excalibur... except it was a maraca.
    • There a second sword stuck in the stone, but when they try to pull that out, it's impossibly long. Roberu suggests to just cut it at the sword's original length, which he does, and shoves the rest of the sword back into the stone. When he tries to sharpen it, though, it somehow turns into a maraca. At least he has a pair of them now.
    • Shien's come home, offering to cook something up...using Temma's sword as a kitchen knife while humming the Ievan Polka. With Temma's sword back in his hands, he tries to return the maraca swords into the boulder.
    • Shien hands Roberu a sign, just before Temma tips the boulder over and nearly crushing Roberu before it cut to the end slate. If you look closely at the back of the sign, it's the script for the trailer. This entire episode is a flashback that led to it!
  • Episode 27: Straight Man for Novices
    • The episode starts with Oga putting Roberu through a strict retorting regimen — it's now Gone Horribly Right and his right arm is now astoundingly strong, which stresses him out.
    • Rikka and Tenma are roped into provide lame jokes for Roberu to resist retorting to. Tenma starts with "a passenger celebrating his birthday on a crowded train", which turns into an Overly Long Gag and Tenma ends up Giving Up the Ghost from the self-induced cringe.
    • The sketch ends with Oga doing his impression of Roberu's stressing over his retort arm strength, which irritates Roberu enough to backhand him into orbit. Turns out this colossal burst of power was all that was needed to revert his strength!
  • Episode 29: Saving Electricity for Novices
    • To word it differently, it's a sequel to Budgeting for Rookies, and as such, wacky antics ensue in total darkness.
    • Due to the electricity bill being too high, Miyabi enforces a blackout to cut down on energy costs. By blowing up the breaker.
    • A bug is buzzing around the room and Temma wants to deal with it. Astel ends up swatting Aruran trying, and isn't successful (or just wanted a reason to slap him).
    • Miyabi attempts to talk all cutesy to deflect blame, and then Oga starts playing along too. And then Shien, and then Izuru, and then everyone else, to Roberu's chagrin.
    • Then Oga brings up the idea of stripping down to bond with their bodies. Once the emergency lights are on, Roberu exclaims that someone is already naked.
  • Episode 31: Summer for Beginners
    • Summer's at its end, and being so culturally integral, Temma and Aruran worry about having wasted their summer away and not knowing how many left they'll have. Oga, being a millenia-old demon, fails to see the problem.
    • Temma lists a bucket list of what to do before summer ends, including wearing a white dress (twice), and fireworks (twice). He and Aruran plan to do all of them. Today.
    • The watermelon smashing ends up being a squid smashing because there wasn't any watermelons to get.
    • Rikka, being a robot, scarfs down his bowl of shaved ice with no problem, while everyone else gets brain freeze. He's eaten around twenty of them before the others finished one.
    • Radio calisthenics...on Oga's hand. Rikka gets winded somehow, but thankfully a timely lightning strike recharges him. Guess he didn't charge his batteries beforehand.
  • Our Frontier Life
    • Fuma needing to drag Miyabi around like a toddler throwing a tantrum when he refuses to look around the site with the rest of the Design Team.
    • As members of the Defense Building Team, Astel and Temma build a defense elaborate enough to prevent anyone from getting in or out. Poor Rio ends up stepping on a landmine and laments how being a ghost was the only reason he didn’t die. Octavio then suggests they should all become ghosts to stay safe from the traps, leaving Axel alone to console Rio while Astel and Temma praise Octavio for his "genius".
      • Astel and Temma doing a square dance in the background.
    • Oga, Rikka, and Arurandeisu praise themselves for bringing all the essentials needed for the Cooking Team to make food, only to realize too late that they each brought a giant bag of salt and nothing else. Shinri and Ruze are quick to mock them.
    • Shien is incredulous that the Cooking Team only has mountains of salt to work with, but Izuru luckily had curry ingredients prepared. Shien tries to peel a potato but it ends up slipping from his hands, bouncing off of Hakka's monitor, and into the pot. This amuses Hakka and Goldbullet, so Shien commits to the bit and starts throwing potatoes at Izuru's head so they'll land in the pot, much to Izuru's chagrin.
    • The Vacation Facility Team are thinking of rides to include. Gamma suggests bungee jumping, Bettel suggests paragliding, and Flayon suggests skydiving, so Uyu decides they should combine all three ideas. Cue Roberu and Gamma wearing Bettel and Flayon's monitors as they fall from the sky and Uyu throws darts at them. He manages to nail Roberu in the forehead, which Bettel considers a bullseye. Gamma's "prize" for Uyu is firing the darts right back at him, nailing him in the forehead as well and knocking him over.
