"Taming The Huntress" is a Resident Evil fanfic, written by Silent Winters that is a retelling of the events of Resident Evil Village but Ethan Winters is captured and imprisoned by the residents of Castle Dimitrescu for much longer, and a sadistic middle Daughter takes an interest in him

This fanfic contains examples of:
- Accidental Adultery: Ethan sleeps with and starts a relationship with Cassandra while still married to Mia, although Ethan doesn't know that Mia is still alive because Chris "killed" a fake Mia disguised by Miranda.
- Adaptation Species Change: Zigzagged for the Dimitrescu daughters, in the game, they are merely a swarm of hive-minded man-eating flies who take on human forms to attract unsuspecting prey, here though it is the opposite, as they are women who are made up of man-eating flies and can shapeshift between the two forms.
- Adaptational Abomination:
- The Megamycete is like this, in the original it was unknown where it came from, here it's the same but it is a giant cocoon for a monster inside.
- Mia Winters gets a modified Cadou implanted inside her, that makes her schelera's turn black with one iris turning yellow and the other red, in addition, she gets a tiny horn from where the cadou was implanted in her skull, two black tentacles down her skull, and a demon wing on her back. After her fight with Chris Redfield, her yellow eye turns red and she gains another wing thanks to the Megamycete.
- Adaptational Badass:
- Downplayed for Ethan Winters as he is still the badass as he is in the main game, but here temporarily gets a power-up from Eveline which he uses to finish of the soldat, and is able to kill a Varcolac with a few bullets and putting a live grenade in its mouth blowing up it's head.
- Mia Winters gets this, at first it was a downplayed case but she does try and succeeds to escape by incapacitating Miranda, only for Miranda to easily capture her again, but once she gets infected by the new modified cadou by Miranda she is able to take on lycans with ease and easily kills off half of the hound Wolf Squad team and nearly kills & breaks Chris Redfield after they fight before Miranda shows up.
- Adaptational Comic Relief: Daniela goes from being just as threatening as her sisters in canon to the comic relief.
- Adaptational Heroism: Bela, Cassandra & Daniela decide to help Ethan out with his mission to save his daughter after bonding with all 3.
- Adaptational Jerkass;
- Heavily Downplayed with Ethan, he is still the same nice guy we all know and love in canon, but he does make some lighthearted snarky remarks to other people and occasionally pushes limits, like saying to Cassandra that no one wants to be friends with her, and lashing out at Bela and Cassandra after finding out what happened to his daughter.
- Lucas Baker never was a polite guy in canon, but here he is extremely petty and rude and is equally hostile to everyone. even compared to his canon counterpart who at least was Faux Affably Evil.
- Adaptational Nice Guy: Every one of the Dimitrescu's get this. While they were just sadistic monsters in canon, the daughters here mostly kill only because they abstain from blood for too long, which makes them bloodthirsty, lose control of themselves and kill anyone in sight.
- Alcina is still sadistic & misandric as ever, but unlike the game, she doesn't kill her maids on Miranda's orders before Ethan arrives because she warms up to them, decides to make shitty cookies on the infamous "cookie day" for everyone in the castle much to everyone's disgust. & has firm standards against killing children, shown when she is horrified by Miranda Calcifying Rose.
- Bela is a lot more friendly here, she shows a lot of care towards her family to the point of choking Ethan after Insulting Cassandra unlike the main game where she mostly speaks of them as useless. tries to keep prisoners alive and painless for as long as possible, while also trying to learn of the outside world. She also tried to work on an antidote that doesn't make her or her sisters lust for blood and that they an interact with humans.
- Cassandra is like Alcina being sadistic, but also against harming children and mellows out into being a much better person in later chapters after bonding with Ethan.
- Daniela is one of the first Ethan befriends and she let a maid go free and giving all her money to the maid for a better life. she also feels very deep remorse every time she loses control of herself and kills maids to the point of getting suicidal.
- Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Ethan gets a lot with the Dimitrescu Daughters, where in canon they were just sadistic monsters that only try to kill Ethan,
- Cassandra gets the biggest one, where she only hunts Ethan around the castle before being killed by him, they started off being Hostile to each other until Ethan saves her from freezing to death, then they start to warm up to each other over the week & eventually fall in love and start a relationship with each other, until Cassandra reluctantly sets Ethan free to save his daughter.
- Instead of Cassandra finding Ethan in the hallway, its Bela where she locks him inside the dungeon, they started off hostile, mostly on ethans end, then warm up to each other over the week
- Daniela has no hostility towards Ethan and is the first he befriends, but Daniela wants him to be more, but after seeing his feelings for Cassandra, she mostly stops her flirting. but is still good friends with Ethan.
- Adaptational Villainy:
- The Megamycete/Black God gets this thanks to it actually have sentience this time. Rather than just be the source of Miranda's powers, it actively plots to brainwash the world and leave them as mere husks of their former selves.
- Mia gets brainwashed by the Megamycete and Miranda with a new strain of Cadou. She goes on to nearly kill Eveline in the megamycete Hive Mind and kill half of Chris's Hound Wolf Squad.
- Adaptational Wimp:
- The daughters are like this. Even though they still have the same powers, their weaknesses to cold weather and air are multiplied by 10. Unlike the original game where they can stand and fight while being exposed, here the cold incapacitates them and leaves them for dead in minutes.
- Jack Baker, at least in the megamycete, he is easily overpowerered by Mia when she enters the megamycete to kill expel Eveline, it's justified though as he is merely a spirit in the megamycete hence he is no longer the immortal strong monster he was when he was infected is and is a man in his 50s
- Aloof Big Sister
- Bela is this to her sisters, but it's because she spends a lot of time in her laboratory trying to make a cure for her sisters.
- Cassandra is pretty distant to her sister Daniela.
- Even Alcina shows deep distain over her younger siblings.
- Always Someone Better: As good as Cassandra is with controlling her flies and fighting abilities, Bela manages to do it very quickly.
- Ambiguously Bi: Daniela flirts and makes a lot of advances to Ethan, but she also mentions taking a look at Playboy Magazines at the same time and admiring the women depicted inside them and comparing them to her own body.
- Being Evil Sucks: Daniela hates that she is a predator that needs blood to survive and wants to be normal and have friends and a lover, but her having recurring instances of losing control make her even more depressed and feel like there is no hope.
- Belligerent Sexual Tension: Ethan and Cassandra constantly have moments but they get interrupted at the last second.
- Canon Foreigner: This story introduces new characters that weren't in the main game.
- In the Castle introduces the maiden's unofficial boss Lucia who is a hardworking maid & the daughter of Luiza & Vasile & she is the best friend of Elena Lupu who became a maid so her sick mother didn't have to, after Ethan arrives she doesn't know her parents are killed by lycan Leonardo and by mutated Mia Winters.
- Chick Magnet: Probably Justified because Ethan is the only man who has visited Castle Dimitrescu in years or a decade, he manages to attract some of the residents inside, it's a downplayed trope though as the only ones interested are Cassandra & Daniela , with Bela & Lucia also finding him attractive but don't go for him since they know he has his hands full with Cassandra. also Lady Dimitrescu has nothing but contempt for him for being a man and neither of the other maids pay much attention to him.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Cassandra is very possessive over her man-thing Ethan, and doesn't like it when other women are flirting with him or being friendly. like Daniela dancing with Ethan. or Lucia having a nice conversation with him.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Cassandra's previous life as Daciana Baciu was rough, her mother died when she was a tween and ever since then she was abused physically, verbally & implied to be sexually abused by her father Costin. when she tries to leave the village with her lover Nicolae. Costin catches them in the act and accidentally kills Nicolae with a sword. Costin then abused Daciana until Mother Miranda & Alcina stepped into stop him. then Daciana uses her sickle to kill her father before going out cold.
- Death by Adaptation: The Wolf Squad all survived in canon, while half of them get wiped out by a brainwashed Mia in this fic.
- Decomposite Character: In Canon, Donna & Angie were pretty much the same character, where Donna controls Angie, here though they are two separate entities, an they care for each other too as Angie managed to stop Ethan from killing Donna saying they were besities
- Defrosting Ice Queen: Cassandra at first was evil and sadistic who kills and tortures maids for fun and casually, she also enjoyed watching Ethan suffer against her monsters, eventually though she loses her sadistic ways after bonding with Ethan and helps the maids and apologizes & apologizes to Ethan and helps him out with his goals
- Doorstopper: it has over 600,000 words as of Jan 2024, making it one of the longest Resident Evil fanfiction
- Even Evil Has Standards:
- The Dimitrescus have firm standards against child abuse and murder, Alcina was horrified by Miranda Calcifying Rose, and Cassandra brought a stranded boy back to his house after he got lost in the forest while she was hunting,
- Miranda was horrified at first of what the Black God really wants to do with the world by eating people alive, then throwing them up and turning them into soulless husks to the point of throwing up, but shrugs it off because as long as she gets her daughter back she doesn't care, which the Black God agrees to
- Guilt-Induced Nightmare: Ethan constantly has nightmares about his failures of protecting Mia and Rose and they all normally end by Jack Baker stomping his head in.
- Heel-Face Turn: After Ethan saves Cassandra from being exposed to the cold & Ethan getting bitten by a Moroaica, Cassandra starts to let go of her sadistic murderous ways, apologizes to Ethan and looks for a way for him to escape with his daughter, and tries to befriend the maids.
- I Just Want to Be Loved: Daniela always wishes to have a special someone to start a new life with, she hoped for it with Ethan but he ended up with Cassandra instead,
- I Just Want to Be Normal: Daniela also wishes to be normal and not kill anyone against her will to survive.
- Interrupted Intimacy: A running gag throughout the story is that when Ethan and Cassandra try to get intimate during the day, something always interrupts them at the last moment, from a wine bottle, a call from Eveline, Lucia giving Ethan breakfast, Alcina calling for Cassandra and making her hand Ethan over to Daniela. and Bela catching them kissing. Less so at night however where they get their moments.
- Interspecies Romance: Ethan is a human, made completely of mold, and Cassandra is a vampire woman made up completely out of blowflies.
- Insult of Endearment: Ethan jokingly calls Cassandra Sensei & Cassandra calling Ethan "Baby Parrot" Eventually lose their edge of being mocking and instead being nicknames they give each other.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold
- Ethan has some jerk moments like saying no one wants to be Cass's friends and lashing, but he mostly immediately apologizes for saying those unnecessary remarks. and is usually friendly to everyone.
- Cassandra, at least after her redemption where she still keeps some of her rough edges.
- Love Makes You Evil: Even moreso than in canon with Miranda. Despite knowing the Black God's intentions for the world are horrific, she still goes along with it because the Black God promised to bring her daughter back.
- Love Redeems: Ethan is able to break through Cassandra's tough outer shell with love.
- Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The Dimitrescu daughters fit this perfectly, Daniela is the nice one, Cass was the mean one, especially in the first few chapters and Bela is in the middle of being both nice and mean, though more for the former.
- Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: the Black god wants to create a world of peace and paradise... by forcefully eating people alive and spitting them out turning them into soulless husks of their former selves and create an "armoldaggeddon"
- Oblivious to Love: Zigzagged with Ethan having moments where he is oblivious to Cassandra's affections like her being Jealous with Lucia & Daniela, but also has moments where he has a lot of sexual tension with her, it also extends to Daniela where he knows she has a crush on her.
- Second Love: Ethan starts a new relationship with Cassandra a week after Mia "dies". Zig-Zagged for Cassandra too, as while Ethan was her first love, in her previous life she had a relationship with a man named Nicolae.
- Sex Equals Love: the first time Ethan and Cassandra make love, they tell each other they love them and start their relationship
- She Is Not My Girlfriend: Ethan and Cassandra constantly make excuses that they aren't a couple to others, not that they buy it at all, even after they start their relationship they will keep it secret, not that anyone buys it either
- Shipper on Deck: Mostly Everyone in the story including Bela, Daniela, Lucia & The Duke roots for Cassandra & Ethan to get together.
- Snark-to-Snark Combat: The Main language Ethan and Cassandra speak in to each other, and other characters in the story
- The One Guy: Ethan is the only man alive inside Castle Dimitrescu (except for the Duke), including the Dimitrescu Family and the Maids.
- Violently Protective Girlfriend: Cassandra swears to kill anyone who dares harm her Man-thing Ethan, that includes Mother Miranda for taking his daughter away.
