Princess Taira Chiyo

  • Big Eater: Mostly in the beginning of the manga. She even ate an ippondatara (giant boar-like creature).
  • Blood from the Mouth: Coughing blood is one of the signs of her curse. Sometimes, there is so much blood that it's weird why she doesn't die from blood lose.

  • Early Installment Character-Design Difference: Some details of her design are present only in first chapters:
  • Heroic BSoD: She suffers one after the demons destroy Rokuhara for violating the contract and its remaining residents blame her about it.
  • Hollywood Costuming: She wears modern-looking clothes, despite the manga being set in Medieval Japan.
  • Human Sacrifice: Her clan made a contract with demons to get power to defeat Minamoto clan, and in exchange she has to die at the age of 16.
  • Immortality Seeker: She is cursed to die about a year after the manga begins, so she is trying to find a way to become immortal.
  • Made of Iron: She seemed not to take any sufficient damage after falling from a giant cliff and even survived after falling from the height of the clouds.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: When she violates the contract, going to Yomotsu Hirasaka in attempt to become immortal, instead of dying in Oushu, the demons destroy the capital, Rokuhara Kyo.
  • Mystical Pregnancy: After she violates the contract, Kare Kuma-Douji impregnates her with Demon King.
  • Plucky Girl: She loves her life, but still risks it to help other people.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: She is cursed to die at the age of 16.

    • Losing Your Head: Uratarou tore off her head. But then it's revealed that she's immortal and it didn't kill her, although it took some time for her to stand again because it was the second or third time when she received a fatal wound.
  • She Is the King: She is referred as "Emperor".
