    Artoria Pendragon (Alter)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/artoria_alter_2.png
The Dark-tainted Tyrant

"Servant, Saber. Artoria Pendragon. So, tell me...Are you fit to be my Master?"

An alternate version of Artoria Pendragon, the King of Knights. This Artoria has been corrupted by "All The Evils In The World", transforming her into a heartless tyrant. She shows no hesitation in using the ancient dragon mana within her body that Artoria forbid herself from using, boosting her strength significantly. From a certain perspective, she could be considered a different person, but perhaps this is the true "ideal ruler" persona that Artoria attempted to use as King of Britain: a god-like monarch who leads her people with absolute strength and conviction, with no hesitation or emotion to influence her judgment. Yet even the King of Knights possesses doubts and insecurities about the path she followed, and this corruption has forced those contradictions to outwardly manifest in a darkened and corrupted form.

She's the Big Bad in Singularity F, as the final obstacle to the Grail.

  • Big Eater: She always eats in her spare time, forcing Archer Emiya to cook whatever she wants.
  • The Corruption: She is the result of Altria being corrupted by Angra Mainyu's cursed black ooze, though her profile indicates that this drew out her suppressed negative emotions.
  • Evil Makeover: Her clothes and sword turn black and red, her eyes turn yellow, her skin and hair become deathly pale, and her prana turns black and purple.
  • Mama Bear: Downplayed in that she isn't her mother, but she's quite protective of Mash. It's what clues Izuku in that Mash is bound to Galahad, and she warns him that revealing that truth now will do more harm than good.

    Chevalier d'Eon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chevalier1.png
Knight of White Lilies

"Servant, Saber. I am Chevalier d'Eon. The Knight of the White Lily, who has sworn to serve the French royal family...and, should you wish it, will protect you just as faithfully."

An androgynous soldier and writer who lived in revolution-era France. An accomplished spy who was capable of infiltrating high society. They normally dress as a man but used to dress as a woman. No matter the clothes, d'Eon can appear as any sex.

  • Agent Peacock: Just look at them. It's real-life counterpart is also one.
  • Ninja Pirate Robot Zombie: Even in real life, d'Eon was a spy, writer, and knight who took on the roles of men and women to defend the royal family.
  • Queer Colors: Possibly a coincidence, but d'Eon's color scheme closely resembles the transgender pride flag.
  • Royal Rapier: Armed with one, since d'Éon was born into a noble family and served the French royal family.
  • Skilled, but Naive: Many French Servants, including Marie Antoinette, often tease d'Eon for being too earnest for their own good. Amadeus even wonders how someone so easily swayed and innocent could be a spy.
  • Trans Tribulations: They start getting feelings for Izuku, which leads them to worry since so many servants have already fallen for him while they worry about how he views d'Eon (Especially their gender).

    Gaius Julius Caesar
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/caesar1.png
First of the Empire

"Veni. Vidi. Vici. I offer my sincerest congratulations, my Master, for you have summoned one of the greatest Heroic Spirits that the Throne of Heroes has to offer. Very few would have the temerity to call to one such as me, yet your earnest wish was one even I could not ignore. For that, you have my respect, and I shall fight by your side for as long as you have need of me."

Perhaps the greatest of the rulers of the Roman Empire, Julius Caesar earned his fame in the Gallic Wars and his campaign into Britain. He was a skilled military commander and a womanizer, said to have fathered offspring with feyfolk descended from the goddess Venus. Cunning and ambitious, he revels in trickery and uses his frightening intelligence to win his people's loyalty.

He is an antagonist in the Septem chapter.

  • Karmic Transformation: He admits to being The Hedonist when it came to food, women, property, and political influence, so his current appearance may be reflective of his legendary decadence.

    Gilles de Rais
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/giless1.png
Follower of the Saint of Orleans
Bluebeard/Caster Version

"Servant, Saber. Gilles de Rais. I have arrived per your request, Master."

A French nobleman and follower of Jeanne d'Arc, with whom he recaptured Orleans from the British. Honest and valorous, he served as Jeanne's marshal. Outside the fields he is a patron of the arts, having spent most of his fortune on them. Most importantly, this is Gilles before Jeanne was accused of being a witch and burned at the stake, before he questioned his faith in God and being lured into the abyss by Prelati. Though that is not to say that his future actions don't affect his past self...

He appears in Orléans both as the antagonist in his Caster form and as a minor ally with the living Gilles de Rais.

  • Amnesiac Dissonance: He's the first servant Izuku summons who has no memory of their time in the Singularity since that was simply an alternate version of himself, leading to some early confusion.
  • Badass Normal: Compared to every other Saber on this page. He's not a Master Swordsman nor has a magical sword: all he has is a self-boosting technique and sheer willpower.
  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: After he's summoned, Prelati's Spellbook is summoned as well, and if he uses it at all, he'll temporarily turn into his Caster form.
  • Evil Makes You Ugly: While Gilles as a Saber wasn't that good-looking, and looked rather plain at worst, Gilles as a Caster is... yeesh.
  • Future Me Scares Me: He knows of the existence of his evil Caster aspect, and doesn't like it at all.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: A weird case for the France singularity. He's the one that created Jeanne Alter with a Grail, but he's perfectly content following her as The Dragon.
  • Hearing Voices: He has a problem of hearing the darker thoughts of his Caster Self, usually to egg him on to use Prelati's Spellbook.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: His Caster self. Rather than summoning another Gilles, instead what was summoned was the Noble Phantasm both share, the Book of Prelati. Using it automatically converts Saber into his Caster form, though it's possible to reverse it by destroying the book.

    Nero Claudius

Emperor of Roses

"Servant, Saber! I am the fifth emperor of Rome! Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus! Umu! You've made an excellent choice calling out to me! Your taste must be impeccable!"

The fifth ruler of the Roman Empire, vilified throughout history as a tyrant who earned her position through treachery and poison, and ruthlessly suppressed Christianity and the Roman Senate. It is believed the "Book of Revelation" from The Bible was written as a reaction to this situation, although more recent historians have questioned the veracity of many anti-Nero documents as propaganda; such as the famous belief that Nero did nothing but play the lyre during the Great Fire of Rome.

This Nero is a flamboyant, arrogant and utterly self-assured ruler who sincerely loved the world but demanded to be loved in kind, not realising that her love was selfish and could never be reciprocated. Despite lavishing her citizens with gifts and public works (some more ill-considered than others), Nero fell into despair when they did not rise to defend her against a coup d'etat, and committed suicide. As a Servant and polymath, her delusional self-confidence is so absolute that she forced herself into the Saber class (because it is widely considered the "best" Class) and can gain temporary mastery over a wide number of eclectic skills, as represented by her Imperial Privilege skill. Her Noble Phantasm even imitates the effects of a Reality Marble, one of the highest forms of magecraft.

She originally debuted in Fate/EXTRA as one of the three playable Servants and is Septem's Arc Hero as the events of the singularity happen during her reign as empress.

  • Abusive Parents: Nero's mother, Agrippina, is one of these. She forced Nero to drink from a silver cup as a child, which led to Nero's painful migraines and mental instability later in life. If not for Agrippina, Nero could have been a much better emperor.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: In the game, Nero takes the invasion of the Empire with relative stride, even when the only people able to match the enemy's forces are people known for overthrowing/fighting kings - and two of these are Spartacus and Boudica, the latter being someone her forces fought. Timeless Academia's Nero is much more emotive about those issues, dealing with her self-worth issues, being forced to kill Caligula, her beloved uncle, and nearly freaking out when the final Servant of the Empire happens to be Romulus.
  • Antiquated Linguistics: Slips into these from time to time, particularly when using her Noble Phantasm.
  • At the Opera Tonight: Invoked by her Noble Phantasm, Aestus Domus Aurea: Golden Theater of the Flamboyant, which summons a red-and-gold bedecked theater while she deals damage to all existing enemies.
  • Attention Whore: She just wants to be loved by everyone like she loves everyone else.
  • Cool Sword: Aestus Estus, a BFS forged from an meteor that is constantly on fire.

    Siegfried
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/siegfried1.png
The Dragon-Blooded Knight

"Servant, Saber. I am the Dragon Slayer, Siegfried. I am ready to receive your orders, Master."

A Germanic hero who wields the sword Balmung and has the strength of a thousand men. He's famous for slaying the evil dragon Fafnir. Although he's quiet, he's a passionate and protective man who puts himself in harm's way to protect his allies. When he was alive, he bathed in and drank Dragonkind blood to become invulnerable. He then proceeded to perform many other great deeds before being a victim of a plot that ended his life.

He's the Saber of the Black Faction in Fate/Apocrypha. In Orléans, he appears as a major ally thanks to his invaluable dragon-slaying skills.

  • Achilles' Heel: A tiny spot of his back is his weakness. The curse that comes from his legend makes it unable for him to cover his back.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: Not a big talker and (lorewise at least) an incredibly powerful Servant.
  • BFS: Balmung is almost as tall as him.
  • Blood Bath: In his original myth, Siegfried became invulnerable after bathing in the blood of a dragon, save for a spot on his back where a leaf stuck to him.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: His Armor of Fafnir. It works in a similar vein to God Hand, where he can't be hurt by attacks up to a certain point. Unlike Heracles Noble Phantasm, it also reduces the power of attacks that could overpower the armor's defensive skills, unless you hit him in the back.
