The Pixel Gun/Newbie

You.

  • Action Survivor: He presumably started as this.
  • All There in the Manual: His real name is... Newbie.
  • Anti-Hero: Pragmatic. Thinks of shooting an innocent girl for unleashing hell on his world. He doesn't. As of World 3, Nominal as he shows no qualms about murdering the army.
  • Badass Normal: Has no superpowers, just a load of guns,
    • Empowered Badass Normal: With the capes and boots, he gains powers to generate shields (Formerly health, but nerfed), double jump, and do other awesome things. Also great with the guns, to extents, where he could be called this anyways.
  • Cold Sniper: Once he gets the sniper rifle, he starts acting like this.
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: Begins the game with a shotgun and a machine gun. The shotgun can either spray its shot to kill a large number of enemies, or just shoot one, dealing quite a bit of damage, later upgrades to the Double Trouble, which is the same thing, but more shot, and less ammo. He also seems to think this, as he either has the starter gun or the Double Trouble in his hand,
  • Ship Tease: With Apocalypse Girl. She asks if she looks good in a space suit. He just smiles.
  • One-Man Army: Deconstructed. He fights a whole lot of enemies, and wins singlehandedly, but it seems to be taking a toll on his sanity.
  • Comic-Book Movies Don't Use Codenames: Averted. He briefly uses Pixel Gun, the name of his 9mm. He doesn't stick with it though, and it's only on the App Store he gets called this.
  • The Quiet One: Only speaks at most three times in World 1. You read his thoughts due to the cutscene's comic format though. Until world 3.
  • Revenge: His motive against the big bad, The Dragon.
  • Revolvers Are Just Better: Can earn one in one of the later levels, and it deals a crapload of damage. If you look closely in all the levels after you get it, it's in his holster.
  • Villain Protagonist: Well, the army certainly should have attacked him on sight.

Apocalypse Girl

  • Big Good: Briefly.
  • Faux Action Girl: She looked like she was going to grab a gun and help the player. Instead, she simply watches him fight, and does nothing at all to aid him.
  • The Atoner: Claims to be this. Too bad she never gets in on the action.

The Dragon

The Creator

  • The Atoner: But of course! He did Make the bug!
  • Ambiguously Evil: He is a god in everying but name. This applies, as he made the world.
  • Affably Evil: If he is evil, he is DEFINITELY THIS.
  • Big Good: Oh, so much, but the hints are around.
