The Moondreamers

    Crystal Starr
  • Big Good: She is nice, wise enough, creates stars and tends to coordinate the Moondreamers' work.
  • The Heart: Her patience and understanding make her vital in keeping the group together.
  • Only Sane Man: One of the most reasonable and moderate of the group, so it makes sense for her to be in charge.

    Whimzee

    Sparky Dreamer
  • Berserk Button: Do not question the importance of the Moondreamers in the presence of Sparky Dreamer!
  • Gadgeteer Genius: The most technologically savvy by far.
  • Insufferable Genius: Sparky Dreamer is a know-it-all who takes great pride in her intellect and tends to be very strict about rules and regulations.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's an Insufferable Genius, cranky, abrasive and a very strict rule enforcer. On the flip side, she'll never turn down someone in need of help and her reasoning for wanting everyone to follow the rules is pretty justified, since the Moondreamers run the universe on manual pilot.
  • Mr. Fixit: She can fix most things that are broken.
  • Only Sane Man: Played with. She can be pretty sensible but her impatience and temper can get the better of her and make her act as immature as the others. She certainly considers herself a full example though.
  • Wrench Wench: Not too masculine but she knows her way around tools.

    Dream Gazer
  • Big Good: She has knowledge and wisdom far beyond any other mortal.
  • Cool Big Sis: Despite the fact that her otherworldly knowledge makes her worldview distant, she is very friendly and approachable though at times not easy to understand.
  • The Mentor: As the eldest and wisest Moondreamer.
  • The Stoic: She always sees the bigger picture and treats most events very calmly.

    Bucky Buckaroo
  • Alliterative Name: Bucky Buckaroo.
  • Bad Butt: For an 80's kids cartoon, a bit more competent than usual.
  • The One Guy: Bucky Buckaroo. There are actually a few other guys on the show, but most of the time it's just Bucky representing the male gender.

    Celeste

    Galaxia
  • Feathered Dragons: She has birdlike wings instead of the more traditional membranous kind.

    Blinky and Bitsy
  • I Just Want to Be Special: The whole reason they went to Starry Up was to become Moondreamers, and for this reason.
  • Tagalong Kid: They are scouts and apprentices after all, who earned their badges by saving the day.

    Rory

    Ursa Major

    Ursa Minor

    The Snoozers

Villains

    The Sleep Creeps

    Queen Scowlene
  • Bad Boss: When things go her way, she even allows her minions to have a drink with her. When things do not go her way, the drink will end up spilled on their heads and they will end up getting shouted to their faces and tormented even if it was not their fault because someone has to hear it.
  • Big Bad: The queen of nightmares herself.
  • The Caligula: Throwing her weight around is the least horrifying thing about her. Giant ugly statues kind of imply this.
  • Dirty Coward: Its quite ironic that she is so easy to scare and intimidate. Not that the cronies are allowed to see it of course. Just watch the scene with Rory.
  • Evil Is Petty: The Mind Rape of children has the jealousy of their sleep as a motivation.
  • For the Evulz: Scowlene's reasoning for wanting to take over and destroy Starry Up? Because its there. And its something to do.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: It is implied that she comes from an evil family who used negatron energy and decided to rule Monstrous Middle.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Always ready to scream at the top of her lungs to anyone.
  • Mind Rape: Her modus operandi is causing little children to have everlasting nightmares in which their darkest fears come to life. Everlasting.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: More like in another dimension.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: More of a cartoony Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain than most examples but if you read the above you don't need any further explanation about the vile part.
  • Weak Sauce Weakness: Queen Scowlene is allergic to animal hair.

    Princess Scowlette
  • Co-Dragons: Along with Grimace as she is the other member of the royal family. This means that often they would be the ones to suffer punishment for things not going according to plan.
  • Smug Snake: Always ready to flaunt to everyone "how smart they (she and her mother) are". A trait that makes her intolerable for both their prisoners and her mother for taking part of the credit when she didn't really deserve any.
  • Spoiled Brat: Despite this, she is still fiercely loyal to her mother.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Scowlette is all about pleasing mommy, at any cost. Any cost.
  • Yandere: She was willing to kill to please her mother. Also because she shared her desires.

    Professor Grimace
  • Co-Dragons: With Scowlette as while not royalty, he is the most intelligent adult around. Which was a dubious honour considering how often they bore the brunt of her wrath.
  • Mad Scientist: The inventor of all devices and weapons of the Queen.
