Heroes
Kimberly Ann "Kim" Possible
Kim Possible is a teenage girl starting her first year of high school. At some unstated point prior, she had answered an online call for help which began a career as a crimefighter along with her best friend and sidekick, Ron Stoppable.
- Adaptational Modesty: She lacks the same midriff-exposing putfit outfit as her show counterpart.
- Action Girl: She's already a seasoned crimefighter as she's entering her freshman years, having stopped 14 criminals that year alone.
- All-Loving Hero: Even after Athena reveals herself to have been manipulating Kim the whole time, Kim still thinks of her as a friend and refuses to leave her behind in Drakken's lair until she has no other choice.
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She has a terrible fear of electric eels.
Ronald "Ron" Stoppable
Ron Stoppable is Kim Possible's best friend and sidekick in crimefighting.
- Luck-Based Search Technique: Kim asks Wade to find a way to blow up Dementor's lair and destroy the slime. Before she can finish asking the question, Ron leans on the Big Red Button to trigger the Self-Destruct Mechanism.
- Nerdy Nasalness: Ron is given a more nasally voice than he has in the cartoon. He's a nerdy Unlucky Everydude in a Cool Kid-and-Loser Friendship with Kim.
Wade
Wade is the young computer-whiz accomplice of Team Possible. Though he rarely leaves his room, he provides Kim and Ron with numerous gadgets for their missions.
- Child Prodigy: Wade has already earned a college degree in spite of being a kid.
- Gadgeteer Genius: He makes all of Kim and Ron's gear.
Rufus
Rufus is the pet of Ron Stoppable and formerly a lab experiment.
- Adaptational Backstory Change: The film has Ron finding an already-adult Rufus in a lab, rather than Ron buying an infant Rufus at Smarty Mart when he was younger.
- Mythology Gag: The molerat really is CGI.
Athena
Athena is a student new to Middleton High School who became best friends to Kim Possible & Ron Stoppable.
- Always Someone Better: She proves to be this to Kim, which quickly gets under her skin. She's "absorbing" Kim's skills and abilities as part of Drakken's scheme.
- Becoming the Mask: Athena was supposed to help destroy Kim from the inside out, but she ended up genuinely befriending her.
- Canon Foreigner: Athena is a character who was created for the movie.
- Composite Character: Of Monique, as Kim's closest friend, and "Eric"/Synthodrone #901 as an android created by Drakken to infiltrate and disrupts Kim's life.
- Heel–Face Turn: Despite Athena being created to gain Kim's trust and then betray her, she genuinely befriends Kim to the point of revealing her artificial nature and urging Kim to escape before Drakken can spring his trap. After she is recovered from the wreckage of Drakken's lair and reassembled, she is purged of Drakken's "evil programming".
- Walking Spoiler: The fact that she's a cybertronic humanoid created to be The Mole for Drakken.
Mrs. Possible
Kim's mother, a brain surgeon.
- Adaptational Badass: She has a black belt and accompanies Kim and Ron to confront Drakken. Mrs. Possible's comments while trapped by Drakken further implies that she used to do her own share of adventuring in the past. In the original show, she was slightly out of her depth when she replaced Ron and accompanied her daughter on a mission.
- Unnamed Parent: The show revealed her first name to be "Anne" in the series finale, but the movie never refers to her by that name.
"Nana"
Kim's maternal grandmother.
- Related Differently in the Adaptation: "Nana" as portrayed in Kim Possible is not the mother of Mr. Possible, but rather the mother of Mrs. Possible, who refers to her as "Mom".
Villains
Dr. Drakken
Dr. Drakken is an evil Mad Scientist plotting to take over the world, and the main nemesis of Kim Possible.
- Abusive Parent: Drakken created Athena, and considering he was going to eighty-six her after her abilities are transferred into him, he's not getting any "father of the year" awards any time soon.
- Big Bad: After having been previously put in jail by Kim, he plots revenge against her.
- Fountain of Youth: When the transfer device gets damaged, he gets reverted into a preteen.
- Just Between You and Me: After capturing Team Possible in an array of energy beams, Drakken can't resist gloating:Drakken: That forcefield is 100% inescapable. Why? Because the off switch is all the way up there!
(He indicates a Big Red Button mounted high on the wall)
Shego: (annoyed) Don't tell them where it is!
Shego
Shego is Dr. Drakken's primary sidekick.
- Adaptational Superpower Change: Shego's ability to shoot green energy from her hands has been retooled. According to the cartoon, it's an inherent superpower she gained from a comet. In the movie, she emits energy blasts from devices worn on her wrists. This is actually a return to the original character concept — supplemental materials dating to the first season state that her powers come from her gloves, but this was never mentioned in any episode.
- The Dragon: Drakken's chief minion.
- Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Shego questions why Kim would be so determined to save Athena after learning that Athena has been lying to her since the moment they met.
Professor Dementor is one of Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable's enemies.
- Embarrassing Superpower: When Professor Dementor tests the dissolving slime, he is initially jubilant... until the stuff turns pink and sparkly.Professor Dementor: I cannot take over ze vorld vith ze pink und ze sparkles! Everybody will make ze fun!
- Falling into Jail: His escape pod is hacked by Wade, resulting in him being delivered to the police.
- Starter Villain: Shows up for the Action Prologue, where he's foiled by Kim and Ron.
