Protagonists

    The Traveler (Ein)
Voiced by: Chiaki Kobayashi (Japanese, Male), Sayaka Senbongi (Japanese, Female), Shai Matheson (English, Male)

The Player Character of Harvestella.

  • All-Loving Hero: Treats the Omens, who are regarded by virtually everyone else in the world with suspicion at best, with as much kindness as everyone else.
  • Chaste Hero: They bond deeply with their party members, but never romance anyone, not even Aria.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: The side quests they can accept in the game range from helping all sorts of people with all sorts of problems, big and small—whether adult, child, or Omen, they can spend the precious hours of their day helping just about anyone.
  • Friend to All Children: Tends to get along extremely well with children. Possibly because they're rather child-like themselves; see below.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: They're given the default name of Ein, but the player can name them whatever they choose within a ten character limit.
  • Heroic Mime: Other than dialogue options you pick, and voice grunts in combat, they never speak.
  • Manchild: Quite a few of their possible dialogue choices slant in this direction, especially when interacting with actual children.

     Aria
Voiced by: Rika Tachibana (Japanese), Emma Ballantine (English)

A girl who apparently crash-landed into the world of HARVESTELLA from another time. They begin to bond with the Traveler over their shared sense of being a fish-out-of-water (and the fact that they saved her when she got in over her head early on her own) becoming their roommate at Bird's Eye Brae.

  • Fish out of Temporal Water: Their situation when they and the Traveler first meet. Their clothes have a definite modern look to them, compared to the Traveler or natives.

Other Party Members

    Dianthus
Voiced by: Yuko Kaida (Japanese)

An Omen opposed to Geist's plans for the world, and the first of their kind that the player meets.

  • The Bus Came Back: Leaves the player's party after Chapter 2, since they only intended a temporary alliance anyway, but rejoins in Chapter 4 after challenging the Traveler and their party to prove their resolve, to serve as their guide in Castle Lewis AKA the Castle Of Illusion. Thankfully, they're at their full strength at this point, which while not as strong as when they're fought as a miniboss, it's enough to more or less keep up with the level grinding you've done by this point.

    Asyl
Voiced by: Kengo Kawanishi (Japanese)

    Istina
Voiced by: Rina Sato (Japanese)

    Emo
Voiced by: Reina Ueda (Japanese)
  • Combat Medic: Her special skill is one of the very few ways to heal in combat without using items.
  • Cute Mute: Is this initially, courtesy of a gem that would allow her to speak with humans being held hostage by the tavern's landlord. She gets it back at the end of the Shatolla arc.
  • Last of Its Kind: As all other Sirens are revealed to have disappeared and their regrets merged into Lorelei, she is the last Siren on Regaia
  • Magic Music: Her attacks and the skills used by her class revolve around attacking and supporting with songs.
  • Making a Splash: Her attacks and most Woglinde skills deal Wave elemental damage.
  • Shout-Out: Her class is named Woglinde, and her special skill Rhinemaiden.
  • Verbal Tic: Tends to say "Meep!" when scared or surprised.

    Heine
Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai (Japanese)
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Is quite the flirt at times, but is still an emotionally intelligent person who has a sense of valor and genuinely cares about his friends.
  • Cool Boat: The Fiasola, a submarine of his own making that he uses to ferry the party to the Coral Shrine and features heavily in his personal story.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: He's an inventor who fights with a mechanical pile bunker.
  • The Lost Lenore: In a platonic example, the original Fiasola, who was his rival and fellow inventor and explorer. Her disappearance greatly affected him, as is revealed in his story.
  • This Is a Drill: His special skill turns his weapon into a drill, dealing dozens of strikes to the target.

    Brakka
Voiced by: Kōki Uchiyama (Japanese)

  • Arch-Enemy: The Hallowed Amadeus, which he spends the first part of his personal story chasing.
  • Immortal Breaker: His weapon is one of the few that can kill a Hallowed permanently, though it only happens in cutscenes.
  • La RĂ©sistance: Is initially a freedom fighter opposing the Church. He ends up working alongside them after he befriends Shrika and the Church is freed from Kierkegaard's influence.
  • The Gunslinger: Wields a rifle and unlocks the gun-toting Avenger class.
  • Tsundere: Will repeatedly asking the player character to not interfere in his affairs, only to put up little more than token resistance when they do actually show up.
  • Vengeance Feels Empty: Feels this way after learning that Amadeus has already been killed by the time he tracks him down.

    Shrika
Voiced by: Rie Murakawa (Japanese)
  • Badass Preacher: She's a high ranking member of the Church and can hold her own in battle.
  • Crisis of Faith: She goes through it twice: once when she discovers Kierkegaard's plans to use the Church to brainwash and devour the entire city, and another in her personal story after discovering the Holy Mother is a robot who set up the church to rein in the humans' violent tendencies.

Lethe Village

    Cres

The village doctor of Lethe, and the one who discovers the player's arrival in Lethe. Renowned enough that people sometimes travel from other towns for her remedies.

    Mayor

Nemea Town

Seaside Town, Shatolla

Holy Capitol Argene

Omens

Mysterious beings, clad head-to-toe in dark armor, who live separate from the normal villagers and townsfolk of the game's world.

    General

  • Not Evil, Just Misunderstood: The Omens as a race are regarded by the populace with suspicion at best, and fear or outright hatred at worst. Several times, however, the Traveler discovers Omen who are acting suspiciously, but are only trying to help. There are exceptions, but most Omens in the game fall under this trope.
