     Abyssliese

Abyssliese or "Lise" is the protagonist of this work. They are the God of Wisdom and their congregation was the biggest before Tinirese took the power.
  • God of Knowledge: Lise is labelled as the God of Wisdom, which can also be observed in the Abyssinian prayer, involving knowledge a lot.
  • Horned Humanoid: Lise has horns on their head.
  • In-Series Nickname: While their name is originally Abyssliese, they prefer to be called "Lise".
  • The Leader: They are the hero of the game but also the leader of the group. Everyone acts according to what they say.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: For Theseus. When the priest reveals his identity and his past, he also explains how Lise is the reason why he doesn't feel lonely anymore and why his life became worth living, even before their awakening.
  • Older Than They Look: Lise looks like a child, despite being more than 200 years old.
  • The Promise: Later in the game, Lise promises that they won't leave Theseus alone, because of how important they are to each other. They also promise to Tinirese to take care of his congregation if he dies.
  • Why Can't I Hate You?: Despite expressing their frustration towards Tinirese multiple times in the story, Lise still can't bring themselves to fully hate Tinirese.

     Theseus
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_20230827_161802_103.jpg

The only remaining priest of the Abyssinian religion. He worships and adores Lise to a great extent and is extremely devoted to them. He's the one who took care of the temple before they woke up.

  • Brainy Brunette: During his time alone in the temple, he read many books and even managed to learn magic spells by himself.
  • Brutal Honesty: Often directed to Jig, making Theseus often come across as extremely rude.
  • Combat Medic: In battles, Theseus' main role is to heal the other characters, however, unlike Ellie, who only heals, he can also attack demons.
  • Exhausted Eyebags: You can see on his sprites that he has eyebags, probably due to him constantly cleaning and taking care of the temple on his own.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: For Lise. They are constantly aftaid of being alone and lonely, so Theseus' existence keeps them going, to the point where they don't try to discover Theseus true identity at first, in fear of losing him.
  • Lovable Coward: While claiming himself to be "careful", he is actually extremely fearful of almost everything (demons and he got also scared by Jig at the beginning) and he is pretty anxious in general.
  • Minor Living Alone: Theseus arrived in the Abyssinian temple when he was 7 years old, after escaping his village being attacked by Tinirese followers. He was all alone in it, so he learned magic spells and took care of the temple all by himself until Lise's awakening.

Humans

     Estea

She is a doctor who especially works in the field of divine illnesses. She is part of the Tinirese religion, but she fled from the temple to ask a request from Abyssliese.
  • Deadly Doctor: She is supposed to be a doctor who specializes in magic, but she reveals that she also works as an assassin.
  • Labcoat of Science and Medicine: While she isn't wearing an official lab coat, she does wear a long and white cloth that could be seen as one.

     Jig
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_08_18_110219.png
The priest of Yuura, the Goddess of Hunting. He's an intimidating looking man, but he's actually quite generous. He often complies to his goddess' commands despite being annoyed by them.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Jig will have a tendency to look after and help the ones who are (who seem) younger than him.
  • Big Eater: Theseus mentions that Jig eats quite a lot compared to everyone, which is why provisions are decreasing so fast. Jig admits it and apologizes for it.
  • Nice Guy: He may look scary or harsh, but he's actually one of the nicest and most compassionate characters. For example, while he is often exhausted by Yuura, he still didn't want to leave her alone. He also tries to befriend and understand Theseus, who mostly acts rude to him, he decides to donate goods to Karres after hearing his motivations, and he keeps company to Pico when she feels lonely.

     Karres
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_08_27_190816.png
A young and agile thief. He met Ellie by stealing her as a statue which saved her life. Despite his shady occupation, he is caring and friendly.
  • Blade Enthusiast: Karres fights with daggers and knives.
  • Chick Magnet: In the bonus room, Ellie worriedly says that Karres gets a lot of attention from the girls of the village.

  • The Glomp: In the second bonus room, Karres suddenly hugs Ellie.
  • Nice Guy: Many characters mention the generosity of Karres' during the game, such as Tristan or Jig. He indeed helps and protects Ellie a lot, raises and cares for some bugs, and so on.
  • Nervous Wreck: Downplayed. Usually, Karres is rather collected but some situations can lead to him panicking making him unable to speak or breathe properly, like when his bugs seemed unwell. Also, he almost constantly worries about his financial situation.
  • Rules of Orphan Economics: Since both of his parents are dead, Karres has to gain money in his own way.

Elitorde or "Ellie" is the Goddess of Stability and Fortune. She nearly died in her own temple if it wasn't for Karres taking her away from it. She is a gentle and generous Goddess, only having healing powers.
  • Big Sister Instinct: With Pico. She treats the latter like her little sister by trying to reason with some of her gimmicks. Pico also sees her as a big sister in exchange.

  • Book Worm: Just like Tristan, she reads a lot, ever since she was younger.
  • Genki Girl: With her rather childish personality, she mostly acts cheerful and outgoing.
  • Little Bit Beastly: She has small horns on her head.
  • Lord of the Ocean: She is the goddess of the Southern Seas.
  • Shipper on Deck: In the game, Pico will actively try to get Karres and Ellie together by helping Ellie listen to her feelings.

     Tinirese
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_08_14_142637.png
Tinirese or "Tinny" is a young God who was born in the same fountain as Lise. He one day decided to use his powers against every other god to seal them away and become the only God to be believed in. He is the antagonist of the game.
  • Fictional Disability: It is revealed later in the game that Tinirese suffers from a deadly disease caused by another God.
  • Hates Small Talk: In the bonus room, whenever a character tries to chat with him, he acts distant and annoyed. He says explicitly that he does not like to talk.
  • Horned Humanoid: Tinirese has horns on his head.
  • I Shall Taunt You: When Lise is fighting some battles, whether Tinirese is present or not, they can hear him trying to discourage them with hurtful and worrying words, like for example: how suspicious Theseus is.
  • The Cynic: A very pessimistic character in the first place, he often makes snarky comments, especially towards Lise and Theseus in the bonus room.
  • The Resenter: He always compared himself to Lise and always felt irritated by how they were doing much better than him with their congregation.
  • Sinister Scythe: In battles, Tinirese uses a large scythe along with magic spells.

     Tristan
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_08_21_110351.png
The God of the Northern Seas and a close friend of Pico's. He is wise, knowledgeable and the oldest amongst all of the gods, doing things at his own pace.
  • Book Worm: He reads a lot, even during battle as Pico points out, which can sometimes put him in danger.
  • Eyes Always Shut: On his sprites and other illustrations, Tristan appears to have his eyes constantly closed.
  • Lord of the Ocean: He is the god of the Northern Seas.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Tristan has scales on some parts of his body. They originate from his previous form, which was a dragon.
  • Were Dragon: As he previously was a spirit before, he was able to, just like Liam, turn into a dragon. It is unknown whether he can still do it as a god or not.

     Yuura
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_08_18_110157.png
Yuurakiet or "Yuura" is the Goddess of Hunting. She is a very demanding and blunt goddess, often treating Jig, her own priest, like a servant. She is however a very close friend of Lise's.
  • Big Eater: In a conversation between Jig and Theseus, it is revealed that Yuura is part of the reason why they often run short on food.
  • Brutal Honesty: Yuura has a rather sharp tongue.
  • Hot God: It was mentioned by followers of Yuura and Jig himself that she is attractive.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: Yuura's weapon is a bow.
  • This Is Unforgivable!!: While the other characters still feel sympathy for Tinirese, Yuura expresses clearly her disdain towards him and his actions, regardless of his reasons.

Other

     Spirit of the Fountain/ Liam
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_08_27_191213.png
The Spirit of the Holy Fountain Lise and Tinirese came from. Basically, the "mother" of those two. In one of the endings, she manages to save Tinirese.
  • Were Dragon: As a spirit, she has the ability to turn into a dragon, as seen in the final fight in the bonus room.

     Wine
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_08_28_135725.png
An actually nice demon. His origins are unknown, but he comes mainly from the Sacred Wine that is stored in the temple. He is as devoted to Abyssliese as Theseus.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: Wine, as his name indicates, is supposed to be just wine. However he is now alive in the form of a mix of demon and wine due to Theseus accidentally spilling his blood in one of the sacred wine barrels.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": Wine is quite literally... Wine.
  • Big Brother Instinct: In the bonus room, Wine gets closer to the Hungry God and sees him as a younger brother.
  • Prone to Tears: While being rather cheerful, Wine will also happen to tear up many times, as pointed out by Theseus.
