@ReynTime: It was done by a troper who (at the time) apparently had a problem with the idea of consensus. I'd say feel free to revert it back, unless someone has an objection.

For Not Hyperbole, suggest this from the quote page:

"When someone says 'We've got people everywhere', you expect it to be hyperbole! Lots of people say that. Florists use that expression. It doesn't mean that they've got somebody working for them inside the bloody room!"

It was on the page for a long time. Looking at the history, it was changed over two years ago with no reason given.

@lalalei2001: The description for All Blue Entry doesn't say "don't do that except in certain areas", so on general principle I'd say to un-blue (so to speak) that entry.

Proposition to swap out the current page quote of Beauty Is Best for the Trump one its quote page. I think it's more accurate to the trope, as it outright says that it really is beauty society considers best, whereas the current could be read as saying that women just always need to be beautiful. Also, it's funny because the President said it.

Current:

Even if she's a damned candidate for the Supreme Court, the female always has a dual role: to function as a person, and to act as decor. And we get pissed if she doesn't do her job.

Suggested replacement:

Nobody cares about the talent. There's only one talent you care about, and that's the look talent. You don't give a shit if a girl can play a violin like the greatest violinist in the world. You want to know what does she look like.

On Evil All Along:

Spoiler tags in the page quote... seriously?

Do we just remove the spoiler tags, or do the quote just not fit and should be removed altogether?

Nobody's That Dumb: This seems overly long. Also it had a hottip that I don't think it was relying on for needed context but maybe someone who doesn't already know what it said should confirm/deny that.

e: Personally I think we could trim it to

Burger King Cashier: Welcome to Burger King. May I take your order?
Hooper: We're C.I.A. agents, and we require asylum. You know, 'cause this is American soil?
Burger King Cashier: I grew up in a pile of straw. The only education I have is one week of Burger King training, and even I know that's not how the international justice system works.

and it that would be fine.

Conversational Troping's quote seems more like Discussed Trope, as it's not idle chatter, but actually relates to the situation at hand?

->"This is like one of those sitcoms where somebody says something that's misconstrued and the snooty next door neighbor got the wrong package delivered after his in-laws come to visit, somebody has two dates at one night and they have to paint white lines on the middle of the room, but this isn't a sitcom, Perry the Platypus, this is real life."

Not sure whether it is necessary to post here for this but I will to make sure.

I am thinking of changing the current quote on the Necromunda page from the current rather bland one:

Can't fight muties in the dark.

To one from the first page of the latest rulebook:

Beware the shadows of the Hive, where only the strongest endure...

Would this be okay?

[up][up] - Move it over then and replace with this?

Mom doesn't understand comic books. She doesn't realize that comic books deal with serious issues of the day. Today's superheroes face tough moral dilemmas. Comic books aren't just escapist fantasy. They're sophisticated social critiques.

The Presidents have multiple quotes. I figured we could go over the quotes for each president and decide on which ones to keep:

"James Monroe's colossal nose, was bigger than Pinocchio's."
Animaniacs, "The Presidents Song"

"My name is Monroe. James Monroe. And here's a taste of the Monroe Doctrine."

"Martin Van Buren was known as something of a free-spending dandy, favoring brightly colored vests and ascots and strange, luminous waistcoats. Only later did we find out that this was because he was a Time Lord."

"Van Buren served one term, but he wasn't bad."
—"The Presidents", by Jonathan Coulton.

"As Vice President, Tyler drowned President Harrison in an Executives Only bathing pond. Everyone suspected a Savage assassin, and Tyler assumed the throne of America, along with the empty husband/father position in Harrison's grieving family. Tyler's achievements were overshadowed by his apparent disbelief in witches, which lead to his transformation into one of the rare breeds of horse that Congress then had deemed fuckable by law. Strange time, huh?"
The Professor Brothers' liberal interpretation of Tyler's term as President

John Tyler: Doctor, I am going.
Tyler's doctor: I hope not, sir.
John Tyler: Perhaps it is best.
John Tyler's Last Words.

"If you are as happy to be accepting this office as I am to be leaving it, then you are a very happy man."
James Buchanan "welcoming" Abraham Lincoln.

"Meanwhile the nation's chief executive, James Buchanan, did nothing."
Ken Burns, "The Civil War"

"There are some who lack confidence in the integrity and capacity of the people to govern themselves. To all who entertain such fears I will most respectfully say that I entertain none... If a man is not capable, and is not to be trusted with the government of himself, is he to be trusted with the government of others... Who, then, will govern? The answer must be, Man — for we have no angels in the shape of men, as yet, who are willing to take charge of our political affairs."
Andrew Johnson

"This Johnson is a queer man."
Abraham Lincoln on Johnson

"I think I am a verb instead of a personal pronoun. A verb is anything that signifies to be; to do; to suffer. I signify all three."
Ulysses S. Grant, from a note written a few days before his death

"Let us have peace."
—Grant's campaign slogan.

"Assassination can be no more guarded against than death by lightning; it is best not to worry about either."
James A. Garfield

Garfield: Old boy! Do you think my name will have a place in human history?
Rockwell: Yes, a grand one, but a grander one in human hearts. Old fellow, you mustn’t talk in that way. You have a great work yet to perform.
Garfield: No. My work is done.
—Conversation between Garfield and his secretary, Colonel Almon F. Rockwell, the day before he died. These have been reported as his last spoken words.

"We Americans have no commission from God to police the world."
Benjamin Harrison

"He is a coldblooded, narrow-minded, prejudiced, obstinate, timid old psalm-singing Indianapolis politician."

"With impressive proof on all sides of magnificent progress, no one can rightly deny the fundamental correctness of our economic system."
Herbert Hoover in 1928, one year before The Great Depression began.

"For six years that man has given me unsolicited advice—all of it bad."

[up]In general I think it's better to go with quotes the president in question actually said for those pages. I'd be willing to make an exception for the "Meanwhile, James Buchanan did nothing" one, since it's just such a pithy summary of his place (or lack thereof) in history, but I'm not passionate about it.
