Creator: UbiSoft

"StarGate, Ubisoft, Sparkle!"

Ubisoft is a video game publisher and developer headquartered in Montreuil-sous-Bois, France, with branches in 20 different countries, including the United States, Canada, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and China. Their games have appeared on a wide variety of platforms since the early 1990's.

They have set sights on becoming the next Electronic Arts, to the point that at one time in the past, that very company attempted to buy them and bury their IPs like they had many others. Unlike EA, however, Ubisoft has no small degree of Creator Worship, especially after Rayman Origins. That's assuming that consoles are your platform of choice though. Ubisoft has done much to distance themselves from PC gamers with highly controversial consumer-unfriendly always-online DRM schemes. After a few years of constant anger coming from the PC fanbase, Ubisoft finally backed down from most of the DRM schemes and removed it from most, but sadly not all, of their games. Despite that, PC gamers today still tend to look askance at anything with the Ubisoft label out of bad memories and distrust. On consoles, however, Ubisoft has a pretty solid reputation, thanks to several big I Ps that have (generally) consistent high-quality. However, events during 2014 such as Assassin's Creed Unity and its horrific launch and Watch Dogs and the graphics scandal has made many fans bitter and skeptical of Ubisoft products.

Since 2008, they have also owned visual effects company Hybride Technologies, and also had a hand in the films Avatar and Predators.
