    Anne Boonchuy/Kamen Rider Amp

Anne Savisa Boonchuy/Kamen Rider Amp

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rider_anne.jpg
"Kamen Rider Amp… I think I like it, too."
A 13-year-old Thai girl who was accidentally transported to Amphibia by a mysterious musical box. While traveling to the city of Newtopia to find a way to go home, Anne starts to develop strange powers, eventually becoming a Kamen Rider like in the shows her friend Marcy showed her, Kamen Rider Amp, the Calamity of Heart.
  • Adaptational Badass: Until the end of Season 2, Anne was a Badass Normal, but in this fic, she gains Kamen Rider powers and is able to accomplish a lot of feats. She also knows Muay Thai thanks to taking lessons ever since she was a kid.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Anne was close friends with Marcy and Sasha in the show, but over time, they all start dating each other.
  • Battle Couple: She becomes this with Marcy (and later Sasha) once they start dating.
  • Clone Angst: Because a copy of her was created after dying, Anne starts to have shades of these.
  • Cool Bike: Amp’s motorcycle is called Machine Stormer, which has wheels made of lightning. After Frobo, the robot who usually stores the bike, is destroyed by King Andrias, Anne gains a new bike with the same abilities which she dubs Machine Stormer 2.
  • Fast as Lightning: Amp's electrical powers give her brief bursts of super speed.
  • Heroic Mime: Before she gains full control over her powers, Anne says nothing when she transforms into Amp.
  • Meaningful Name: Anne calls herself “Amp” after the unit used to measure electricity and because she discovered her powers in Amphibia.
  • Multiform Balance: Anne gains access to several forms over the course of the story:
  • Shock and Awe: Anne gains electrical powers thanks to her Calamity Gem.
    Sprig Plantar

Sprig Plantar

The first friend Anne made in Amphibia, Sprig wants to do whatever it takes to help her get home.
  • Adaptational Badass: Sprig manages to teach himself Muay Thai, which he used during his fight against Beatrix.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Sprig is much more hostile to Marcy and Sasha in this fic, and tends to jump to conclusions before he can get their side of the story.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Sprig and Ivy eventually start dating Maddie in this fic.
  • Evil Laugh: Played for Laughs when Sprig lets out a very exaggerated one of these while writing down his plans for “Operation: Sashannarcy Downfall”.
  • Jerkass to One: While Sprig gets over his distrust of Marcy, it's harder for him to really forgive Sasha after her betrayal.
  • Kryptonite Ring: Sasha gives Sprig a dart laced with a powerful poison to use on her in the event that she snaps or becomes evil. She chose to give it to Sprig because she doesn't believe Grime could do it.
  • Properly Paranoid: Sprig plans to stop Anne and Marcy from becoming a “throuple” with Sasha because he doesn’t trust her without considering the fact that Anne and Marcy have grown to trust Sasha. Of course, like the other characters, Sprig is completely unaware that Sasha plans to betray Anne and Marcy once they make it back to Newtopia.
  • Shipper on Deck: Zig-Zagged. While Sprig was initially distrusting of Marcy, he grew to become a huge supporter of MarcAnne and even helped them get together with the help of Wartwood’s citizens... but he’s so supportive to the point where when Anne and Marcy started dating Sasha, he formulated a plan to ruin Sasha’s first dates with Anne and Marcy in order to “protect” MarcAnne. He does thankfully come around to it, though he is tied up while the Wartwood Resistance works together to help Anne and Sasha get back together.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Sprig is initially paranoid of Marcy thanks to his negative experience with Sasha, and tries to back up his claims that Marcy might be planning to betray them by bringing up the concept of evil Kamen Riders. Of course, once Marcy saves him, he starts to change his mind.
    Polly Plantar

Polly Plantar

Sprig’s little sister who, while having a habit of picking fights she can’t win, is arguably more sensible than her brother.
  • Baby Of The Bunch: Polly is the youngest member of the Plantar family, and by extention, the youngest of the main characters.
  • Only Sane Tadpole: While Sprig is heavily opposed to Anne growing closer with Marcy and Sasha, Polly is more open to Anne’s friends (and later girlfriends), and actively tries to stop Sprig from breaking up Sashannarcy.
    Hop Pop

Hopediah "Hop Pop" Plantar

Sprig and Polly’s grandfather who took them in after their parents were killed by a heron attack.
  • Brutal Honesty: Compared to the others, Hop Pop will simply ask Anne questions about her love life, like when she and Sasha are going to get back together.
  • Deep South: He talks in a deep southern accent, which is conveyed by the text having him pronounce certain words in a southern drawl, like “Ah” instead of “I”.
  • Team Dad: Hop Pop is the oldest character in the main cast, and he does his best to maintain a sense of authority over his grandkids.
    Marcy Wu/Kamen Rider Ranger

Marcy Regina Wu/Kamen Rider Ranger

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rider_marcy.jpg
"I am the swift winds of justice, Kamen Rider Ranger!"
One of Anne’s two best friends who was transported to Amphibia with her. Marcy ended up in the high-class city of Newtopia, and quickly worked her way up the ranks to become the Chief Ranger of the Newtopian Night Guard. Like Anne and Sasha, Marcy was imbued with the power of the Calamity Gems and can transform into the Calamity of Mind, Kamen Rider Ranger.
  • 100% Heroism Rating: Marcy is near-universally beloved by the citizens of Newtopia, not just for her exploits as Kamen Rider Ranger, but also for the architectural advances she helped make.
  • Abnormal Ammo: Ranger’s weapon, the Squall Sniper, converts the molecules in the air into energy bolts.
  • The Ace: Compared to Anne and Sasha, Marcy has the least trouble controlling her powers. While Anne had only had her powers for a few weeks before reuniting with Marcy, Marcy had control over them for months.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Marcy was close friends with Anne and Sasha in the show, but over time, they all start dating each other.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Being the biggest fan of Kamen Rider out of the three girls, getting to live out her dreams of becoming a hero is something Marcy loves.
  • Ascended Extra: Marcy gains more prominence in canon thanks to being a Kamen Rider.
  • Battle Couple: She becomes this with Anne (and later Sasha) once they start dating.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Marcy is usually pretty easygoing, but if you piss her off, she will absolutely destroy you. Just ask the poor Ratel Fallen who ruined a romantic moment between Marcy and Anne.
Marcy/Kamen Rider Ranger: You ruined what was possibly the most beautiful and romantic moment of my life... And that’s why, you have to be destroyed for your transgressions.
  • Blow You Away: Ranger has power over the element of air.
  • Cool Bike: Ranger’s motorcycle is called Machine Zefyr, which has wheels made of condensed air, allowing her to drive in the air in addition to he ground.
  • Encyclopaedic Knowledge: When Sprig is confused by why Marcy thinks it’s weird to have feelings for Anne (unfamiliar with the concept of homophobia), Marcy gives Sprig a long-winded explanation about the history of same-sex relationships on Earth.
  • Grand Theft Me: Just like in canon, she is possessed by The Night/The Core.
  • Gratuitous Foreign Language: When Marcy gets really serious, she will speak in Chinese.
  • Multiform Balance:
    Frobo/Strike Frobo

Frobo/Strike Frobo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/strike_frobo.jpg
A robot Polly befriends that contains Machine Stormer when not in use.
  • Adaptational Badass: Frobo already got a major upgrade in canon, but here, he gains even more weapons and a cockpit for Polly to sit in.
  • Connected All Along: Frobo stores away Machine Stormer, Amp’s motorcycle, when she doesn’t use it.
  • Expy: Strike Frobo is themed after a Gundam.
    Sasha Waybright/Kamen Rider Bellona

Sasha Elizabeth Waybright/Kamen Rider Bellona

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rider_sasha.jpg
“Like I said, Grimesy. I am in control. And the name is Bellona.”
Anne’s other friend who was transported to Amphibia, eventually becoming the First Lieutenant of Captain Grime’s toad army. Not long after a falling out with Anne over the fate of Wartwood, Sasha’s Calamity powers start to awaken, becoming the Calamity of Strength, Kamen Rider Bellona.
    Captain Grime

Captain Grimothy “Grime”

The former captain of Toad Tower now on the run, Grime is planning a revolution against the ruling class of Amphibia so the toads will become the ones in charge.
    Domino 2/Tempest

Domino 2/Tempest

A "Kill-a-moth" who Anne cared for prior to becoming a Kamen Rider. The two eventually reunite, and she becomes Kamen Rider Amp's third vehicle, Tempest.
  • 11th-Hour Ranger: She joins the team right before the final battle with Andrias and the Night.
  • Adaptational Badass: Domino 2 was already a dangerous predator for frogs like the Plantars, but after reconnecting with Anne, she gains more power as Tempest.
  • Bond Creatures: Anne reconnects with Domino 2, which is how she is able to empower him with Calamity Gem energy when she transforms.
  • King of Beasts: Tempest's roar is a mixture of lightning and a lion's roar.
  • Sapient Steed: Tempest serves as Amp's ride after the loss of the first two Machine Stormers.
  • Shock and Awe: Just like Amp, Domino 2 has these powers as Tempest.
  • Tornado Move: Tempest and Amp's combination attack involves finishing off their opponent with a lightning tornado.

Wartwood/The Wartwood Resistance

     One-Eyed Wally

Walliam "One-Eyed Wally" Ribbiton

A secretly wealthy socialite who prefers to live in Amphibia as a vagrant.
  • Crazy-Prepared: When the Nocturne Filios cult attacks a fancy ball in Newtopia, Anne asks Wally (who was in attendance that night) if he has any boom shrooms on him, to which he reveals he has some inside his suit.
  • Secret-Keeper: For a very brief time, he becomes the only resident of Wartwood outside of the Plantars to know Anne is Kamen Rider Amp, if only because he’s been staying at Newtopia for the past few weeks.
    Ivy Sundew

Ivy Hibiscus Matcha Sundew

Sprig’s close friend turned girlfriend who may have feelings for someone else too.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: In canon, Ivy showed no feelings for anyone other than Sprig, but here, she is shown to have no problem flirting with Maddie. This is best shown during the play set up for Anne and Marcy on their date, where Ivy kisses Maddie, and she seems to enjoy it. She eventually agrees to date Maddie and Sprig at the same time.
Maddie: What the heck?! I thought we were fake kissing!
Ivy: We gotta sell it! 'Sides, it wasn't that bad.
  • Ascended Extra: While not the degree of some other characters in this fic, Ivy has a slightly bigger role than she does normally, like when she takes part in Sprig’s plan to help MarcAnne get together.
    Maddie Flour

Maddie Four

A young girl in Wartwood with a passion for magic.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: In canon, Maddie and Sprig remained friends after the former broke off their engagement, but here, Maddie starts dating both Sprig and Ivy.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: While Maddie only had feelings for Sprig in canon, she eventually shows attraction to Ivy, hinting that she could be bisexual or pansexual.
  • Who Writes This Crap?!: During a play put on for Anne and Marcy chronicling their adventures, Maddie doesn’t give her best performance as Marcy because of how cringy she finds the dialogue to be.
Ivy: Marcy, I’ll always be by your side.
    Maddie: ...
Ivy: C’mon, Maddie, say your line!
Maddie: (groans) And I’ll always... ugh... love you, Anne.
    Mayor Toadstool

Mayor Frodrick Toadstool

The greedy Mayor of Wartwood who likes to come up with ways to make more money.
  • Let No Crisis Go to Waste: A non-lethal example. As soon as Toadstool sees Anne transform into Amp for the first time, he makes plans with Toady to start creating Kamen Rider Amp merchandise, much to Anne’s dismay.
Anne: Maybe I should’ve gotten a lawyer, I’m pretty sure I should be getting royalties or something?
  • Pet the Dog: When Sprig rallies the citizens of Wartwood to help make sure Anne and Marcy have a great first date, Toadstool bursts into tears before agreeing to help Sprig out.

The Night and Its Followers

    The Night (UNMARKED SPOILERS)

The Night/The Core/Darcy/Kamen Rider Terminus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rider_darcy.jpg
"That is because I am The Night. But in this form, you can call me Kamen Rider Terminus, the end of the line."
A collection of Amphibia’s greatest minds preserved in a robotic collective, empowered by a mysterious substance called Dark Ichor, which gave it magical powers. Now, they have the ability to transform the people and wildlife of Amphibia into deadly monsters called Fallen.
  • Adaptational Badass:
    • The Core was already an incredibly deadly and calculating villain, but thanks to the Dark Ichor, it has access to supernatural abilities too. After possessing Marcy, the Core isn’t bound by the cable which led to its defeat at the hands of Sasha in canon (and can even take it off without losing control over Marcy's body), and becoming a Kamen Rider makes them near unstoppable.
    • During the final battle with the three Calamity Riders, the Core managed to transform its moon form into a giant robot and then infusing it with Dark Ichor. This new form gave it a healing factor and made it capable of holding its own against them, including Amp with the full power of all three Calamity Gems.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul:
    • Oddly enough, this is a case where it applies to a Hive Mind of all things. In canon, Darcy served as the avatar for the Core and did most of the talking with the occasional mention of Aldrich. In this story, Aldrich and Darcy are shown communicating with each other more often and tend to get into disagreements on what kinds of strategies they should use to accomplish their goals.
    • Since Marcy has feelings for Anne, Darcy is more considerate of Anne and worries about her, albeit in a more possessive way. It's because of these feelings that the Core decides to delete Darcy from their hive mind.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Like Marcy, Darcy has feelings for Anne and Sasha.
  • Big Bad: Of the entire story.
  • Blood Knight: After making Marcy its vessel, Darcy is very eager to show off her new powers as a Kamen Rider.
  • Cool Bike: Terminus’ motorcycle is called Machine Razer, a bike made from the Core’s technology that mimics the ones the other Riders have.
  • Eldritch Abomination: The Night's true form is a gigantic robotic creature infused with Dark Ichor with multiple tentacles, wings, and eyes. Ranger, Amp, and Bellona are understandably horrified by this form.
Marcy/Kamen Rider Ranger: What in the H. P. Lovecraftian heck...
Sasha/Kamen Rider Bellona: ... WHAT THE ACTUAL F--!!!
  • Even Evil Has Standards: While it's partially motivated by her feelings for Anne, Darcy is still horrified by the Core using the Omega Protocol because it could wipe out Amphibia in addition to the Calamity Gems.
  • Evil Counterpart: Terminus is one to the other Calamity Riders.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Do you really expect someone called Kamen Rider Terminus to be a friendly person?
  • Robot Wizard: The Core is a hive mind of Amphibia’s greatest minds preserved through technology, but with the Dark Ichor, it becomes this trope as the Night.
  • Talking to Themself: Since Darcy is a separate conscious from both the Core and Marcy, she has the capability to do this, best shown when the other minds in the Core scold her for almost letting Anne poison her.
The Core: You should’ve killed her. You came too close to letting her debilitate us.
Darcy: Please, I was in complete control of the situation. I knew something was up when she started to act like she didn’t want to defend everyone and tried to "seduce" me. Not going to lie, that was fun. And I was hoping she was going to do something, well, other than poison me. Heh-heh.
The Core: Do not let your desires get ahead of the objective. We need to conquer Earth. We need its resources to replenish what we lost. We need to find the Dark Dimension, again. And only then can the full conquest of the multiverse, our sacred birthright, recommence.
  • We Can Rule Together: Darcy says this as part of her marriage proposal to Anne.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Right before initiating the Omega Protocol, the Core deletes Darcy from its hive mind, having grown tired of her obsession with Anne.
    King Andrias Leviathan

King Andrias Leviathan

The ruler of Newtopia, the capital of Amphibia. While he is seemingly a benevolent ruler, he is actually in league with the Night.
    Cloak Bot

Cloak Bot

A robot assassin created by Andrias to kill Anne while she’s back on Earth with the Plantars.
  • Adaptational Badass: Cloak Bot is armed with the same substance used to create the Fallen, and is capable of adapting to any form Amp takes on.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Cloak Bot is designed with the ability to adapt to whatever form Kamen Rider Amp takes on, and only Kamen Rider Amp. When Anne is knocked out of her Rider form, Cloak Bot chooses to revert to its default form, making it vulnerable to the Plantars’ sneak attack.
    The Android (UNMARKED SPOILERS)

Darcy

While it seemed like the Core had deleted her from its Hive Mind, Darcy had secretly downloaded her consciousness onto the Memory Gaia Memory given to her by Director Keisuke. After setting up shop on Dawnblood Island, Darcy created a new android body for herself to use, now set on reuniting with Anne... that is, the Anne she isn't currently making a clone of.
  • Dragon Ascendant: Now that the Core is gone, Darcy is free to work on conquering the multiverse herself.
  • Not Quite Dead: Darcy managed to survive being erased and now has her own body to use.
    Fallen
The monstrous servants of the Night sent to extinguish the Calamity Riders.

In General

  • 13 Is Unlucky: The emblem of the Fallen is thirteen eyes.
  • Animal Motifs: The fallen are all themed after various animals.
  • Anthropomorphic Transformation: The Fallen who weren’t citizens of Amphibia were wild animals transformed into them.
  • Fallen Angel: Another theme the Fallen share.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: Starting from Season 2, the Night starts making Fallen out of Robots.
  • Monster of the Week: They serve this role in the fic.
  • Suddenly Voiced: At first, the Fallen had a very one-track mind, only saying “Calamity of Heart/Strength/Mind”, but starting with the Ratel Fallen, they became capable of speaking in full sentences.
  • Was Once a Man: The Fallen are citizens of Amphibia transformed by a mysterious ritual.

Fox Fallen

A fox-themed Fallen who fights Amp, and the first of many Fallen she encounters as a Kamen Rider.

Roadrunner Fallen

A roadrunner-themed Fallen who fights Amp, who ends up being the first Fallen she fights using Machine Stormer.

Frog Fallen

A frog-themed Fallen created from Judro Hassleback of the Hassleback Gang

Cobra Fallen

A cobra-themed Fallen who fights Amp while she looks for the Plantars.
  • Outside-Context Problem: The main conflict of the chapter involves Anne needing to learn to hunt in order to track down the Plantars, but the Cobra Fallen makes things more complicated.
  • Poisonous Person: Being a cobra, it obviously has this ability.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: It’s a snake monster, and it’s very sinister.

Pangolin Fallen

A pangolin-themed Fallen who fights Amp at Quarreler’s Pass

Grizzly Fallen

A grizzly bear-themed Fallen who fights Bellona as she unlocks her Calamity powers.

Porcupine Fallen

A porcupine-themed Fallen who fights Bellona as she tries to gain control of her powers.

Roc Fallen

A roc-themed Fallen who fights Amp as she tries to gain control of her powers.
  • Breath Weapon: It can shoot a blast of energy from its mouth.
  • Roc Birds: The mythological creature this Fallen is based on.

Bombardier Fallen

A trio of bombardier beetle-themed Fallen who wiped out a colony of Barbari-Ants on the way to fight Amp and Ranger.
  • Always a Bigger Fish: The Barbari-Ants, who were so dangerous Newtopia had to shut its gates to defend itself, were easily slaughtered by these Fallen.
  • Arm Cannon: Ones that shoot acid at that.
  • Terrible Trio: The first time three Fallen have been seen working together.

Kabuto Fallen

A rhinoceros beetle-themed Fallen who fights Amp and Ranger in Newtopia.
  • Horn Attack: Being a beetle, this Fallen’s main form of fighting involves its horn.
  • Tough Beetles: The text’s initial description of this Fallen outright compares it to a bodybuilder.

Ratel Fallen

A honey badger-themed Fallen who was seemingly killed by Amp, only to survive and ruin a romantic moment between her and Marcy.
  • Bad Ol' Badger: It’s a badger Fallen, and it’s very bad.
  • Mighty Glacier: It’s a very tough fallen who manages to take a lot of blows like they’re nothing.
  • Mistaken Identity: Marcy initially assumes that it’s a skunk-themed fallen because she couldn’t get a good look at it in the dark, only to later realize it’s a honey badger-themed Fallen.
  • Not Quite Dead: Thanks to its immunity to poison, it managed to avoid dying at Amp’s hands.
  • Smelly Skunk: Averted, as it’s not a skunk like Marcy and Anne thought it was.
  • Wolverine Claws: Its preferred method of attacking.

Salamandar

Originally Lord Hufford Edenborough, the leader of a cult known as the Nocturne Filios, this Fallen attacked Amp and Ranger at a fancy ball.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: As Mr. Edenborough, he puts on a kind and caring facade, but he is far from the kind newt he presents himself as.
  • Fiery Salamander: He gains the ability to breathe purple fire as Salamandar.
  • Hate Sink: As soon as he became a Fallen, Mr. Edenborough showed his true colors as a violent and insane cultist.
  • That Man Is Dead: Salamandar does this after his “ascension”
Salamandar: I am no longer Hufford Edenborough anymore! I am Salamandar!
  • Villain with Good Publicity: Prior to the ball, Mr. Edenborough owned a private security firm, and was well respected by the community.

Chimera/Snake-Wolf Fallen

A snake/wolf hybrid Fallen who fights Amp at the Shopping Cart Smash.
  • Hybrid Monster: Being a chimera, it fits this trope.
  • Lightning Bruiser: It’s as fast as it is strong.
  • Super-Senses: Thanks to the snake tail, it’s able to feel the vibrations in the air right before Amp attacks.

Wolvidor Fallen

A wolverine/condor hybrid Fallen who fights Ranger at the Mind Temple.

Atlas Beetle Fallen

An atlas beetle-themed Fallen who fights Bellona as she deals with Mr. Ponds and Frog Soos.
  • Horn Attack: It can fire energy from its horns like a cannon.
  • Tough Beetles: Just like the Kabuto Fallen, the Atlas Beetle Fallen’s armor is incredibly tough.

Sand Liger Fallen

A sand liger-themed Fallen who fights Amp and Frobo in Wartwood.

Snake Fallen

A snake-themed Fallen who fights Ranger at the lake.

Wooly Mantis Fallen

A Wooly Mantis-themed Fallen who fights Amp at the Heart Temple.
  • Cruel Elephant: While it’s a mammoth/mantis hybrid, it definitely fits this description.
  • Our Giants Are Bigger: It’s about twenty feet, the largest Fallen ever fought up to this point.
  • Slaying Mantis: It uses deadly mantis blades in battle.

Chimera\Lion-Goat, Bat, and Wolverine Fallen

Three Fallen who fight Bellona, Amp, and Ranger at the Strength Temple.

Robot Fallen

A robotic Fallen created from one of Andrias’ robots.

Krampus Fallen

A Fallen created from an inflatable Santa Claus during a Christmas parade.
  • Adaptational Badass: The robot Santa Andrias used to attack Anne in canon becomes a Fallen here.
  • Bad Santa: It’s not exactly the friendly and caring Father Christmas.
  • Evil Counterpart: Oddly enough, to the actual Krampus. The Krampus mentioned in Bring Us Hope, Kamen Rider Witch! was a fair and reasonable demon who, while he punished misbehaving children, never took things too far with their punishments, and even wrote a letter to Luz helping her through a tough time in her life. This Krampus has none of those humanizing qualities, being nothing more than a soulless robot.
  • Krampus: Obviously.

Hydra Fallen

A hydra-themed Fallen who fights Amp and Bellona after the former returns to Amphibia.
  • Hydra Problem: Just like in mythology, Amp cuts off its heads while Bellona uses her fire to cauterize the wounds.
  • Our Hydras Are Different: This hydra was born from two giant snakes being converted into a Fallen

Robo Arachnitaur and Robo Papillion Fallen

A pair of robotic Fallen who fight Amp and Bellona on their way to find Mother Olm.

Heron Fallen

Originally the two herons who killed Sprig and Polly’s parents, they have now been converted into Fallen by the Night’s forces.
  • Adaptational Badass: The herons were pretty terrifying in canon, but here, they gain even more strength as Fallen. Along with the Plantars doing their hunting dance, it took five Riders and a Dopant to finally beat them.
  • Wind from Beneath My Wings: Their primary method of attacking.

Others

    Tritonio Espada

Tritonio Espada

An eccentric thief who Anne has encountered before.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: It’s because of Tritonio’s lessons that Anne is able to gain control over her powers as Kamen Rider Amp.
  • So Proud of You: After making his escape, he gives Anne back the gemstone he stole from the Ribbitons as a reward, saying that while Anne isn’t cut out to be a thief, she’s capable of becoming a hero. He still stole a different gemstone to make up for his loss though.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Tritonio has the chance to leave an unconscious Anne alone while getting away with the gemstone he stole, and while he ultimately chooses to make his escape, he sends Anne a letter stating how proud he is of her, in addition to the gemstone.
    Mr. Ponds

Mr. Ponds

  • Affably Evil: As Mr. Ponds himself puts it, he’s a bad guy, but he’s not a bad guy.
  • Ascended Extra: Rather than being a one-shot antagonist, Mr. Ponds appears in a later chapter.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: The toxin he used to stop Anne from using his powers in order to trap her in wax comes into play when Sasha uses some of it to immobilize Anne and Marcy during the invasion of Newtopia. Later on, Sasha creates a stronger dosage for Sprig to use on herself in case she turns evil.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Rather than being killed by the creatures he imprisoned, Mr. Ponds is simply scared off by Anne.
    General Yunan

General Yunan, Scourge of the Sand Wars, Defeater of Ragnar the Wretched, and The Youngest Newt to Ever Receive the Rank of General in the Great Newtopian Army

An experienced general who loves to tell others about her exploits, though isn’t as willing to go along with King Andrias’ plans despite her loyalty to Newtopia.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Yunan and Olivia show romantic attraction to each other earlier than in canon.
  • Enemy Mine: When a Fallen interrupts her attempt to hunt down Grime and Sasha, Yunan reluctantly teams up with Grime. Of course, as soon as the Fallen is taken care of, Yunan goes back to attempting to kill Grime.
  • The Worf Effect: Yunan is shown to be no match for the Grizzly Fallen, someone who is easily defeated during Sasha's first battle as Kamen Rider Bellona.
    Lady Olivia

Lady Olivia

A stoic and dignified lady who serves as King Andrias’ advisor.
    Chicka-Lisk

Chicka-Lisk

An Elder God summoned by the Plantars in order to destroy the fake presents they got for the citizens of Wartwood,
  • Ascended Extra: He gets to appear in more than one chapter in this fic.
  • Blood Knight: Downplayed. Chika-Lisk is a fearsome monster who likes to fight, but he sees fighting more as a sport and is okay with simply hanging out with Anne instead.
  • Forgot About His Powers: During his first fight against Amp and the citizens of Wartwood, he was so excited from the rush of the battle that he forgot to use a translation spell to make the others understand him. He thankfully uses this when he sees Anne again.
  • Godzilla Threshold: Sprig views summoning him as his last resort to break up Anne, Marcy, and Sasha.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: Just like in canon, he is very polite to the people he meets.
  • Suddenly Voiced: When Sprig summons him to ruin Anne’s date with Marcy and Sasha, he casts a translation spell so the three girls can understand him now.
  • Worthy Opponent: He sees Anne as this, and when asking if Anne wants to hang out, he says Marcy and Sasha can come along as “they look strong”.

Ancient Amphibia (Unmarked Spoilers)

Huey, Dewy, and Louie/The Amphibian Knights

Huey, Dewy, and Louie/The Amphibian Knights

A trio of toads who were the latest in a generation of brave warriors with the power of the Calamity Gems.
  • Expy: As their names suggest, they're named after the characters from DuckTales (1987), though it isn't clarified if they're related or not.
  • Original Character: They were created exclusively for this fic.
  • Precursor Heroes: Interestingly, these three are the Precursor Heroes to the actual Precursor Heroes in this fic.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: The three pass on the powers of the Stones onto Argus, Aja, and Maurice, who slowly start to uncover Aldrich's scheme.
    Argus the Noble/Azure Knight/Blue Spirit

Argus the Noble/Azure Knight/Blue Spirit

A humble frog farmer who was chosen to wield the power of the Heart Gem to become the latest Azure Knight. His powers would eventually be passed onto Anne/Kamen Rider Amp.
  • Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence: After Anne reaffirms her ideals, Argus's spirit finally passes on.
  • Badass Bystander: Argus is a simple farmer who was roped into one of the Amphibian Knights' battles, but he, along with Aja and Maurice, manage to take out the queen of a race of monsters they were fighting.
  • Fling a Light into the Future: After being mortally wounded by Aldrich's prototype Fallen (who had already killed Aja and Maurice), Argus uses the power of the three stones to send a message to Anne about his struggle.
  • Generation Xerox: Played With. While Argus and Anne obviously aren't related, they are similar in some ways before they gained their powers. Just like Anne, Argus was a farmer who chose to help out during a tough conflict, even choosing to use a sword as his weapon of choice.
  • Original Character: He was created exclusively for this fic.
  • Spirit Advisor: Argus serves as this to Anne.
    Aja the Strong/Magenta Knight/Magenta Spirit

Aja the Strong/Magenta Knight/Magenta Spirit

A strong toad warrior who was chosen to wield the power of the Strength Gem to become the latest Magenta Knight. Her powers would eventually be passed onto Sasha/Kamen Rider Bellona.
  • Blood Knight: Of the three Knights, she's the one who is the most eager to fight and prove her strength.
  • Generation Xerox: Played With. While Aja and Sasha obviously aren't related, they are similar in some ways before they gained their powers. Just like Sasha, Aja was an arrogant, but good-hearted warrior, who took pride in her strength.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Because Sasha doesn't have the full power of her Gem, Aja's spirit gives up her astral form to give Sasha more power as Bellona.
  • Original Character: She was created exclusively for this fic.
  • Shipper on Deck: She seems to pick up on Leif's feelings for Andrias pretty easily, and asks when she'll finally court him.
  • The Smurfette Principle: She is the only female member of this generation of Amphibian Knights.
  • Spirit Advisor: She serves as this to Sasha.
    Maurice the Wise/Emerald Knight

Maurice the Wise/Emerald Knight

A newt warrior with a Frobot arm who was chosen to wield the power of the Mind Gem to become the latest Emerald Knight. His powers would eventually be passed onto Marcy/Kamen Rider Ranger.
    Leif

Leif

A gardener at the Newtopian Castle who was intended to be the successor to Aja/The Magenta Knight, but Aja's untimely death and Aldrich subsequently ending the Order of Amphibian Knights ultimately led to her betraying her close friend, Andrias.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: She has feelings for Andrias in this fic.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Leif doesn't want to act on her feelings for Andrias because she doesn't think he would go for a frog.
  • Irony: Leif ends up stealing the Calamity Box, and she doesn't even know that she was intended to become an Amphibian Knight, the team of warriors who use the same artifact she stole as a power source.
  • Power Stereotype Flip: Leif was intended to be this, according to Aja. While she may be a little frog, she is still strong in Aja's eyes.
    Barrel

Barrel

A guard at the Newtopian Castle who was intended to be the successor to Maurice/The Emerald Knight, but Maurice's untimely death, Aldrich subsequently ending the Order of Amphibian Knights, and Leif stealing the Calamity Box ultimately led to him being exiled by his close friend, Andrias.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: He is temporarily resurrected by Lich in Kamen Rider X Kamen Rider Amp & Witch: Heroes Unite!, long before his first appearance in canon.
  • Forced into Evil: Because he was resurrected by Lich, he is forced to serve the Phantom until his physical body is destroyed.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Compared to all the people he spends time with (Andrias, a Prince, Leif, a skilled gardener, and Maurice, an Amphibian Knight), Barrel feels insecure about his status as a simple guard.
  • Irony: Barrel feels like he doesn't deserve to hang out with some of his friends given how talented and important they are. Not only did he never learn he was intended to become an Amphibian Knight, but thanks to Andrias exiling him, his exploits lead to him becoming a legendary warrior revered through history.
  • Power Stereotype Flip: Barrel was intended to be this, according to Maurice. While he isn't the smartest and needs to mature, his mind still has a lot of potential to grow.
    Xolatla

Xolatla

A newt renowned for her curse wielding who was resurrected by Lich.
  • Forced into Evil: Because he was resurrected by Lich, he is forced to serve the Phantom until his physical body is destroyed.
Anne/Kamen Rider Amp: What the heck, dude?! You told me to destroy your body!
Xolata: I also said I’m under orders to fight you. Which means I must defend myself against you. I never said it was going to be easy, I’d very much would stand still for you, but as it stands, my actions are out of my hands. I am going to cast a destruction spell next; I’d dodge it if I were you.
  • Original Character: She was created exclusively for this fic.
  • Squishy Wizard: Xolatla specializes in curses, and isn't as skilled in physical combat.

    Donléon Espada

  • Master Archer: When the Night tells Lich about Donléon, he says "his aim was unlike any other"
  • Original Character: He was created exclusively for this fic.
