The Coach
- Ambiguous Gender: To let the players insert themselves into the story better, the coach's gender is left ambiguous.
- Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Regardless of the player's name, all the characters would just call them "Coach" (or in Nozomu's case, "Co-chan"). However, the Headmaster only calls the Coach by the player name once during the tutorial... and that's it.
- Hello, [Insert Name Here]: While the player name is acknowledged, it's only during the tutorial by the Headmaster. Beyond that, the rest of the characters simply call the player 'Coach'.
- Non-Entity General: They are not named and there is no room to show what they look like, how old they are, what their gender is, etc. since all interactions with them are depicted in first-person and they're supposed to represent the player.

- Bilingual Bonus: This group's name means "star" in French and "the lead ballet dancer in a company" in English.

- Gratuitous French: While going undercover in spying on Rentaro in his game during the latter's default 5-star card story, the team uses French usernames. - Hidden Depths: All of them play games with Rentaro every now and then since the events in Rentaro's defaualt 5-star card story.

- Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: At least that's what Mahiru thinks. His 'demon' side is just his foul language.
- Gratuitous English: Being half-British, he's the primary source of this.
- The Leader: Of Étoile.
- Lethal Chef: Downplayed, but Sora didn't take to Noel's stargazy pie due to the number of bones left in the fish in Shiki's manga chapter.

- Childhood Friends: With Akira.

- Family Theme Naming: Insects, with his grandfather Kabuto.
- The Gadfly: He sometimes likes to tease others, with Nozomu on the receiving end most of the time.
- Manipulative Bastard: Has a way with words and isn't afraid to use it to get what he wants with others. Case in point: at one point, he tricked Tsukumo into caring for three kittens while he searched for people to adopt them by placing them in a empty protein box. His smile in here
is the icing on the cake.- This gets turned on him during Haunted Heaven ♡ TRICK or DANKIRA, where he ends up going along with Mahiru's whims by taking part in the Halloween event in the shopping district despite his protests; they eventually agree that Kei will take part, but only if Mahiru promises to delete every single picture he took of him during the event, backups included.
- Meaningful Name: His last name contains the word for 'shadow', which comes into play with his nickname of 'The Black Knight'.
- Neat Freak: Is obsessed with cleanliness and hygiene, to the point where he brings his own cleaning tools to school. He's also sometimes seen cleaning other people's dorm rooms and even calls Reiji 'pure' for using newspaper to clean the windows in a Dankira Bitesize Rough Sketch, with him using a portable cleaner. This leads to a conflict with Shiki, whose side of their dorm room is very messy.

- Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Members of this unit are also named after gods, saints and religious offerings.
- Terrible Artist: While it's unknown in Seito's case, both Soma and Nozomu are known for having terrible drawing skills.

- Nice Guy: In Sanzensekai's chapter, he goes out of his way to ensure that Yukari can continue to compose Dankira works and participate in Dankira matches at the same time. While he also finds out about Oboro's secret activities, he decides, out of respect, to keep that fact to himself and not bring it up, presumably until Oboro is ready to talk about it himself.

- Le Parkour: Low self-esteem aside, he has very good mid-air coordination and can perform mind-bending stunts to show it.

- No Dress Code: While Non-Uniform Uniform is Truth in Television in Japanese schools, the alterations these guys made to their school uniforms would get them suspended at best in real life: Shiki wears a gratuitously cut-up shirt underneath his blazer, Ageha wears a midriff-baring shirt under theirs, and Tsukumo straight-up goes shirtless under his.
- Stripperiffic: Have the skimpiest default dance uniforms out of all the groups, with those outfits designed and cut in ways that make them belong more in a burlesque club than a high-school street dance team.

- Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Him with his sister Nazuna - even though they bicker a lot, he's shown to care for her just as much. In fact, on White Day, he claims that the gift was 'just for his sister'.
- Similarly, despite picking fights with Ageha, he does show some concern for them.
- Big Eater: Is capable of polishing an entire pot of Japanese curry and still ask for more.
- Embarrassing Last Name: Busujima is a legitimate Japanese surname, but too bad the busu part sounds a bit too close to a word that means "hideous". Naturally, Ageha does not let him get away with this.

- Butt-Monkey: Constantly on the losing end of Dankira matches.
- During the 'Special Dankira' which does not consume your energy, you face off against them on Easy no matter your work and team. Since they're all 1-star cards with only the basic Killer Tricks, they'll be on the receiving end of a Curb-Stomp Battle against the player team, especially if the player uses 5-star cards and golden Killer Tricks.
- After the game goes offline, they'll always be the Dankira opponent regardless of work and difficulty, making them this trope till the very end.
- Colourful Theme Naming: They're named after the color scheme each of them is dressed in: Aoshi (blue), Akashi (red) and Kitarō (yellow). Additionally, they're named and styled after the traffic signal, hence the colors and the name.
- Only Six Faces: They're basically three recolored copies of the same 3D model.
- Punny Name: Their surname is Shingō, homophonous with shingō meaning "signal", thus Signal Brothers.

Billy Omori
The owner of Billy's Burgers, a fast food restaurant located in the shopping district where Sora and Kento frequent numerous times. Rumour has it that he's strong in Dankira, and if one manages to beat him in a match he'll reward the victor with a year's supply of burgers at his place... or so they say.
- Acrofatic: He's pudgy but rumours have it that he's excellent at Dankira.
- The Reveal: Reveals himself to be the owner of Billy's Burgers to Merry Panic and Sanzensekai when beforehand they just assumed him to be a regular old man.
- Stealth Mentor: To Merry Panic and Sanzensekai in Chapter 7 of the main story.
