Main Characters

Yamada

The main protagonist of the game. A 36-year old programmer who decides to create "Legend of Brave Yamada" after being fired from Empire Games to impress the 14 year-old Maria next door.

• Butt-Monkey: A lot of bad things happen to this guy.
• Naked People Are Funny: Codes in his underwear.
• Write Who You Know: In-Universe, Yamada bases his game and its characters off people in his life.

Maria

The girl next door who hates violence, who Yamada tries to swoon by finishing "Legend of Brave Yamada". After being Baibai, she is reveled to have run away from home because her father is Chairman Ayanokoji. She is then kidnapped by the Demon King version in Yamada's game, but is recused... Only to be kidnapped again by Dark Solid Inc.

• The Girl Next Door: Literally lives next door to Yamada.
• Trademark Favorite Food: By her own admittance, Maria loves sweet potatoes.

Yasu

Yamada's friend, who works at Empire Games and keeps him informed about what goes on in Empire Games. At the end of the first game, he is reveled to be the mysterious hacker who screwed with "Legend of Brave Yamada" to get even with his father, Ayanokoji. Born from an affair the Chairman had with his hot secretary.

• Post-Final Boss: For Dandy Dungeon. He puts up no fight but insists that Yamada punish him for his actions.

Bronson

Maria's boyfriend, who sees Yamada as a rival for Maria's affection. He looks down on Yamada's solo game making, and incorporated the "Boss Revenge System" to mess with him.

In General

• MegaCorp: Said to own over 50% of Tokyo.

Chairman Ayanokoji

The CEO of Empire Games and Yamada's former boss. At the start of the game, he fires Yamada because he considers him a waste of skin. Later relieved to be the father of Maria and Yasu.

• Bad Boss: Has no problem barging into Yamada's apartment, insulting him, and then firing him.
• Sorcerous Overlord: How he's depicted in Yamada's game.

Chairman's Decoy

Chairman Ayanokoji's Body Double. You fight him as the boss of the first level.

Komebitsu

Chairman Ayanokoji's eldest daughter.

Masamune

Chairman Ayanokoji's son.

Baibai

Chariman Ayanokoji's eldest son.

Dark Solid Inc

In General

• Killed Off for Real: Once defeated, the Four's spirits are shown flying away and are assimilated into Dark Mother during the final dungeon, and on top of that, aren't featured again during the Yamanote Stations plotline.

Boss Of Dark Solid (UNMARKED SPOILERS)

Also known as Dark Mother and Yamada's Dark Heart, they are an amalgamation of humanity's darkness, who kidnapped Maria at the end of the first game to marry them.

• Fusion Dance: They absorb the spirits of Yasu, Tataribabaa, Doburoku, and Namazunda once Yamada reaches them, and all of their abilities are used in their final phase.
• Mechanical Abomination: Dark Mother is shown as a towering spire of various machine parts, up to computer wires, assault rifles, and even parts of Mobile Suit Nigoro and Nobiyo Uematsu's UFO.
