  • Strong Family Resemblance: He shares his mom's light blonde hair and freckles.
  • Yakuza: It's his Ultimate talent, and while having his own code of ethics, he makes it clear his world and even some of his actions are brutal and not worth romanticizing.

Peko Pekoyama

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_75f4effbc972779471ee93e9cf0a9fec_4c292239_500.png

The Ultimate Swordswoman. A reserved, soft-spoken girl who serves as Fuyuhiko's bodyguard and best friend.

  • Cool Mask: She still uses her "Sparkling Justice" mask when participating in the Storm and Twisted Sister Aftermath Arcs.
  • Dehumanizing Insult: Her superiors, Mr. and Mrs. Kuzuryu, flat out call her a "tool." They're not against calling her that to her face, either.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: She firmly believes herself to be nothing but a tool.
  • Master Swordswoman: A bonafide master of the blade.

  • Damsel in Distress: She ends up getting kidnapped by human traffickers along with Hiyoko in the Picture Perfect Arc.
  • Official Couple: With Honami.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: In the Picture Perfect Arc, her trying to investigate Hajime's true identity as Kasugano would result in her and her friends being targeted by Junya's traffickers.

The Ultimate Lucky Student of Class 77. He's one of the first people Hajime tries to help to prevent his destructive tendencies from rising.

  • Born Lucky/Born Unlucky: This is Nagito we're talking about. His bad luck gets him and Kanata cornered by a group of kidnappers and he ends up stabbed, but thanks to his good luck, not only does he survive being stabbed and manage to take them out, but the one who grabs Kanata gets taken out by a falling sign dislodged by a lightning strike.
  • Character Development: Thanks to receiving proper medical treatment and spending time with Kanata, Nagito starts to let go of his twisted ideals about hope and becomes more mellow and friendlier.
  • Cursed with Awesome: Despite viewing his mixed luck as a curse, he manages to weaponize it to fend off a duo of traffickers who try to kidnap Kanata.
  • Florence Nightingale Effect: After being treated for his frontotemporal dementia by Kanata Inori and her father, Nagito feels romantic affections for the aspiring young surgeon who saved him and they would later get married.
  • I Hate Past Me/Future Me Scares Me: He's shocked to discover how much of a deranged terrorist he was in the original timeline thanks to his old twisted morality, which he has started to move on from. He promises to do better for his friends and apologizes for his behavior both in the future and before his surgery.
  • Kid from the Future: In 2030, he and Kanata have an adopted daughter named Miho.
  • Meaningful Appearance: After being treated for his cancer and dementia, along with spending more time with Kanata and her father, Nagito ends up having a healthy tan skin color and brown hair. Both of these are a sign of his health becoming better.
  • Official Couple: With Kanata Inori. In one of Mikako's visions, they even get married.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: Even after his lymphoma is treated, his frontotemporal dementia only grants him a lifespan of about 2-20 years. He's pretty much accepted that he won't live to be forty, though his girlfriend holds out hope they can save him.

  • Birds of a Feather: He develops a new friendship with Chihiro Fujisaki thanks to their love of technology and engineering.
  • Character Development: After being told off by Sonia, along with talking things out with Dr. Kabuya, Kazuichi lets go of his crush on the princess and starts to respect her boundaries and treat her like a normal person.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Along with repairing stuff, Kazuichi is pretty skilled with making inventions too. His inventions would be of great help to the Quantum Crew as they take on Maverick Storm.
  • Hopeless Suitor: He was this to Sonia for most of Season 1. It isn't until the Last Day of School Arc where she finally calls him out on his creepy behavior does he start to respect her.
  • Made Myself Sad: He notes that he upset himself when he comments that girls never flirt with him.
  • Oblivious to Love: In spite of all the signs that everyone else picks up on, Kazuichi fails to pick up on the fact Ayumi was flirting with him, leaving Ibuki, Sonia, Gundham and later Nikei flabbergasted at his denseness. Granted, she was initially aggressive to him.

  • Cool Big Sis: She has tons of younger siblings and cares for each of them as their big sister.
  • Family Drama: Her father is a shameless whore who constantly hits on every woman in a three foot radius, married three of them who each gave birth to three children. Her dad is hardly around to provide and the third (and current) mom, Honoka, does what she can to watch over the children leaving it to the gymnast to bring in the money to provide for everyone.
  • Like Parent, Like Child: According to Akane, her biological mother as a professional athlete with a tough personality.
  • She-Fu: Her fighting style incorporates her gymnastic talent, making her much more deadly in combat.

The Ultimate Chef. A master of the culinary arts who has a tendency of making lustful remarks.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Believe it or not, this version of Teruteru is more thoughtful in regards to how he portrays his perverted antics compared to his canon incarnation. He even rages out at an anon who suggested that he would go as far as to offer a drugged meal if given the opportunity.
    • He's also a very thoughtful and supportive friend to Akane Owari when she vents about her family issues to him.
  • Birds of a Feather: He gets along swimmingly with Akane Taira thanks to their amorous desires.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: He lives up to this role better compared to his canon self.
  • Everyone Has Standards: In spite of Teruteru's perverted ways, he is beyond disgusted at the idea that anyone would think he would put something in Hibiki's food after her traumatic experiences.
Teruteru: After what she just went through? What kind of chef- nay, what kind of man do you think I am?!
  • Mama's Boy: He cares deeply for his mother.
  • The Needs of the Many: In the future, he opens a restaurant that creates splendid and enriching meals for anyone in need.
  • Red String of Fate: After a glimpse into the future reveals he's Happily Married, he sets off on a quest to meet his future wife. It doesn't go particularly well at first.
  • Supreme Chef: Teruteru knows his way around the kitchen and can create exquisite dishes when asked to.

Nekomaru Nidai

  • Half-Breed Discrimination: He admits that he used to be teased a lot for being a "hafu" as a kid but he never let it bother him.

  • Big Fun: They have a fat physique and are a pleasant person to be around.
  • A Day in the Limelight: They get the spotlight during the Let The Dogs Out Arc as the Crew requests their help in tracking an elusive Copycat Killer.
  • Genuine Imposter: Their true talent is to disguise and take on the persona of any person of their choosing. However, by the events of the Twisted Sister Aftermath Arc, the Quantum Crew and their class are familiar with their true identity after learning of their role in the original timeline.
  • Good Counterpart: To the Copycat Killer. Both take on the identities of other people, but while the Ultimate Imposter means no harm to those he pretends to be (even impersonating the reclusive Ryota in order to cover for him, with his permission), the Copycat Killer is a cold-blooded parasite who wishes to steal his victims' lives and accomplishments.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: It's implied that they secretly long for a family or place who can love them for who they are.

  • Weight Woe: They, along with their classmates, don't take kindly to anons making fat jokes at his expense.
  • Un-person: Befitting their identity as a person of mystery, they have no legitimate documents or legal identification. This was actually invoked due to the Imposter not wanting to jeopardize the safety of their adopted mother who is a government agent with a long list of enemies.

The Ultimate Mortician. A somber and irritable young woman who manages affairs relating to funerals and "coverups".

  • Because I'm Good At It: Estu really doesn't enjoy her profession but she goes through with it because she's talented at it and receives financial support from the school. She later develops a talent for baking that she enjoys more, and opens a bakery in the future.
  • Blessed with Suck: According to Kyoji, Estu has an uncanny ability of predicting when someone will die and has an astonishing success rate. Given that she hates her own talent, she's not fond of this ability either.
  • Connected All Along: Along with being coerced into the Kamukura Project along with Kyoji, she's also worked directly with Mikan on a few occasions and is Seiko Kimura's roommate.
  • Creepy Mortician: Her ultimate talent and has a grim presence. That said, she is still a decent person.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: While she's somber, never one to mince words and has been forced to assist in Hope's Peak's coverups several times, Estu is nevertheless a morally decent person. At Kana's funeral, she encourages the members of the Quantum to save as many people as they can and to help make their lives better. She also isn't fond of temples that financially pressure people and thus she arranges smaller funerals for those who need it, and can't stand families who don't want transgender people buried in their desired gender's clothes.
  • Exhausted Eyebags: She has these to highlight her gloomy appearance.
  • Happily Married: To Mayumi in 2030. The two of them live together in Amsterdam and have an adopted son named Kenzo Chabashira.
  • Image Song: She has her own theme song called We Don't Talk About Estu which is a direct parody of We Don't Talk About Bruno.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: As cruel as it was for her to proclaim, she points out that Kana dying is a much kinder fate as her bullet wounds would have left in her a more painful living situation. That still doesn't stop Chiaki from attacking her.
  • Jerkass to One: She often expresses discontent towards Kyoji due to having to take care of the deceased human test subjects that were involved in the Kamakura Project. Even then, she does request he seek counseling and doesn't truly hate him. After he offers a personal apology, they become friends.
  • Odd Friendship: Gloomy, dour, and pessimistic Estu is best friends with the extraverted, energetic, and friendly Mayumi.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: In Let The Dogs Out, Estu decides to break the Non-Disclosure Agreement she's signed and work on getting justice for the victims of the Kamukura Project.

The Ultimate Archer and a peppy, outgoing girl.

  • Happily Married: To Estu in 2030. The two of them live together in Amsterdam and have an adopted son named Kenzo Chabashira.
  • Master Archer: To the point that, while she was flying to a competition across the country and her plane went down in the mountains, she took the time to assess the situation, make sure the passenger (who all survived) were okay, and then walked all the way to the competition, won, and made sure that help got back to them all in time.
  • My Greatest Failure: When she was younger, she had a crush on another girl in her team and, after winning a big competition, Mayumi impulsively kissed her...right in front of her mother and the entire crowd. The girl's mother publicly shamed Mayumi and her crush dropped out of the team, and was later Driven to Suicide. Mayumi ultimately blames herself for it, even if it was outside her control.
  • Nice Girl: She's very outgoing and friendly.
  • Odd Friendship: To the surprise of many, she considers the the somber, pessimistic Estu her best friend. Mayumi ended up developing feelings for her and they eventually get together.
  • Passionate Sports Girl: Passionate, energetic, upbeat and very outgoing. Even Estu smiles much more when she's around her.
  • Transparent Closet: As revealed in Die Free or Live Hard, Mayumi is a closeted lesbian and refuses to discuss her sexuality with anybody after what happened with her crush. But to Umeko and her older brother Hideyoshi, which way she swings and how much she's struggling with it are fairly obvious. Masa likewise notes that Mayumi is far from subtle about her feelings towards Estu.

  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: She admits that Hope's Peak made her sign a NDA but she tossed it aside the moment it was brought to her.
  • Shipper on Deck: She's totally into the idea of Estu and Mayumi becoming a couple, but only if they both want to.
  • Unknown Rival: She had no idea that Nikei considers her his news rival until being informed of it.

  • Extreme Doormat: She's willing to work long hours making trivial products if it'll make Ruruka happy.
  • Friendless Background: Before Ruruka and Sonosuke came into the picture, Seiko had no friends growing up due to her lack of social skills and focusing on developing her knowledge of chemistry.
  • Ironic Allergy: Played for Drama. Her best friend is a professional confectioner but Seiko has a medical condition where if she ingests even a speck of sugar her body would react violently and the witch would perish.

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Behind her sugary appearance lies a bitter girl who believes the worst in others. Thankfully she gets better after talking things out with her friends and therapist.
  • Character Development: With the support of her boyfriend, friends and Miaya's therapy sessions, Ruruka becomes alot more warmer as a person and treats others with more respect. In fact, she even manages to make a delicious sugar-free candy for her lifelong friend.
  • Childhood Friends: Was this with Seiko before the sweets girl began to take offense over her refusing her treats. They get better thanks to Chiaki and Mikan's interference.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Growing up, her mother was a cold and heartless woman who neglected Ruruka and would leave the house constantly. One day, Ruruka discovered that she was cheating on her father to which the wretched woman took a knife to Ruruka's neck to force her to stay quiet. When the despicable mother left the house along with their money, the father began to take out his frustrations on the little baker who bore a strong resemblance to his cheating wife via verbal abuse.
  • Disabled in the Adaptation: She has Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
  • Official Couple: With Sonosuke.
  • Secret Test of Character: Played for Drama: Apparently the real reason why Ruruka asked Seiko to create so many products is to determine how talented the witch is and (in her mind) confirms that she doesn't want to make a medicine that can temper her allergic reactions.
  • Sweet Baker: She prides herself in makin exquisite candies and desserts, though she does lack that sweet personality. But then she lives up to the trope after getting therapy.

The Ultimate Therapist. A thoughtful and considerate girl who manages Hope's Peak's support group.

He also has no delusions about himself being a decent person and intends to turn himself in when everything is all said and done.
  • The Mole: Despite being Junko's boy toy, he willingly gives information about her inner circle for the Quantum Crew to learn about and later decides to stop helping her.
  • Ridiculously Successful Future Self: By the year 2030, he would be recognized as a professional neurosurgeon and even gets a university hall named after him.
  • Save the Villain: His main reason for "helping" the Crew is to gain the opportunity to help Junko and stop her from going too far and destroying herself with her despair agenda.
